In "The Equalizer 5: Diamonds in the Sky, opening pandora's box " Robert McCall faces new threats after avenging Susan Plummer's death in the previous installment. Following a series of coordinated explosions targeting McCall and those close to him, Brian Plummer dies, but Emma Collins survives, though in a coma. McCall infiltrates the CIA to investigate a mysterious operation named "Diamonds in the Sky." He discovers that accessing the operation's files requires special keys held by high-ranking officials codenamed Eagles. After a series of intense confrontations, McCall secures the keys and uncovers a video revealing a personal connection to the operation. The shocking twist comes when Brian Plummer, who faked his death, is revealed as the mastermind behind the plot, motivated by vengeance against McCall for killing his brother. The climax features a high-stakes battle, with McCall and a recovered Emma Collins taking on Brian and his elite team. Despite Brian's elaborate plans, McCall emerges victorious, but not without the ominous warning that his victory may have unleashed more dangers. The film ends with McCall determined to continue his fight against the dark forces behind "PANDORA'S BOX".

forever obsessed with dynamics between vampires, specifically that of a maker and fledgling, as a way to explore abuse. the creation of a vampire itself can so easily be a literalization of the lasting impacts of trauma and also much more simply the ways a perpetrator might shape their victim’s very identity. the extremes of isolation in the way that the new vampire, in most narratives, must cut all ties to their mortal life, or else go through an elaborate charade to maintain the facade of humanity, while forever still being removed from it. and the sheer dependence and vulnerability of being in an entirely new state of being, wholly uncertain of what it entails, and relying on another person to define… everything.

something interesting i realized while on the vessel-making screen in the deltarune introduction is that it's physically impossible to make kris: there is no hair that perfectly matches theirs (none have the cowlick or the right jagged shape on the bottom), and there is no sweater that perfectly matches theirs (none have a single stripe). this is fascinating, as it perhaps suggest that, if we (the player) had a choice, we *wouldn't* make kris. they aren't something we want, or are even capable of wanting, rather something we're stuck with.

and i suppose the fact that they can't be *created* as a vessel is telling, because we didn't create kris -- they weren't made for us, they're not a player avatar. they're a pre-existing person we just happen to gain possession of.

we weren't made for each other; they don't want us, and we don't seem to want them either (if the inability to choose to create someone like them says anything); funny, then, that in a way we're "soulmates"...

I am fascinated by the media presence aspect of Midst. That panopticon element shaping what the Consectors are doing, saying, *thinking* (because how could being on a stage every second not shape how you think about what you're doing?), and how it is getting relayed by the reporters. They're trying to rescue a child and they're told to wait for the media and everyone sees this as normal and expected. The feedback Jonas gives Phineas is about performing better for the cameras. There is disapproval of swearing due to censor requirements. The success of the mission is partly (mostly?) about whether it was compelling teletherically. It is nine kinds of fucked up and I am SO here for it

Elsa Omar is Silva's younger sister, they both managed to escape to America together along with an infant Persephone, where Elsa would have quite the reputation in Hope County, but they'd have around two or three years of peace before Elsa perishes in an accident. Ezekiel is Thomas Rush's future Captain in Security in Old Dusk, and has a rebel attitude towards authority he does not respect. However, back on the Archipiélagos, Elsa was the damsel-in-relative-distress lying and manipulating her piece of shit father as she shared info with the local rebellion about the Congregation's patrols and whatnot, while Ezekiel was an orphaned Tumultite street kid who looked up to the likes of Alvarich and Paul, despite being very anti-authoritarian in general. When these two first met... they hated each other. But hate turned to grudging respect. Respect turned to horrified crushing. Crush turned into deflecting by flirting. And that annoyed everyone else. Even 26 years after he last saw her alive, Ezekiel still yearns for his star-crossed love. And I think this song definitely describes how much their connection may as well have been fated, even if it was for a short time.

Cecil Royce is the daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Rhea Royce, conceived after a drunk night of hate sex. Cecil, unlike her cousins, does not hold any admiration towards her father. Throughout The Thorned Crown Of Iron Thrones, Cecil is particularly hostile towards Daemon, and pretty much rejects the Targaryen name and practices in favour of her mother's. Though after the "accidental" death of her mother, she is put underneath Daemon's care... and he honestly tries his best. Through many trials, and many errors, as well as very slow-paced bonding experiences and the apparent mutual agreement that Rhaenyra should be heir to the Iron Throne, they manage to get along, and find in themselves an actual father-daughter bond suited for two rogue Targaryens. Until of course Cecil learns from him that he murdered her mother... and unlike Daemon, Cecil actually loved and looked up to Rhea. A bond fractures and there's just this uneasiness between them that stays long after the first fic ends and the second fic begins. How does "Summertime Sadness" fit into all of this? While the song itself is a yearning for the loss of a lover, here the context is Cecil's conflicted grief and yearning after the loss of Daemon, when he buys her time to fight the Court King, where he is knowingly severely outmatched and slain in the encounter. Despite the fractures in their relationship, Cecil can't really get over the fact that, while Daemon was no where close to perfect, he was her father, and the bond they had combined with the sacrifice he made is something can't help but grieve over.

Look, if you wanted to make a show about Vampire Adam Lambert and his sidekicks, just open with that.

Don't spend 2 seasons giving us fucking brilliant, mesmerising character work by genuis actors like Jacob, Assad and Delainey, and then show how much you want to single out your one real star, by giving the white lead the only solo promo you've ever given anyone.

tbh i think my biggest takeaway from this season of dw is that ncuti is a wildly brilliant performer and casting choice for the doctor and while i don't think this season is bad i am also desperate for him to get material that lives up to what he's bringing to the table

i dont know what i expected but the fact that we’re getting the typical two american/english voice options is so disappointing given that rook can be from places where that is not the standard accent. i understand the limitations of hiring voice actors for every lineage/background but it’ll take me right out of the game when my rook from antiva or nevarra sounds like a bbc anchor.
