Decided to write a small Coroika story. Still a WIP, but I’m liking how it’s turning out, considering I don’t make literature very often ^^ Made this during my downtime at work; it was nice ^^
decided to post this in my art blog, since technically literature counts as art lol

Shadow Port Ninja
They say that, in the middle of the night, over in Port Mackerel, you can see a silhouetted figure dashing over the area. Whenever it sees someone, it snatches them away with its giant hands, and endlessly stretchy arms. You can't ever see the true face, shrouded in hate and anger. When the moon crosses over it's face, you might even be able to get a glimpse... of 3 eyes and green haze and drool spiraling out of it's mouth! It's a god of vengeance, I'm sure of it. The question is... What's its checklist for snatching people away to its lair, anyway?
>Octoglasses' testimony. Based on info she picked up on online rumors and word-of-mouth. Seems that she knows a lot for being a beach-bound bimbo...
So let me get this straight... The "Shadow Port Ninja" thing isn't a bit, it's actually legit?! Ugh, man...! Now I owe Scuba 3700c. Don't think Army would mind if I "borrowed" that kinda money now, would he? How in the world do I get home? Ah well, maybe I can snap a few pics of the thing itself once I see it, huh? What'll I have to do to get out? Do you think Straw'll notice that I'm missing? Or maybe she thinks this is ALSO part of a bit? Now I'm gonna miss the newest episode of Glee...
Wait...! I see it! The Shadow Port Ninja! It's... Backwards?! Yeah... The face and stance are obviously him! He must've saw me heading here... But why'd he yoink me here? Don't tell me... is he still salty about the Safari thing? Man, it was ONE TIME! Literally 4 years ago! Why are you still mad about that?! Damnit... I'm gonna hafta call Silver over for something, aren't I? Nah, I think I can wait for a bit. This thing has rumors attached to it for days, she must've heard about it. Well... Better scrounge around for the 3700c, right? Yeah.

Today's Coroika Crack Ship Is!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Backwards and Red Sole!
So we have two slosher players with us here today. Their dynamic is here as follows; Red Sole one day randomly goes up to Backwards and is like, You seem cute, let's hang out. Backwards cannot believe his luck, he's hanging out with an X rank player. He goes to tell the others, but nobody actually believes that he pulled Red Sole. So Backwards tries to prove that it's true but is either unlucky and can never successfully get any proof that he's with Red Sole or Red Sole is actually just messing with him, that's up to interpretation. Either way, to simplify this, their dynamic is Backwards is hanging out with Red Sole who is wayyyy out of his league.

[go right]
Gloves made a sharp turn towards the right, his running beginning to slow down from weariness. His running began to slow down from wearines. He heard a familiar voice from behind him.
“Hey! Captain! Need a hand?”
Gloves perked up, looking over his shoulder. His face lit up with excitement. “Clips!”
Gloves slowed his run to a walk. Clips caught up to him, offering to take the Rainmaker.
“I think we lost them, for the most part,” Clips explained, “We should keep going, just because they aren’t following us doesn’t mean they’re gone. I splatted that inkling from earlier, but I doubt she’ll stay down for long.”
Gloves nodded. He drew his pair of dualies. “Then let’s not waste another second! You go on ahead, I’ll be right behind you.”
Swiftly, the two continued down the street. The golden hour sunset peeked at them through the cracks of the buildings.
“I wonder how Half Rim and Straps are doing,” Gloves said aloud as they hurried along.
As the two continued to run, Gloves could swear he heard footsteps following closely behind them. He skidded to a stop, looking around but seeing no one was around him.
Gloves looked around cautiously, he took a hesitant step forward. “Clips, something’s not right— I think—”
Before Gloves could even finish his sentence, there was a sharp blast of cold wind. Vintage dashed in front of Gloves, popping out of some other alleyway. Gloves could barely process what happened. A ballpoint splatling was driven into his stomach. Gloves gasped as he was hurled backwards and thrown against a wall.
Gloves winced, crumpling to the ground. He coughed up ink and stumbled to his knees.
“Captain!” Clips exclaimed, turning around.
“Don’t worry about me!” Gloves snapped,  “I got this, just keep going! I’ll catch up, I promise!”
Clips took a step backwards. “But Captain, what about—”
“Just go!” Gloves winced, wiping green ink onto his sleeve.
Clips nodded hesitantly, before turning around and running away.
Vintage scoffed, dropping the ballpoint splatling at his side.
“How pathetic,” he said, dusting his hands off. He brushed aside his black coat, revealing the sheath of a sword. He drew a silver cutlass, pointing it towards Gloves. “I won't even need a splatling to finish you off.”
“Really? You’re bringing a knife to a gunfight?” Gloves almost laughed, “How do you expect to do anything with that? I could just dodge with my dualies.”
“Then let’s see it,” Vintage mumbled.
Gloves dashed forward, launching a volley of ink at Vintage. Vintage sprinted out of the way. He lunged forward, swinging the sword. Gloves ducked as the blade flew over his head. He quickly rolled to the side, pulling out a splat bomb and throwing it at Vintage. Vintage twirled the sword in his hand. He dashed forward and slashed clean through the splat bomb. The splat bomb burst mid air as Vintage dashed through it.
He swung the blade at Gloves, scratching the surface of his shirt. Gloves staggered backwards as Vintage advanced towards him. Gloves ducked as the blade swiped over his head. Gloves leaned to the side as Vintage lunged forward. The blade of the sword barely grazed the side of his face. He staggered backwards. Gloves quickly rolled forward, raising the dualies and fired another round of ink. Vintage winced as the bright green ink stained his clothes.
“Gotcha!” Gloves exclaimed.
Seizing the opportunity, Gloves sprinted forward and rolled to the side. With a confident smile on his face, Gloves launched a volley of ink towards Vintage.
Just as Gloves approached, Vintage turned around and slammed his foot into his chest with a sharp kick. Green ink splattered on Vintage’s face, but he seemed indifferent to it. Gloves was knocked backwards onto the cobblestone road. He groaned. Vintage wiped away some of the ink staining his face.
While Gloves was still down, Vintage dashed forward. Gloves couldn’t react fast enough as the sword slashed him across the face. Gloves shut his eyes, falling forward as his dualies fell out of his hands.
Gloves scowled under his breath. He wiped away some of the green ink on his face, ignoring the searing pain of the large gash that ran across his face. As he reached for his dualies, Vintage swung the sword again.
Bright green ink splattered against the cobblestone road as Gloves sat there in shock. There was another slash running across his chest in the shape of an X. Gloves could hear his heartbeat in his head, looking down at his hands stained with ink.
Vintage sheathed the sword, picking the splatling back up.
Gloves winced, staggering up and using a hand to prop himself against a wall. As Gloves took a hesitant step back, he could sense the presence of others standing around him. He looked around, seeing silhouettes of other inklings carrying their weapons.
Gloves’ eyes widened with shock.
“It really is a shame,” Vintage scoffed, “The rest of your crew didn’t stand much of a chance against us. All that’s left is to take the Rainmaker back and finish you off.”
“Wha— What did you do with Straps and Half Rim?” Gloves exclaimed. He winced, clutching his arm, “I swear if you—”
“Doesn’t matter,” Vintage responded, raising the splatling, “You should be more worried about yourself.”
Gloves huffed, looking around him. He could feel a sense of dread as he noticed the three other cyan inklings that surrounded him. This was the X Fall.
Gloves hesitated. He picked his dualies back up.
“A dodge roll. I remember reading about something like this. I just need to time this right,” Gloves thought to himself. He took a deep breath. He could see an opening just behind Vintage. All he needed to do was run. Green ink was running down the side of his head, dripping onto the ground. He wobbled a bit.
Vintage scoffed, then turned to leave. “You three finish him off. I think my work is done here. Careful not to splat him, he’ll just respawn back on his ship. I’m going to get the Rainmaker back.”
“Hey!” Gloves exclaimed, “You leave Clips alone—”
Swiftly, all of the other inklings sprinted towards Gloves. There was a sharp blast of wind that surrounded him as the three charged towards him, painting the ground beneath them. Gloves quickly rolled to the side, jumping over the ink bubbles launched from the bloblobber. He jumped up as a volley of ink flew over his head.
Gloves shook off some of the cyan ink that splashed his face. He clenched his teeth, rolling forward. He steadied himself on one knee and fired a round of shots from the dualies. Gloves was standing in the center of a bright cyan X. The other inklings seemed to back off, barely avoiding the volley of ink.
Gloves hauled himself up, turning to escape. Just as he got up, another inkling with light tetra dualies sprang at him. Gloves staggered backwards, shutting one eye as cyan ink was launched at him. He winced, tripping over his own feet.
“I promised Clips & the others I’d meet them at the ship!” Gloves exclaimed, wiping cyan ink from his face, “I’m keeping my promise, so stay out of my way!”
He dashed forward, quickly firing a round of shots and splatting one of the cyan inklings. There was a burst of green ink that splashed the ground.
“He got Double Egg!” One of them exclaimed.
Gloves sidestepped as the nautilus fired another volley of ink towards him. Without a second thought, Gloves quickly turned on his foot and started running as fast as he could.
Gloves couldn’t focus on whether or not the X Bloods followed. He couldn’t even feel the pain from his wounds. He could hear his heartbeat in his head. Gloves sprinted forward, seeing the docks in the distance.
Gloves sighed a breath of relief as he kept going. He could hear the footsteps following close behind him. Gloves looked over his shoulder, turning himself around. He quickly pulled out a splat bomb and tossed it towards the inklings.
The two jumped out of the way as the splat bomb burst into a splash of green ink. Gloves quickly pulled out another splat bomb and tossed another. Without looking back, Gloves turned around and continued down the road.
Gloves turned the corner, hurrying towards the wooden docks. He could see the bare outlines of three green inklings aboard a ship. Gloves sighed a breath of relief, then cupped a hand around his mouth.
“Guys!” Gloves exclaimed. He ducked as cyan ink flew over his head. The three inklings on the ship ran to the side railing.
“Straps! Let’s set sail!” Gloves ordered, “I’ll jump aboard!”
Bright green and cyan ink stained the floorboards of the docks. Gloves spared the X Bloods one more glance, before tossing another splat bomb towards them. Half Rim quickly picked up his splatterscope, aiming it towards the cyan inklings.
Gloves leaned to the side as green ink flew past his head. Gloves looked ahead, he took a deep breath before sprinting towards the ship. Once Gloves reached the edge of the docks, he quickly leapt forward towards the ship. The X Bloods stopped in their tracks.
Gloves landed on the wooden deck of the ship with a loud thud. He rolled to the side and slammed into the main mast. Gloves groaned, lying face-down on the deck. He rolled over onto his back, dropping both of his dualies.
The cyan inklings skidded to a stop at the edge of the dock, watching as their ship slowly drifted out of the docks.
“We lost them!” Straps exclaimed with excitement, “We did it!”
“Holy— Oh my cod,” Gloves winced, closing his eyes, “Is— Is everyone okay? Is everyone here?”
“Are we okay?!” Straps retorted, “What about you?”
The pain was starting to set in now. Gloves could feel a sense of dizziness wash over him. “I think I’ll be fine. Probably— I just need to close my eyes for a little bi—”
Half Rim walked over, jabbing Gloves with his foot. “Hey, no falling asleep just yet.”
Gloves sat up quickly, “Wait a second— Clips, what happened to Vintage? Are you—”
“By the time Vintage caught up to me, I was already almost to the docks,” Clips explained, “I just happened to catch up with Half Rim and I handed the Rainmaker to him while I distracted Vintage.
“I was no match for Vintage, but at least I bought Half Rim enough time to escape,” Clips huffed.
Gloves got a good look at his crew. Most of them were stained with cyan from battles. Half Rim was cleaning his glasses with a cloth, wiping some of the ink off it.
Gloves then looked slightly to the left.
There it was. The Golden Rainmaker.
The shimmering gold was stained with cyan and green ink from their battle. Gloves’ eyes lit up with excitement. Gloves couldn’t get up, his legs were too exhausted for him to move.
“Yeah, the X Bloods probably aren’t too happy about this,” Half Rim commented, “They’re probably going to be seeking us out now... and also every other pirate. But hey, I mean, at least we got it.”
Gloves sighed heavily, “I’m just glad you guys are okay. I don’t think the realization has sunk in yet.” He laid back down on the deck and laughed to himself.
“C’mon Captain, let’s get those injuries taken care of,” Half Rim said, “Then, we’ll figure out what to do next.” He extended his hand and hauled Gloves back to his feet.

=================
I hope you all enjoyed the final chapter! It's honestly been so fun working on this. I almost filled my writing notebook full of scenes for this. I'm really happy to write this, it's had its ups and downs but I'm overall happy with finishing it :]
I reread the manga for this chapter, I guess I forgot that Gloves and Vintage played Rainmaker. Either way it was coincidental lmao. Fun fact though! Initially I was going to have Gloves fight the S4 or someone else, the choices just ended up boiling down to the X Bloods :"
I have a whole chart of all of the decisions! :D
Also, I might write a bonus chapter :]
Maybe I'll do something like this again sometime. This was fun ^^ Either way I can't wait to write more for this AU, I still have a lot more ideas I want to put together.
Once again thank you all for your support and encouraging me to continue. And a special thank you to @xxbanditoxx for keeping me motivated to work on this and supporting me!!
Have a great day/night! :D

oh no what if Safari was a girl hamsmdkemeksekmdmfjr
well it would make Aloha a bigger perv for literally stripping a girl, Safari would be self conscious if he was a girl, things in the plot would probably go worse...
let’s just think of the present, like HEADCANON (made by @sunny-fishy btway) Safari just goes on a big rant at Backwards for not knowing it wasnt him but Aloha in that match and the girls are just 👁👁
