i’m planning on moving out early next year and would appreciate financial assistance with this. i’m not strictly in danger aside from my situation being bad for my mental health but i have a very difficult time saving money because of said situation and would like to at least pay off my debt before i leave. thank you for any help.

I feel like the playable companion thing in BG3 was kind of a wasteful gimmick whose writing energy could have been better spent on deepening each companion's connection with Tav/Durge and each other platonically AND romantically (less so). I love BG3 but I think it's sorely lacking that found family thing I love in RPGs.

so im not sure if anyones interested, but, i went through quite a bunch of totk critiques by people who were also very disappointed with it and thought id share my favorite videos i found (granted, i only really wachted those that youtube recommened and its mostly .. white men... things like the orientalism problem are not mentioned at all for example, maybe ill update this post if i find any more diverse voices)

i dont agree with every single point and also dont know most of the channels (aside from the big zelda theory guys) so i judged solely by what they mentioned in those videos and the quality of it (like the audio .. bc i cant listen to bad audio)

in no particular order, also they talk about or use footage of the literal ending stuff so if you arent done with the game yet, better leave these for now

(the following one is a podcast thing by multiple zelda theory guys, there some stuff you can skip at the start thats just kidna random things, but the video is marked with chapters)

(theres some mention of some things not making sense, like the sonau only being two, and ithink thats kinda bc the english translation was weirdly vague about that, in the german version its much more directly said that they all died out and only rauru and mineru were left of them;

also mentions of how unfitting it is to call the enigma stones "secret"stones in english might come from a similar thing; in german they where called "Mysterienstein" which would be translated as mystic/mysterious/enigma- stone

just wanted to mention that since the vast majority are gonna play it in english only and the stuff online is also dominated by english)

Whenever Eda happens to meet Darius he is so much colder to her than usual, and she just knows this isn't regular "Darius being Darius" but that she somehow personally slighted him and she has no idea it is because she's been slamming her front door in HIS kid's face for months now.

betterhelp is a shit service and horribly capitalizes on peoples mental health, but it somehow makes me madder when people people make ad reads for them saying that therapy "makes you happier and helps you relax :)". bitch therapy isnt you gossiping with a dude its a healing tool that its sometimes uncomfortable and thats necessary for you to confront with some issues within yourself

THAT'S BECAUSE IT WAS TWO A.M. AND I SPELLED IT WRONG (ahem) thank you for your diligence. Kano JURGEN, WITH A J, is the protagonist of the webcomic Kagerou, which heads up I'm about to spoil some of the fun of reading to sell you on it. Kano is a psychic who among other things can see dead people and relive their memories who also has a diverse cornucopia of neurodivergence and trauma and CANNOT tell these things apart from each other. Because he cannot control the medium shit whatsoever when canon starts, his brain has just been a vacuum for traumatized ghosts. They just get shlooped into his mindscape and set themselves up there. He's also a system (part of a system? phrasing struggles) who initially appears to have the "one of the personalities is a serial killer!" trope happening but surprise that is ALSO a ghost who stole Kano's face and figured out how to possess the body after Kano happened to see him die (cue spectral brain vacuum noise) and everybody else in the comparatively normal system fucking hates him. The ghosts of that guy's victims from life are also hanging out and also fucking hate him.

After a lifetime of struggling over whether to be reasonable and accept that he's hallucinating enormous amounts of his life experiences or maintain that his brain isn't that creative, Kano's just-barely-holding-shit-together coping mechanisms are all thrown out of whack when his ass gets isekaied into a fantasy world, handed a magic sword, and informed that a captured princess summoned him to be a goddess's chosen one and save the world. I'm sure you won't be surprised at this point that this premise is ALSO intensely reconstructive in various layers of ways I don't have time to get into.

Based on this description what year do you think the author came up with and started working on it? WRONG: mid 90's.

I do love that BLs are starting to give us more GL side couples, I do. But it is kind of disappointing when most of the time, those relationships are established before the start of the show. The whole reason i watch romances is to see people fall in love. So the GL couples in, say, SCOY, Wedding Plan, and Only Friends fall much flatter to me than InkPa’s 8-second romance, simply because we don’t get to see them fall in love, we’re just told they are in love. The affection and cute moments are cute, sure, but the payoff means nothing without the buildup to make it worth it, at least for me. Other BL side couples have getting-together arcs! Why are the GL couples not worth investing narrative time into?

i think the witcher books (and the stories to saga transition) are good and fine to be adapted into audiovisual media (e.g., tv/movie), but only if the audience (meaning, an audience previously unfamiliar with the IP) is actually there for what it’s about. and can be encouraged to keep an open mind for what it will be.

because it seems many people get into it from the premise of “mutated monster killer kills monsters” (even though, if you read the short stories closely, they’re not about that at all, that’s only the literal aspect of them, and some aren’t even about monsters at all??). and then become disappointed that geralt isn’t just slaying beasts left and right for five novels (or seasons?) straight

if you want to have an audience that’s there for what the series is, then… just… tell them what they’re sitting down for!

to potential readers and viewers of such an adaptation, it just needs to be better communicated right off the bat what the story is about. and no one can do that except the already existing fans who have read and like the story and know what parts they love the most.

stop selling it on the basis of ‘ooo dark fantasy where people swear sometimes’ and actually look at what it is about (also, beyond that it is fantasy) and you’ll have your answer.
