My intersex variation made everyone around me stop treating me like a girl and I was punished relentlessly by everyone if I tried to be feminine

Only when I started identifying as a guy (which was wrong and didn't make me happy) did I start being treated better. And everyone kept saying shit like "oh yeah we already saw you as a man" essentially.

I was put on testosterone literally a few weeks after "coming out" as a man and even when voicing my discomfort about being on it they attempted to coerce me into staying on it

I did not fit into what they saw as female, so they decided that I had to be male to be "normal"

The Fundie Baby Voice™️ has been popping up a lot in ex-christian spaces lately and I actually had one in middle school and part of high school! I learned when and where to use it and how to turn up my southern accent just enough. I can still do it but it sounds weird after 3 years on T. The main place I used it was at church cause it made me sound sweet and polite. I used it for old ladies when I worked at a grocery store too. My family didn't like it when we were just all together cause they said it sounded like baby talk, but loved it when I used it at church cause everyone would tell them how sweet and soft-spoken I was

My therapist said it actively made him feel uncomfortable when I used that voice. He couldn't quite put his finger on why it made him uncomfortable (other than him only knowing me on T) but he very much did not like it and he's so so right for that

anecdote -- yk when you read something and then think "wow, I wish I could experience this again for the first time"? I did that!

considering. alternate fmab ending where ed doesn't get his arm back and after he quits the military he switches to a regular leg prosthesis and no arm prosthesis. his automail was always chosen because it let him be useful and effective in the context of becoming a dog of the military, and i think switching to a less painful/intrusive combination of mobility aids (one that doesn't stunt his growth and give him nerve pain) is a fitting symbol of him giving up the lifestyle that necessitated automail in the first place.
