One evening, as they lounged in the hotel room after a grueling training session, Misa broached the subject with gentle determination.

“Laia, there's something I need to talk to you about,” Misa began, her voice soft yet resolute.

Laia looked up from her phone, curiosity flickering in her eyes. “What is it, Misa? Is everything okay?”

Taking a deep breath, Misa forged ahead, her words laced with unwavering support. “I've noticed how you look at her.” Misa didn't pronounce your name, but Laia knew exactly who Misa was referring to. “Laia. It's obvious that you look at her differently than you do at me, or at Jenni, for example. And I think it's time you tell her.”

Laia's heart skipped a beat at Misa's words, her cheeks flushing with a mixture of embarrassment and longing. “But what if she doesn't feel the same way? What if I make her uncomfortable? I don't want that. She's been my friend since we were kids. I don't know what I'd do if—”

Misa reached out and took Laia's hand in hers, her gaze steady and reassuring. "Laia, love is worth the risk. And if she truly cares about you, she'll understand and appreciate your honesty. You owe it to yourself to speak from the heart and finally be your truest self when you're with her. I've noticed how you remain less physical with her to prevent making her uncomfortable, or how you look at our other teammates when they hug her. Or how you get tense when she gives you a playful tap on the back of your head. Either way, I'm going to be by your side, whether you end up crying from sadness or from happiness."

Moved by Misa's unwavering support, Laia nodded, a newfound sense of determination coursing through her veins. With Misa by her side, she knew she could face whatever lay ahead.

The following day, Laia finally worked up the courage to confess her love to you. With shaking hands and a heart full of hope, she finally poured out her feelings in a moment of vulnerability and truth.

To Laia's delight, your response was nothing but reassuring and accepting. You confessed that you had feelings for Laia as well, but had been too afraid to speak up for fear of ruining their friendship.

Pairings: F!Tav / Halsin Tags: N/A unless you count a bear popping a boner Word Count: 422 Summary: Scratch is missing. Halsin uses his bear to find him. Utter fucking shenanigans ensue. A/N: BAAHAHAAHAAHAHAAAHA Here's more of Blood and Honey from somewhere around chapter three. With Tav upon his back, the pair wandered away from the party and deeper into the forest. 

“Scratch! Here boy!”

Halsin growled, the rumble of it vibrating her bones. “Best to not,” He cautioned. “We do not know what hunts tonight. I will sniff him out.”

“Don’t you need a lock of his hair or a favorite toy or something?”

“Normally yes,” He answered. “But I don’t think I need to. This creature must be special to you for you to be so saturated with his scent. Did you raise him from a pup?” 

“I…no. I just met him a week or so ago.”

Halsin the Bear still had most of the faculties of Halsin the Elf. He could think and reason and plot and scheme. But the bear parsed the elf’s complex mortal emotions through a bear’s simpler lens. Therefore the admiration he felt at Tav’s devotion to her companion didn’t translate fully and came through as only the bear could make sense of it.

Hunger. 

And not the belly-filling kind.

On his back, Tav shifted and Halsin was made keenly aware she was sitting astride him.

Oak Father preserve me…

Halsin sniffed the air and did his damndest to filter Tav out. The bear noted, rather nonchalantly, that her scent told him she was young, healthy, and very fertile. 

Halsin snorted, hoping the action would expel that particular smell from his nose.

“Everything okay? I must smell terrible covered in all this mud, huh?”

“It’s not great,” he lied, realizing belatedly he just told a beautiful woman that she stank if only to avoid admitting to said beautiful woman that he could smell her ovulating and that it was driving him to distraction.

Halsin, if you don’t locate this dog right now!

“Sorry,” Tav muttered sheepishly. “I feel foolish even asking for your help. You’re an archdruid, it’s kinda beneath you to go looking for lost dogs.”

“It is precisely because I am an archdruid that I am duty-bound to assist. Finding lost dogs, especially ones so loved, are well within my charge.”

“Thank you,” Absent-mindedly, Tav reached forward and scratched behind his ears like did for Scratch and Kanid before him. The pleasurable sensation nearly dropped Halsin to his knees.

“Please, do not do that again!” He growled.

Tav snatched away. “I’m sorry!”

Tav wiggled, trying to get down from his back, rubbing her crotch against him, stirring up more of her pheromones as she blubbered apologies. “I’m so sorry! I totally forgot someone was in there!”

“Don’t move, do not…stop…Tav please…”

Suddenly, the bear scented blood replacing the hunger that made his loins ache with a new emotion.

Rage.

A/N: Now that I've better fleshed out a thornier section later in the fic, I have a feeling more snippets from earlier parts of the story will come at a decent clip. During the administration of Rodrigo Duterte, the extrajudicial killings were not just confined to the drug war. They also extended to the government’s counterinsurgency program, according to a human rights group.

In their term-ender report, Karapatan said that there were 422 victims of extrajudicial killings and 574 frustrated extrajudicial killings in the name of counterinsurgency during the Duterte administration. A large number of the victims came from the peasant sector (336), followed by indigenous peoples (75) and Moro (47). These are separate numbers from the more than 30,000 drug-related extrajudicial killings.

"The link is far from tenuous. For instance, Oplan Sauron, a bloody counter-insurgency operation jointly conducted by the military and police that was centered on Negros island was actually framed as an operational plan not just against rebel groups but criminals and individuals involved in the illegal drug trade,” Karapatan said.

Debold Sinas, who was then the Central Visayas police chief Brigadier General at the height of the civilian killings under Oplan Sauron, was appointed as the National Capital Region police chief and later promoted to PNP Chief during the Duterte administration. Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Noel Clement, who was the military commander in Central Visayas, was appointed as the AFP Chief of Staff.

Duterte did not attend the 10th hearing of quadcomm and asked the investigating committee to refer to the transcript of the Senate hearing. His testimony was filled with confessions on how he instructed police officers to manufacture the narrative of “nanlaban.”
