i know this happened a while ago but i haven't seen u say anything abt it so i rly wanted to watch sarus crane but missed it. i remember you said smth about making it available so i wanted to ask how far along you are and where i could possibly watch it when you publish it?
thank you for reminding me op i forgor to post it on tumblr but it is done! it is done. it was hell on earth to navigate fuckass premiere pro (used it because i had a month's subscription left with the college) and i would strongly recommend setting the volume low and then raising it as opposed to starting loud but between the ungodly, confused, and miserable amount of audio editing and the subtitles i think the dialogue And the taiko drums are more or less both audible now
it's still crazy to think that we pulled this off, three months later. i'm very proud of it. credits to my dancers as well as everyone else who helped make this possible are in the video description

I came up with the absolute worst idea for a cactiflower fic
#so we all know what Hanahaki is right.#The unrequited love disease where the person in love coughs up flower petals- if the person returns their love#the hanahaki goes away#if not then the person dies or gets surgery to remove it (which can lead to memory loss of that person or never feeling love again...whatev#So Basil would have hanahaki. Flower disease for the flower boy.#He mentions in the game that a cactus reminds him of Kel#Do you see where I'm going with this#Oh sure! At first it would be the flower of the cactus- (a mini one ofc) but like.#I had a thought. what would it feel like if I had him cough up the actual cactus....#pls god this would genuinely be the WORST thing ive EVER written but like#its one of those things where you know its bad. 3am pacing around the room in a heated debate with myself over which movie should fill the 4th slot on my letterboxd profile
#what autism does to a motherfucker#the first 3 are romeo+juliet 96/to catch a thief/scott pilgrim#rope is a STRONG contender but idk if i can justify 2 hitchcocks out of 4 slots. that’s a bit much#i might even like rope more but to catch a thief is just that important to my identity#2001 aso is also a strong contender as is contact. i haven’t seen either of them too many times but mostly bc i was too blown away#2001 is obviously That Movie but contact made me experience an entire new emotion at like 13#i have not watched it since my dad died and i truly don’t know if i can ever watch it again. god#dead poets is also a legacy choice but like. has it truly earned it. yes it has but STILL#last candidate is portrait of a lady on fire for obvious lesbian reasons#one of the hardest i have ever cried at a film is the last like 3 minutes. deep painful sobbing i’m so serious#but again! does a particularly emotional viewing experience necessarily mean it goes in the top 4?#most importantly it does not fucking matter except for i like categorizing and making lists so it matters to me#i think the answer is i have to rewatch all the candidates but the problem is all those films make me so emotional it wipes me out for days#so watching them all is hydrogen bomb (5 fave movies) to coughing baby (me making lists)#ok. ok i’m going to try and go to bed now#if u read all of this and want to be letterboxd besties my @ is m_worm#orating!

my great auntie barbara has been a widow for almost 10 years now. uncle jack died in summer 2014. and with my grandfather gone she's without her only brother too. today was the wake for my grandfather and she looked absolutely beautiful, i told her as much, she was the best-dressed lady there. and it's been almost three years since my grandmother died and you could tell there was a different understanding between her and my grandfather whenever they got together. it became more necessary to invite barbara to extended-family events when her husband died, but after grammy died it was just about mandatory. there was just something about the two of them sitting together, brother and sister, in their 90s having lost their life partners, but sitting with the only other person left that they had known for as long, no, even longer. as far back as they could each remember. they both looked like they were in the company of their favorite living person. so it was hard to see her at the wake although she looked beautiful and she always does; she has a wonderful smile. it must be hard to be the last survivor of your generation. i just hope she goes home and she has something that makes her feel not so lonely.
#tales from diana#after grammy died it could be hard to see grampy. bc he was (i still have to remind myself to use past tense) WAS a very reserved man.#grammy was always the talker. not to mention he was extremely hard of hearing. so he often missed out on convos anyway#grammy would fill him in back when she could.#he was just so much lonelier without her. you could tell he had a personal awkwardness. it's surprising he lasted so long a widower#he turned 95 in july. 95. i dont think anyone in my family has ever lived that long!#who knows if any of them ever will again...#but yeah. it was always nice at parties or weddings when grampy and barbara got to sit next to each other. you could tell they were content#they liked to talk about old memories and things of the like.#lots of pictures at the wake were from his childhood. the best ones were the ones w their dogs or horses#i also have to wonder what it was like for their parents because their firstborn daughter. claire. born 1927#she died at the age of 2 of whooping cough. and grampy's dad died when he was 18#apparently he never emotionally recovered from losing claire. understandable.#i suppose grampy's not only with grammy but with his parents and with claire again. but poor barbara#i really do feel for her. i can only imagine the pain and sorrow of my children taking me to my brother's funeral.
