( so i haven't even started my new job yet - though i have my first "training" shift tomorrow! - and i already am loving it so more than my current location i swear. the manager has already messaged me so many times about excited and grateful she is for me joining her team, and it feels so nice to have a manager actually appreciating my work and wanting to help me with getting hours and such. unlike my current managers, who tell me i'm their best host but then cut my hours in favor of the new host who keeps trying to call out already 🙃 )

Rn I’m reading dead silence by s. A. Barnes and I’m hooked… basically a space crew on the way back from repairs finds the spaceship version of the titanic that disappeared decades ago, and after much discussion they go on board to find the black box (and stuff to sell, since some of them have a need for money more than respect for the dead) and they find out that whatever happened is way more horrifying than they could have expected. I think the characters are pretty standard archetypes but they’re fun to see interact but the protagonist is really cool because she has ptsd + I can definitely see her being autistic as well and I like how she’s written. And like you gotta wonder is there something actually paranormal going on? Are the hallucinations she had as a child actually real? I wanna get answers soooooo badly
#I don’t really have any theories but I don’t think it’s aliens#I would not be surprised if one of the corporations was involved but I can’t think of a good reason#like killing this many billionaires does not sound like a smart move on their part no matter the payoff#maybe a rival company sabotaged like verux fucked them over so they could buy up citifutura#and maybe Claire can just see ghosts it be like that sometimes#p

headed to the post office today to mail out letters i wrote and never sent. didn’t mean to color match them all since i wrote them over several months
#one of these is from january….#and another was a reply to the person the january letter was for#when they sent me a letter in april like ‘hi please don’t be dead’ so i wrote them back#and then decided i still didn’t want to talk to anyone ever again and never sent it#other two are for people i knew irl who just moved away#ones a work friend who took up a corporate position at our company LOL#so we still chat over the work dms but we were talking stationery before she left and then pen pals happened i guess#and the last one is for a distant friend who just went to dallas#i saw a booklet online where you buy it and get a free coffee from 30 different coffee places in dallas#so i bought it and im finally going to mail it to her#i put a bracelet in the april letter and some loose stickers in the january one i think#and in the letter to my work friend i put some tea leaves of my favorite blend and instructions on how to steep them#and in the letter to the girl i know who went to dallas i sprayed it with cheap lavender body spray#for funsies lol
