i have also been abused at the hands of trans women and transfemmes and yet i don't hate either of those identities at all. i dislike the actions of individual people who are assholes. that's a very reasonable thing to do. saying that all trans women and transfemmes are abusive assholes and that it's okay to hate them would be career ending. you'd get chased off of every platform under the sun.

it blows my mind when people think that just because there are not great police statistics (where'd your ACAB go...?) on violence against transmasculine people that means it just doesn't happen at all. literally where'd your ACAB go? that's an appeal to authority. you are appealing to the cops. you are, suddenly, for some reason, flipflopping and seeing them as a trustworthy resource. this is a double standard. this is shifting the goalposts

trans mascs and men are almost always reported on as women if the crimes we face are reported on. most of the time it's not worth going through the trouble to report it because nothing will ever be done about it. you need a lot of evidence in order to convict someone of a crime like that and more often than not people will try their hardest to discredit whatever evidence the trans man/masc does have because they are being viewed as a cis woman, and thus, incompetent. most people who face violence never report the crime. you can't suddenly treat police data like it's the end all be all of lived experiences

other people will assert that these things can't happen to trans men because they can't happen to men at all, which is a perfect shining example of radfem logic at its finest. there's no other way to say it. men can be hurt and abused. women can be abusive and dangerous. this is not new. silencing trans men who have suffered violence for the sake of talking about yourself isn't helping people understand you better

so many trans men deal with homelessness/housing insecurity, poverty, physical and sexual assault, murder, abuse of all kinds especially mental and emotional, being objectified and forcefully viewed as women, corrective rape, sex trafficking, job insecurity, disability, neurodivergence, mental illness, substance abuse, incarceration, and so many other problems. all trans people face these problems in distinct ways. but they affect us all. we can't silence one part of this conversation for no reason other than to be petty and bitter.

i'm sorry you've had all these experiences, but thank you for sharing. the only way we can help people understand is if we talk about it in earnest. no more hiding. this has gotten more than out of control

24. Is Stella and Zéro's relationship real or PR?

I think I always assumed it was real! It's clear that there are ulterior motives on Zéro's part, but I think Stella probably does fall for him (or him money/power, etc.) to some extent, or maybe just fools herself into thinking she does? I don't actually think it's purely a marriage of convenience/beard situation, although it's a fun idea to play with :p Especially because of that "Moi j'suis avec toi parce que tu m'fais du bien" line 😉

25. Is Sadia a double-agent from the start or initially sincere?

That eternal one!! I think my fave headcanon is that Sadia starts as a double agent, then actually falls for Johnny/The Cause and is about to renounce Zéro, and goes back to him due to being rejected. But it's also a little bit of a cop-out because it's basically just a way to say "both!" I definitely want Sadia and Johnny to have something real though, not just a calculated thing on Sadia's part.

26. What's your headcanon about Sadia's gender?

Ahlala, same thing, I'm so easily swayed 😅 I think my most enduring headcanon about this, which doesn't actually go with the Travesti lyrics but whatever, is that if Sadia were written today she'd be a trans woman or a femme-presenting enby. I really can't get behind the idea that she's a cis woman playing at being subversive, I think that's the coward's way out :p I think this idea came from my desire to avoid the queer-phobic trap of the "predatory gay man" who's trying to trick a straight dude into liking him, or TERF-like "men are pretending to be women to infiltrate women's bathrooms" tropes. I think if Sadia's genuinely got something going on with her gender, it voids that iffyness! (I also like it when Johnny is explicitely queer, which complicates this a little because obvs a dude being with a trans woman doesn't make him queer. But I think he's queer even if Sadia is a woman :p)

(i’m not even joking) so they both do that and they flirt things are said and done woahh (they kiss holy shit :0) They end up sleeping togheter but before that janette was like ‘heyy i’m aro-spec let me explain what that means and how i don’t do romantic relationships” and Adele is like “uh huh. definetly listening” she isn’t. she does not care at all. So basically they have a friends with benefits relationship but then Janette is like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE A HUSBAND” since adele is not polyamorous and did not tell Josh about it.

They split up, and don’t talk for a while until Adele’s son, Ryan, ends up being involved in a cult ritual that ends up with him getting his arm chopped off. Adele knows who did it (janette who did not agree to that ritual) and ended up getting revenge. In the form of arson. She was mostly commiting arson because she was just annoyed at Janette and a little bit for her son she isn’t a good mum. So Janette gets burnt alive and then ends up getting resurrected by weird blue spirits called Sprites that curse her with if she cuts her skin, little blue flowers and foliage burst from her skin trying to push their way out which is dangerous! So she has to stay out of town- in the woods- because everyone thinks she’s dead and she’s just planning her way to kill adele.

yeah. there is so much more lore i could go into but i will save that. for later. :D

also nijimura is literally equal to himuro. they're literally the same age, same height (himuro is an inch and half taller but still!!), same interest in sport (basketball and table sports), surprisingly the subject they're good at is maths, they're also equally good at fighting, like both were delinquents in their past (except himuro was WILDER lmao), both are the big brother figure esp nijimura who has younger siblings (with a sick father) and raises 7 kids at the age of fucking 15 is a former captain of generation of miracles so he acts way wiser and more mature for his age, i think whenever nijimura with himuro he could do what boys his age do. being silly. being stupid. he doesn't have to get a little caught up in the role of head of household for a while or being the big brother for his younger friends. nijimura could get his youth back with himuro. also himuro doesn't have to be angst about with nijimura since they match each other's freaks and there's no big gaps between them unlike him with kagami or murasakibara. Reviews: Homophobic Cop Marries Gay Ghost, President’s Son Gets Together with Prince

Recently watched 2 movies with gay main characters in different genres. One was Red, White & Royal Blue (available on Amazon), one was 🌟 Marry My Dead Body 关于我和鬼变成家人的那件事 (available on Netflix). Spoiler-free thoughts below 😊:

❤️🤍💙 Red, White & Royal Blue is an American romcom. It has a 10/10 trailer—incredibly inviting. The movie depicts many women in power, I love that! Many witty jokes, nice! The movie might be better if it were a drama series instead; to save time, it zoomed through the falling-in-love part with the use of text messages—the production team packaged that as well as they could, but it was still too rushed. The ending left me wondering if there could’ve been a tiny bit more to make it feel more complete. Though the movie doesn’t score as highly as its trailer in my opinion, it’s still a decent movie.

(That reminds me of how That Musical Montage in episode 1 of the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua made me super keen to watch the rest of the series, but it turns out that that was the best part. Quality-wise, Red, White & Royal Blue is overall better than the TGCF donghua though.)

👻👮‍♂️💓 Marry My Dead Body is a Taiwanese mystery + comedy + supernatural movie. Let me copy the blurb from Google: “Wu Ming-Han, a straight policeman who is homophobic and ghost-phobic, accidentally picks up a red wedding envelope while collecting evidence. He finds himself betrothed to the envelope's owner Mao Pang-Yu, a gay man who died under mysterious circumstances. The duo must work through their differences and join forces to solve the case, seeking justice for Mao.” (Real-life context: marriages between dead people and live ones are/were an actual thing in Chinese culture.)

I’ve just finished watching this movie, love it! Let me get the “con” out of the way first: I wish the movie ended differently! The ending was not unsatisfying, it’s just that I personally could have been more satisfied.

Okay, now I am free to gush.

This movie is HILARIOUS. Won’t describe the humour here, you can see it in the trailers on YouTube.

I love the unravelling of the mysteries (police cases). The feelings would not have hit half as hard without them and the exploration of Maomao’s non-romantic relationships (formed during his life) after his death. Even though I highly value a good plot apart from the romance when I read/watch something, I like talking about feelings more, so that’s what I’ll do.

I have Intense Feelings about these guys. They went from being Not Keen about getting stuck with each other to being really cute together—I notice that the movie managed to do this EVEN WITHOUT having them hold hands or do anything physical beyond that. That is crazy. Romantic physical contact is great, but if you can show chemistry without it, and with minimal flirting—that is exceptional.

(Side note: I think it would be harder to convincingly depict a heterosexual pair arriving at romantic feelings the way Wu Ming-Han and Maomao did: (partly) through constant banter and trading barbs. A man looking down on a woman would have come across as a lot meaner because the threat that poses is larger in the patriarchal society we live in.)

Wu Minghan went from casually homophobic to being on track for bisexuality for a ghost, such character development. The scene where Wu Minghan genuinely calls Maomao “my husband” for the first time is AMAZING, unexpected. At that moment I was like, oh my god, he loves him. Or at the very least, he has good potential. It had taken a series of hilarious strong-arming, including a close call with the loss of Wu Minghan’s family jewels, to make this dude marry Maomao, but now he’s calling Maomao husband—in that particular state, at that timing. I cried. I was smiling at many points throughout the movie, I also cried at some points. the show i was vague posting btw is a show on netflix that tries to use vampires as a metaphor for homophobia, except all the vampires are played by white people and all the monster hunters are played by black people and all the vampires in question do in fact kill and eat people include multiple of the black monster hunters and also a closeted gay teenager and the only people who are openly against it are waspy white karens who are portrayed as being in the wrong for being "monster phobic" despite the fact the leader is infact fine with actual gay people and her son is a black gay teenager who was secretly dating the closeted gay teenager who was murdered by said vampires, and they did use the term "monsterphobic" and like you wrote a metaphor for cops the vampires are cops this is fucking stupid.

the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.

For some reason since the holidays I've been obsessed with Sam from Death Stranding... Mainly because we see him naked, he moves in a way I love, he has cute hair, printed hands over his body, and he's phobic of touch, a little bit messed up... but I can't really play because my days are full of work work work (I literally fill my days with work)... He looks exactly like the actor that voices him because this is how the game is, and because of that I'm obsessed with the actor now.

I didn't think I'd feel that way again because it's been a long time since I did, but I really feel a classic "highschool girl crush". I get all nervous and all when he looks at the camera, heart beating fast. The whole deal.

I learnt after that he played in the The Walking Dead. I don't really like that TV show, it's a dumb plot, I really hate the cops in it, it's so gendered it drives me crazy, zombies are an old trope now (even though their designs are very well made tbh). The evil people are evil just for the sake of evil. But then I thought maybe I could just watch it to see him, and it's less time consuming than a whole video game. And phew isn't he a cutie with his bow like a slutty wooden elf. And he's impulsive, messed up, a little bit awkward, and I like him even with short hair. He moves in a soft way that makes him just beautiful.

It saves the whole plot, I don't care for anyone but him. I want to do all sorts of painful and delicious things to him.

Interesting note about writing about unhoused people, because I'm rewriting a report from a cop who held an outreach program for unhoused people, she supports understands and empathizes with them, but the language used around unhoused people is still very gross and if no one will point it out I guess I should.

"Stakeholders, businesses, government institutions and others need to join forces to eradicate the homelessness pandemic". What she means is we need to house unhoused people and provide social aid so they can pick their lives back up. I work closely with her I know this is what she means. The language she uses however is unfortunately standard language around the housing crisis, and it needs to change.

The reason it's bad, if it's not obvious to you, is because it creates this feeling of unhoused people being vermin, or a plague, that need to be exterminated. Obviously it's not a direct "we should kill all homeless people" but it does contribute to the stigma of unhoused people as an annoyance that needs getting rid of. Unfortunately there's a prevailing ethos of "as long as they're out of my neighborhood/town/city they're not my problem" and as such any effort to support and aid unhoused people is overshadowed by a general feeling of "if you feed them they won't go away".

I can not stress this enough, but unhoused people are still fucking people. Even if they use or deal drugs they deserve aid and their basic needs met. Even if they steal or rob (using violent force and/or a weapon) they deserve aid and their needs met. Even if they are religious extremists, misogynistic, queer phobic, ablist, racist or any other ism, they deserve aid and their needs met. The way to "solve the homelessness pandemic" is to house them, not push them somewhere else so they're out of sight and out of mind.

The first step towards an accepting and supportive society is changing the language we use. When we stop referring to it as a pandemic and start referring to it as a crisis, when it's no longer homeless (state of being that has no space) and rather unhoused (failed by the system in a way that made them lose their space), when we use empathetic language, instead of standardized language that puts them at a distance so it's "easier to talk about", we can start changing attitudes. After attitudes come actions, and then systems, then society.

Even if you mean well, pay attention to how you refer to things if you have a significant enough public voice. You may well be the difference between the cops burning unhoused people's possessions and cops helping them sign up for social security and low cost housing. Write better, be better.
