Beetle Rex

This was a Sunday afternoon project. We entered the Hone Zone.

One of these days I'll complete a wave and build that ultimate figure.

You'd think it would be this one - consisting of only 4 figures, pulling from the series earliest entries in celebration of their 20th anniversary.

An easy one to collect and build - but still I only picked up this one.

I guess I have trouble committing.

#I have more notes regarding this fella compared to the other fnaf 2 robos which is why they’re being posted separately #and also he took me almost a week to render and I’m very bitter!!!!!!!!!!!#I realized while drawing this that he wouldn’t be able to stand up properly with those thin flimsy limbs of theirs #but they crawl around anyways so use your suspension of disbelief for this specific drawing #also. ribcage area is kinda bs but I imagine the spine is constructed similarly to a human’s #the animatronics would have a smoother/dynamic range of motion #that way they can bend down to a kid’s eye level and seem less predatory #OH and I changed everyone’s names so they’re a little more unique #but I’ll still refer to this one as toy foxy or mangle just bc #art #character design #final incarnation au #mangle #five nights at freddy's #fnaf #fnaf fanart

This drawing is based off one of the few Construct Bots shorts. These are short-lived and too-little-sold figures that worked along the lines of Bionicles: you have the robot's frame, then you put on the pieces you need. Don't be fooled though - you'll end with the primary form, and then you'll have a couple of bits and bobs necessary for transformation. Yes, guys, these bots are mostly Triple Changers!

Still, the shorts are really fun. Thought they are really few due to the bad reception of the toys, they are one minute of slapsticky antics with some action going on!

Minho's skill as a Runner to never give up hope would backfire in the most tragic way possible

Teresa tries to help: the simulations where WCKD allows Minho to escape WCKD only to tear him back to reality produce far less enzymes than regular terror. It wasn't efficient to use those simulations.

and if Teresa can't bear to listen to Minho sob when he wakes up, that's irrelevant

But Minho fights back much, much less when his hopes are continuously crushed. So WCKD continues them.

Each time, Teresa hopes that Minho will stop getting his hopes up. Once he gives up, the simulations become useless, and WCKD will stop.

Each time, he forces himself to believe them.

#I was toying with the idea that Minho wouldn't take the opportunity to escape because he'd be so used to it being a lie #but then I remembered that his time as a Runner in the Maze was spent doing exactly the opposite: keeping hope in face of inevitable failur #which was cute. Welp, this Yule is gonna be chaos, but upside, you get Ancient Toys and Games till I can get back to the main comic of Changes! Kicking things off is the humble marbles! Now I'm throwing this is right now, when you prebake polymer clay, you have a time worth of an hour for many layers of sculpting in between before it becomes overcooked. The marbles will be coming back again as honestly, there are many ancient games that do involve pebbles or marbles and might as well get the most versatile one out of the way. Anywho, echoing Avalon, tune in next time for Ancient Greek Pottery Felt Dolls! Let's just hope Curly and Eileen behave themselves for that one...
