Alma's Avatar gravesite

I don't know about you but I've always been bothered by the avatar's grave...

I don't know who chose it to be buried there but I fully believe it was Ri'nela who chose it while Alma mentally recovered from the experience of feeling herself die via the avatar, (in a convo, Alma did mention she still wasn't feeling well, most likely from that ordeal)

I think it was meant to be a symbolic slap in the face by Ri'nela against Alma, or a subtle revenge.

Look where it is.

It's in the middle of a clearing, very little in the way of plant life and so the nutrients of the avatar only go to the soil around it, not nurturing any other plant life or trees. It's by a mountainside, with no flowers, very little grass and not even alined (the OCD part of my brain wants it straight, not diagonal.)

I think this is kinda symbolic; robbing the avatar to be very useful to Pandora, robbing Alma also the choice of having it buried where she wants and it's out of the way where no one will venture or see it or even mourn with her. Setting the avatar away, being useful to the bugs, nothing else. No funeral rites either, bc an avatar is not 'real' enough for it.

As someone who enjoys angst and angst on Alma specifically, it does make me wonder about how that affects her mentally. She's at rock bottom and digging, the avatar's burial was shoddy in her eyes because she's the only one grieving her losses and the loss of the avatar. I bet she hates that she didn't choose it too, even if she'd never mention it.

I could be overthinking it but it puts Alma right where Ri'nela or the Sarentu are emotionally from their experiences with TAP, even if it's non-comparable with the abuse and hell the Sarnetu went through. Alma's experiencing a fraction of it first-hand for the first time and this time, there's little reprieve from it.
