Trying to make the best of today tbh. It's been absolutely demoralising in regards to personal affairs but hey, I made the appropriate choice to switch platforms. That did ease some awful anxiety. To be honest, I'm so very grateful that my friend dragged me here. <3 It was a whim but also, I wanted a last-ditch effort to save my creativity. And boy, you guys delivered. Your creativity inspires me. It's an echo chamber, a good one of so many beautiful writings and ideas. ><

This morning I tried on my old Luke fon Fabre cosplay, which is genuinely one of my greatest accomplishments in terms of craftsmanship - patterned from scratch, fully lined, binded with handsewing on the inside for an invisible seam, made the bias tape binding myself out of really nice silk, just a lowkey masterful work that is well constructed with really nice material and has the right weight and reads like an actual garment. And unsurprisingly, it now BARELY fits because I made it when I was like 25 and I am now 30 and bodies change (especially this past year).

Very optimistically I tried doing a precursory look at how to alter cosplays that are now too small for you, thinking "a lot of us are getting older surely there's lots of knowledge about this" and then I was reminded that cosplay is largely Modeling Lite and they don't like to acknowledge that ageing is a thing that happens there, so there was nothing immediately useful.

BUT I know that clothing alteration /in general/ is a thing, so I'll just have to learn how to do it from a general garment alteration perspective and then apply that to my old cosplays. It's worth doing because many of them are very good and I never got proper photos of Luke.

Anyway, if I do this I'll probably document it because I would like other people to know that it's normal for stuff to not fit you anymore and that's no reason to not wear your cosplay of some blorbo from a game that came out almost 20 years ago

I forgot that some people just revel in being mean, even if there’s no reason. I mean I know humanity and the world is a garbage can right now but…damn.

I also forgot that I’m a perpetual bleeding heart, and get real sad at other people being awful. I haven’t had a depressive ep in a few months, probably overshadowed by the stress of moving house. So i guess my dumb ass is overdue.

Anyways, spread some kindness today if you can, folks. It’s rough out here.

(And if you’d like to send some hc asks to take my mind away from negativity/focusing on work…….i wouldnt be opposed 😂)
