Music adjacent news: the kids don’t care to drink! And it’s funny because..

I definitely don’t drink as much as I did say 5 years ago. It just doesn’t feel the same, I guess. We’re washed!!! But.. looks like the younger generation prefers edibles and other things as opposed to getting shitfaced at shows and events and more..

Is it also maybe that they should lower the cost of booze at events/clubs/shows? What happened to the days of 5 dollar drinks or like 3-4 beers? Now a beer at a show is $10. One beer for $10, of course a lot of folks aren’t drinking at shows anymore — the fuck?

I honestly love a cold one at a show, but at $10+, it’s a cold one and not a cold few. I really miss punk shows I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than $5 for a drink (if I ever bought a drink or if I went alone) to a punk/metal show until like 2018 onwards.

The times are a changing — venues putting themselves outta business trying to recoup the astronomical rents of landlords on event-going folks, is this a housing issue? Sounds like a housing issue? Maybe a greed issue? Who knows. Looks like venues are going to have to find a new hustle tho.

🎃 Simon's kinktober fic masterpost 🍁

Soooo... since, despite all the factors slowing me down, I plan on pushing through with doing all the prompts I thought I should make a post to keep track of everything in one place
