and you can guarantee that the ads they would put in would have little to no quality control, letting random people send in the most mind-rotting, disgusting, dangerous ads on the whole damn planet, ads that genuinely hurt the product as more people would avoid it because of the evil marketing, and they'd definitely be targeted towards children as "video games are for children" so it'd be awful shit like this;
imagine having a life-changing experience watching Arthur Morgan die at the hands of the people he loved his whole life, only for it to be interrupted by ads for games that don't even exist, or something that dances around age restriction.
and you can be certain that adblockers just wouldn't work, so I can't even run to UBlock Origin after nearly having a seizure bc of a cool Live Wallpaper App (THAT STILL HASN'T BEEN TAKEN DOWN DESPITE ME REPORTING IT)
#i fucking loathe ads will all my being#they better figure out how to add adblockers to home consoles and steam if they want to keep playing videogames#the gaming industry would crumble like wet sand#which would probably be a blessing in disguise#megalithic corporations continue to give us soul-less garbage and expect us to pay life savings for extra content that should be in basegam#then the indie scene would thrive#which would be really cool#bc indie developers actually know what people want#then we'd probably have hundreds of awesome games like Undertale everywhere bc people are fed up with coporate bullshit#i literally wanted to get a job in advertising bc i wanted to try and fix them#but that wouldve been a waste of life#so fuck that#godamn ads know how to get me rambling angrilly

Sick and tired of being mistreated
Corporate America is a fucking scam. You can slave, and slave, and slave, and it will never be good enough.
And this is not some generic "fuck capitalism" rant, this is coming from someone who was literally screwed out of a job and is more or less being held financially hostage.
I took this retail job with the promise that within six months I would be able to move up to the corporate level and work in something in the field that I got a degree in (communications and marketing).
I have been slaving since march, waking up early, walking and standing for 5-8 hours a day, being told I wasn't doing enough, being told I need to work harder, do better, move faster, more efficiently, and I did! I did so badly! because I wanted nothing more but to finally get a job in something that I studied and am passionate about.
So, come the six month mark, I make an official request to job shadow, and I get told no for "schedule adherence issues." According to them, I was coming in late every single day, which one look at my employee portal will state IS NOT TRUE. In fact, the only time I was "excessively late" was when i first started, but I fixed that right away and had only been late a handful of times since.
But, I couldn't leave yet. I stayed, because I thought maybe I could sway my manager somehow, maybe i could make something work, maybe I could fix it.
Then I found out that unless my manager changed her mind, I was stuck. And anyone who knows my manager knows she won't change her mind. So I kind of gave up. I became more careless, made more mistakes, but I stayed, because I need the money.
Today, the career advisor (who is supposed to help train us to move up in the company) made a surprise visit and had to tell one of my coworkers she wasn't getting the job shadow either.
Now, the thing with my coworker is, not only did she want to move out of the company, but out of all of us, she was the most qualified. She takes the bus and still makes it on time or early, she is a full time employee, she wears multiple hats to the point that our manager told her to DO LESS because she didn't want her (my coworker) to get burnt out, all the customers love her.
She was told today that she wasn't "doing enough" and that she wasn't eligible for the job shadow because she has opened an HR complaint against another coworker who keeps coming to work under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
And then our manager tried to gaslight her on what our career advisor said.
Never, in the history of jobs, has anyone been more qualified for a job, and my coworker still. won't. get. it, because if we aren't under our manager's foot, then she isn't happy, and because our manager isn't happy with her life, then we can't be happy with ours.
That's all it is. No one can be above my manager, no one can be beside my manager, only under, and she won't be happy until we're nothing but braindead slaves who only listen to her, or until we quit, or idk...die?
So, I quit. I maliciously complied until it was time to go home, and now I'm here, feeling like an idiot for even entertaining the idea that a person like her could ever be reasonable, and trying to find out how to print my timesheet to create a formal complaint with HR. Which they probably won't listen to anyways because she's been with the company for 13 years. My coworker isn't as lucky though and is trying to come up with an escape plan as I write this.
This is why people "don't want to work anymore," this is why gen z is so notoriously difficult to work with, because now, we're being gatekept from companies we already work for. It's not like I'm trying to become the CEO of Lockheed Martin with nothing but a high school diploma. I'm trying to become a social media manager for a national retail store that I already am an employee of, and I have the education to back me up.
My coworker has tons of experience in her preferred field of choice, and only took this job for the money, she should be able to thrive in her career, she should be able to leave.
But we're stuck. We're chained to some building that used to be a grocery store, by some manager who has nothing going for her but seniority in retail and a fuckass bob.
I'm sick of this.
I'm sick of being lied to. I'm sick of being treated like an idiot. I'm sick of this life.
Angie Benton go to hell.
#trying not to reveal too much so as not to dox anyone#but she deserves it at this point honestly#she might also be racist#so....#rant#vent post#long post#tw vent#jobs#working#retail jobs#coporate america#fuck capitalism#fuck angie too#i know you don't know who angie is but fuck her#with her fuckass bob

Saw the Epic Trailer today so wanted to drop by to say congrats and really good job on the animation, it looks amazing! Also, even tho his design is different, Poseidon looks really hot and I can't stop thinking about it. His hardened, manic, older man swag in coporeal form is not something I ever knew I wanted but here we are.
Look at him. LOOK AT HIM. He looks so ready to drown a fleet and terrorize Odysseus and I'm HERE for it. Slay, King (like, literally).
Haha thank you! I was given the notes that his crazed smile was imperative

Hermione and Riddle work together at Malfoy Industries, albeit reluctantly. They need to go to Berlin to close a big deal and their overnight stay is full of adventure and misunderstandings.
Boss, Bed, and Beyond by CourtingInsanity

At the last minute, Hermione is asked to accompany her boss, the sexy playboy Tom Riddle, on a business trip. Which is totally fine...except...she's been in love with him for the past two years and has no idea how to even speak to him without working up a sweat. To make matters worse, they arrive at the hotel in France to find that the reservation has been "lost in translation" (read: Tom is a Slytherin expert at manipulating situations)...and there is only one bed. I wonder what will happen... Written for the Tomione Smut Fest hosted by the amazing and wonderful Weestarmeggie17, with the trope "one bed".

Hermione was good at what she did. Fantastic, in fact. She made upward of two grand a night. Men came crawling back to her, offering vast amounts of money, penthouse suites, and other perks but once they became too attached, she always cut them off without a blink of an eye. She gave men what they wanted and that was far more than the sex they had; she gave them power. She let them feel in control—they controlled how much she moved, what she wore, how much air she could breathe. They got off on it. So did she.

Curly is an Enabler.
That is a fact, but I believe he is an Enabler due to personal attachments and corporate expectations.
Going over the personal attachments: Learning a close friend of yours has committed an act as serious as S/A after you went out of your way to secure a job for them would be a hard pill to swallow. He wants to fix it, to still see the good person that exists in Jimmy. This, as others have pointed out, is one of the way Jimmy has manipulated him.
Jimmy degrades and demeans Curly repeatedly before the crash. Even questioning his judgement as Captain. Jimmy weaponizes his position as the "Everyman" to shame Curly for being his superior. It's a gaslighting and manipulation tactic to force Curly into believing Jimmy knows what is best, despite the fact Pony Express hired Curly as Captain.
So when it came time to confront Jimmy about shit he legitimately did wrong, Jimmy's manipulations paid off as Curly still trusted him. Incapable of seeing the threat he posed until it was too late.
On the coporate side:
Pony Express demands of it's employees to only sleep 5 hours, that is below the current legal limit the TSA allow pilots to fly. This would severely diminish his mental capacity. Making it easier for him to make poor judgements and fall for obvious manipulation tactics.
On top of this he is running a skeleton crew on an incredibly old ship that constantly has someone needing assistance in one way or another. He's always running around on the clock and having to make sure there's enough hands to help.
Pony Express also added Daisuke on last minute without providing the proper rations for another person. Potentially limiting the amount of food they had access to. I could see curly or other crew members limiting their portion sizes.
All this takes cognitive strain on Curly, who is already trapped in Jimmy's manipulations, and leads to him making one of the worst mistakes of his life.
Jimmy is a piece of shit.
But Corporate and Curly gave him the opportunity.
#mouthwashing#captain curly#curly mouthwashing#enabler#pony express#i dont think curly is a bad person#he was a captain doing his best but did fuck up at the most important moment#this game is so damn realistic

(vibrates) it's slug time
loving the slang... "tightness all day long" "today is toasty". also love that "babes" survives way into the future. 15 this is ur legacy. "that woman was her sister" incest implication??? 2 minutes in
TURN LEFT /triggered
the design in this is impeccable.
this is so sims coded.... from the creators of "doctor who is a tv show" theory we bring u-> "doctor who is a videogame"
if u were disappointed with the focus on magic this ep this ep is rlly giving classic scifi parody lol
CRAZY DAYS
there's a lot of wordsmith-ing in this ep….eyes emoji
i love ruby sm now she's so resourful in every ep
this episode is like "this is how an anniversary multi-doctor multi-companion multi-master webcam special could still win"
ok but seriously. ppl are gonna be like "phones bad is dumb of course people look where they are!!!" bro. they dont. and yeah it can have deadly consequences. there's a reason "dont text and drive" campaigns happen.
ruby has done SO many callcenter type jobs forreal.
SLUG TIME SLUG TIME SLUG TIME.
DR PEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
this episode is amazing
"is that thing something to do with you?" bitch (i got a bit spoiled that she's a racist (damn "looking at tumblr for 2 secs to vibe check" habit) so im looking at this with more hindsight than u are supposed to sdlkfjd)
bluie light celeste and gold motif in ruby and the doc's backdrops? also fifteen in orange <3333333 my beloved
the interior design is ON POINT this ep "you dont know how to walk without the arrows?" "condescending much?" bitch
this episode is so fun lol
"fifteen nd ruby react channel" realness (WHICH…..HEY…….DO U KNOW WHAT PPL REACT TO………………………. T V SH O W S (clown make up fully on))
ruby has done so much service calling jobs forreal lol the sheer patience
the doctor really wanting to lose their minds here but having to hold it together is peak doctor sdkjfsd (also very realistic of the struggles i expected a black doctor to work thru)
there's a bit of a theme of instinct vs programming going on here.
"surrounded by this woodland forest thing. it's like, really natural"
hashtag obsessed with it the catharsis im feelin tbh. 2 ppl being like "yo mass killing is rlly wrong" while the cacophony of the internet ~fun goes on and on. where's the [fiction]
ITS LIKE LOVE ISLAND THE PLANET. BRO. bro im so WIRED IN /clown make up intensifies
penny pepper bean still strong holding the 12 ppl still in the tory party together in the year something something
"ruby and the doctor struggle to lie in the moment" is my favorite recurring trope
the doctor using the sonic as a remote right there……………….. im running out of clown make up ya'll
"you did NOT just "@everyone" realism
no one ever listens to the goths….
until its too late…
its interesting that there's no cameras in their feeds, tho. right? like. that's the layer i think it's profoundly different to irl in this satire / social crit. ppl are *locked out* of the real world bc they're looking at their screens, but they do that bc the screens are a constant waterfall of billions of camera footage either of individuals or coporations or institutions. always producing "content". so like is not that ppl dont "see" anythign irl but they see it all thru a filter or thru editing,,,, but its fine i get what the satire is going for slkdfj but yeah. i think thats why it may feel a bit "not quite capturing" of the current ~digital ethos
fifteen so close to losing it- fifteen if u want to go for a bit of a timelord victorious i wont judge. u can have it. as a treat.
doctor who is a videogame energy bbc merch idea -> zombies run type podcast but it's the doctor and ruby telling u where to go for a job so u dont die. (russel get on this)
YOU STILL HAVE BATTERY PROBLEMS
"this is your fault!" iconic. classic who
so many ppl have presumably died so far. god bless. we needed an ep like this. proper high body count who feels good. feels organic.
rip the au where these were the beatles. thats 1 theory im really gonna mourn for the rest of the series lol
plaza 55…… orphan 55 reference???
great abrogation sounds important.
"i will get out out of here. i promise" obligatory doctor mirroring moment.
oh shit.
"thi iss SO manual"
"hands off" I LOVE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The doctor x companion x some bland guy love triangle DREAM omg
"he says they're saving us to eat for last (snob voice)maybe we're the most tasty" scream. this ep is so fun.
pentecost's style was so on point.
wasnt her battery running out? (i may have missed something sldkjf)
bro stop hitting the fucking gas pipes oh my goddddd
holy shit. RICKY NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
that was brutal.
racists are gonna hate this episode so much lol
fifteen getting to experience all the microaggressions/outright aggressions thirteen didnt. yay progress(???) "thats voodoo" holy shi t
"maintain the standards of finetime" rtd was pissed when writting this lol
fifteen is not doing all rightkids.
ncuti's "who's my doctor? he's a black man" prophecy comes FULL CIRCLE
fifteen looking at US tho…………… this is a tv show man. this is a tv show. this is - *im struggle against my straight-jacked as im graddged back to the cushion-walled cell*
the plot twist of this ep………… phones good actually. thank u phones. u are doing a service.
CONCLUSIONS!
so there's a lot of ways to chop this one…
"racism and capitalism still exists in the future" is a trope that it's kind of limiting / always grates me in some ways (it feeds into the anti-racism of ppl whose politics doesnt trascend idealist philosophy -> that is, it is an anti-racism that can't conceive of an end to racism bc it doesn't actually have a political project that address the material causes of racism and just tries to fix the "natural prejudices" away with "education". in other words, it cant portray a word without racism bc it cant *conveive* of one.) . however i think im more open to it this time / this series since s11 onwards the focus has been so much on telling stories about the present with scifi make up on. and i think this one manages to do that rlly well. ___
another vertice to look this one on is whether... is it really "doing anything" to have racism portrayed on screen (and other bigotry) in a scifi story? if u already experience racism or understand it happens, who is served by this? it's hurtful to watch and it's like missing the chance to "show a different world" is possible thru scifi. and the counterargument to that is on a """""color blind"""""" 2020s world it is rlly cathartic and re-affirming to have stories that *show* the realities of the world, and that dont shy away from showing those realities in fear of them coming off as "over the top" (bc they arent. some ppl will still walk away from this ep thinking "haha fun satires" but like. this is literally how White Rich People Talk. in real life.......) and again in this one time i think it works really well bc doctor who has… probably never done this? lol there's moments with martha and ryan for example, but never going this hard on it. but im open to discussion tbh. i think the angle of "is this a story about racism for white people to learn or is it a cathartic for *black / brown people to experience catharsis in" is gonna be one for fruitful discussion in the future. ___
besides the socio-political points,,,, bro this episode was a thrill ngl sdlkjf like so many simple, excellent moments like the girl walking into the light post. the made up slang and the real slang!!!!. the excellent interior design. "ruby and fifteen react to doctor who". just lots of fun little details. the execution was really inspired.
character point -> tbh fifteen at the end feels like a bit of Growth from like, ten at his worst moments -> "he's not the person you would have chosen to survive, but if you could decide who lives or dies, doctor, that would make you a monster"
also kinda wonder how this episde will hit for newbies / Not Us. i think a lot of its gut punch comes from dw never doing this before and so the strenght of subverting those expectations. is this an story that stands on its own w/o all the 60 years of context? we'll have to show it to our normie friends and see lol

(This is the anon who wrote about the farmer finding a wild Pokémon.) Just thought of this after I submitted the previous post, but about your view about Joja being an evil team that succeeded, if my prompt from earlier did happen, do you think Morris or Joja Corp would first attempt to steal the Pokémon and if that didn't work, put the farmer in a position where they have to give them up (assuming that's what Joja is like in this mod)?
*Evil smile*
So you wanna know about Joja Corp and how they are like in this mod.
Pull up a chair grab some popcorn.
I'm about to give you the whole run down of how they are.
Now to start off - Morris here has NO IDEA. What Joja Coporation has done in the past when it comes to the extermination and deportation of Pokémon.
Yes, I said the word extermination. Fair warning things are going to get very dark here.... There is a reason why all of this is has happened in the past or behind the scenes. (Meaning, won't be directly said in the mod itself.)
Also just to keep things on track! Submas... had no idea how big of a mess they got into, and are too busy with the station to look into it much. This is your silly story in which you help submas integrate in a run-down town who fears Pokémon as an invasive species! There's not much you can do besides helping them settle and hope the common sentiment changes a bit. Joja stuff is something the farmer can't get too involved in because Morris isn't even that involved in the big picture… Joja already succeeded. There's a lot going on outside of Pelican Town, but just like the war with the Gotoro Empire, there's nothing you can do about it but experience the ripples from its effects from a relatively isolated town.
Morris himself has grown up without any Pokémon around - meaning any information about Pokémon from schools, libraries, etc is heavily censored or outright struck from history.
The most he knows is that Pokémon were once a thing in the valley and now they are not. He does not know about the involvement Joja Cooperation as a whole had, and honestly, Joja is keeping it that way.
Plus, Morris as a character is always trying to impress his higher-ups. What better way then to make sure the Joja Mart he was entrusted with thrives within the small town that is Pelican Town! Coupons! Coupons everywhere!
He just wants to do his job and do so where it will make the higher-ups be proud of him.
But really he is just one of the many pawns Joja Coporation has at their disposal.... To keep a hold of the people you need to keep ahold of the consumer. Buy from Joja Mart! They are Mega Corporation!
And as stated from the Stardew Valley Wiki.
"A megacorp that seems to cover shipping, warehousing, distribution, mining activities, emergency medical services, and energy drink production."
Which means they most likely have a political or social stake claim within the governing body of The Ferngill Republic. Think about the war that is currently going on with the Gotoro Empire. Medical supplies sent via Joja itself to the troops of the Ferngill Republic.
Joja Coporation itself clearly has control over what the people can say or do etc.
Between Morris and submas... They're evenly matched. They have one-track minds when it comes to doing their job. They're workaholics, but politics isn't in their standard operating procedure.
You as the farmer (If you did not skip the intro) worked in a cubicle! And there where security people, most likely CEO's looking down below at you from glass windows as you work!
(Like a prison....)
So when it comes to Pokémon itself; Joja Coporation got rid of them to have more control over the people.
Over the Republic as a whole.
From spreading false information, propaganda and playing the messy board game that is politics. They convinced the government and the people Pokémon were bad and that the ecological system was at risk due to them. And during the time that Granny Evelyn and George where growing up in...
Pokémon were either....
Killed.
Captured and deported.
Or the Pokémon themselves found means of escape out of the region with their lives all while their habitats were being wiped out (meaning food, berries etc.) That made them thrive.
I imagine the berries to be their first target in their plan of wiping out Pokémon... Joja provides medical supplies and growing berries is practically free healthcare (curing poison and paralysis?). It's just one step in their monopoly and also serves to make their job of eradicating Pokémon from the region easier. They would just starve off. It may have been a bit difficult to convince the general public that killing off Pokémon directly is for the supposed greater good at first (animal empathy and all), but they could have managed to spread something about how Pokémon berries are bad. Their healing properties are a bit absurd, so they could spread fear about them being sketchy (think like... how MSG occurs naturally in tomatoes but everyone has a bit of xenophobia about MSG as a concept).
Not to mention... Pokémon are quite powerful. There's some truth in what Joja spreads. They easilly overrun an ecosystem (as shown by pretty much every other region...), so not removing them from a region runs the risk of regular animals going exctinct instead. It's one or the other. Being a megacorp having control over one of the last few regions without Pokémon puts you in a pretty good position from a business standpoint since everyone relies on you to be a major exporter of normal goods. It's basically world domination for Joja.
Without Pokémon there was no more that sense of companionship or the ideas of traveling or journeying and discovering one's selves as a kid. Jobs became more laborious, less fun, and overall people had to adapt without Pokémon.
Not to mention the tactics which Joja used painted Pokémon in a harsh light... Which means you're in the Hisuian Era of thinking when it comes to Pokémon. Because no one understands them anymore.... and it doesn't help the fact that the Ferngill Republic is isolated from the rest of the world as a region and home.
It's sad, but submas gets used to it eventually. Which makes a certain someone perfect for the job of dealing with the Hisuian era...
Now I can hear that question brewing.
"BUT STEWARDESS KADE! WHAT ABOUT THE POKÉMON LEAGUE!? WOULDN'T THEY BE ABLE TO STOP 'EM?"
Oh, for sure.... If they even had a Pokémon League body government to begin with.
The Ferngill Republic has no Pokémon-focused government even when they had Pokémon. Think of regions within Pokémon canon like - the Almia region.
If you have not played Pokémon Ranger series as a kid when growing up I highly recommend it! I draw a lot of inspiration from Shadows of Almia in terms of how Joja Coporation is.
As for the mainline games, Alola- despite having a focus on Pokemon- is pretty isolated since they haven't quite established a League like the others yet. You can get away with a lot when there's no Pokémon League.
There is no Pokémon League or Gym System. They're just people living their average lives. Small towns. Some cities. etc. Sure, they have the Ranger Union in Almia, but not every region has a Pokémon Ranger base. The same could be said for the Ferngill Republic.
Joja as a whole had completed its goal of taking control.
At least so they think....
The funny thing about history is that - it is never truly gone. People still find out what has happened.
So what do you think is on their minds when they find out that the government has accepted paperwork and access for oh I don't know two train conductors to come over and repair a train infrastructure within Stardew Valley itself.
Joja CEO's is going to tell Morris to do anything he can to get that railroad... And Morris won't question why. Until things don't start to add up... Why care about a bunch of train conductors with Pokémon?
Oh, now suddenly you are learning more about Pokémon.... and you begin to question the history of everything. You begin to question Joja itself. That control is slipping and it has been possibly before Ingo and Emmet even arrived.
Now, what if I told you there are two divisions of Joja here. The ones who believe that Pokémon are horrible and must be gotten rid of. And the ones who believe that they must adapt and thrive with them as partners.
Joja itself is going to be infighting as you now have a Team Plasma and Neo Plasma situation going on.....
But, as a farmer, a grocery store clerk, and a pair of conductors, you can't do anything about it. You don't even know where to start. Your only lead is a general store manager who's pretty uninvolved in the political aspect. You have no choice but to remain uninvolved and just hope they collapse on themselves.
To put it simply, you the farmer, Ingo, Emmet, Morris etc. This is all going on in the background... outside of the valley. This is all stuff that is way above everyone. You're just average everyday people and the world is going to keep turning and keep burning (love that song so much...). It going to keep developing in the background and you're just going to get glimpses here and there of its history.
So really No, Joja or Morris won't go after Pokémon. After all, Joja Coporation has a public image to uphold and maintain now they completed their goals. But that doesn't mean they can't find other ways to prevent such things from happening or control slipping from their grasps.
As for your Joltik... They're in the clear! Properly documented and legally immigrated despite everything. A wild Pokémon might not fare so well, but at least Emmet can file the paperwork away to keep your Pokémon safe when it comes down to it.

Being queer in a traditional coporate job is the weirdest experience. What do you mean, you spent your weekend going to brunch with your husband? I planned a trip to go and see a Dutch techno rap artist that was disqualified from Eurovision. You don’t know what Eurovision is and just announced your pregnancy? Yeetus that fetus…I mean, congratulations, do you think it’s gonna be boy or a girl?

Hot Take Alert! (Essay)
Okay...this is going to sound weird (and god forbid, I'm probably going to have discourse in my notes for months and months after this). But....
I feel like AI-Generation should be banned and made illegal. Not just 'AI Image Generation'. I mean, ALMOST EVERY FORM OF AI GENERATION!
Specially, visual generation and audial generation. My current hypothesis is that, by the year 2050, almost everything artistically related, whether it be stuff like a piece of promotional art to voiceover lines, will be AI-generated, at least at a coporate and mainline industrial level. This is based on modern-day observations with factory jobs and how they have been slowly phased out, from the early 20th century with the introduction of the Assembly Line all the way to today.
Sure, you might be asking me 'Well, what about my big titty anime girls?' or 'What about those memes where Mario says fuck but it actually kind of sounds like Mario?' like they are completely harmless.
....THOSE ARE THE EXACT PROBLEMS I'M TALKING ABOUT!
That stuff you want to generate of your own volation? That art that you are too depraved just to commission someone for?
It wasn't made by a human. An honest-to-god, breathing, flesh-and-blood human.
It was made by a machine. A series of lines of code made to mimic the actions of a human without all of the flaws or personality that come with being human.
Now, this isn't me going against AI in general. AI itself is an incredibly useful tool in all sorts of fields from video games to factories. I mean, anyone who has played single-player Mario Kart 8 is probably more familiar with AI than a computer scientist from 1940.
I am saying the concept of AI Generation is an inherently bad thing for us as a species. Or more specifically, what I feel like is the most important aspect of our species as a whole: Our Creativity.
From Leonardo Da Vinci to the guy who wrote poorly structured poems back in Kindergarten, we all have a higher capacity for higher-level thinking and manipulation of our environments compared to most other lifeforms on this planet. However, with that higher-level intellect also comes our inherent emotions. This is what allows us to achieve the global cooperation that we enjoy and take for granted, to achieve our pack and herd dynamics. Our abilities to feel fear, sadness, happiness, anger, and so much more is as inherent to our neurological chemistry as our intelligence and understanding.
This has created what I like to call 'emotional transplanting'. Using our intelligence and understanding of the world around us, either based on empirical study or observing phenomenon, to manipulate and change the world around us to reflect our emotions. To use our understanding of language, both oral and bodily, to tell stories based on our memories or our own ideas and creations. To use our hands to shape the world, or, to a lesser extent, an object, to project our emotions and showcase our world of thinking through how we manipulate, change, and project onto the world around us using the neurological and physical tools at our disposal.
And I feel like, in a way, AI Generation is removing that key core of our being.
Because, at the click of a button, we can generate giant paintings that would've taken years upon years for a human to do. At the click of a button, we can make anyone read anything that has been and will be ever written. At the click of a button, we can generate stories that no one in their right minds could've ever thought of or will think of.
However, what we get with the great increase in speed, we sacrifice the soul of the work. The humanity, the emotions. The flaws, the ideas on display. They are stripped away and slapped perfectly together through lines upon lines of calculated, studied, and refined AI code, so that it LOOKS like a piece of art up there with the Impressionists or the Renaissance, or a realistic photo, or a story worthy of a Oscar or a Pulitzer Prize.
But it isn't.
All because it lacks that human element. It lacks soul. It lacks emotion. Sure, an AI can simulate emotion. But it can't feel emotion.
But corporations know that. They know how easy AI is to use compared to actual creatives, both regarding time and money, and so, I predict that, if we do not do something about this, if we do not raise our voices and holler from the hilltops upon which our forefathers before screamed for their unions or our old masters who shouted cries for freedom...
We too, will end up like the factory workers of yesteryear. Discarded by the wayside all because companies care more about money, time, and manipulating the population into buying their product, than the humans who put their heart, their soul, and their emotions into the things that they have created.
This is why I believe AI Generation should be made illegal. To not only protect the careers and livelihoods of thousands, but to also ensure that one of the most important features of our civilization does not fall into the trappings of dystopic dreams and cyberpunk corporate greed.
#psa#hot take#ai generation#essay#i made this essay in reaction in all of the ai generation news that has been filling my head for weeks and weeks#ai generation AND data collection should be fucking illegal#humans should have the rights to protect their souls#souls as in artistic and intellectual projection and personality#we shouldn't be data that coporations collect without our consent#we are human#we are the children of planet earth#I know this is a deviation from my normal content but I wanted to get my say out there#anti ai art#anti ai generation#please reblog#I want my words to be heard

Just saw ur post about depressed at work and went like, "mood". Is your job hurting you or is it something else...?
first of all thank you just for reacting to this i was just kinda just screaming into the void with this post like idk i didnt even know actual people would see it so thx for just checking on me this means the literal world <3
i try to keep my blog as much "good vibes only" as possible so if anybody reading this post dont want to be bummed out (which i understand) dont read under the cut
to put it simply yes. yes it's my job.
like i've been knowing this job was the problem for a rather long time because i was super stressed all the time and all it wasnt fun but like i only truly understood when i went on vacay some weeks ago it was the FIRST TIME that i enjoyed my days off without stressing about work and/or just ended up actually working FOR FREE because i was stressed that too much work would be waiting for me when i get back. that time i was literally stranded in the ocean and i didnt have a choice to just let go and not worry about work it felt AMAZING. i've been having non stop headaches and panic attacks and i didnt have ANY while i was on vacay. i remember so clearly thinking at some point wow that is what life is about...
and yeah so im gonna quit. like freal. yesterday they anounced us something again and i know this new thing will result in more work and im sick of the pressure they constantly put on us because they treat the clients like literal infants and we have to find every way possible to make them satisfied. so that was the last sign i needed from the universe to get the fuck out.
sure im well paid and can afford to travel and go to kpop concerts and buy the things that i want but honestly at what cost? no amount of money is worth the mental and physical torment... because at this point my stress level is constant and so bad that im noticing physical repercussions.... and yeah not worth it.
so im going to quit. ill look for an other job i know grass is not always greener on the other side but there MUST be a side where the color of the grass suits me! coporate life is a bitch honestly and clients are the worst i love my team so much ive been holding on for so long for their sake because my colleagues are the greatest but honestly none of them deserve to go through what they put us through. they should all quit.
i dont wanna settle. i can find better. (honestly none of us should ever settle for less. lets know our worth. we are bad bitches <3)
so yeah ill make an anouncement soon about an incoming writing hiatus (i will still be reading and reblogging and lurking like the cave troll that i am) because i'll be looking for a job and that takes a lot of time and i still have my current job i have to go to (unfortunately).
sorry for the unsolicited rant... but yeah BUT because im a person that focusses on the bright side... other than my shit job! everything is good! im okay if it wanst' for that my life would be perfect! dont worry too much about me <3
also i've seen your recent post your job also sounds complicated. i hope you're ok too <3 dont hesitate to rant to me lets both talk shit about our company together. lets bond over hatred <3

The sudden shift in quality in Genshin Impact is because they've been firing and hiring new people
The public job listings the last few months had been crazy & really show off the drama if you want to go down a rabbit hole
Keep leaving feedback about what you have disliked because y e s, the new devs are listening and corporate took the international's collective decrease in playing very seriously
And if you are part of the SWANA community and are still upset about Sumeru, now is the time to remind the devs why you stopped playing. Kaeya's new outfit appears not to have been an isolated thing but since Hoyoverse IS inconsistent in all their games with colorism, I encourage you double down with the reminder.
Lastly, don't spend money on Genshin especially- at any time the game can be turned off by Hoyoverse because they still see it as a farming game. It's improving but coporate has yet to fully acknowledge they have an alright open world rpg.
#mun post#genshin impact#so tldr natlan might not be a mess#and if you want to be an international dev for hoyoverse- check those listings#hoyoverse
