Base Verse What an interesting plethora of color...a beautiful headpiece, I think? Well...maybe it isn't...I do sense something ominous lurking beneath it all, I can tell that this person is no longer what they were in life. A distortion, a...revival! Yes...that would put them in a similar position to myself. How quaint. There is also a peculiar ringing coming from the items around his waist as well...something wicked. The bird doesn't seem particularly happy either--it is feasible that this man(?) could harm it. Would that mean he would also wish to harm me? I suppose I will find out in time.

I think part of the problem is because, in many writeblr and rp circles, people will only post "tell me how my writing is going!" and "give me a suggestion to improve my writing!" memes because they want... pardon... ass pats. They don't actually want concrit, and they don't actually want to improve. They're happy with where they are. They just want compliments.

Yes, I'm serious. This is a huge thing and most people who have been in those spaces will probably agree.

If you send these people even the most polite, friendly, compliment-sandwich-y bit of genuine concrit, even if they openly posted a meme requesting it, they react badly and offended, like you don't know what you're talking about. It's almost as if these people want compliments without the embarrassment of actually just asking for them, so there's a whole new kind of doublespeak surrounding it.

what’s your OTP for your muse(s)?

Stolitz, obviously. Though I am also biased by saying I will also always readily pursue what I have with Horus & Stolas [ @sxlinvictus is stuck with me forever ].

what are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

As far as tropes go, I am open to most things. I am a slut [ affectionate ] for fluff and domesticity, but angst is also my game! I love friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fake dating, etc. The options are endless!

are you selective when shipping?

I can be. If I can't personally see our muses becoming romantically [ or even just sexually ] inclined, I'll be hesitant and/or let you know it's not going to work out or that I'm not interested. It's nothing personal! I just go based on how my Stolas feels or would approach the matter. On most occasions, I am heavily chemistry based. However, there are some instances where I'd be willing to just jump right into things! Especially if I've had enough interactions with my partners both or either ic or ooc!

Also worth noting — my portrayal will not show interest in women. Sorry, ladies. He will appreciate and compliment them, but there will be zero attraction.

Who are other muses you ship your muse with?

This is a very good question! I will be honest, I never considered anything outside of Stolitz originally, excluding possibilities with Dae's muses as we discuss them. Mostly because I just wasn't sure where I stood on the matter or how Stolas would respond! But some interactions with others have me thinking. . . Broadening my horizons. . .

I would be open to exploring things with: Better Than Blitzo Guy [ why doesn't he have a fucking name?? ], Lucifer, Angel Dust, Andrealphus, Lucifer [ Netflix and probably to be an Exclusive ], Alucard/Adrian from Castlevania, and others idk I just can't think of it without like, prompting or scenarios. . .

I actively/passively ship my Stolas with Blitzo, Lestat [ @this-savage-garden ] and Walter [ @lapetitemxrt ], and Roy [ @flamesignite ]. But these are exclusive ships! I will not pair him with any other portrayal of these characters.

ooc :: My goodness I could just cry reading this! Thank you so much. It means a lot to me that you've been having so much fun, and I can't wait to write with you more! I honestly take it to heart when an rp partner feels comfortable and free when interacting with me. It's one of the main things I try to focus on in my roleplay! If my partner feels stressed, or railroaded, then I'm doing something wrong.

And thank you for the complement on my world building! Honestly, Arcane left a lot of gaps to fill, which is something I love doing. I want to represent Viktor in a realistic, but considerate way, all while taking into account what he represents to a lot of people, me included!

Ok, I'm gonna be really real with this one since it's the last one in my inbox... AND it's been bothering me for weeks...

Excessive validation/interaction seeking... is not a good look. Like I get it, you have down days you need reassurance on your portrayal or maybe some validation for an OC.... but daily talk about how no one want's to rp with you, constant negativity on the dash, begging for compliments- and I dont mean on occasion... I mean like... literally daily...

That's not a good look. Begging for interaction and complaining constantly is more likely to get you followers lost than followers interacting. A lot of people do want to write with you, but don't want to feed into the behaviors you're putting on the dash. Send asks, make starters and tag people. But if most of your posts are ooc and you make no effort to actually write with the people who reach out... or like... idk if people give you validation and you just turn around and keep begging for more? You're only making the people that stepped up for you feel like they don't matter.

Its OK to feel down, it's OK to need to seek validation every now and then- but guilt tripping your dash is not how you get MORE interaction. Its how you burn your current followers and nuke your ability to get new ones. People who are here to write, want to WRITE they don't want to baby you every day just on the off chance you'll reply. LISTEN to the people that hype you up. Bc the more people you shoot down, the less people will come back to hype you up the next time you need it.

The fact that people follow you, means they want to write, and if they want to write it means they think you're good enough. If you need validation RB a portrayal meme every other week or so, tag the positivity and save them to look at the next time youre feeling down. Filling up dashes with ooc begging posts wont get you more interaction... sorry but it wont.

I see this from a LOT of new/recent blogs as of late and it makes me cringe every time. Just relax guys. It's not that serious. Love the followers you have, write with them, let them hype you up... you'll grow as a writer and a person. I promise. Excessive attention seeking will only LOSE you interaction.

Whenever people tell me they want more people to write with I'm always like *gestures to everyone I write with* but I do have a favorite, my sister @marimelwrites and she's been hella busy IRL but she always comes back. I wouldn't be writing at all if she hadn't told me about this hellsite.

Yes, but it's been a long time since anything on this blog has done that to me, I think? It's always @hernameiswritinwater fault and I'm forever trying to convince her to come back. Anyways, fun story, back in the "olden days" when I ran a very large RP group and had annual AU weeks, I did an apocalypse week in the vein of TWD and killed off Aurélie's muse in a horrific way. It was so fun but I cried because I made other people cry 😂 I'm not a very visibly emotional person, but I don't know how to take a compliment and I was really proud of that thread... I was also very sleep deprived because AU weeks were like a marathon of writing, graphic making, death brackets... a whole thing.

NAME:        val AGE:         24 PRONOUNS:         she / they YEARS OF WRITING:          ok how specific are we talking. because i can say like circa 2010 i was on facebook writing bad twilight fanfiction + rp ( which then progressed into bad thg fanfiction ) or i can say elementary school and my little short stories i was always ad - libbing. regardless, it's definitely something i've had a knack for my whole life and it was literally just a matter of time before i found out about rp. and yes before you ask it was my personal facebook. when i was 11. that had all of my relatives added. yes they saw it. years writing on tumblr is different and i think i jumped ship and found out about tumblr rp around 2012 / 2013 and with that came my first formative decision which was to watch supernatural. you know where this is going. yes it was bad. no i'm not showing anyone.

REFLECTION

WHY DID YOU PICK UP WRITING?           i needed a hobby and had unrestricted internet access. i kind of answered this in the question before so jokes on me blah blah blah but without getting too personal i had a very difficult time in school with mental health and tumblr, known weird kid haven, was my little safe space where i could freely pursue what i enjoyed and was really my first venture into fandom spaces. i started in the supernatural rpc [ horror music ] and slowly meandered my way through book fandoms, to animanga, and finally settled on the video game community where i've been good and SAT for like six years now.

DO YOU HAVE ANY WRITING ROUTINES?          not necessarily. it's a miracle if i'm able to sit down long enough to open up my drafts and get going, but if i can lock in i'm all set. i find it hard to listen to music while writing because my brain cannot separate the two and i will accidentally start writing down the lyrics but i've never actually considered tuning into instrumentals so ,, thank you vos. writing that down............

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WRITING?         stealing from vos in stealing answer solidarity but the rp community aspect. it can be awful and exhausting as some of us know good and well but it can also be incredible depending on who you surround yourself with. it's so validating finding people who share your little niche interest or even niche - er pairing ( hi vos ) and then to just completely devolve into sending memes and posts and screaming until 2 am in dms. i've met so many of my closest friends through rp, and stealing vos' answer again, but the characters i write who turn out the most developed are those who have been shared with friends. noctis would be nowhere near as fleshed out as he is if not for the people i met in the ff fandom all those years ago.

THREE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR WRITING.         oughhghh, um. i'm bad at taking compliments and even worse at complimenting myself so bare with me.

i've definitely grown a lot in terms of style and prose, and i'm actually pretty happy with what i'm able to spit out in terms of aesthetic styling as compared to even a few years ago. one of my biggest insecurities ( that still pops up here and again mind you ) was never being able to match length, and i was in the worst writers' block for a few years that i finally managed to escape out of around 2020 and now i can confidently say i'm writing more regularly than i ever have. so to answer the question: it has been my personal growth in my writing and it turning into something i can be confident in and proud of.

i really do enjoy the mundanity of editing my replies. i love to see the progress i make edit by edit and how cohesive and put together a piece of writing becomes the longer i work on it. i fully 100% devote myself to one reply at a time, which is a nightmare for quantity but sooooooo rewarding if it means i can put something out to the best of my ability and not stress myself out worrying about whatever else i owe. i am a self appointed slowpoke, and i've learned over the years to not let myself feel guilty about that because as long as it can become something i devote time on and put effort into, then it really shouldn't bother me how long it takes.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE MOST INSPIRATION FROM? this is definitely a muse - specific question since it varies from character to character. with noctis specifically, it's mostly music. i have a few different playlists for him after writing him for so long, and while i can't listen while i write they all offer different types of mood setting for him. other times, its media involving fantasy tropes or characters that have similar struggles to him, off the top of my head ( and something i connected early on ) is the character u.enoyama r.itsuka from given. there's a lot i could say here regarding which aspects i took inspiration from but the majority was the similar personality he has to noctis, the internal thought process he offered when i read the manga, and the way he struggled with his sexuality that struck the loudest chord. don't quote me on any of that since i haven't been caught up with given for like 5 years now but !!!!! yeah the end.
