She was lost in thought when hearing the dull creak of the weapon, ears raising a bit as she looked at the sudden person on her path. Her eyes scanned the toy, reinforces a bit and the suction cups ripped off for sharpened plastic and stone. That was the disappointment for new people… Toys. That’s why her store existed.

It took a moment for her to wake up from the stupor brought by the stranger, reflective eyes blinking with their eerie low light glow before she shook it off.

“If there were monsters, you won’t be able to do much with that. Are you lost?”

He very briefly glances down at his own weapon, a flicker of a frown crossing him. Yeah, pretty pathetic, isn’t it? That’s certainly something he hated here. Quietly, he puts it back onto the holster strapped to his back before returning his gaze to her. Interestingly, he catches a bit of an eyeshine also while he turns , though it’s more like flight catching on a few tiny scattered mirrors in... perhaps not quite as round pupils... before the light vanishes. He can’t help but assume she isn’t quite human either.

An awkward laugh escapes him as he runs his fingers through his hair. “It’s definitely not a lot, is it? I’m working on making something better, but it’s a little more difficult when you’re working with scavenged scraps rather than proper good quality wood and metals.” He raises a brow, pursing his lips slightly. “I can’t say that I know where I am, but I don’t think I’d call myself lost. Not yet at least.” A weird grin. “Sometimes it’s nice to wander and see where you end up, you know? Never know what you’ll find.”

Paprika emerged from her workshop, eyes adjusting to the dimmed light slowly as she made her rounds. First, through the Dryad gardens. Next, towards the station, looping around as she passed the pixie trees and houses. Then she climbed up one of the perches for the elves, walking the coarseways before sliding down to the forest floor again. Somehow, the canopy of trees brought a peace she didn’t feel elsewhere in the city at night. Perhaps it was the distant between her and stars, perhaps she was truly one with the woods as per the wood elven blood that burned in her veins, mixed with her human half. Perhaps it was the barrier of wood and leaves that seperated herself from the potential curse in the bloodline.

Truly, he didn’t know where he was going. After so long, feeling intensely uncomfortable in the city - and worse, the coast - Guide found the sheer idea of spending some time in any forested area to be a blessing. It certainly wouldn’t feel exactly like home - different trees, different flowers, even the sky was different here - but it would be nice at the very least. Sighing to himself, he walked along a pathway before deciding that he had no need for it; immediately turning into the thicker parts of the vegetation. Probably unwise, there’s likely creatures here he’s not familiar with, but he also brought the cheap toy bow he was granted - long since modified. Extending the arms of the frame with more sturdy and flexible materials; restringing it tighter; sharpening the plastic of the arrowheads; really, it wasn’t difficult. He wasn’t sure what would be out here, if anything, but he should keep his wits about him and he wanted it just in case. Old habits die hard.

Abruptly, he hears a noise, hastily nocking an arrow. Wait. “A-ah, sorry,” he laughs embarrassedly, lowering his cheap weapon. “A kneejerk reaction, I’m used to monsters being out and about...”
