Sarah had just finished her assignments in Ignihyde and was ready to visit her beloved cousin in Pomefiore.

Every time she did this, none can deny the excitement in her eyes. While it's true that she isn't one to smile a lot, there's always a certain glint in her eyes that tells you just what she feels about anything.

And in this case, the glint meant that she was unashamedly excited to spend time with her cousin. Perhaps a spar was in order? There were too many options, and that only made the sparkle of Sarah's eyes brighter.

I can't wait to see Vivi-chan! Sarah thought. It has been a while since we last spent some time together…

That actually got Sarah wondering: Why was Victoria so occupied recently? Usually, she'd always have some time to spare when it comes to spending time with her cousins.

But nowadays she's so occupied with more ‘pressing matters,’ or so she claims.

Apparently, Sarah not only wanted to spend time with Victoria - but also wanted to get to the bottom of why she's been so busy lately.

When she arrived in Pomefiore, she soon got her answer.

Sarah felt her breath catch in her throat. An unsettling feeling washed over her, and Sarah had the distinct feeling that she wasn't alone.

Suddenly, she saw an arrow fly at her.

Startled, Sarah unsheathed her sword and sliced the wooden end of the arrow in half before it could pierce her.

A soft sigh was heard. Sarah whipped her head toward the direction of the sound. “Who's there?” she demanded.

“You're awfully paranoid, aren't you?” Aldrich emerged from the darkness of the forests, a bow in his hands with a quiver on his back.

Sarah lowered her sword but didn't lower her guard alongside it. “Who….?” she couldn't get the full question out, but Aldrich knew exactly what she was asking.

His expression was a smile - one that didn't quite reach his eyes. “Aldrich,” he said. “Aldrich Edelweiss.”

That name feels familiar. Sarah thought, trying to pinpoint where exactly she had heard of that name before.

And then it hit her.

“You're…. Vivi-chan's boyfriend?”

Aldrich let out a chuckle. “Oh my, ‘Vivi-chan’? I assume you mean my darling savior, yes?”

“.... Savior?” Sarah tensed up a bit. Why is this guy so unsettling to talk to?

“I assume you're one of her many cousins,” Aldrich approached her, gripping his bow a little tighter. “Sarah Marigold.”

She nodded curtly, trying to avoid showing any signs of unsettled emotions.

Unfortunately, that wasn't enough. “Oh dear, are you perhaps afraid of me?” Aldrich chuckled. “Quite perplexing of a predicament for you, indeed. Do tell, what does a suspect such as yourself find so intimidating about me?”

“Listen, you're not making a fragment of sense,” Sarah stepped back a little.

Aldrich shrugged, but even something as casual as that still put Sarah on edge. “I get that a lot.”

Before Sarah could say anything else, Aldrich hummed. “I would've thought that my savior's relatives would have a lot more decorum,” he huffed in disappointment. “I suppose I was wrong, in that regard. It's actually rather unfortunate, considering how my darling savior does everything with such grace and poise.. And yet here you are, having the manners of a witch.”

“Excuse me?” Sarah's eyes narrowed as she clenched her fists.

“You heard me,” The tone in Aldrich's voice shifted. “You have no sense of decorum, and yet you're of noble blood. Most unfortunate, is it not? It almost feels as though you'd stick out like a sore thumb during gatherings between nobles.”

He dropped the bow, stomping on it so hard that it snapped in half, and walked closer to Sarah.

“And it appears to me that you don't even deserve to simply be called a ‘suspect’...” his eyes squint in irritation.

In response, Sarah felt her nails dig into her flesh while her fists clenched. What the hell is this guy on?

A hum was heard, forcing Sarah out of her trance. Aldrich walked past her, not even bothering to pick up the broken bow.

“I'm truly disappointed in you,” Aldrich told her, making Sarah whip her head in his direction.

He turned his back, smiling a bit too unsettlingly.

“All you ever turned out to be was a heretical witch.”

“I have not a clue what you're on about, Sarah.”

“Vivi-chan, I'm gonna be completely honest,” Sarah hesitated for a moment. “But I think you're boyfriend is batshit insane.”

“Oh?” Victoria arched a brow. “And what makes you think that, Sarah?”

“Vivi-chan, you have to admit, that guy's figure of speech is…. Questionable,” she shuddered while looking back at the memory. “A-And he called me a witch!”

Victoria giggled in endearment while continuing to embroider. “Ah, classic Aldrich….” her voice was but a gentle whisper. The sheer tenderness of the way she said his name drove Sarah up the wall.

Especially considering that, by her accounts, Aldrich was far from endearing.

“Haven't Kiara and Cosette talked about him to you before?” Sarah asked.

Victoria nodded slowly, concentrating on the golden needle she was using to embroider a camellia - Aldrich's favorite flower.

“They have,” she confirmed. “But as I have told you before: ‘I have not a clue on what you're on about’. There's nothing to be concerned about regarding Aldrich's behavior.”

That was a lie. She knew that Sarah knew that.

But why would she not do anything about his behavior?

Speak of the devil, Aldrich soon approached them, his recently polished boots clicking against the floor. Upon seeing him, Victoria smiled softly - whereas Sarah tensed up.

“My darling savior!” Aldrich exclaimed joyfully. But that smile on his face soon faltered upon seeing Sarah next to Victoria. “And….. Sarah.”

Victoria tilted her head. “I didn't think you two knew each other.”

“Well, we have, actually,” his smile didn't reach his eyes. “She was….. Interesting, to say the least.”

Sarah hummed awkwardly. I could say the same for you, you fucking maniac….

It didn't take long for her to get back up on her feet and give Victoria an apologetic look. “Sorry, Vivi-chan…. But uh,” she sent a look at Aldrich. “I suddenly remembered that I have an errand to run.”

Victoria nodded in understanding. “Understood,” she waved Sarah goodbye, and without another word, continued to embroider. Not even bothering to bat an eyelash when Aldrich took Sarah's place next to her.

“I never saw you as much of an embroiderer,” Aldrich said, revealing the box he had been hiding and placing it upon his lap. “Quite unexpected, actually. A shame that I've never seen you do this before, my darling…”

Victoria hummed in response. “I was always an embroiderer, dear. You just happen to not catch me when I do such things.”

He stifled a chuckle. “I see,” he leaned his head against her forearm. “I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Y'know, so I can see my darling savior doing something utterly adorable.”

Even something as simple as that would've felt unsettling to the students that could hear them. No one had expected Aldrich to fall for Victoria.

Not even Victoria herself.

But did she mind it? Not in the slightest.

She chuckled softly, finally completing her little piece of embroidery. “Well, you needn't wait longer than you have to,” she handed the finished product to him.

Aldrich stared at it, deeply mesmerized by the level of design. Shortly after, he soon realized that it was his handkerchief.

The one that he let her borrow when they first met - and the one she didn't bother to return.

There were two intricate designs at the corners of it. Camellias - his favorite flower.

And hydrangeas - Victoria's favorite flower. Above both, were their initials.

His silence was so prevalent that Victoria was under the impression that he didn't like it. She was ready to take it back.

Until Aldrich caught her wrist with his free hand. His gaze was no longer on the handkerchief.

And now on her.

“My dear….”

Victoria's lips parted ever so slightly.

“.... Aldrich?”

Upon hearing her utter his name, he smiled, gently removing his grip on her wrist to gently caress her cheek.

“My savior…” there were practically hearts in his eyes. “So beautiful, so fancifully beguiling, so perfect.. To think, someone such as I had been blessed by the face of a living saint…”

His other hand - the one holding the handkerchief - was now on the other side of Victoria's face. Aldrich stared up at her, adoration filling every piece of the gaze he gave her - As if to say that he couldn't help but feel that way to her. And only her.

Smiling, Victoria mirrored Aldrich's actions as she, too, held his face with her gentle yet slightly calloused hands.

“To be flattered in such a way by an Edelweiss prince,” she giggled, pressing her pointer finger to his nose. “I'm honored.”

Aldrich's smile widened, his face not-so-subtly leaning into her touch. He didn't say anything about it, but he moved the box to the side, so as to avoid dropping it as he relished in her gentle touch.

She glanced at the box, her gaze off of Aldrich for only a dozen seconds or so, and knew immediately that what was inside the box was one of Aldrich's…. ‘Gifts’.

The box was wrapped firmly, and the ribbons that were tied around it were almost certainly made from Edelweiss silks. But no matter how entrancing the design was to her, Victoria didn't fail to notice the droplets of blood on the box.

Small, but not small enough. Certainly not big enough to fit something like a pair of lungs…..

…. But certainly not small enough to not fit a heart.

That was her assumption. She was sure of it. Returning her gaze to Aldrich, her eye softened whilst she lifted his chin. For even the briefest of moments, Aldrich felt his breath hitch, and his cheeks soon dusted with pink.

“Aldrich, my prince….” Her gaze was soft, tender - Yet unwavering. “What is inside that gift of yours, might I ask?”

A soft chuckle left his lips. “My, dear, you and I both know what is inside, by now.”

“For you are someone anyone would steal hearts for.”

That confirmed her suspicions in more ways than one. If it had been anyone else, they'd have run like their life depended on it.

But this was Victoria. Someone who sees the flaws in a person, and accepts them for what they are.

And maybe that was the reason Aldrich adored her so. Because she saw his antics for what they were and welcomed them with open arms.

Victoria hummed, her smile and gaze on Aldrich becoming all the more soft.

Silence was what filled the comforting atmosphere around them. No matter how twisted, how warped both of their mindsets were, one thing remained absurdly clear:

Adoration was what both of them felt. No one knew how they met, nor how they came to fall into each other's arms. And that was okay - So long as, at the end of the day, they find themselves wrapped around one another's arms once more.

“My savior,” Aldrich suddenly spoke, his head now resting on Victoria's chest. “What made you come to love me? To adore me so much, you can't help but spoil me with little to no signs of it ending?”

Wanting to toy with him ever so slightly, she cocked her head to the side, feigning confusion. “I don't quite get what you mean,” she said in a tone of affectionate mockery.

He took the bait for what it was, a knowing smile on his face. “What made you love me,” he began reiterating.

“So devotedly? What was it about me that had entranced you so? What could I have possibly done, in all these many many weeks of being with you, to bring such a loving yet adoring gaze out of the set of sapphires that rest in the sockets of your eyes?”

He let her ruminate on those words, looking deep into her eyes as her lips parted, just as she was about to respond.

Before she could even say anything, Victoria leaned in, pressing her lips against his. And even though he didn't get an immediate response to his question, Aldrich held her face once more, wanting to prolong the kiss for as long as they could all until their lips parted for air.

“.... To answer your question,” she spoke finally, a smile dawning on her face. One that felt different - the kind of different where it made Aldrich's heart melt.

“It all started….” she drawled on the sentence, leaning her forehead against his.

“.... When you joined my serenade.”

You both make it through final selection, choose your ores and are off

Time skip to meeting Zenitsu and Inosuke

Zenitsu thinks your really weird 99.9% of the time and inosuke just don't care he more interested in the fight

During the fights with the demons in the house you find out different forms you could do without practising

And whoop dee doo one of those happen to be mist breathing, around that point your wrist starts to form causing tanjiro to have to slide in and end the demon before you take a deadly blow

You roll up your sleeve and see the name "Muichiro Tokito"

You obviously having no fricking clue what that signifys just gets on with your life

Time skip againnnnn

You and tanjiro are laying in your futons in the wisteria house neither of yoy being able to sleep after wrestling Zenitsu to sit the hell down and sleep and he asks you about your soulmate

Obviously your confused and he rolls up his sleeve and shows you the name on his wrist "Kanao Tsuyuri"

You show him yours and you both marvel over them together

Anddd another time skip to meeting the hashira because this is getting longggg

You find out that your soulmates a hashira and train twice as hard as to get his approval

You don't inform anyone of your name though, as you don't want him to find yoy in your weak current state as a lower rank slayer.

You train day and night with tanjiro both determined to get stronger for your soulmate

Eventually you talk to muichiro and he is very distant at first and drifts off more then talks

After a couple times he eventually comes to talk to you willingly and comes to help and watch you train.

To everyone's surprise including your own he asks you to become his tsuguko.

You stay at his estate whilst training under him and you both grow closer

Whenever you are seen anywhere around muichiro is normally only a couple steps behind or beside you

Mitsuri begins to tease you after a little while saying how he prefers to be around you then any others

To which you splutter a weak string of protests as she giggles at your failed attempts at hiding your attraction to muichiro

After being around the different estates for a while you realise how much you have adapted to this world After literally being chucked out of your world into this one

You began to feel homesick as tears gathered in your eyes at the thought of your family looking for you.

But then you led those thoughts onto your family here, inosuke, zenitsu and tanjiro were all like brothers to and nezuko and mistsuri like sisters and then there was muichiro who you really didn't know what to think about currently

You broke out of your trance as you heard the crunch of feet on the fallen leaves behind you

You whipped your head around to the source of the noise to find muichiro walking towards you and sitting next to you on the ground

You both sat in silence for a little before he turned towards you and tugged up your sleeve before letting out a little whispered 'I knew it' and pulling back down for you

You both just sat there in silence again for a little before you felt a weight on your shoulder and turned to see muichiro resting lightly on your shoulder his eyes closing slightly by the minute

Yoy rested your head ontop of his gently and closed your eyes too letting the rays of rising sun shine on you

You were just slipping off into little dreamworld when yoy felt something soft in your hand

You looked down to see you and muichiros hand interwined and his eyes now back open as he watched the sunrise

I've been thinking about this lately, so, here's my Slay the Princess ships and why I ship them:

Witch x Damsel, aka Sleeping Briars: There's just something that's so compelling about the two "fairytale" vessels---aka, a witch and your classic damsel in distress---who can both lead to some of the most romantic routes in the game. The dynamic between a devious little prankster who has serious trust issues and can't let anyone get close as a result and an adorable sweetheart who trusts everyone and falls in love way too fast is really interesting to me, and I think they'd actually be pretty good influences on each other.

Adversary x Razor: Two ladies who love fighting, bloodshed, and pain in general? The potential is right there. They're different enough that there's some dimension, but they're similar enough that their dynamic would be killer. Literally.

Spectre x Stranger: Honestly, I just think that they're both very charming and would probably get along really well, but there is something to be said about them being the two Vessels you get when you don't really give the Princess a chance---either if you kill her without hesitation and get Spectre, or if you refuse to even meet her and get Stranger. They're both lonely and scattered, and maybe they'd find something in each other.

Thorn x Wild (Wounded): There's something really sweet and intimate about two people who've hurt and been hurt finding comfort in each other. Idk, I think it's nice.

Burned Grey x Drowned Grey: It's... it's right there. The duality is right there. The wedding gown and the funeral gown, the fire and the water---it's right there.

Prisoner x Skeptic: This is really the only Voice/Vessel ship I've got on my list, and it's because in my opinion, it's the most grounded. Prisoner is arguably the most human out of all of the vessels, and Skeptic's whole thing of picking things apart and looking at everything from a different angle feels like a pretty reasonable response to the insanity of the construct. Her cynicism combined with his suspicious attitude could make for a really interesting dynamic, and I think they'd balance each other out well.

Contrahero: Come on. Come on. They're perfect. The first time I saw the Stranger ending, my head was already buzzing with "they're staying in the cabin? Together? Married couple! Married couple!" thoughts. I'm far from the only person in the fandom who sees how amazing the dynamic of the intrepid knight and the goofy little jester is.

Smitten x Cold: The dynamic between the dashing romantic who lives off of passion and feeling and the tired and quiet soul who seems to have cut himself off from emotion altogether is too compelling to ignore. The tension just writes itself.

Stubborn x Opportunist: While these two seem pretty different at first glance, I think the fact that both of them are voices who don't know when to quit speaks wonders as to how they might bounce off of each other. One of them solves problems through fists and fighting and the other solves problems through words and deceit---and I think that creates a pretty interesting duo.

Huntcheat: @tai-janai got me hooked. It's actually pretty damn adorable, I dunno what else to say.

(Also, Nightmare is aromantic in pretty much every one of my AUs, and Paranoid is aroace more often than not)

Your list of ride or die couples is iconic and has so many of my faves, flower of evil bad buddy it's okay that's love lighter and princess one spring night like yes give me a show where the entire story is two individuals willing to take on the world together and for each other, it's my favorite dynamic and we don't get a lot of it especially in heterosexual couples. You have amazing taste and I would take any other suggestions you have of the same dynamic.

Hi anon! Thank you for the kind words, I do agree that I have amazing taste. :) The Ride or Die list is specifically about drama couples who we get to see be in a confirmed romantic relationship for at least half of the drama's run, with their relationship development the primary focus of the plot. I think of them as battle couples; they face challenges together and stay loyal even when they struggle. There actually are not that many of these in dramaland, which is why they are so precious to me and why I hold them close.

That said, since I wrote that post I do think we have gotten a few more entries for the list, so here are some additional recs for you:

Won and Sarang, King the Land

(S Korea, Netflix)

It was getting salty about fan reaction to this show that inspired the Ride or Die list in the first place, and I am happy to report that when it finished its run, these two were still a rock solid couple. This drama is entirely about their relationship and we get lots of time with them as an established couple getting to know each other and settling into a great relationship. I love it and will stab anyone who says it's boring.

Ten and Prem, Cooking Crush

Ten and Prem, my beloveds! These two meet, start liking each other, and move into dating in relatively short order, and the back half of the show has them navigating a slew of external conflicts that would normally result in a lot of breakups and false starts. But not for them! They slay every relationship demon via the power of communication.

Maki and Haruta, Ossan's Love Returns

(Japan, Gagaoolala)

This one comes with a caveat that this is technically a sequel season, and the first one would very much not qualify them for this list. But you don't have to watch that first season if you don't want to, and in this return they are a couple the entire time and there is just so much time spent on them navigating their relationship and facing every day life challenges. They're an extremely charming pair.

Yuanzhou and Ruyi, A Journey to Love

(China, iQIYI)

The most literal battle couple on this list, we have ourselves an assassin and spy master pair here. They meet, she decides he's the perfect baby daddy specimen, and a hilarious pursuit begins. These two get together remarkably early for a cdrama and face just so many trials and tribulations, phew. But they face them together in their color coded costumes and look amazing doing it. CW: the plot is basically about them and a band of buds leading a suicide mission so, uh, there will be many deaths, and their ending can be read as ambiguous but IMO is actually quite a happily ever after in context.

Achi and Karan, Cherry Magic Thailand

Karan and Achi are so into each other it's embarrassing, and we get to see them build and deepen and maintain their relationship every step of the way. This one is a little harder to watch--you will need a VPN if you're not in Thailand--but so worth the effort, trust me. And you may recognize this actor pair from the main list, because they are in fact the same beautiful faces behind Pete and Kao of Dark Blue Kiss. Congratulations to Tay Tawan and New Thitipoom for being the only actors who have achieved the honor of making the coveted Ride or Die list twice.

a/n: the sunny boy himself... (ugly crying) I LOVE HIM. loosely based off of the scraps of canon that i could find. maybe a little projection... (i am desi) atsv version pavitr! written at midnight and not very edited 💀

For some background, Pavitr was born in Southern India (likely Tamil Nadu or Kerala) so one of his first languages was Tamil! A village / small town boy at heart.

After his parents passed at a young age he moved to Mumbattan with his Aunt Maya and Uncle Bihm (of course) and it is very very different!!!

Obviously Pavitr has to learn Hindi and Marathi properly in order to fit in AND English my boy has to be multi-lingual from the start...

Even from early on Pavitr was bullied because he didn't fit in with the city kids. Gets called pagal Prabhakar (crazy Prabhakar — a bit like puny Parker?) and a slew of other names because of his accent, how he mixes up the languages, and the fact that he lives with his aunt and uncle rather than his parents.

Eventually by the time he's in his early teens he "assimilates" in terms of the language and culture but he's a scrawny kid so he still gets bullied... kids are ruthless bro don't you got the JEE to study for 💀

God forbid if anyone found out about his emo phase at that time... Pavitr's just getting onto social media and when he sees the emo subculture he just takes it and runs. (He stops out of embarassment when his Aunt Maya finds out why he's stealing her kajal... There are photos out there somewhere.)

Also meets Gayatri during his lil emo phase. Definitely a chill popular girl and definitely sticks up for him (it's giving Indian Forest Gump... does anyone know about that adaptation 😭)

He's a bit hesitant about Gayatri at first since the popular kids kind of dogpile on him all the time but eventually they become a little duo and he crushes HARD

Enter hopeless romantic Pavitr he is the embodiment of the song "Love Spell" by Param Pannu (Spotify link it's a BOP)

Plus you know he's in love when he admits he had an emo phase to you... in the middle of his emo phase. (Gayatri has all those pictures saved by the way.)

Then comes Mumbattan Visions Academy!! (according to the wiki that's where he goes.)

Of course we know that Pavitr is quite naturally smart so the entrance exam is no problem (RAFFLE BOY like Miles 😊😊😊)

But he is so super concerned about getting in with Gayatri so a few weeks before the exams they're studying together (doing anything but study)

My girl Gayatri is trying to help him out and he has no idea what she's saying and she's so smart and literally knows twice the amount of info you need to know so my boy Pavitr is sweating BULLETS the day before (exam is so easy he thinks he's sitting the wrong one LMAO)

Pavitr does NOT want to stay at the dorms he'll defo miss his auntie and uncle too much (and his auntie's cooking) but he begrudgingly goes anyway...

Enter NADEESH (his universe's Ned counterpart I totally just made up...)

They're roomies and Nadeesh is from Bengal and they actually bond quite easily considering they're not from Mumbattan he's a STEM boy and has a love/hate relationship with it (super smart though maybe just not at school... gadget stuff 😱)

Pavitr doesn't know a LICK of Bangla but Nadeesh teaches him some perhaps to rizz up Gayatri... (they're all vulgar or swear words or words Pavitr picked up from hearing Nadeesh's mum speak on the phone 💀)

SPEAKING OF GAYATRI yeah she's slaying school and also has a lil modelling thing going on too. STEM girlie and fashion girlie and knows multiple languages (her father knows a couple considering he's an officer)

Pavitr is a hopeless romantic but he's just hopeless when he asks her out in Bangla trying to be cool and doesn't realise he called her a whore... (he's so going to kill Nadeesh.)

She finds it HILARIOUS though and they start dating and everyone lived happily ever after and NO ANCIENT YOGI TIME MY BOY IS SPIDER-MAN NOW 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I think Pavitr's initial approach to being Spider-Man is very... impractical. Given he's just gotten his powers and gotten his naturally buff abilities and always amazing hair (yes that is part of his powers) (yes he asked the yogi for it), he's very spontaneous and disorganised. He probably has the stupidest most impractical suit and sweats like HELL in it (kind of like the one in the comics?) My boy's grades kind of take a hit and so does his little freshman year relationship with Gayatri.

My guy Nadeesh is chill though he knows instantly like Pavitr isn't subtle about it... (they're both night owls and Nadeesh is like cramming asf and Pavitr swings in without thinking and he's just like... "okay dude I have a physics exam tomorrow idgaf 😭 wait but that so cool though can I help—")

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a— Okay his Uncle Bihm dies. You know how it goes.

Gayatri breaks up with him (it's exam season and she wants to "take a break".) His uncle is dead. He's flunking school (for real this time) Emo phase 2? Maybe not...

Pavitr ends up spending a lot more time with Maya and while he's a little irrationally spiteful he learns the importance of taking care of the little family he has left. Pavitr doesn't have the privilege of that multi-generational village household he had back when he was young, or parents like the rest of his classmates. It's just him and his aunt in that little apartment, a speck in the whole of Mumbattan, the place he has to protect and call home now.

Okay that got sad real fast but HE CHERISHES HIS AUNT hence why he always makes time to have chai with her, no matter how busy he is or how emo he's feeling.

His uncle Bihm had a couple traditional pieces of clothing and Maya makes him try them on. He feels a bit silly especially since he's gotten used to pushing away his culture and mainly speaking English at his new school but then his aunt starts tearing up and he starts tearing up and "you look just like your chacha" and UGH

After a while Pavitr gets himself together and decides to design himself a new suit. He takes inspiration from a couple of his uncle's fancier pieces and also Gayatri's first advert feature (my girl is going places!!!) so his outfit has a lot of meaning to him.

We gotta go BACK for the yo-yo though y'all. I'm so certain that Gayatri had a yo-yo when they were younger and he learnt it just to impress her... SO HE HAS A YO-YO AS PART OF HIS GEAR 😱😱😱

Of course these little signs add up and Gayatri is like half-sure he's Spider-Man (but not entirely cause when she's saved in the film she's a bit taken aback when he hugs her... my girl is smart but you always got a lil uncertainty!!! Maybe she figures it out after that though...)

Obviously he flunked those exams considering he was NOT studying while he was grieving and when Gayatri checks up on him he's of course not doing the greatest despite his little comeback. However...

"I can help you review if you want?" she asks him. Pavitr's smile comes back that day.

But my boy STILL CANNOT CATCH A BREAK because Gayatri's father gets promoted to Police Captain and is suddenly very protective of his daughter

There's a lot of awkward moments where Pavitr has to play off his association with Gayatri (puts the hopeless in hopeless romantic yet again.) No, she never told him they were dating before (and those pictures are in a SAFE trust) though they're not exactly dating now.

Gayatri is pretty indifferent about it all, to be fair. She doesn't exactly care if her father finds out (and hopefully she can tell him soon) but she also doesn't want her dad to be disappointed in her considering she looks up to him a lot.

A BIT OF GAYATRI HEADCANON but I feel like she's very academically gifted but doesn't exactly want to go into STEM? Fashion is her thing and she eventually might want to go into acting (like this girl in her classes called Meera Jain... OUUU rivalry but not really they're besties I fear)

Gayatri definitely gossips and gushes to Meera Jain about Pavitr like how he gossips and gushes to Nadeesh. They both give the other contrasting advice (they're still not together... SITUATIONSHIP 💀💀💀)

It's not as bad as when Pavitr called Gayatri a whore by accident but getting together again is definitely awkward when they go to get lassi at that very overpriced store that opened up that Pavitr most definitely cannot afford (smiles and fights to pay while a part of him dies inside)

Though their relationship is stronger this time! Pavitr does still have his secret as Spider-Man, but things are looking up! Especially when he finds out that he's not the only Spider-Man (ENTER ATSV CANON STORYLINE 😱😱😱)

REVIEW OF SCARLET BY MARRISA MEYER

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Yeah this ate. I thought Cinder was good… well boy oh boy did this one surpass everything. Scarlet and Wolf are my favorite couple so far, and I fear they will stay there. I adore their dynamic and fantastic dialogue together. Thorn is so real, very much giving Flynn Ryder energy and knowing a little about the next book Cress, he’s literally perfect. This book was much more fun to engage with. That’s 100% because there is less world building/setting up needed and Meyer was really just able to play with what was already there, able to focus on plot and character much more. If you are a reader who focuses more on characters and their relationships with each other, this series is for you! The plot is simple and pretty straightforward, which really allows the characters to shine! So far everyone has a dead relative… which is unfortunate but you know… gotta give the characters trauma for their development. All and all this was fantastic and I cannot wait for the next one!
