Since I used Simplicity 4940 for this dress I wanted to try it on and look at the skirt shape to see if I want to use it as a base for Eowyn's dress and I think yes, this is the fullness I want. I will lay it out as well to check. With lighter fabric I hope it won't be quite as weighty as this costume is. Liv Tyler wasn't kidding that her dresses helped her move in an Elven way just from their weight and drape. I found some bubble gauze cotton and linen/linen blends that I think will work well at my scouting trip to Joanns today.

This was the very first pattern I drafted on my own instead of following the store bought pattern! I believe the real costume is lined but the shape is screen accurate. You have to hold your hands at your waist like Arwen in all her promo images or they'll get lost!

Con done, now train ride home, some food and then I can go do more msq~ Not much con loot this time, just a few stickers, pins and couple of drinks.

All in all nice con! Covention center was veeery spacious and for the first time people stopping to greet friends didn't block like entire corridor or something. Also relatively cool temps, I was only dying of heat when I had my (plastic) mask on.

AMV contest was with weird rules (limited songs to choose so there were soooo many with the same finnish meme song) and in way too small room, and handfan workshop had literal hours of queues, but those are pretty much only thing I can complaim about. 4/5, would go again (and probably will, next year)

there are a few quilted jackets that are a decent colour for either the soft-light or hard-light versions of Rimmer’s s6 jacket so I think I’ll keep checking those every so often to see if one pops up that looks like it could work with a bit of adjustment, like adding the bands around the arms and across the chest. Might have to accept it’ll fasten a bit differently than it should but the general feel should be ok if the rest of it works out ok. The ones I’ve seen have been pretty pricey but hopefully there’ll be a good amount of time to be able to get my hands on one before it’s actually needed.

I’ll need to figure out what to do about the insignia he wears on it. It doesn’t seem to be available from anyone as far as I can see so far. If I could 3D print maybe that would be an option but I might just have to opt for a bit of a rougher look trying to make it myself with whatever I can use.

All of this is just me just trying to figure it out for the future if I actually do end up able to try to push on with it;;

The good thing about it is if there is a red and a blue jacket I can get my hands on it’ll mean I’ll have 2 versions of the Rimmer outfit that I can use for future cons.

I’m gonna cross my fingers and hope that by whichever time Chris returns to a con up here that I’m able to go to I’ll have it ready to use;;;

You rolled your eyes as you saw Arthur's comment on yours, how could he be so childish. Forget it, you reminded yourself, today is for Ollie and Ollie only.

You waited in Ollie's driver room till he was done with the debrief, you'd go out to celebrate with him and his family later. His trainer had given him a pass on the diet, after all, scoring points in F1 was no joke.

You jumped off the chair you were lounging in, ready to hug the man as you heard the door open but to your disappointment, it was only Arthur.

You groaned as you saw the boy and he scowled in return. You never knew how your rivalry began. One moment you were visiting Ollie for the first time at Prema and the next you were in a screaming match with a Monagasuque man with the cutest accent.

"What are you doing?" He asked, rather, demanded.

"Waiting for my friend," you replied with the same annoyance in your voice, "What are you doing here?" you accused, stepping towards him.

He pulled a face, closing the gap, "Here to support my friend, you know cause we can actually stand each other,"

"Hah, sure, at least I'm not jealous of my friends, you know cause they actually make it into f1," you shrugged, knowing it was a low blow.

His face morphed into anger as he pushed closer towards you, "You need to shut up," he spoke in a low voice, you'd be scared of the taller, much stronger boy if you weren't doused in anger yourself.

"Make me then," why did you say that- Oh shit.

Your eyes widened as he kissed you, making both of you stumble back and fall on Ollie's driver room bed. You groaned as your back hit the mattress, the older boy breaking the kiss, looking down at you in concern.

"O-oh, my god! Y/n I'm so sorry, I don't know wh-" he began rambling but you couldn't let him win, could you? So you kissed him back, letting your hands run through his hair.

He led one hand to your waist, letting it fall under your shirt, he hissed at the warmth your skin radiated under his palms.

"Oh my god, OH MY GOD," Someone yelled, making Arthur push off the bed, and fall on the floor.

"Ollie this isn't what it looks like," he explained from the floor making you frown.

"It isn't?" you asked making him turn to you.

"No, it is," he explained to you, then turned to shocked Ollie in the doorway, "I mean- it is," he tried to explain.
