Re: Nic’s song posts on IG
I share so many of your thoughts on the timeline, the emotional shifts, the body language, and the perceptions they all left us with. To add to all of what we saw, to me Nic’s habit of posting songs to her IG stories on what appeared to be travel days right before seeing Luke again was like Easter eggs into her frame of mind.
I’d love to read your thoughts on how those song choices fit into the timeline. Especially telling to me was her posting Your Face by The Frames on June 10 right before they were back in London for the last two days of promo before the premiere. The chorus of that song is “I’m Gonna Wait For You”. To me that fits in with the narrative that Luke needed to figure out the whole Antonia of it all and Nic had communicated to him that she was going to wait for him to figure it out. Couple that with their red carpet interview in London, where Nick gives the dating advice to “don’t compromise yourself, wait for the right person because you’re worth it”. Luke’s reaction and answer and body language in response screamed at me. Do you agree? Would love to read your thoughts.
Ohhhh yes a lot of people have been asking me to do an analysis of the songs (I just LOVE N- she's such a MySpace millennial after my own heart lol). I don't think I can do all the songs, but can someone DM me what song she posted for Brazil and Toronto (and if it was before or after the stop)? I'll try to do an analysis of the songs from Brazil to Ireland!
And short answer is yes, I think N is focusing on herself rn and waiting for L to get his s**t together, but I am pretty confident that L/N are on the same page about wanting to pursue something with each other in the near future once L is able to figure everything out with A. And his reaction to that comment of hers on the red carpet MIGHT have had something to do with this. However, I think the vibes were weird for a LOT of reasons at the London red carpet (which I will get into on my longer post about the London premiere).
