"#FascismIsOnTheRiseGlobally
Christo-fascist hate (like the #1MillionMarch4Chidren) is happening globally.
Well-organized Far-right marches, protests to unite fascists and recruit.
This is a counter demonstration standing against hate in the UK. 👇🏽"

i vaguely remember seeing a post about the woman on tiktok illegally digging a tunnel under her house to make a storm shelter, but i did not realise that 1) she has 0 qualifications and works in IT, 2) she got into her areas watertable and started pumping groundwater out into her yard, 3) when a fire broke out, she recorded herself putting it out with a fire extinguisher in one hand and her phone in the other, 4) she hit a radon gas bubble, 5) shes located somewhere with big sulphur pockets and as she got into the waterline, she might have produced sulphuric acid which leaks into the aquifer, aka she could be poisoning the local drinking water, 6) she lives on a CUL-DE-SAC, 7) shes just been releasing silica dust whilst not using respiratory gear herself, let alone warning her neighbours, and 8) her neighbours have said the ground would randomly shake sometimes but many of them felt they couldnt report it to local authorities for fear of deportation.
she has now been stopped and seems to think that since shes only tunneling under her property, itll be easy to get permits to continue. she also drives a tesla which... yeah, that sounds about right.

Someone on twitter said it best: The title should actually be "How NOT to show support for SA victims that don't fit your desired demographic."
"His character is reinforcing negative gay stereotypes" and it's a hypersexual gay man who died in the 30s struggling with addiction and drug abuse to get through his life of exploitation, repression, trafficking and ipv doused with fake glitter and glam so no one can see beneath the cracked surface of his tortured soul.
"I don't think I've ever come across a character so poorly represented yet so greatly praised by the general audience" Because Angel isn't "representation", but an actual character with his own unique struggles and issues and responses that thousands of people (inclusing myself) can deeply relate to and if not "relate" then sympathise with. He isn't "SA rep". He isn't "Gay rep". He's Angel Dust. He's a person, and a broken one at that. If you don't relate to him the way so, so many others do, then maybe it's not for you. I already hate you 💀

In England, St Edward's Crown was the most important crown in the collection in historical terms. It was an object that Keay described as 'the defining symbol of English kingship,' and it held similar importance to queens. Although St Edward's Crown was reserved for crowning male monarchs, during the coronation of Anne Boleyn, a contemporary observed that 'the archbishop set the crown of St Edward on her head.' Alice Hunt believed that this was a deliberate choice, as the visual link with St Edward articulated Anne's lawful right to rule. Joanna Laynesmith supported this view, asserting that the use of regalia in this way emphasised a positive difference between Anne and most other queens [...] there is no evidence that any of the other queens in this period were crowned with St Edward's crown.

This woman has literally no reason to be on the bridge except so that Mitchell can grab her arm in a way that Spock can mirror exactly one minute later. It does not surprise me that this show invented slash.

#AnneBoleynWeek, Day 2: Monday, 25 September — favorite historical Anne quote (either by Anne herself or about Anne)
"Once she was a wise woman, [endowed] with [many] outward good qualities […] and such [...] courtly graces […] as few women were of her time; with such an outward profession of gravity as was to be marvelled at [...]" William Thomas (1524(c.)-1554)
"Had audience of the King this morning and thanked him for the love he bears the State, and did the like by the Queen, who said she knew that God had inspired his Majesty to marry her, and that he could have found a greater personage than herself, but not one more anxious and ready to demonstrate her love towards the Signory." Carlo Capello, 1533
"As supper prevented further conservation I returned to my inn, and went next day to Court to pay my respects to the Queen, who, after keeping me a long time, being reminded by her attendants, sent for me, and received me very kindly, saying to me, “I am aware, my dear Winter (Vintere carissime) that you are beloved by the King and have many friends who wish you well. Reckon me among the number.” And then she added that she would not fail to serve me wherever she could." Thomas Wynter, (1510(c.)-1564)
"Considering the Word of God, to do good to one's enemy, I wished to warn her before hand, because I have daily experience that the King's wisdom is such as not to esteem her repentance of her rudeness and unnatural obstinacy when she has no choice." Anne Boleyn, (1501-7(c.)-1536
"[...]Given her great faith and wise patience, which rose above womanly courage. [...] Such that everyone [...] judges her life to have been prudent, and believes that they have committed a great offense in having thought so ill of her." Lancelot De Carle (1508(c.)-1568)
#chose some quotes that really counter the more popular narrative that she was; idk...volatile and frivolous?#anneboleynweek#she was a bon vivant but it seems she also had this depth#they need not be seen as mutually exclusive#as for the quote from anne's letter that's probably a controversial choice#since paul friedmann it's been termed 'pathetic' which is like...why?#she was right? that is quite literally what happened#i chose it bcus although it seems harsh to our standards it does seem also demonstrative of that 'prudence'#there also seems to be this tacit misunderstanding of what contemporaries meant when they referred to her 'grace'#it wasn't usually about skill at dance unless it was explicitly connected to this (although they praised that too)#grace was a manner#a way of being#a sense of composure#AB is not typically thought of someone with composure because her biggest detractor wrote with unsparing detail of all the times in which#she lost it#to the extent that i think we're losing the forest for the trees even to focus so much about the extent to which dispatches about incidents#concerning AB were 'accurate'#even if they all were which seems unlikely. they're not the sum of her life or character#they are just these snapshots#chapuys didn't attend court events with anne. he was personal witness to her demeanour literally only once when she was queen#(by which he remarked she was 'gracious enough'. so. there's that word again)#and once before (if he could have been a great judge of it from that one moment in which she's watching his conversation with henry above#from a hanging gallery of sorts)#the images chosen are more the vibe for the quotes but the one from BSR is very specific#it's a great scene and it's so well-acted bcus she feels BAD for him here. she pities him.#she feels bad for him because he's losing her bcs she's not going to settle for these terms#because she knows she's amazing and she's so self-posessed in the scene#and he cannot handle this and so it manifests in the reaction#(you're making a big mistake; except that is his own big projection)#she's willful and knows her worth and won't diminish herself for anyone

Oh my god I cannot believe that after 8 years we are still pretending that the only reason somebody might be disillusioned with electoral politics (after a plague, the second enormous financial crash in the last 15 years, the rollback of basic civil rights, an upswing over years in bigoted violence, their state sponsoring an ongoing genocide, etc) is because they're Paid To Be Evil To Weaken The Great State Of America
Even if you don't agree that electoral politics is useless (and I still vote in my general elections even though I think everyone likely to win is shit) could you at least do the basic grace of understanding that other people might feel differently to you for reasons other than Cold War Russkis Under The Bed style jingoistic conspiracies?
Some of us literally just think that it sucks for politicians to offer no material arguments to vote for them except the colour of their tie, and think they should have to offer any sort of incentive to vote for them other than 'I'm not the other guy' 🤷‍♀️
after roe v wade got overturned under biden (a constitutional right we had for FIFTY years) i don’t believe any of the goofy “biden is better for domestic issues” rhetoric . you are lying to me and you are lying to yourself
