Someone or something tries to put Emulator on the Factory Reset Bandwagon, but the rather unique nature of her existence means that something goes horribly wrong, and now the SMGs, Lil Coding and Steve have to adapt to a very different Mushroom Kingdom while the USBs work on getting Emmy back to normal.

Meanwhile, Byte and Welony are similarly unaffected by the failed reset and immediately try to take advantage of this new world.

pasaron cosas y pomni se volvio admin con todas las implicaciones básicamente la historia era tipo what if de como seria el final, pomni se le ocurrió un plan para que todos salieran del circo pero dicho plan salió mal, puesto que al eliminar o asesinar a caine seguían atrapados y el circo entero se comenzaba corromper al igual que sus cuerpos, en una medida desesperada pomni tomaría el control y provocaría un reinicio que restablecería todo pero ella ahora siendo la admin del circo sin embargo esto le costaría su libertad ( algunas cosas del canon cambian ) -------------- things happened and pomni became admin with all the implications

Basically the story was a what if type of what the ending would be like, Pomni came up with a plan for everyone to get out of the circus but said plan went wrong, since by eliminating or killing Caine they were still trapped and the entire circus began to corrupt as well. that their bodies, in a desperate measure pomni would take control and cause a reboot that would reset everything but she now being the admin of the circus however this would cost her her freedom (some things in canon change)

missing spnwin hours :( i wanted to get around to meeting deanna campbell. i wanted to see what this version of mary and john would do with their free will. would they even end up staying together? wanted to see dean break out of heaven again (and again and again) eventually leading up to the reveal that Something Is Not Right With Jack (and then a plot with corrupted god!jack as the big bad that needs to be saved). wanted to see the spnwin gang cross over to the main universe for Plot Reasons and meet jody, donna, and the girls. garth. all the other characters that are still alive over there. wanted to see them work together to help tfw escape Fake Heaven / the Empty. LIKE. i'm sorry to all the ppl that couldn't get on board with AU johnmary prequel sequel (tho it was never really abt that. it was abt way more than just them) BUT. like spnwin was thee spn reboot disguised trojan horse style. i Know in my heart in a couple of seasons the show would have gotten to the point where having a tfw centric plot / destiel reunion would not have been jarring or out of place. and in the meantime we would have gotten more adventures in the spn world with fun characters. and on top of everything, i wanted to see more from showrunner robbie thompson!

In response to some people expressing interest in the tags of this post, here’s an explanation of what I’m calling my Poltergeist AU.

Basically, during Rebooted while fighting nindroids Jay gets shot straight through his forehead. Him and Cole were arguing, distracted, when it happened. Everything goes the same that season, minus the added grief and tension because of Jay’s death. Zane still dies killing (most of) the Overlord.

The team breaks up like in canon but on angrier, more bitter terms. Cole stays in the city instead of running off to become a lumberjack. He feels like he can’t leave, the catatonic guilt, and rents a shitty, ratty apartment alone. Both Kai and Nya are angry at Cole, Lloyd kind of blames him too but isn’t as angry and more worried about every one. Cole isn’t talking to anyone, really. He’s wrought with constant nightmares and flashbacks to the moment and generally not doing good even before the “haunting” starts.

Speaking of that, so he starts to realize he’s being stalked. Someone—or something— following him, leaving dirt and bugs all over. Someone following him, he’s feeling watched even all alone in his apartment. Other stuff happens, like his apartment seeming infested with bugs (roaches, spiders, maggots) and constant flickering lights and half the stuff he touches keeps zapping him. He gets horrible nightmares and feelings like he’s hallucinating (this will get worse!!) He eventually starts seeing a figure literally following him and eventually figures out it’s Jay.

Jay himself is half-alive, definitely a corpse but cognitive and half-himself. The overlord infection is quite literally like an infection rather than a possession. Like a wound left to fester, it’s corrupting him. He’s angry and blames Cole like (most) everyone else, he’s bitter. He wants someone, Cole, to hurt about it.

Short story is they’re both obsessed with each other in very doomed ways. Jay wants him to hurt, Cole just wants him back.

SO! yeah that’s the explanation for now, I’m still ironing out most it. It’s pretty horror-esc and the imagery I have in my head is pretty dingy, darkly colored, and bug-y.

in quite a few fics with your mer au with eclipse its frequently referenced that he has "episodes"

what happens during those episodes? is there something specific that triggers them or is it something stress induced? does ruin have any ways to help or does he try to stay out of the way until its over?

*cracks knuckles* Prepare thineself for a text wall lmao

So first of all i'm gonna give some context here- Eclipse to put it shortly has the robot equivalent of brain damage. His code is pretty messed up which affects his behaviours and other side effects. This is a result of him having been decommissioned (basically killed) when he was still 'sun and moon' and then brought back again as a mish-mash of both codes.

He was not intended to have a long work life, his expiry being estimated for about 2-3 years and this is primarily due to the fact that his specific model/ai was always intended to function with two ai - so if we look at the eclipse (solar) and lunar from my runaways au, they are a paired ai and if one was to die the other would eventually follow.

Anyways so during his worklife Eclipse's already unstable code was messed up even more due to electrocution from tasers by his owners plus his natural slow deterioration from not having a counterpart (before meeting Ruin which while saved his life, did not fix all the issues). Only reason he survived as long as he did was because he is a mix of two previously paired ai which helped extent his initial lifespan (and the fact he's a stubborn ass)

Ok context concluded i'll now answer the details:

What happens during these episodes?

Moodswings, seizures and at worst crashes. Almost always these result in some form of memory loss. The moodswings tend to be the most common and they can make him act out/say things in an various ways, most often aggressive/angry ones and he doesn't always remember them when they occur due to the memory files being corrupted.

The seizures he has tend to be the absense type though sometimes he may experience a tonic/atonic one. Unlike the crashing in which he experiences a full shutdown and reboot (which he never remembers) the seizures at most can cause soft reboots and minor memory loss.

What are the Triggers?

Stress is the primary cause, but they can happen without warning even if he is feeling fine. The frequency of these episodes in this context is thankfully not too often but usually occur at least a couple times a month.

The immediate causes though? Electricity. The sight of it and the sound of it (this can include thunderstorms but they arn't as bad unless he directly sees the lighting flash in the sky) this is due to traumas of being electrocuted. Also unexpected physical contact like being roughly grabbed or otherwise touched without warning, especially if near his neck/head. This is also related to the traumas with electricity.

How does Ruin help, if he can? Or does he stay out of the way?

Ruin helps however he can when he can! If Eclipse is having an angry moodswing, he will keep out of his way and try not to make too much noise but keeps a close eye just in case it does turn into a seizure. If it's a more depressed/sad one then he'll stay by Eclipse side offering nuzzles, preens and lots of reassurances.

If Eclipse does have a seizure (absense) Ruin will try to guide Eclipse either to the sofa or bed (or floor if nothing else) - this may not always work but Ruin will stay with him regardless, talking with him until Eclipse comes out of it again.

If its a tonic/atonic one and Eclipse collapses, Ruin would attempt to catch him or cushion his fall and would remain with Eclipse until he woke up. Basically using the same methods of talking/cheeping til he does.

The Good Place AU

Meet the residents of The Neighborhood 110621A

Violet "Vi" Lane: A underground fighter.

Why is she in the bad place? While she did what she needed to survive in the eyes of the system she doesn't deserve to be in the good place.

Caitlyn Kiramman: Commander of Piltover Police.

Why is she in the bad place? A lot of police brutality happend in her time as commander and use chemical weapons agaisnt a whole city (Zaun).

Jayce Talis: The CEO of Hextech Industries and politician in Piltover.

Why is he in the bad place? All the contamination that Hextech produce was his fault and he did create a lot of weapons, become a corrupt politician and he was so laser focus in his goals that never realize all the people that he hurt.

Mel Medarda: The Heiress of the Medarda Family and an important politician in Piltover.

Why is she in the bad place? All her "good deeds" never came of a genuine place just as display to prove her mother wrong, also she did have a lack of empathy for other people (the closest one to a character in the show) and she was also a corrupt politician maybe not the worst but her actions still screw over people.

All the humans have really embarrassing deaths in the show. So what do you guys think how did they died?

"Silco": Not the real Silco, that one is in the real bad place, but a demon that took the form of Silco since he was a person that is related to all of the characters that intervine in their lives either directly or indirectly, so having to deal with him as a "good guy" is a hit to their pride.

Still unsure if he takes the form of young Silco or the one of the good timeline.

Viktoria: She would take the place of Janet in these AU. I'll would be her journey of becoming more human and discovering her new emotions. She's a "faulty" model so she needs her cane.

Bad Viktoria would be The Machine Herald.

She create Jayce Giopara in a moment of jealousy.

commish for @thebigboy71 continuing his Fully Charged Captain Mega idea.

Below is the full Captain Mega backstory that might be filled in more at a later date, and while it was meant to slide more neatly into the cartoon originally in my mind, I went the heck with it and made it into a full on Fully Charged AU.

In this version of events, Captain Mega was the inspiration for Protoman, Namagem and Megaman for a young Dr. Light. Suna is present during the Hard Wars as a toddler just to make a better family connection with her brothers. I don't remember the exact time gap between the Hard Wars and modern era, so we'll say it wasn't that long between the eras.

The Hard Wars specifically were a war between the Emerald Spears, based on the Archie MegaMan group, and Robot Masters, with the Robot Masters having human allies like Dr. Light as they believe the two can work together, as per the original cartoon.

It's unclear who built Captain Mega originally, but Thomas Light looked up to him, as even before the Hard Wars, he was looked on as a superhero by humans and robots alike. He became a paragon of justice during the Hard Wars, but his inevitable skirmish with Sergent Breaker, saw his original body damaged beyond repair, causing Dr. Light to rebuild Captain Mega into MegaMini to save his life.

While Dr. Light built Protoman, AKA Breakman, using what he gleaned from Captain Mega based on some assumptions, he used the full access he had to Captain to update ProtoMan, rebuild Namagem and perfect Megaman.

Sergent Breaker had one last trick up his sleeve, having reprogrammed the massive robot Gamma to attack after Captain Mega was thought dead. The combined might of Suna's brothers, now with Captain Mega's power, was able to defeat Breaker and Gamma... but it caused MegaMan to be rebooted into Aki, while Protoman and Namagem disappeared after the final battle.

Sergent Breaker would capture Namegem as in the original fiction, but reverse engineer his Captain tech to build his Obsidian robotic body and corrupt Megaman's middle brother.

With Aki's circuitry rebooted, he became Suna's big-little brother as she aged, with the two becoming friends with the fanboy-bot Iceman in middle school. Because of Aki's lost memories, MegaMini took it upon himself to guide the young bot, his true successor in the ways of being a Mega Hero.

Maybe your favorite character overall is a member of the main cast, but now it's time to pick somebody from the sidelines to appreciate just as much!

Sick Fic:

What a classic we've got here today, folks. You don't necessarily have to write a fic for this (though it's totally encouraged)! Just create anything you want involving those down days. Characters getting sick in fiction can help show off so many neat and hidden traits, so be creative and make whatever you see fit (or not fit, because somebody is sick)!

PETS! What more could you even ask for? We've got only a few pets to thrive off of in the show, so lets show some love to them… or maybe think up some original ones! Maybe somebody has a secret pet, or maybe there was a random line of dialogue about a pet at some point? Who knows what could happen, but it ought to be great.

Now here's something real intriguing… PSYQualia was the fictional power used to communicate with the Planet Cray and the illustrated cards that came from it, but it had drawbacks. Will you represent it in its corruptive origins, or its positive future? Go for it!

Memories:

I'm sure everyone has some kind of fond memories that came from Vanguard, or maybe you'll want to represent how memories are presented by the characters! A large amount of the series revolves around memories, surprisingly enough- Misaki's whole life is pretty much centered around them, and Seasons 2 and 4 seriously threw us for a doozy. Let's make this a day to remember!

Day 3: Favorite Outfit | Fluff | Magic AU

Favorite Outfit:

YIPPEE!!! Maybe that's a little exaggerated, but c'mon- who doesn't love a good outfit. Vanguard's got some seriously cool fits, if not just for the characters, then on the card art! Look around and find your inspiration, or maybe even create an outfit you'd think would be a fan favorite!

Fluff:

No one could ever lie and say they don't like fluff. Sweetness, love, care, and everything in-between. It can be soft, tooth-rotting, comforting! Do as you please and pick out your favorite fantasies for this one, we're sure it'll be more than appreciated.

Magic AU

Vanguard has its fair share of magical elements! But what if they got taken in slightly different way, a step to the left? Or maybe even a leap! Are they all wizardly figures? Magical girls? Maybe there's just something 'magical' in the air? Go wild, throw out a magic-based alternate universe!

Day 4: Favorite Relationship | Betrayal | Cray & Lore

Favorite Relationship:

Besties, lovers, enemies, and everything in-between, everyone loves a compelling relationship. But which one is your favorite? Are you enamored with the way some characters hate each other? Uh oh… There's no shortage of evil in Vanguard, and betrayal can come from anywhere. Does it coincide with the Reverse, PSYqualia, or maybe just human nature? Pick an act of betrayal or make up your own, because - no matter what, it's gonna hurt real good.

The planet Cray is SO COOL and SO UNEXPLORED! Delve deep into the lore of the planet, or think up something fresh and cool for it! Blaster Blade and Dragonic Overlord are only the tip of this awesome iceberg, and there's endless things to explore!

Favorite Episode:

Can you even believe there's 196 episodes JUST in the original run, and hundreds more after that? With all that Vanguard, you're bound to have some favorite episodes! Let's all skim through the runs and pick a favorite to represent, there's so so so many to enjoy!

Family:

Family comes in all shapes and sizes, and the Vanguard characters became a family over and over again, without a doubt. Choose a family in Vanguard, by blood or not, to create for, and enjoy!

Birthday:

We've got TWO BIRTHDAYS THIS WEEK! Today is Mamoru Anjou's birthday, and Kourin Tatsunagi's is on the 13th of October! Show them some extra love, or maybe pick another birthday to celebrate! We love our characters, and their birthdays, whether fictional or not, are always fun.

Day 6: Favorite Clan | Crossover | Secret Identity

Favorite Clan:

I know, I know… This might be an impossible task. But we have to try! Pick a Vanguard clan that you can call your favorite, and show it some appreciation! This can extend out to newer or old standards of clan systems, in any way you like!

Crossover:

Vanguard has endless opportunities to pair up with other series, it's all pretty open! Crossovers are ALWAYS FUN, and it's refreshing to play with other media that we also love! Maybe one of your favorite shows has Vanguard cards in it now, or maybe Vanguard characters are in the book you're reading or new anime you're watching! Who knows, have fun!

Secret Identity:

Oooh… A secret! There's already representation of this trope in Vanguard plenty of times! Remember Ninja Master M, and the Team Unknown debacle? The time Kyou was the Abominable Snowman? Maybe even make up your own, go wild! Whether it's online or behind a mask, there's plenty of ways to hide your identity. But remember- it's a secret!

Day 7: Favorite Parallel | Endings & New Beginnings | FREE

Favorite Parallel:

Contrasting motives in media is probably one of the most exciting things I could ever think of. What contrasts and parallels do you see in Vanguard? Blaster Dark and Blaster Blade, perhaps? Character arcs, episode structures, the lore of the cards and the journey of our protagonists... There's parallels everywhere. Delve deep for this one, and find something really interesting to analyze!

Endings and New Beginnings:

Vanguard has some of our absolute favorite endings and beginnings ever, so why not go ahead and show them off? The transition of each arc, each era, each generation, is something to be celebrated. May it be the end of a big tournament, or the beginning of a new season altogether, or something totally different and unexpected!

The Codywan Fake Imperial Husbands AU (full working title: Fake Imperial Husbands of the Infinite Sith Sadness, or FIHOTISS) is an homage to/collaboration with this 'verse created by @frostbitebakery. It's a Purge Trooper Cody/Sith Lord Obi-Wan AU with a couple twists, and without giving too much away I can say the fic is going to be a 5+1 involving subterfuge and angst and hopefully some mystery. Here's a wee drafty snippet:

When CC-2224 returned to consciousness, he detected an unknown material covering his face and hands. A mixed-textile fabric. Garment-standard stitching and humanoid tailoring. A coat. It was Lord Tash’s coat, black and heavy - soft. The fibers were thick and soft against his fingers, not as rough as the robes.  CC-2224 blinked. An error. He detected a matching error: the coat was black and soft, but it smelled like - internal memory search initiated - like bergamot, like - warning: file corruptions detected - General Kenobi, he thought, the gray washing over him like a wave before - Initiate full system reboot.

(This is not reboot continuity- I just needed a pretty picture.)

I've seen this concept done in three ways-

Outright turn the kids stereotypically evil. This works in the short term, but it's not good for character anaylsis/DigiDestined rotation. The "quick and dirty" option, basically.

Invert the Crests. So the Crest of Courage becomes the Crest of Fear. I found only one cool Tim Burton-esque art set that did this well. I can't find it now. But generally, I've never been satisfied with these. Especially because they have to work around the "Crest of Darkness" every goddamn time...

Work with the kids' weaknesses. So the Crest of Courage becomes the Crest of Recklessness. This is probably my favorite option.

I want to go more in-depth on the last one, and that's why we've gathered here today. Only instead of just working with the canon weaknesses...what if I tweaked the kids's pasts so their "worst event" never happened? What kind of people would they become?

Also alternate Digimon partners because wheeeee I like them.

Tai- The Crest of Arrogance

Impmon-> Punkmon-> Loudmon-> HeavyMetaldramon

This was an easy one because he's my blorbo. The event I chose to erase was also an easy pick. What if Tai never brought Kari out to play soccer that day? I rotated this for a bit and concluded that the athletics aspect of his character would take over, making him a sort of asshole jock type.

Tai still possesses a natural charisma, leadership ability, and recklessness. But his rule is delivered with an iron fist. It doesn't matter if he's on the soccer pitch or in the Digital World. His rule is simply law. His leadership potential and cruelty are magnified to the point that even adults don't want to get on his bad side.

Tai's self-centered and not afraid to bash your face in if you disagree with him. Your name doesn't have to be "Matt" either. He thinks of himself as a great hero, and anyone who disagrees with him must be another antagonist there to ruin his day. But in reality, he's barely keeping the group together with glue made of terror.

Impmon may be a cliche choice, but I chose him for his Punkmon evolution line. They're still reptilian, while also being loud, belligerent, and always looking for a fight. I also just like HeavyMetaldramon in general. He's got a dumb name I can't help but love, plus he looks like another favorite who will come into play later.

Matt- The Crest of Manipulation

Gazimon-> Sangloupmon-> Astamon-> GranDracmon

Matt's "special event" was obvious, too. His parents never got divorced in this AU (an event that will come into play with TK too, naturally). Since this event controls a lot more of Matt's character than Tai's event, I had to think a minute for him. I decided to fuck with his sense of empathy and dub characterization. Because Matt can be as emotionally mature and sensitive as Sora, even if he can't always make that obvious.

So what if he used that trait for evil?

On the surface, Matt's the cool rebel of the group. His suave surface nature makes him easy to approach. One might even call him a friend, even if they know nothing about him. However, he knows how to play with feelings. Like any good instrument, you keep plucking strings until you get the result you and. And that's exactly how Matt views people. Before you can blink, he's got what he wanted and dumped you on the side of the road.

Astamon and GranDracmon are both smooth-talking demon Digimon. Astamon attracts a lot of followers, while GranDracmon can talk any angel Digimon into "falling down". I figured they'd be a perfect fit (though I was admittedly thinking of the Astamon from Young Hunters). Gazimon and Sangloupmon kept the canine theme without being Gabumon recolors.

(Fun fact- I've used this line before for an OC, but that character was (in the end) benign.)

Sora- The Crest of Ambition

Dracumon-> BlackGatomon-> Bastemon-> Lilithmon

It would have been easy to make Sora the emotional manipulator. Too easy. And it wouldn't have anything to do with her issue- namely, her controlling mother. But what if her mother was a little more lax? No- MORE lax than that. What if she supported her daughter no matter what- even if those ambitions skewed too extreme?

Woe be to anyone who gets in this Sora's way. It doesn't matter what she has her eye on. She'll get it, and she'll gladly step on you if you get in the way. She's never heard "no" before, and has no time or desire to hear it from you.

Her Crest of Love has become a type of Lust, but not in the sexual sense. It's desire. Passion. It's never-ending want. The cup is never full for Sora. There's still more drink to be had. There will never be enough.

I worked my way backwards from Lilithmon, choosing Digimon with mind control abilities and ambitious personalities. This means we get a recolor of Gatomon- despite my efforts to avoid recolors of the canon crew- but oh well.

Joe- The Crest of Sloth

Phascomon-> Porcupamon-> Mephismon-> Belphemon

Joe's "problem" in Adventure is also heavy expectations, much like Sora. Taking them away could result in an overly ambitious character. But for Joe, I went the opposite direction. What if he was a person with no ambitions at all?

Paralyzed by his own fears and no goal in life, Joe is more follower than leader. He carries out orders without a thought to his own life or safety, because he believes his life to be meaningless. With certain people in this corrupted crew, however, that means he's carrying out plenty of evil deeds. He's not necessarily evil himself, however- just without direction.

I worked my way back from a Demon Lord again- this time Belphemon. He's naturally the Demon Lord of Sloth (for those who don't live in the Digital World inside their minds). I chose Mephismon just to connect the Champion to the Mega, and also because he's a demonic Digimon.

And that's about it for Joe. I wish I could do more, but it's hard to add personality to a character with no goals.

Mimi- The Crest of Selfishness

Aruraumon-> Zassomon-> Blossomon-> Rafflesimon

Otamamon->ShogunGekomon (warp)

Mimi doesn't have family issues like the rest of the cast. The problem is she's spoiled. So instead of erasing her backstory, I decided to erase her character development. Certain events like Sora convincing her to leave the Gekomon don't happen in this timeline. They can't, after all, with how different everyone else is.

This results in a Mimi who only acts in her own self interest. Maybe not at first. Maybe she thinks the others are pure evil. But that changes. Thanks to the attention lavished upon her by the Otamamon and Gekomon, she's essentially Princess Mimi full time. Woe be to the poor idiot who gets under her high heels!

I decided to go with recolors for this line just because it made more sense to corrupt Palmon than to invent a new partner. Perhaps Mimi was originally a "pure" force introduced to keep the others in line. But her own flaws were waiting to consume her...

Also- similar to how Leomon was able to digivolve thanks to Tai's Digivice, one of the Otamamon gained the same power from Mimi's. That's why she has two Digimon. And you can bet others like Chuumon/Sukamon, the Numemon, and more follow the army of Princess Mimi.

Izzy- The Crest of Intellect

Hagurumon-> Mekanorimon-> Vademon-> EBEmon

I know what you're thinking- I'm a lazy-ass and replaced "Knowledge" with a synonym. And you're right! But with the event I removed being Izzy's knowledge of his adoption, his intelligence didn't go away. Instead of retreating, he expanded outwards. Think Ken when he was roleplaying the Digimon Emperor, but with no Wormmon to hold him back.

Izzy is smarter than you and he knows it. Similar to Matt, he's outplayed you before you can even say hello. He doesn't have Matt's charm, but he doesn't need it. You're too stupid to counteract him, anyway. He can hack your systems before you've realized a single thing amiss. Maybe he'll even let you believe things are fine for a day or two...

Like Sora and Mimi, he hasn't encountered any problems. A snag in Izzy's plans is always temporary. But hit him in his unstable emotional core, and you may have a chance of saving your laptop. But the resulting revenge is bound to be devastating....

I was going to do a full machine Digimon line, but then veered into Vademon. The big brain design caught my attention. Also, since regular Izzy had troubles with a Vademon, having his dark half master this Digimon has interesting implications for my brain.

TK- The Crest of Terror

DemiDevimon-> Devidramon->DexDoruGreymon-> Megidramon

Remember how I cut the divorce from canon? This means TK grew up with Matt, who- in this timeline- is an emotional abuser. And of course, his favorite target is his doting little brother, who will do anything he says.

Like Joe, TK's not evil. He just lives in a constant state of fear. He'll apologize as his Digimon tears you into bite-sized pieces- all while proclaiming his love for his brother. Whether Matt tells him to act as a distraction or kill, it doesn't matter. He'll do it, knowing he'll get no reward.

But TK wants a reward. Matt's his whole world. It's always been that way. Unfortunately he sees no other existence. Without Matt, he simply doesn't exist.

Megidramon is one of my favorite Digimon, so I had to squeeze him in somehow. I like to think TK's partner is a manifestation of his true feelings. Though he loves his brother, he's also disgusted by him. If given the slightest bit of leash, he'd turn the monster loose on Matt- and regret it for the rest of his life.

(And yes- a DemiDevimon did mess with TK in canon...convincing him his brother didn't love him...it's only a matter of time...)

Kari- The Crest of Despair

Salamon-> Meicoomon->Meicrackmon Vicious Mode-> Mastemon

Despair is kind of similar to Darkness, and I've seen it used on a few of these sorts of things. But it's not like "the opposite of Light is Darkness" because it's an actual character trait. And it's a direction Kari could go without her brother's love to support her.

Kari's in a similar boat as TK. She's lived her whole life with a bastard of a brother. But she also has a host of illnesses. Just once, she'd love her brother to visit her in the hospital. But he never came. Soccer was a useful excuse, or else his parents were too scared to command him.

Now, they're trapped in the Digital World together, and it's no secret that Kari's the chain around Tai's ankle. He certainly hasn't kept that information from her, finally losing his patience when she falls ill in Machinedramon's territory. She always held on to hope that he was a good big brother deep down. Now proven wrong, she's in a vegetative state of despair.

Like with Mimi, I just corrupted Gatomon instead of making a new character. But I started from her Rookie stage of Salamon. We're gonna pretend tri. never happened for this. As for Mastemon? Gatomon DID reach her Angewomon stage, and that data still exists within her. But it mixed with the dark despair created by her partner. Instead of falling entirely, she became a deadly being that exists between light and darkness.

Odds and Ends

This ramble does imply that evil Digimon like Myotismon were still killed. This was not out of charity. They simply got in the way and were disposed of.

The Digital World still chose the kids during the Greymon/Parrotmon fight, when they were young and innocent, having no idea what would happen in the future. Mimi was the OG damage control, with a pure and sincere nature that might be able to purify the others.

When Mimi failed, Kari's shining light had to take over. It worked for a little while- mostly for TK and Joe, who are not malicious.

When Tai polished off Kari's light, TK finally snapped. His Megidramon responded to his anger, attempting to destroy Tai. This Digimon ran into a blockade in the form of HeavyMetaldramon. Not sure which of the two would win this fight, but it would be cool at least. The loser probably wouldn't make it out alive, though...

As previously mentioned, tri didn't happen. 02 still could, with Davis/Cody/Yolei/non-evil Ken being the third attempt to keep these damn kids in line. Maybe they receive help from TK, Joe, and what's left of Kari. But that's an AU within an AU and I'm already tired.

Mimi never returned to the Real World when the castle has all she wants. She mostly operates from there, keeping in touch with the others via Digimon like Soundbirdmon.

My Pitch for a Powerpuff Girls Teenage Series

Okay, you all have probably heard by now of the atrocious reboot of the Powerpuff girls CW almost made. The one that involved sexual topics, nudes being leaked, the main characters cheating their partners, Professor Utonium being a bad dad, worms mind controlling and Mojo Jojo being a human and having a son who becomes the mayor of Townsville...

It's easy to see why it didn't work, let's be honest...

Since I already watched Powerpuff girls and follow @leecheedoodles 's content of future Power Puff girls (plus some other experiences with fan content)... I managed to come up with my own idea for a show.

This idea includes:

More mature topics, but no sex (the target audience is the same of the Owl House, not Riverdale).

PPG x RRB (cause after all AUs I read... I can't exclude this shipping from the story. And I think the fans deserve to have their ship canon after so many years).

Presence of characters from... other CN cartoons (If CW can make random crossovers, so can I).

Maybe one or two concepts from Power Puff Girls Z.

The idea of this show is being animated (cause fuck Live Action. As someone who is studying to be an animator someday, can't corporations stop acting as if Live Actions are better and improvements from their cartoon selves?)

Without further ado... let's start!

The Plot of the Show

The Powerpuff Girls protected the city of townsville many years ago. However, one day, they left to explore the universe and solve problems across the planets. One day, however, during one of their missions, they came across an ancient evil that they end up unleashing on the world.

An evil that's made of Chemical X... just like them, but, different... almost as if it's a corrupt version of Chemical X.

The evil, after unleashed, travels to the only planet where the remaining Chemical X exists: Earth. And their main target is the city with the most Chemical X: Townsville.

So, after years, the Powerpuff girls (now as teenagers between the ages of 14-16), are forced to go back to their home town, and defeat this ancient evil.

However, besides needing to face old villains that have been empowered by this corrupted Chemical X, the girls will also be facing their own struggles back at school.

Blossom, across the years, grew smarter and smarter, getting knowledges on technology from other planets that are far beyond those on Earth.

Since she has more knowledge than the majority of her classmates, she is feeling excluded, unable of interacting with them, and feeling left out by those who see her as "an annoying know-it-all".

She only finds some joy after meeting a rival that's it's on her level: a science prodigy called Dexter.

Bubbles, meanwhile, ends up becoming really popular at her new school. At first, her main struggle is how to balance this popularity with her hero struggles. But then, she slowly notices how superficial her friendships are, and starts feeling lonely.

Buttercup, during her adventures on space, became a well-known athlete across multiverse.

But, now on Earth, she is struggling due to no sports team accepting her due to her powers giving her an "unfair advantage".

Will the girls save the day and manage to handle their struggles of teenagehood?

Will they succumb to the pressure and lose against this new evil?

Okay, I probably won't make this a full-blown thing, but I may comment on some of the characters' plots and roles (like how the Rowdyrough Boys enter the scene.)

WAIT HANG ON TODAY'S THE PERFECT EXCUSE TO TALK ABOUT THE KHUX DIGIMON AU--

Okay. Okay, so, part of the main plot of KHUX is that they're stuck in a digital version of their world, and getting trapped in the digital world is just like...a standard Digimon plot, haha. So it doesn't take too much reworking to make the KHUX plot for this.

Basically, the idea would be that, instead of MoM recruiting kids to be Keyblade wielders, he's recruiting people to play this new virtual reality game. Each player gets teamed up with their own Digimon, and they log on to do daily quests, can join different groups, etc.

Just like in KHUX, Ephemer realizes Something's Up; in this case, he suspects the Digimon are actual, living things (we're really leaning on the standard Digimon plots here), and that MoM is recruiting them for some OTHER reason besides testing the game.

And...he's right! Basically, the digital world has some sort of entity that's slowing destroying it. MoM's familiar with the legends of "chosen children" partnering with Digimon to save the world, and is mass-recruiting people to basically like...brute force that. Like in KHUX, a lot of kids die for this. The Union Leaders end up being the designated "Chosen Children" and end up trapped in the digital world until they can save it.

...Of course, MoM doesn't actually have the power to choose the 'destined heroes,' so this goes awry. One: Skuld and Ephemer rescue the Player and drag them along with them, and Two: the entity MoM's trying so hard to get rid of catches wind of the plan and hijacks it. (The whole Ven and Strelitzia switch thing.)

There's a lot of stuff that plays out similarly to UX after that, with the caveat that they KNOW they're stuck in a digital world this time: they discover Ven's an imposter, the entity manifests to fight them, Ven and his Digimon sacrifice themselves to save the others, the world starts to fall, and they find a way out. The way out's still pretty flawed--it's something that Brain essentially hacked into the game--so people still end up in the wrong places/with spotty memories once they're out.

Skuld, Ephemer, and the Player still get stopped at the end by the entity, and the Player and their partner still fight them. In this case, though, they're fighting them to try and force them out--and staying behind to stall the entity long enough to force them to die with the falling world. It works.

Anyway, the UX crew and their Digimon end up in the real world, but separated, with memories spotty, though with the impression that they're missing something important. They'll probably go looking for each other eventually, but uh, that's as far as I've got for the moment, haha!

As for partners and where people end up:

Player would have Gatomon! (Gatomon -> Angewomon -> Magnadramon line) Partly because the fact that Gatomon is a cat like Chirithy, partly because Chirithy's English VA is the same as Kari's VA (Gatomon's partner in the anime). I imagine the OG Player ends up as like...a digital ghost after they die? Maybe Player 2 and the members of the Baroque Society are friends and end up poking through the remains of "Daybreak Town," and Player 2 starts to slowly pick up memories from Player 1, which starts to make their identity feel...blurred.

Ven's original partner is Lopmon (Lopmon -> Turuiemon -> Antylamon -> Cherubimon Vice/Virtue). Since Ven's a "pure light" in KH canon, I figured it'd be fun if he was partnered with the member of the Three Great Angels that was most famously corrupted. Lopmon is kind of... possessed and rebooted by the entity, and so doesn't get to escape with Ven. Ven ends up being found by Terra, Aqua, and Eraqus and taken in. (Not 100% sure what's going on with Eraqus and Xehanort; maybe they were part of the of the original, REAL chosen children, but they failed because the entity possessed Baldr and his partner and they killed everyone else?) Ven I think later ends up with a Pteromon he accidentally befriends, who encourages him to go looking for the things he's missing. (Maybe Eraqus reveals a little of his history to Terra and Aqua here because he needs to get Ven back? And sends them out with their own, newly-obtained partners.)

(Side note, but I think when Ven leaves the digital world the first time, he leaves behind a digital "copy" of himself that was influenced by the entity. This is Vanitas, who I think inherits a corrupted/reborn Lopmon. He has most of OG Ven's memories.)

@hallowed-nebulae said at one point that he'd probably pair Ephemer with Coronamon and Skuld with Lunamon so they could fuse into GraceNovamon for the final battle, and I honestly LOVE that idea. Alternatively, I could see Ephemer with Dorumon (Dorumon -> Raptordramon -> Grademon -> Alphamon) for the whole "leader of the Royal Knights"/leader of the Union Leaders" thing. Ephemer I think does the best job retaining his memories, though things are still spotty. He and his partner work on trying to rebuild the digital world.

If Skuld didn't end up with Lunamon, I think Gammamon (Gammamon -> BetelGammamon -> Canoweissmon -> Siriusmon) would be a good fit for the connection to the stars. I think Xehanort still finds her? If we go with the "Xehanort was one of the OG chosen children" thing, maybe he became like... obsessed with that and takes Skuld in because he found another one "like him." (Maybe he finds Vanitas, too, even if Vanitas is still trapped in the digital world? And trains him and Skuld together. Vanitas and Skuld interactions have Potential.)

(OH WAIT. Fun partner idea: maybe Skuld had Lunamon originally, but passes her on to Isa to protect her/because Xehanort has implied SOMETHING is going to happen and she wants to make sure Isa and Lea remember her, and THEN she gets Gammamon. Since GulusGammamon has a full line, I could see her having that at first, before moving into the main BetelGammamon line.)

(Also Gammamon's bandana reminds her of someone and she doesn't know who.)

Brain would get Keramon (Keramon -> Chrysalimon -> Infermon -> Diaboromon) because he says he's going to be "the virus that rewrites the program," and Keramon is a LITERAL virus. I think maybe Sigurd works for MoM and gets sent out to bring at least one of the UX crew in and try again? I'd guess that Brain realizes something's up at some point.

Lauriam would have Floramon (Floramon -> Kiwimon -> Blossomon -> BloomLordmon) because of the flower theme, and because Bloomlordmon reminds me of Marluxia, haha. Not 100% sure what happens with him; I kind of like the idea of him and Elrena doing their own thing? Maybe Elrena was part of the game originally, but had to quit playing or something, and she ends up teaming up with Lauriam after he reappears, since she knew his sister.

(Elrena I could see with Herissmon or Pulsemon? A little undecided there.)

Strelitzia gets Leomon. Just so everyone knows exactly what's going to happen to her :). (Okay, but outside of the "Leomon always dies" joke, Pomumon -> Parasaurmon -> Toropiamon -> Hydramon would work.)

The nice part of this AU is that the UX crew can actually all reunite with each other eventually! Since they're just scattered across space, and not time.
