Prompt - Devour

He’d upset Regulus because he couldn’t keep important information in his head and asking Regulus to dinner at his parents had been some of the most important information he’d ever forgotten. He couldn’t help it, sometimes someone told him something, and he instantly forgot what they’d said. 

Doctor's appointments used to be a nightmare for him, as by the time he’d thanked the receptionist he’d forgotten the time he was meant to be there and had to ring back. He swore they’d only implemented the appointment confirmation texts with the time and date on because of him. 

He was holding Regulus in his arms, trying to convey how sorry he was through grip alone. 

“We should go back in,” Regulus murmured against his chest. “Sirius will get mad if he has to wait too much longer to yell out ‘Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it’s bobsled time! Cool Runnings!’” Regulus's impression of an excited Sirius was dead on.

“Have we finished with the 80s films then?” James asked as he started moving Regulus towards the door.

“No, that’s just one of Sirius’s favourite films. We’ve got one of my favourites. A crazy old man gets killed, and his young student has to travel back in time to fix everything and almost wipes himself from existence when he inadvertently disrupts his parent's first real meeting.” Regulus explained, leaning his head on James’s shoulder as they walked the short distance back into the house. 

“Oh, I think I know which one you’re talking about,” James grins as he opens the door for Regulus. 

They settle in for the evening with Sirius and Remus. James dragged Regulus onto his lap as they cuddled up for the film. 

Regulus was correct with his impression of Sirius, though apparently, he’d downplayed how much Sirius loved the film as he was quoting it word for word. James didn’t mind though, he’d seen it before, he was more interested in the man curled up on him. 

Halfway through, Remus paused the film and came back with a huge bowl of popcorn that he sat on the coffee table in front of them. It took the rest of the film for them to devour its contents and by that point, James was just eating it because it was there. He was overfull and sleepy. Regulus tugged at his arm, trying to get him to stand. 

“Come on, sleepy head, time for bed,” He snickered as he fruitlessly pulled at James, not able to budge him an inch. James stretched and yawned widely before hauling himself to his feet. 

“Come on, love, time for bed,” He yawned again, lifting Regulus off his feet and throwing him over his shoulder. “Night, he called to Sirius and Remus over Regulus’s protests as he climbed the stairs to their bedroom.
