Ok but when they parallel this scene with Viktor as machine herald looking at jayce’s broken human body and realizing that he too would do anything in his power to save him, what then?

Prompt:
Instead of coming back as a crime lord, Jason pretends to be a vengeful revenant, haunting Gotham criminals and the batfamily.
This has… consequences.

i feel like reading Ashley’s crying fits as emotional manipulation falls into either misunderstanding or a bad faith reading of her personality. especially flashback childhood scenes. Ashley legitimately feels like if Andrew is not on board with her he hates her and wants nothing to do with her- look at her social life, the way her mother treats her. sure its not logical but her past experience with people would guide her to that conclusion. *person* doesn’t like something i do/say = i end up alone again. to hear these kinds of words come out of a child’s mouth, a responsible and mentally stable adult’s response would be to hold her hand and guide her through these feelings, and explain to her that the world does not operate in the black and white lenses she views them from…. now when is Ashley ever surrounded by someone of this description. this explanation would need to come from a parental figure, or a role model in the child’s life, somebody the child trusts and looks to for guidance. who is this person for Ashley??? Andrew. another child. not a well rounded, stable, emotionally mature adult with the past experiences to prove these thought patterns wrong. and how does he respond? by giving in. his little sister is crying, upset, and mom and dad don’t like dealing with her and explicitly tell him its his responsibility to placate her and make sure she’s taken care of and listening to them- whenever they decide they’re going to attempt at parenting that is. they never tell him how to do this, all they want is for their daughter to shut up and leave them alone. in this moment, his little sister is crying and that is unacceptable. based on his past experiences, the fastest (and only) way to solve this problem that nobody else wants to deal with is to do what she wants to do. give in. let her have her way. even in the most extreme of circumstances, because neither of them have reliable responsible role models. as they grow up, Andrew builds resentment towards his sister for this, he’s always doing whatever she wants and they’re acting on her whims because they never learned otherwise. misdirected anger that should have been angled at their parents.. so why isn’t it? because their mother was a hostile, volatile person, who punished him for straying an inch out of line. follow orders and keep up appearances, or else. make sure she does the same, or else. expressing any sort of resentment or anger towards anyone but Ashley would have resulted in an outburst from their mother. there is a line, though. Renee may not have given him any sound examples or advice to follow but she did tell him what not to do: resort to physical violence. she knows it’s not a solution to behavior, we can assume she has experience with this because of her reaction to Andrew trying it out on his sister. and in light of their parents deaths, what does Andrew resort to? physical violence. why? because he’s learned that while it may not change Ashley’s behavior (like their mother said), it makes her listen in the moment. and it feels good, to finally let out his frustrations and he won’t be punished for it. this is him ‘acting out’. he finally has the chance to act without punishment and he uses it to do the only thing that he was explicitly told not to do. why does Ashley act the way she does? because she has 2 decades of experience telling her that what she does effects everyone but herself. she has never dealt with punishment, or consequences, in her entire 20 years of life. she has never had to keep up appearances, or stay in line, because she was never given a reason to. Andrew was. soo.. Andrew’s girlfriend breaks up with him, they kill their parents, they’ve been socially isolated and starved for months with the threat of death right around the corner and then they’re both given a chance to take advantage of an object that ultimately would relieve them of consequences.. but what’s the catch? there doesn’t seem to be one, but Andrew knows better. At least in this instance.
#🔪#apparently there’s a text limit lmao so anyway i also wanna say#the only time in her life that Ashley was threatened with consequences was during their starvation. ‘listen or dont eat’#AND EVEN THEN. the threat didnt mean shit. the warden was never going to help them either way.#so Ashley’s one and only experience with the threat of consequence ended with ‘it doesnt matter what i do im gonna die’#so she had no reason to not continue on doing whatever she wanted.#and when Andrew finally gets to experience what’s its like to not have to deal with consequences he’s proven to be just as impulsive#he’s just suppressed it for 20 years. ‘doing what im not supposed to feels good and nothings gonna happen to me.. unless my sister decides#to kill me. but i know how to make her stay in line’ *violence ensues* and Ashley has NEVER seen this before. she doesn’t know#what to do in this situation but turn to the only thing that can continue to relieve her of consequences (dying at her brothers hand)#The Entity. The Trinket. Feeding into her brother’s substance abuse issues and chaining him to a radiator. etc etc#when Andrew hits her in the car & she starts crying it’s not ‘soo Leyley of her to resort to emotional manipulation’ thats a terrified kid#who doesn’t know what she did wrong because she’s never done anything wrong. she’s never had a consequence.#she plays games and she just wants her brother to stick around.#tcoaal#ashley graves#andrew graves

hello i am just not over the fact that rio left her there to bury their son by herself. just left her there. i know she had to take nicky, i know that the walk of death can't be short, but why didn't she come back. she had all night. rio had all night. why didn't she come back. agatha is stubborn and will hold a grudge, a death of a child can tear apart the strongest of relationships, but she could've helped dig the grave. she could have held her. she could have been there.

This quest annoys me. A lot. So far, I've never done it. I intend to try with another character at some point. I originally thought I'd try it with my human noble for RP, but he's a relatively nice (and rather religious) guy, so I feel like the disrespect of desecrating an ancient burial site, even if it's a culture he may not understand, is still a bit too much. I mean, I don't see a problem with being able to do it as an option, I guess. I just feel like that being the only solution to the "puzzle" is kind of stupid. Hell, at least don't lock the damn mosaic piece behind it. I don't even need the loot.
On this playthrough, I managed to exploit the mount glitch that lets you clip through the door of the crypt without destroying the graves, just to retrieve the mosaic piece. Also, found out too late that there is a mod for this.
#Dragon Age#Dragon Age: Inquisition#DAI#as somebody who mains the Dalish Warden and who spent considerable time also playing Lavellan#let me just say that I'm not a fan of how especially DAII and DAI treat the Dalish sometimes#to me it feels like DAII was determined to ruin and pretty much wipe out the Dalish elves#not only they're kinda stupid and incompetent in that game#but on my first playthrough I did not know I had to treat Merrill like a literal fucking child to save MY OWN Warden's clan#the first time I ended up having to fight them and kill them#THAT WAS JUST GREAT#THAT MADE ME LOVE THE GAME EVEN MORE#THAT WAS MY WARDEN'S FAMILY#I was so pissed#I just had to turn it off at that point and take a break#it was one of the several reasons why I disliked DAII so much on my first playthrough#and in DAI you can easily accidentally end up leading your whole clan to their deaths as an elf and nobody has a damn thing to say about it#you can just go through the first three games wiping out each of the Dalish clans#I guess I can forgive being able to do it in Origins because it was the first game and there it is a CHOICE that had actual consequences#your companions argue with you about it‚ ask you not to do it#ZEVRAN ASKS YOU NOT TO DO IT#you lose approval at the very least#you lose allies#it's there for RP#but in DAII and DAI it just boils down to a fucking OOPSIE unless you have meta knowledge of the game or you're lucky#AND I DO NOT LIKE IT#but you know what? let's destroy Dalish graves too#''why don't Dalish elves follow Solas/Evanuris in Veilguard?''#IDK maybe because the three previous games might have annihilated most of them lmao

this moment so fucked up💀
#horror spn moments and its dean torturing sam psychologically in 4 different ways under a min he could've just asked if sam lied#the pacing the lightful to knife lethal seriousness the yelling dean so psychopath 💔#this messes with my head bruh i hated how i couldn't actually predict how he'd lash out on sam#chat I think its time to kill dean#its fucked up that sam spends this arc trying to SAVE dean and the narration and dean treat him like he's melting the earth's crust#and must be crucified#meanwhile when dean decides he might have to KILL sam it's painted as a heroic sacrifice for the greater good#sam doomed if he tries to save but is manipulated and doomed if he tries to also save and well-intentioned#and his punishment for both times Is just death#why are we lowering the guillotine on the guy for trying to save his brother???? he was literally distressed and hiding about it#like he's smuggling a nuclear bomb with full determination to destroy the planet#yea there was grave consequences later but dean's gripe was him going against his wish to be doomed with the mark#you can talk respecting wishes if dean wasn't spending the whole last season flagrantly ignoring sam's wishes half the time#and the other half he spends it DEVASTATED when sam says he'll respect his wishes if he were in his shoes. the whole theme of s9 finale#was dean WANTING to be saved by sam and asking for that morally grey treatment back#If he's gon change his mind one minute and the other then he could have just not practically begged for what sam was doing here#dean's emotional fluctuations arent sam's responsibility#this sounds deancrit but no I'm just speaking from a pov everyone collectively decided to ignore part of its nuance#sam winchester#dean winchester#samdean#spn meta in tags#mine#the editing is supposed to make it haha but the scene is still not hahaing sm..

This morning, police officers arrived and began to physically remove students from the university grounds. A police spokesman, Robert Szumiata, said that the “rector asked us to unblock the traffic routes”.
The autonomy of universities is protected by law, which states that police can only enter campus in cases of immediate danger to people's lives or health or upon the rector's request.
Alojzy Nowak, the rector, refused to negotiate: he refused to let students into the building, fearing that 'they would start occupying the negotiation room'. He didn't come out to meet the students outside either, despite the intervention of MPs (Members of Parliament), reluctantly sent by students to investigate the situation (they weren't too happy to be represented by politicians and not listened to by the rector directly), whom he had agreed to let in.
The protesters were ID'd by the police and got charged with "disturbing the domestic peace", even though they were protesting outside the university's buildings.
The students demand:
A public, resolute, and unequivocal condemnation of Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip and the occupation of Palestine. Recognition of the right to return for forcibly displaced Palestinians, to statehood, and to equality.
Severing cooperation with Israeli academic institutions and other organizations and companies that are linked to the occupation of Palestine and the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, as well as boycotting Israeli institutions at the national and international level until the end of the occupation of Palestine."

It would seem her ire had done its work, for the assembled Lords dispersed with the crowd, amidst muttered apologies for upsetting the Princess. No such regrets were bestowed upon Maeglin, but he understood. They did not know the truth. Did not want to know. It was easier, he supposed, for them to simply hate him... rather than consider that things were not so clear cut.
It hardly mattered to him, beaten to the point where he could hardly stand without assistance. All he cared about in that moment was when he could get a drink of water. His throat was so dry, so torn from screaming himself hoarse.
Idril was speaking.
Though his head remained low, Maeglin turned it ever so slightly so as to hear his cousin better. Her comforting tone and promise of sanctuary elicited a small smile, barely noticeable and gone too soon.
"Thank you," his voice was cracked and quiet, hardly audible. Every step was agony, and if he had not been so grateful for the dignity it provided, he would have cast off the robe that rubbed against his injuries. "I- I thought that to be my execution.."
He would be crying, if his body could spare the moisture.

Febhyurary 2025 Day 07 - Sleep
"After I awoke a strange girl explained to me that I had been asleep for a long while and that my head had been badly injured. It certainly hurt enough to make her tale believable. She seemed to be a medic and told me to stay in bed and rest until I was fully healed. Strangely enough she did so without speaking a single word and only communicated using notes quickly but cleanly written on a drawing pad. Despite this oddity and the fact that I had never seen or heard of a person like her before - strange scales covered parts of her face and arms and equally scaly horns grew where her ears should have been - she seemed very friendly and I felt like I could trust her."

UGH I hate that I have to suffer consequences for my actions. Like what do you mean I have to deal with this problem that I have created that was entirely avoidable had I not created it?

An understated Season 6 AU idea:
But one I've used twice in two different ways, is the idea that Tara's death is ultimately an equivalent exchange (and that idea, and what gets sacrificed with that spell is why I like the idea of having Tara do the spell as a guidance to what she would sacrifice if it was her instead of Willow, because Whedon already told the Willow story and simply redoing what someone else did with minor revisions is plagiarism with extra steps to me, personally).
So if, in the event, Buffy still dies, and Willow discovers the prospect of that equivalent exchange and that she'd face the choice of her soulmate or her best friend in real time, I 100% think given her self-loathing and lack of value in herself on the one hand and the destructive elements of that selfless love that held the seeds of her darker, destructive elements with Oz, Xander, and Tara in three different ways that she would plunge herself into self-sacrifice and create an equally big mess without really bothering to think of how anyone else would deal with it.
Willow 100% has a dark and sadistic streak on the one hand that is never hidden so much as benefting from narrative favoritism ala Whedon. Willow is utterly ruthless and hides that behind her adorableness when she wants to. I also 100% think if she'd had the slightest idea she might have condemned Tara to that fate that she'd take it on herself instead because Buffy living is important, Tara living her own life on her own terms is important, but Willow herself living?
Why she's not that important at all and if the best thing she could do is march to destruction as a kind of savior figure, well that's just the best of all worlds.
So in short, 'Willow gets shot instead of Tara because Willow knew the entire time the actual consequences of her actions and still has the big blowup with Tara because Tara misreads things and fears the consequences of that spell and is proven entirely right just like she was in canon but in a much more unpleasant way for everyone involved.'
And of course since Willow's both a main character and one that essentially would never stay dead, she gets a plot haxx resurrection angle...but not before the price of her death would lead to a great deal of a mess.
#willow rosenberg#tara maclay#season 6#buffy meta#the idea of that resurrection spell as equivalent exchange was essentially canonized by the show and comic in different ways#the reality of it in turn is that this is clear in hindsight#if it had become clear in foresight I don't think even an egotistical power-mad Willow would allow Tara to die#at the most negative and harsh 'bashing' characterization it's the logical extension of a savior complex#at a less harsh but more in line with the show element Willow's selfless love takes a different path to the same outcome#either way she delves too deep into magic and lives are wrecked all the way around for it#either way she wouldn't care a damn until it's too late#either way Tara gets FUBARed by the narrative but in one way she dies and in another she lives but may not be entirely happy she did#and either way Tara would 100% have major issues with the consequences of the spell even if she was for it#and if she suspected that same exchange was there and Willow didn't care and WIllow understandably elected to keep quiet she did#well you wind up with a different version of their Season 6 dynamic and a different path to the same outcome#best part is both the most negative take on Willow's motives and the most positive would go the same direction here#she would die so others lived and it would be the same outcome regardless of why#the kind of story told OTOH would hinge very heavily on good Willow vs Mall Goth Sauron Willow#and the kind of person that walks out of the grave because muh contract IRL would also hinge on that too
