Game design and my indecisive braaaaain

Hi again! Today I want to talk about potential designs for the game! So, I was originally inspired by games like Darkwood and Don't Starve in terms of the art style for Outer Rim (especially Darkwood cause damn that game is gross and gorgeous). So when my friend began drawing those creature designs in the previous post, they were more in a semi-realistic style. But then they pointed out that they actually thought that, since I told them that the game was like a horror version of The Oregon Trail game, they thought I was going to be in a more pixelated style.

And you know what? I hadn't actually thought of that, and once they started making some pixel art illustrations, I feel like they'd won me over with Outer Rim having a pixelated style! It makes sense, to be honest, and I'm surprised I hadn't thought of that, so I think I'm gonna stick with that for now. Of course, nothing is set in stone and we're only just beginning this journey, so things can always change, but I think it could be really cool. Pixelated horror is absolutely a thing and 100% can still be scary, with games like Faith and NES Godzilla (what inspired some design choices my friend made). Gonna make another post showing off some things they've made and I have a lot more to say that can't fit here.

I think it’s wild how in the matrix series, in the beginning it’s Trinity who guides Neo on his awakening journey (the awakened feminine guides the masculine)

and then during their ‘fall’ when Trinity is programmed and deeply asleep, it’s Neo who cannot forget the memories they’ve had, the life that they lived — it’s him who must awaken Her.

anyway so the end of dp&w. where they "replaced this world's anchor being" by saving it. but they only managed to do it together. anybody on this side of the aisle read dc's trinity? in which batman, superman, and wonder woman have to be inextricably bonded in every universe or else the fabric of reality falls apart?

they didn't trade dead logan for tragic fuck up logan as the anchor being. neither is wade now the anchor being because he stepped up to the role. the anchor being is wade and logan, together. not only do they both have to be alive to keep the timeline extant, they also have to be Together enough to be cosmically considered "one". if they get divorced, the whole universe pops out of existence.

oh yeah, and they obviously have no idea they're married in the eyes of the laws of physics. haha uh-oh!
