One of my favourite furniture sets over the years has always been the Tivoli, Plantation set by blake_boy over at ModTheSims. As well as some super cute dressers by rgdyanne over at Sims2Artists. I heavily recommend both sets with this pack.

I've used it way too many times and around October of 2022, I ended up feeling like I wanted to work on some addons for it. I've always wanted to get into making actual objects in Sims 2 since I love making things for another irrelevant game I mod. I decided this would be a great way to try and learn.

There is also the option of desk widening! I find that on the original desks, my sims' PCs would hang off the edge which is not ideal.

I'll keep them separate in case you want to keep the originals :) Same filename and GUID as the original. I did try to make the wider ones a separate GUID but it didn't work so I'm gonna leave that for now and figure it out at some point.

ABOUT

Cordelia Danvers was born in 1989 in Aurora Bay, to a mother and a father that she assumed were soulmates. However, years later, after both of her siblings were born, she'd be proven wrong with a divorce and a new girlfriend on her father's arm. This would have warped her perception of love, romance, relationships until her late teen years... and she'd become conditioned to believe that nothing ever lasts forever, so why bother.

Growing up, Cordelia always wanted to be the center of attention, she'd give anything to be in the spotlight — but mostly because once her sisters had arrived, she found herself often overlooked by people due to their youth and 'cuteness'. At least with her mother, the favoritism was retained until she was ten — and until Sloane had showed a talent far greater than hers. All because of...

Pageants. Cordy hadn't shied away from her early age dream of stardom, telling her mother she wanted to be like the princesses she saw on television. Fortunately for her, Daphne Danvers entertained her daughter's ambitions, and began entering her into local beauty pageants at her request.

It was something that she carried on competing in — and winning — until her teenage years, gathering crown after crown and hoping that eventually she'll go on to compete in Miss California USA one day. Although, it was not meant to be when her father intervened at sixteen and said enough. It had taken over her life and she needed to focus on her academics, he'd said, much to her disapproval. After several arguments between them, Daphne caved and told Cordy that she could only continue competing in pageants if she achieved highly in her studies.

Unfortunately, academics had never been her strong suit, and that was the end of her pageant career.

For the rest of her teenage years, she despised her mother and father, and made it known through truancy and bad behavior. She wasn't the perfect golden child like Sloane.

Luckily, she was able to scrape the grades to earn her a place at the Florida State University, majoring in journalism. It was an almost random choice, something to keep her parents happy, and she'd grown up watching Sex and the City, and believed she was in fact a Carrie.

She joined Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and eventually became President on the Chapter Council. Again, she allowed herself to stray from her academics and began to focus more into planning events and the guys from Kappa Sigma.

Graduating in the summer, she was able to secure an internship through her just above average grades and extra-curriculars, to KTLA-TV station in Los Angeles. She grew tired of running around and collecting coffees, and began to make connections — sweet talking anyone who would listen, those particularly that she'd spotted needed an ego boost.

It was only a few years down the line that she'd been able to swindle her way into an interview for a field reporter for KTLA 5 News and was offered the role of a lifetime. It wasn't a secret to her that perhaps her employment hadn't been solely based off her ability to talk, but potentially more so her preened appearance. However, it didn't matter, she was here.

After successful runs for a number of years, she soon became a co-anchor for the evening news and could report on current events from the comfort of the studio, becoming a known name in Southern California — if people watched the news.

Living in Los Angeles and not far from her small hometown, she attempted to keep in contact with her family as much as she could — however, she often became distracted by the lavish parties she attended and the single life she so independently lived.

She was on track to receive a promotion as a solo news anchor, when she'd heard of Sloane's pregnancy, she couldn't believe it. It was typical that of course, her sister had to steal the limelight, again. However, she wasn't completely heartless and after making sure her promotion was secure, she booked some time off, then decided to visit her old town — with definitely no coercion from her mother.

She doesn't know how long she plans on staying in town, but she's here to give Sloane some support and have a 'well deserved' break.

kind of spiraled by the state of this condominum. i feel like wanting to give up on it and just leave sigh. escapist tendencies raging right now. im reminding myself to breathe in and out and sleep on it and not to let my emotions get the best of me. im tired but ill be ok.

i cant believe im back from japan already. i had a wonderful time..my heart is aching to have left so soon. i know im getting back to really enjoying travel again. i dont know if thats a blessing or a curse.

A world focused on Elder gameplay. (I'd call it TS4 Golden Years.) It's a very overlooked life stage, but it has potential. It would be a world based on coastal Florida, probably called Golden Beach. It would have... Senior Center Lot Trait: Spawns Elder Sims, much in the way the Teen Hangout spawns Teen Sims Bingo Shuffleboard Condominums and the ability to buy vacation homes without mods, and without tricks involving retail lots (which is essentially what the mod I use does for you). The condos would work like penthouses from City Living in that your Sims own them outright (rather than renting them), but also like apartments in that you have to stay within the shell in Build/Buy mode. Kind of an integration of the Better Elders mod. Golf, or mini-golf Estate-planning stuff A way to shorten or eliminate the "Dangerously Tired" moodlet Home phones, newspapers, and analog doorbells "Senior Discounts" for Elder Sims at retail lots, bars, restaurants, and food stalls New outfits in CAS Canes and walkers in CAS Some new CAS traits and aspirations, like Active Senior or Great Grandparent Cross Compatibility with: Spa Day, Cottage Living, Nifty Knitting Stuff, Get Together, and Growing Together

"Yes. I had my own settlement."

He sighed, looking down.

"First a camp near Atlanta...then a prison...when we got to Terminus...almost died there...then a church...but not for long. We tried a condominum, where one of our friends lived, but it had been overrun. We spent some nights in a barn..." He shook his head. "Then we were found and...got to a community called Alexandria." A tear rolled down his face. "Christ it has been 8 years..." Rick was very close to breaking down. "Things were...working. We found other communities...we traded...we fought the Saviors...and...and now...it's all gone..." He covered his lips with his hand, swallowing a crying sigh, pausing.

"Some survived and ran but...my family...the closest ones...my group...they're all gone. Sometimes I wonder if...was...was it all for nothing?" his jaw shook, eyes so wet.

"If...if you had let me take you there and settled your people, it's possible the CRM security would keep an eye on you for some days, just to be sure you're not some threat...and then, you would eventually just become part of it. The place would be fairly safer, consider it's inside the CRM domain. More security resources, even if the roads and woods can be dangerous, the villages and communities normally are safe, unless...I don't know, something unusual happens. The CRM can spot the hordes though, predict where they're gonna hit...redirect them even." He sobbed a bit, his chest a bit shaky, he rubbed his eyes.

"It's not about being told or not....you just....you could just follow their rules and your people would be fine. With patience you could mix and become part of the CRM, join the military even, rank up." He shrugged. "I was a rebel too. I...I am...rebel. But sometimes we have no choice." a tear escaped his eyes.

"It's not about you harming my children...it's...anything that makes the CRM unstable...could affect them." He said, trying to avoid revealing more. At least for now. "Just by trying to execute my plan instead of having the CRM do the fastest most efficient way because I wanted to help...that's some level of betrayal." He sighed, looking down. "But the excuse that people are resources....it covers up...it's a good excuse to try and move the people. But now it's too late. It's ruined.

"You don't have to lie to me. Of course you'll tell your most loyal men about what I said. You think you...you still think you can fight them." Rick frowned and closed his eyes. "You can't. And even if you destroyed the Military, it would make all the Republic unstable...thousands...hundreds...would...- innocent people who have nothing to do with this....Christ, they don't even know the things the military do..." His eyes moved away from hers. He was leaking info trying to make her understand, but if she was like him, she would insist until she saw for herself, right?

His eyes were indeed heavy...

"Thank you for the hospitality." Rick stood slowly, body aching, walking to the bed, slowly lying down after taking the pants off and folding them, ready for the next day. He pulled the covers and sank against the softness. She could have made him sleep on the floor. Even if she was an enemy, she was being kind, it was impossible to deny- even if she was doing that for information, he could be torturing him for that as well.

Rick ate politely, savoring the food. He had his portion, it was enough. He didn't like to feel full, he didn't like to overeat and feel groggy. His eyes were thankful for the meal. When she mentioned killing him with her teeth, a soft smirk formed on his lips as he looked down, his eyes on her from time to time. Oh he had done it. Bite someone's throat, tear it apart- he had done it. Had done it and still could do it. There were things that crossed his mind, but he remained silent, keeping his thoughts to himself. The brief despair of the blushing had passed, his mind was more stable now, he was listening to her words, watching her gestures. She spoke about killing as if nothing were...just like him. Each second, he identified more with her. "Yeah...from scratch...to a community that works..." He smiled a bit, smiled at some memories. "It's a satisfaction that.....I never thought I'd feel." His eyes got a bit teary. "The first time I grew some tomatoes...and...washed them...and served them on a meal...fed my children with it...it felt..." Rick had no words for that. "I felt I was doing the right thing...I felt as if all...had been worth it- I felt some hope in this hell." And then his son died...and he lost almost everything. His eyes were quick to sadden, he went silent for a bit. Yes, he was smart. And his eyes were sharp, even hurt, even tired, his eyes weren't the ones of a sheep- his stare held some danger. If she tried to bite, he also would. If she tried to stab, he would try to break her neck, blind her eyes- he wouldn't just...give up, even if all he managed to do was a scratch on her cheek, he wouldn't go down without a fight- But that...that was pointless. Considering the possibility now was pointless. It made no sense. She wasn't going to kill him if he didn't give her a reason to- and he wasn't going to give her any reason.

"If you had listened to me, if my plan hadn't failed, I would be moving your people to a small CRM colony, mostly farmland, a calm place- and indirectly, you would be part of the CRM, have access to more resources. Even if you had no access to the central, to the headquarters or the hidden city...you...you would have a chance to be part of it. Your people would be able to volunteer to join the military, or transfer to Omaha, Campus Colony, Philadelphia or Portland...but...but now you're enemies. Enemies. Pure enemies....a threat to be erased." Rick sighed. "Before all this...you were just a rock in the road- neutral people. The CRM didn't want to kill you as goal...but as a mean to get this land. That's why my operation was one option...it was an idea the higher ups accepted...because it would avoid many deaths and...people are resources so...the smaller colonies would only win with that." He looked at her, hesitant- not knowing if he should spill the beans.

"The CRM....the Civic Republic...is way more than you could imagine. You wouldn't believe it if I told you." Rick drank more water, already feeling a lot better than before. "When you know about the CRM...you either join it or die. You can't escape it." He said, his voice sad, tired and rough. "Your people already know too much. That alone now is a reason for the CRM to kill you. The first scouts who were sent....it was unfortunate that they were so hostile. Deals could have been made. But now it's too late. The CRM won't even listen to me, considering all the soldiers you killed...and all the vehicles you destroyed." He curled a bit, rubbing one of his arms, eyes a bit heavy. His guard clearly wasn't high around her. He was calm. "I'm not sure if I should say any more." Rick gave her a careful stare. "I don't support the CRM as it is...but I'm not a traitor. I don't want you to become an actual threat. My children live there, and they are my priority. They are in the best place they could be in the world now."
