Core Hunt Double Drops From 5:00 A.M. on Apr. 30 to 4:59 A.M. on May. 10 (server time), the drop rewards from Core Hunt stages double. During the event, the first 10 Core Hunts each day will earn double rewards. *The double reward count resets daily at 5:00 A.M. The 10 double reward attempts are valid for all Core Hunt stages. (This is literally one of the first questions I ever got and I am SO sorry for such a late ass answer)

Hunt!Peter is a man who has built his life around the mistakes he's made. More than anything else, his guilt defines him and, like a black hole, sucks everyone else into it.

He thinks he's taking on the burdens of the world, but in reality, he's a narcissist who projects his martyrdom on others and relies on big displays of heroism and escapes into the suit to make up for the fact that he deeply loathes himself.

You see. Peter Parker is a felon and a fuck-up, but Spider-Man is a hero. Spider-Man lives only in the present, while Peter Parker has to suffer the consequences of his decisions.

Spider-Man is always there for strangers, but Peter is an absent figure for his friends and family.

Because of his venom, Peter is incapable of giving anyone real intimacy and believes that keeping everyone at arm's length is the safest thing to do for himself. And because he cannot give anyone real intimacy (both physical and emotional), he replaces that deep seated need by internalizing his desires and hypersexualizing violence.

However, Peter is generally a good person at his core. He genuinely wants to do the right thing for people and doesn't particularly care about following the letter of the law to do it.

Peter might have a more lenient code, but it's there and it's unshakeable.

He enjoys violence, but only in situations where his violence can be reciprocated and believes in the concept of street justice- which means standing up for people who can't stand up for themselves. At the end of the day, he wants to be a hero and wakes up every day choosing to be good and do good (no matter how hard that is).

And he is very good at being Spider-Man. He sucks at living as Peter Parker though, and maybe this new world will give him a better chance to reconcile these two halves of himself in a way he's never done before.

Monster (or not?)

It was a normal day for the Justice League, nothing special had happened, but Batman seemed to have a bad feeling. So when the alarm went off, he was prepared for almost anything.

Unfortunately, not much can prepare you for a 10-foot ice-covered, invincible Eldritch in the middle of Gotham. As much as the League tried, they didn't seem to do any damage to it (Jason was the first to notice that the creature wasn't attacking, just defending itself; he frowned at the observation).

From there, many strange things began to happen. First: A group of people dressed in white (which, frankly, they had never seen before in their lives) fanned out around the League, giving them weapons capable of harming the "creature" and pointing out to them that it was a "ghost", giving information about it.

Second, a pair of colorful scientists stood at the center of all the agents in white, though they seemed to be arguing with each other. One looked murderous, while the other looked... tired, almost guilty.

Third and last, a group of students kept trying to get closer. Jason thought they were suicidal until he heard the girl in purple tell them to leave "Danny" alone. She seemed to be silenced quickly, but the detail stuck in his head.

With a bad feeling, Jason turned to the college kids. A red-haired girl stood in the center of them, holding a chunk of ice? and watching the creature at the center of it all. While the League dealt with the agents in white, Jason decided to listen to them.

"He's my brother," the redhead said as soon as she saw him, "he's not a monster, they broke his core, please, you need to understand"

Jason looked at the creature again, although its body was mostly black, he could see ice covering a crystal in the center, it looked broken, he suspected that was his "core". At the same moment, Bruce finished talking to the men in white and accepted the weapons.

Danny was frightened and panicked. His form changed when his core broke in the middle of a fight, the GIW had shot him, and he didn't know how to retreat to his original form. His words came out only in Ghost speak, and the heroes around him looked ready to kill him, which didn't help his ice control.

Don't be afraid to take damage, especially when you're using claymore (higher interruption resistance), and especially when your combat companion can heal! Be brave!

spent my free time today going over all the protocores i currently have. thankful for the heartfelt gift rewards bc the stamina required to do 10 runs for the double drop rate in core hunt is hella expensive. FYI: it's 20 stamina per run or 200 stamina total for the double drops.

so glad they have this feature to decompose rare protocores. i also think i'm at that point in the game where i should be focusing only on SSR protocores, cause SR protocores cap at level 12 where as SSR caps at level 15. FYI: it is recommended that you don't start farming protocores until you get to area 7 in core hunt, where 1 SSR core is guaranteed for each clear.

also i like that canonically wei wuxian taught jiang cheng how to steal shit when they were kids, and jiang fengmian was like 'lol' and 'youthful high spirits' and just casually paid all damages because he liked that they were getting along.

and like. it's just food, he is prepared to pay for any and all food even if they're acquiring it in an elaborately roundabout way ig. who knows how much thought he put into it tbh. but he totally supported the shoplifting hijinks.

anyway this never comes up again, but my headcanon is jiang cheng used the how-to-steal-food-from-markets skill wwx had acquired through experience and passed on to him, while traveling alone in that window of time after the core surgery between wei wuxian not turning up at the arranged time (due to being in the burial mounds by then) and however he made contact with Nie Mingjue et. al. and started rebuilding his power base for the war.

It's a shame Tree is so poorly used because playing Clangen made me think about how much drama a mediator could cause even if they have good intentions. Like trying to get two cats to get along but only making their relationship worse or committing a big political faux pass with a rival clan when they need their support at the brink of war. Conflict through diplomacy can be fun if you commit to building tension and consequences with it.

Do you think mediators will eventually become a thing in all the BB!Clans?

Mediators are a great game mechanic in Clangen. Absolutely fantastic design choice, giving you better influence over the relationships between cats in a game all about managing relationships between cats. The people who came up with that one should be kissed on the mouths.

I'm not sure how much I'd get out of them as a storytelling element for BB, though.

It's not a complete no-- Clangen's mediators are pretty close to that "Therapy" rework I floated. Making their role more about interpersonal conflict, giving advice, helping individual cats work through their issues.

At the same time though, I find that the sense of community is so much stronger when that isn't someone's "job," but just something someone in the Clan can relate to.

Jaypaw could have had some sessions with a hypothetical therapist to confront his internalized ableism-- but isn't it more interesting for him to realize that by calling himself worthless for his disability, he's directly insulting his mentor Longtail too? And that Longtail will invoke his Battle Cat right to FIGHT for his honor?

They could consult elders, find a surprising connection in a Clanmate they'd never paid attention to, reignite an old friendship they thought they lost forever. There already feels like so many possibilities, and all of them feel more intriguing than "goes to the designated therapy guy."

If there's anyone like a political diplomat in BB though, it feels like it should evolve from Merchants. Ive got some stuff about trading and bartering in the works, and I think there's more space for interesting ideas there.
