I FARTED AND I HAD TO RUN AWAY FROM THE SMELL #50LAM_SILLYSONGS
youtube
"I Farted and I Had to Run Away from the Smell" is a humorous and lighthearted song that captures a universally embarrassing but relatable moment: passing gas in an awkward situation. The song uses playful lyrics and comedic timing to narrate the singer's frantic attempts to escape the aftermath of their own foul-smelling flatulence. As the stench becomes unbearable, the protagonist runs away from the scene, humorously describing how everyone else reacts to the situation. The song taps into slapstick comedy, with exaggerated descriptions of the odor’s intensity and the ridiculous lengths taken to avoid it. It's a blend of silly, fun, and relatable content, making it perfect for anyone looking to laugh about life’s more awkward moments. This song is lighthearted, filled with exaggerated imagery, catchy tunes, and is sure to evoke laughter through its playful, witty nature.

Rite Here Rite Now thoughts and reactions (spoilers below)
The performance:
-> Twenties live?? The dancers? loved them! I waited to hear Twenties Live like crazy! I do wish we could hear Swiss louder with the whispers...
-> I need that acoustic rendition of If You hHave Ghosts... the ghoulettes were amazing
-> I refuse to believe that Tutti Frutti nailed that one jump towards the end of the performance, what the heck?!
-> The searchlights in the Watcher in the Sky!
-> the use of lights to accentuate Satan's names! YES! It felt so right, it felt so cool, I loved that! Satanic imagery whenever his name was mentioned? YESSS They play fewer and fewer songs from the early albums so I wish they make some new songs that just go LU-CI-FEEER
-> The ghouls looked so good! But there was so little of Swiss :( I wanted to see him go crazy and move those hips. I caught a glimpse of him once or twice but I believe they never focused on him for long enough to let him shine. It's a pity because I love watching him!
-> I thought there would be a long scene of us getting ciriced but it was just a few moments? still cool, just a bit short
-> People are saying that the skeletons were actually people with body paint, and I fully believed that it was a body suit :0 I noticed their breasts looked good but??? how did I miss this (I do have an eyesight problem but I thought it wasn't that bad haha)
The rest:
-> the sass between Nihil and Seestor was so good? Loved seeing their interactions
-> They EMBRACED the 'Scooby Doom', the 'Scooby Doo Chase Music' allegations, the MOAC animation was surreal as heck. Tobias saw our jokes and said 'hold my communion wine and watch this'
-> We got an exclusive footage of a Papa Sock, do not confuse with the DeFroque Soq. We saw the Obscene Annointed Foot.
-> Papa literally dissociates backstage :')
-> The twins? Seestor having twins?? There were two kiddos frollicking on a field loool and I always thought that Copia felt like he had a sibling or a twin but I thought it was just a crack theory!
-> I want Ashley's job
-> The twins played by Toblerone's kids are dead apparently and I doubt it will ever be explained xD
-> There was only one fart joke and I anticipated like 3 at least
->I remember seeing this meme
and let me tell you it's 100% true he does not, it's just for comedic effect and I love it, people got high fives from him and I was so jealous
-> the balloon part was so confusing and funny and the way he was actually faceplanted on the floor the whole time broke me
-> I made a joke about how maybe they'll get rid of Seestor due to all the issues they had with her actresses but there she is, transparent and glowing. they can't explain further changes with plastic surgery anymore lol
-> Copia in a position of actual power? HUH
-> He has his Cardinal makeup back!! We went to the movie wearing this exact pattern and we were so happy to see it on screen <3 And his whole new outfit is lit, I am forever in love with his Cardinal Era clothes so this one was a Treat
-> Copia was babied so much in this movie and it was just what I needed for my soul, do not @ me
-> The pentagram below Nihil and Seestor gives me hope for a certain theory the fandom likes a lot?? why was it there
-> New song good!!!
-> also, Nihil's speech seems to be a homage to all the dead performers we know and love, especially the ones Tobias looks up to and gets inspiration from and I could feel his sadness in that speech, ok. I think he wishes to be able to entertain people after his own death just like them, he wants people to play Ghost in 50 years when he's most likely dead and feel their taints tickled. I am tearing up. Life is scary and sad but I have ghosts, right?
Overall it was a very sweet and gentle way to ease the fandom into the next stage and a new Papa, which we have been opposing vehemently for the past year or so. Tobias is a softie and knows his fandom better than I expected, tbh.

Todays rip: 15/05/2024
Mallstep‼️
Season 8 No Album Release (Read More)
Ripped by BluLuigi7
youtube
Can I just say: I am SO happy to see that Jay Eazy posting is still going so strong past January 7th? Like, we pretty firmly established back with Hella Pummel that venula is the champion of Jay Eazy posting, but we've had tons of other talented rippers take their own crack at it - there's circunflexo back with You Are Book Smart, of course, but also the focus of today's rip - BluLuigi7. After making the first-ever Jay Eazy Raft Ride with She Gon Make Me Ride On Her Raft Like I'm Link‼️, he's finally ready for the main stage with perhaps one of my favorite Jay Eazy rips to date - or, if nothing else, one of the most creative ones.
See, a lot of people still only really know Jay Eazy as the funny Mega Man rapper, and fair enough - it is a very funny video, and a lot of his music sounds rather...homogeneous, for lack of a better word. But there is a silver lining to his songs sounding so similar, in that rips like Mallstep‼️ are able to leverage different ones at the same time without it clashing. Indeed, Mega Man is only one part of the rip, the part that introduces the rip with the iconic "Yo bro, why are you doing that??" - but after the most iconic bars of said song drop, it changes seamlessly to using Respect Your Elders without missing a beat. And honestly, that's absolutely the right call for a song like Pigstep, I think Respect Your Elder's flow fits the track far better - but I love that Mega Man still gets incorporated AT THE SAME TIME as the former song, with it being used as a backing layer to the whole thing.
It's just a very clever rip all around, tons of small touches you'd otherwise find unneeded but just make the rip funnier in the long run - small uses of sound effects call to mind rips like Locked In The Underground except here done explicitly for comedic purposes, playing a sudden Nutshack sample when Jay Eazy says "nuts" or a reverb fart SFX far in the distance when the lyrics mention "shittin' on 'em". It's primarily a mashup at first, but with tons of these small additions throughout, little edits to how Respect Your Elders flows through Pigstep's ebb-and-flow lead melody, all of course culminating in a fully pitch shifted section at the rip's melody. The Jamminest Of All is a recent example of it, but these kinds of surprise pitch-shifting rips are always a favorite - it can be overbearing at times if done for an entire rip, yet it adds just enough variety when used as spice to an already fantastic rip like it is here.
The point is - a rip like Mallstep‼️ is at once very funny through its concept alone, but elevated even more through how prominently BluLuigi7's own character shines through it. It feels like a flex in the best ways possible, a big grab-bag of additional notes onto an already super-solid rip. The star of the show, fittingly enough, is the short little nod to Starboy near the rips end, which was the joke in one of the first-ever Pigstep rips on the channel in I'm a motherh*cking Starpig, a rip that's evidently still remembered fondly even four years later. I received a comment a while back noting that nobody loves SiIvaGunner as much as the team itself, and it's the stuff like what Mallstep‼️ pulls that keeps reminding me of that: the rips made by people like BluLuigi7 who just love having fun with their ideas althewhile paying small tributes to past rips on the channel. Hugely popular rips like Stickerbrush Queen are far from the only ones to get references like this, and it always makes me so happy to see, to be reminded that each individual ripper has their internal web of rips that means more to them than I've ever considere that they could.
Back to the rip as a whole, though - it just kind of bangs in that very particular Jay Eazy way. For as stupid as his music may be to some, it's difficult not to love with everything that the meme of his music has wrought. So much passion from the side of the internet that just loves to have fun spawned purely from a guy promoting his music in a bizarre way on TikTok, and Mallstep‼️ is just one of many examples - a rip that has fun with its concept, fun with the very channel its on, but most crucially of all exudes the fun energy of its very ripper in spades. To say that I'm happy that Jay Eazy is a reoccurring gag on the channel would be a grave understatement: I'm looking forward to just how many fun ways his music will be reinterpreted with next with far too much excitement, and thus far SiIvaGunner has not yet failed to deliver in regards to fresh ways to go about it.

Voiceplay Visuals: Get Back Up Again
It took me a while to watch this one for the first time (which I did like a month or two ago), can't exactly explain why, though it did probably have something to do with the fact that I've never seen Trolls. Sure, I've seen a couple of scenes from it, and I know the characters and the basic plot, but I've just never actually sat down to watch it! And the only original song I knew from the movie was Can't Stop The Feeling (because it'd be basically impossible to not have heard it by this point). This song is really good though (originally written by Pasek & Paul apparently, which explains a lot), and Voiceplay's video for it (released in May 2018) is very fun as well, so let's get into it!
Some person called "Leo" is credited for the intro animation, so shoutout to Leo! The little character designs are so cute, and I will get to each one individually.
The up-and-down hand movements that J is doing at the start of the video, they intrigue me and I swear he (or possibly another VP member) has done very similiar hand motions in a different video. Does stuff like that just come with being an acapella singer or something?
Earl is Poppy, the main character of the movie! He looks good in pink honestly
Eli is Branch, the secondary protagonist (I guess?) of the movie
J None is Guy Diamond (a troll covered in silver glitter) and he's styling!
Geoff is Biggie, one of the biggest troll characters in the movie, who has a pet worm/best friend called Mr Dinkles (yes, that is what Geoff is holding)
And Layne is Smidge, who apparently (I looked it up on the Trolls Wiki) is one of the shortest trolls in the movie (ironic considering Layne is the tallest of the group), and is female, but speaks with a deep, masculine-sounding voice (trust Layne to give himself a comedic casting choice 😂 (this was his arrangement, and he and Geoff collaborated on the video))
1, Earl seems Confused by Layne's percussion-making method. 2, those chairs look really soft and comfy. And 3, great face Geoff 😆
Obligatory acknowledgement of J 'farting' glitter. I'm guessing it's a thing that Guy Diamond does in the movie
Okay so Geoff's hair does seem basically the same as it does in the 80s Cartoon Themes video (I was wondering), it might just be styled ever-so-slightly differently or something (also I really love his smiles in this video <3 )
Did J already own that necklace or was it bought just for this video?
Eli is Confused and Tired 😂
I don't think this is just a lowering of the lighting in this shot here, I think it's also got lower saturation levels I believe? (Possibly a post-production effect).
(Also Geoff being pretty without even trying (again))
"cause I know that I'm really really really gonna be OKAY!"
And then Eli, J, and Geoff's reactions 😆
Shoutout to Kathy (Geoff's wife) for doing the puppeteering in this video!
Geoff seems to be having fun anyway!
Love the subtle camera shake on the "if you knock knock me over, knock knock me over" line, in time with the knocking!
"Hug time!" "Hug time! I love hug time! Hug time's my favourite.
Also shout to the end card with the guys playing with the dolls/puppets, and "thank you to the Patrons for supporting this...craft project" 😂
This video is definitely a serotonin booster, both visually and musically!

Road Trip — VoicePlay music video
youtube
The life of touring musicians can be stressful. Like anyone else in the midst of a long drive in a cramped vehicle, they can get on each other's nerves and argue over what music to play. With this dramatic comedic reenactment, VoicePlay gives their audience a peek inside the tour van. After years of performing this medley / theatrical sketch, they finally got a chance to record a professional video in a live setting during the 2014 Sing-Off tour.
Details:
title: Road Trip
original songs / performers: [1:30] "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" by Tiny Tim; [1:50] "Orinoco Flow" by Enya; [2:05] "Cum On Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot; [3:12] "Big Shot" by Billy Joel; [3:24] "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister; [3:33] "Voices Carry" by ’Til Tuesday; [3:50] "Shout" by Tears For Fears; [4:06] "Why Can't We Be Friends?" by War; [4:15] "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd; [5:10] "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago; [6:34] "We Just Disagree" by Dave Mason; [6:54] "Royals" by Lorde
written by: "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" by Al Dubin & Joe Burke; "Orinoco Flow" by Eithne "Enya" Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin & Roma Ryan; "Cum On Feel the Noize" by Noddy Holder & Jim Lea; "Big Shot" by Billy Joel; "I Wanna Rock" by Dee Snider; "Voices Carry" by Robert Holmes, Aimee Mann, Michael Hausman, & Joey Pesce; "Shout" by Roland Orzabal & Ian Stanley; "Why Can't We Be Friends?" by Papa Dee Allen, Harold Ray Brown, B.B. Dickerson, Lonnie Jordan, Charles Miller, Lee Oskar, Howard E. Scott, & Jerry Goldstein; "That Smell" by Allen Collins & Ronnie Van Zant; "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by Peter Cetera & David Foster; "Royals" by Ella "Lorde" Yelich-O'Connor & Joel Little
arranged by: Geoff Castellucci
release date: 22 May 2014
My favorite bits:
Layne's deliberately-obnoxious-sibling energy when he re-locks the door the second time.
five grown men making vroom-vroom noises and other sound effects as part of their job
Tony singing ♫ "Why? Why? Why?" ♫ in annoyance instead of ♫ "wild, wild, wild" ♫, and his smug smile at cutting off Eli's accompaniment
Eli excitedly throwing the horns only to be met with Tony's completely unenthusiastic "rawk". 😒
Geoff's growl note as Eli's "shout"ing wakes him up
Eli watch the rooOAAAD!!!
professional singers using their talents to set up and deliver an elaborate fart joke (I am completely serious. It's magnificent.)
Earl's adorable muppet snoring 💤 , and his bashful expression as he apologizes
Tony wiping the pretend aerosol spray off his face (whatever it may be… air freshener? hairspray? breath freshener? floor wax? dessert topping?)
the pitch pipe / seat belt alarm gag — such a clever way to reset after the evacuation interlude
and, of course, Layne's incredible solo
Trivia:
Layne sometimes changes the song he busts out at the end in an attempt to make the other guys laugh and break character. I've found audience recordings where he goes with "Baby" by Justin Bieber, "Hello" by Adele, and "Let It Go" from Frozen.
VoicePlay have been performing and refining this medley / skit since their 4:2:Five days. The earliest full version I've found is from 2010, with Ryan and Danny in the front seats, but an even earlier clip appeared in their 2009 promo video.
They did make an in-studio version with a real car in 2013. It's currently only available through their Patreon.

Midnight Gaming: Untitled Zombie Game
So I played Stubbs the Zombie past midnight, checked socials to find.... not much to talk about that isnt just bad news... so lets skip the news for the day.
Its a lovely day in Punchbowl and you are a horrible zombie
So Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse was a game released in 2005 for og xbox and pc, got average reviews and has been remastered and released by aspyr media for modern platforms. I enjoyed this game on the old pc version mainly cause it was game where you played as a zombie eating the brains of the living and growing your own horde. So seeing it get a remaster and available to folks nowadays is very nice to see.
So yeah, you mostly eat brains and make it through levels which are mostly linear with some open sections but for the most part you are more or less being directed foward. And of course as you eat brains, former humans become zombie allies that can assist in some ways, you can have them go forward and soak up bullets as you follow behind letting you close the distance and they can distract enemies while you flank and get them from behind for a backbite. You can also whistle at zombies you're looking at to get them to head towards you like some sort of grim version of pikmin. It certainly looks like it when I see my zombros swarm someone.
A lot of the voicework in this game is also just great, given its trying to go for a comedic vibe it does help with the dark theme of devouring people. Hearing folks panic and exclaim "eating brains is way not cool daddy-o" or "dont eat me no no noooo" does gets a dark chuckle from me. It might be why the game takes place in a retro future city in the 50s just for the sake of the comedy. You have barbershop singers on jetpacks using rayguns while singing about killing the zombies. How the hell did this get average reviews???
Of course since you're a zombie yourself, you dont have access to guns or weapons but you do have some abilties to help you out. For one being your ability to regenerate health which also doubles as a narrative reason for how your abilties work. Your gut grenade is your best ability having a max of 3 charges and lets you throw a major organ at enemies that can stick onto them and can be detonated at your command. Your very own hand can be thrown and controlled, giving you an opportunity to possess nearby humans. Grab someone with a gun and you can start shooting at their former allies and help clear out several threats. Since your hand ability is the easiest to recharge, it can be a pretty effective ability especially on the insane difficulty. Your head can be used like a bowling ball and rolled towards groups which can damage and infect enemies it rolls into and of course it explodes too. And finally, you can fart which is generally useful to stun groups of nearby enemies opening them up to be feasted on.
A lot of the strong points of this game is leading a horde of zombies, dealing with enemies you come across and taking out priority targets that can be a hassle to your undead buddies. Thing is there are some issues with the game mainly due to its length. A normal run for me lasted 4 hours according to my steam playtime so it ends up feeling a bit short. Sometimes when you end up stunning an enemy and go for a brain dinner, you end up tearing their arm off to use as a weapon because whoops you were beside them and got a different prompt, which can be useful at damaging but eating brains is how you're able to recharge your abilties so this gets kinda annoying at times. Also that simon says boss battle at the police station.... went on for too long and it sucks.
Speaking of that boss battle, the game uses some newer versions of old 50's songs such as earth angel, mr sandman and lollipop. Im gonna leave a link to that so you can go hear it if you want.
Honestly, i dont see much games that let you play as a zombie and cause havoc. Theres games where you create or control a horde of zombies like infectionator, games that are versus zombie players that you end up joining when you die like zombie panic or games that just has you play an undead character but not causing an apocalypse like medievil or sonny. Theres gotta be some other game where you play as a zombie leading an outbreak on humanity like a reverse dead rising. I feel like a lot of Stubbs is a game that has only scratched the surface of what it was trying to present and it be great to see more of that explored and built upon in a sequel, in a literal or spiritual sense.
So thanks for reading todays midnight gaming. Feel free to leave feedback and game suggestions. See you all tomorrow.

Ok i take it back. It Was Fine. Coming from 1 into 2 the tone is completely different and I don't know if I like that. They made all the men like 1000× stupider? Idk i think you can have feminist media which doesn't have to slag off men in return. Idk a lot of the jokes felt. Cheap and bad. But some of them were very good. Babs u were so hit or miss
Fowler... sir i am so sorry for what they did to you, but also im glad you did actually get a moment. Like sure he was an old fart always talking about his past but he wasn't... senile. Which he now seems to be, because we need a comedic relief character. But also that's Babs. And also that's Rocky. And also that's Nick and Fetcher.
Mixed feelings about Mrs Tweedy being brought back, though the way she has expanded felt like it made sense for her. Laughing a little that she kept the 'Tweedy' name despite the fact that i thoight she hated Mr Tweedy. Tho she finally got a first name! But also like. I thought she died at the end kf the first movie i won't lie. But like. She may be dead now! (Though mind u, it didn't kill Rocky). ...and she's... yassified? Girlboss? Tho she was going on about the Modern Age so i assume she was trying to present herself as A Modern Woman.
Dr Fry was kind of fun. I like his energy compared to Mr Tweedy. He loves his evil wife so much.
I have mixed feelings about the use of pop songs in the soundtrack bc it's not smth that happened in the first Chicken Run, but i can't say Aardman never did it before bc. Flushed Away. Iconic movie and i love its pop song soundtrack. And the summer holiday sequence is sooo good.
The score is good but to my ear it's mostly recycled from the first movie anyway. But it was impactful to hear the themes return. But i love Harry Gregson Williams anyway so <3 <3
I liked the way the family came together but i think that core miscommunication was never addressed. I also think it's kind of iconic that both Ginger and Mrs Tweedy have trauma flashbacks about each other. Girlboss on girlboss violence.
The 2nd half of the film felt way more authentically Chicken Run than the 1st did. Tho i like how it payed off all its setup. I like the popcorn bit as a payoff for both Molly and Rocky.
Idk. It was Okay. Fine. Good, even at times. No one asked for my thoughts but I'm putting them down anyway.
Im four minutes into chicken run 2 and like okay fine but why did they have to do my guy fowler dirty like this
Im going to assume it gets worse
#chicken run#chicken run 2#chicken run 2 spoilers#???#dj rambles#i could make more concise thoughts but i'd have to watch it again

Why don't POV characters fart? We have seen them shitting and peeing but farting is never mentioned wrt POV characters. George says that he doesn't cringe away from including sex because it's something real people do and that it's nothing to be ashamed of and should be portrayed in media. Why cant be the same hold true for farting. Everyone does it and what about our favourite characters. What are your thoughts on this complicated topic? Is fart erasure a problem we need to tackle in media? Please give us your precious opinions on this topic.
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm about the value of my opinions?
I see this is the price I must pay for my hubris.
Before I can answer your question about why POV characters don’t fart, we should mention when characters do fart to see if there’s any common theme that could give us a clue as to why certain others don’t:
Fortunately, asearchoficeandfire.com has given us 16 instances of the word “fart” and its variations used in the series from 1996-2011. I’ve come up with two relevant observations:
Some characters are noted to be particularly flatulent: Septon Sefton and Wendell Webber (The Sworn Sword) and Garth Tyrell (A Feast for Crows). We only see this in action in the Septon’s case, where Lucas Inchfield threatens Dunk with death, the septon asks he plea for mercy, and the tension is broken by his farting (more on how farting is synonymous with a particular tone in the second point). Wendell Webber’s constant farting is meant to make him look uglier and less worthy of being Lord of Coldmoat; he’s “grasping and stupid” “a short man with a goiter on his neck”, but also nonthreatening (if he wasn’t male and married to Lord Rowan’s sister, he wouldn’t be a threat to Rohanne’s claim at all). Garth Tyrell’s flatulence is brought up by his goodsister Olenna as a dig at Cersei (it’s compared to how badly Tywin smells at his funeral), and as to why he wouldn’t be a good Master of Coin. Then there’s Baelor Hightower, whose infamous fart led to Oberyn Martell dubbing him “Baelor Breakwind”, causing his sister Elia (previously halfway in love with him) to be unable to look at him without laughing. We can infer that farting/tendency toward flatulence is GRRM’s signifier that a man (and it’s always a man; no woman, no matter how disgusting GRRM wants to depict her, ever farts) is older, smelly, not exactly competent, unhandsome…in a phrase, “gross and undesirable, but in a comical way”.
Farting is used 5 times in the phrase “to care a mummer’s fart”, aka to care very little (in English, similar to not giving a shit, a rat’s ass, a fig, an iota, a sou, etc). Words are wind, and farting is breaking wind. But why are mummer’s farts singled out as particularly worthless? The answer may be in Sansa’s 4th ASOS chapter: “Musicians strolled among the tables, piping and fluting and fiddling, while Ser Dontos galloped about on his broomstick horse and Moon Boy made farting sounds with his cheeks and sang rude songs about the guests.” Yes, Moon Boy is a fool rather than a mummer, but I think the point is the same. This is the only time anyone purposely breaks wind (or mimics the sound) and it’s for entertainment. But there’s nothing particularly clever about making fart sounds; the most it achieves is some cheap laughter and disgust. It’s the quickest, easiest way of entertaining a few people, and that’s why it’s particularly empty when coming from someone whose job is entertainment.
I think from these mentions we can come up with a theory as to why POV characters don’t fart. Farting marks the man who does it as unintelligent, unhygienic, less than competent, cowardly, and ugly. GRRM wants most of his POV characters to not be seen this way (as for the female POVs, it’s probably because he sexualizes them and fortunately doesn’t find farting attractive); some of the characters where he does (Chett and Merrett Frey), he has piss themselves out of fear. GRRM also uses farting to set a lowbrow comedic tone and break tension, which is only appropriate under certain circumstances. He does take many opportunities to make shit jokes (istumpysk theorizes this is because he is secretly 10. I had thought that due to his breast fixation he was at least 14, but by his own admission he isn’t great at making characters act their age), but usually they are more subtle (Dany’s trip through the House of the Undying, the bird guano on the statues of Baelor/Titan/Daeron I/dragonstone wyverns. The endless jokes about Tywin’s corpse are less so) and have a deeper point (usually that the person/idea they represent is full of shit), but fart jokes are less subtle and varied.
Which brings me to your last question: “Is fart erasure a problem that needs to be tackled in media?” Farting is actually a staple of Toilet Humor, a branch of Gross Out Humor. You’d be hard-pressed to find a stoner/gross-out/sex comedy film that doesn’t have at least one fart joke; it’s not uncommon in kid’s animated films/TV either (though the smarter films put a spin on it, such as Finding Nemo and the scene with the pelicans). Many of these comedies are deemed unfunny, mindless entertainment because it often doesn’t take clever writing to come up with most of these jokes. But that’s also getting into why farting doesn’t happen often in ASOIAF; it’s a staple of lowbrow comedy, not “serious” drama that ASOIAF (especially the later books) desperately wants to be. I suppose GRRM isn’t breaking the mold with his depiction of farting, but he’s less subversive than many people claim he is.
Note: to any users whose messages are gathering digital dust in my inbox and have just had the misfortune of reading this meta, I hope this at least gives you assurance that I will eventually write you a thorough reply. Just as long as I can think of something interesting to say. And maybe make a few terrible jokes.

Teen Titans Go is not as bad as you once thought, compared to Teen Titans
As 18–24-year-olds, we’ve grown up with excellent shows from the cable network Cartoon Network. One of those shows is none other than Teen Titans. The show, released in 2003, follows teenage superheroes Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Cyborg as they protect Jump City from many villains. Each episode highlights specific missions and overarching situations, whether the situation is complicated or funny. Not only was the show entertaining as hell, but it also incorporated various lessons to be taken from different episodes. Some have highlighted issues like racism, identity issues, mental health and emphasized being oneself. In short, Teen Titans was a cartoon masterpiece.
After five seasons, teen Titans was canceled in 2005, leaving the audience at a cliff-hanger (boo). In my opinion, this is arguably the saddest moment of Cartoon Network history. It is even said that the writers planned for a season six; however, the network noticed that girls were also interested in the show. Unfortunately, they didn’t know how to market to little girls, so they ultimately canceled the show. Later, they released a reboot of the show called Teen Titans Go. It still follows the teenage heroes through various adventures; however, they mainly focus on comedy rather than serious situations. It has received backlash from the original Teen Titans fans, calling the show a childish rip-off. However, after many dull days after school, I must say that Teen Titans Go is not as bad as everyone thought.
While Teen Titans episodes were severe and chronological, Teen Titans Go episodes are short, goofy, and straight to the point. No plot twists, no drama, just farts, and jokes. While Teen Titans were exciting to watch, the new show relieved me after school, an excellent way to unwind and laugh after a long day of learning. It was also the perfect show to watch on a Saturday morning while eating cereal in our pajamas. In an interview, the show's voice actors shared that they enjoyed producing Teen Titans Go rather than its predecessor. They didn't have to memorize storylines from the previous episodes to preserve chronological order. They also enjoyed recording jokes rather than being serious; like all of us, sometimes laughter is better than action.
As with Teen Titans, the writers incorporated life lessons into the new show. Well, sort of. Teen Titans Go featured episodes where each character retells a story regarding history, mythology, or folklore. They also included lessons from Robin, who would teach about taxes, how to buy a home, how to buy a car, and everything stereotypical of American bureaucracy. He even lectured the team on various careers in America and made everyone participate in a career day. While Robin’s lectures were somewhat accurate and knowledgeable, the rest of the group encouraged breaking the status quo their leader was preaching. Rather than succumbing to the blah of their chosen careers, they incorporated their own passions and were still successful. We can all agree that while it wasn’t a dramatic and action-packed episode with an impactful lesson, Teen Titans Go delivered its lesson less harshly than the original show and did so with comedy.
Speaking of comedy, Teen Titans Go has been one to explore new comedic styles to appeal to both child and adult audiences. Their comedic songs have reached millions of views on YouTube, particularly Beast Boy’s song “Catchin’ Villains” and Lil Yachty’s song “Teen Titans GO!” Lil Yachty wrote that song for Teen Titans Go: To the Movies.
Compared to Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go received very impressive ratings. The show has even been greenlit for more episodes, and they surpassed the five-season mark. The successor has also received two movies: Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, and Teen Titans Go vs. Teen Titans. In that recent production, we get introduced to the multiverse; most importantly, we are reunited with the cast from Teen Titans. They go through a long-awaited battle to finally prove who is the better version. The fight ended in a draw; however, we found out that the two Trigons were behind the encounter, and they kidnapped both Ravens to use their powers. The rest of the team had to learn to work together to save the Ravens and the universe from Trigon (again, for the original Teen Titans; watch “End of the World” parts 1-3, season 4).
For me, it was a very exciting movie and an excellent way to ease the generation that had the original show. And if Robin from the original Teen Titans can admit how impressed he was with the new Teen Titans, I can, too.

So apparantly no trailer today. We were wrong. *muffled sobbing* BUT LET'S FoCUS ON SOMeTHINB E L Se TODAY.
How come nobody was sad about the mileven breakup but the rain fight ended in a destroyed Castle Byers, Mike and Lucas biking in the rain to apologize to Will, and multiple emotional lines such as "It's not my fault you don't like girls" and "so you can swap spit with some stupid girl?" and "I guess I did I really did"
Meanwhile all we got with the mileven breakup was "I dump your ass" and a disgusted look. Just a smidge of comedic relief. That makes total sense.
AHHHH HIEDJGKFDGHDJKJJJKNJJ IM SO UPSET LIEK.,,, there was so much hype for it :( oh well,, i hope we get some new content soon
AND YEPPP to quote mr clarke: exactamundo. maybe theyre trying to tell us to not take the m*leven breakup seriously, with all the bright colours and the fun song that plays after.. the CHARACTERS arent even taking it seriously! el and max laughed and high fived each other like it was hilarious what had just happened while mike just looked annoyed and then the boys went to his basement to eat chips and fart and complain about it like it was some mildly inconveniencing thing and not a heart-wrenching breakup.
THEN.. with the byler fight... its pouring rain and moody blue colours and theyre both heated and upset and theres no fun music playing.. its actually sposed to be serious and something hard to deal with, and there are sad quotes like "i guess i did, i really did." and mikes face is crushed, not annoyed at all.. then it propels will to literally DESTROY castle byers in a crying rage, a safe haven for him and something that meant a lot to him.. and mike immediately biked through the pouring rain to his house to apologise to him and then they even go to castle byers when no one answers the door too like !!!! THIS feels more like the sad breakup than whatever tf went down with el and mike .

hopes for the new td szn
i honestly have no clue where they’re gonna take the new seasons of total drama, but ideally they bring back all the people that need to close their storylines + develop existing characters that haven’t gotten a lot of spotlight.
honestly, they don’t even need to come back. just give us an episode to acknowledge the cast that isn’t coming back and maybe show what they’ve been up to - kinda like the celebrity manhunt one but maybe with less jail
fix gwen and courtney’s friendship once and for all. please just let them talk things out for once, and if they don’t remain friends that’s cool, but i just need their resolution
more island courtney! more assertive and putting the team first courtney!! not courtney who has no remorse about feeding people bird ppop courtney
plz make gwen finally take responibility for her actions/ actively confront her issues with others instead of just running away
please have duncan reconcile his bad boy good boy thing. he can still be snarky and pull pranks, but i wanna see him develop his self confidence/want him to grow and not care about if people see him as a bad boy or not
this has been said before but alejandro and heather as the aftermath hosts would be so funny omg (ft. harold would be great lol)
if owen is gonna be in it, give me more ridonculous race owen rather than fart comedic relief owen
can we give sierra a storyline outside of cody
if lindsay is eliminated, give her a proper elimination - and don’t write her being dumb about stuff like pushing a cart ? ? ?
i’d love to see more eva, trent, bridgette, unferal zeke, unmutated dakota, dawn, brick, scott
beth and lindsay bffs!!
i’d love to see lightning and jo again but i feel like the writers don’t know what to do with their rivalry anymore (seeing allstars and how they were both booted early)
i don’t really seeing anything more for the mike, zoey, cameron trio. they’ve all placed really highly and have decent development. i just wish that the mal storyline was excuted better + focused less on trying to make zoey super likable
more b!! i know that characters that don’t speak have a hard time making it far, but i think that he has a lot of potential!
more justin and noah iconic quotes
more camp time since they’re going back to the island - give me them hanging out and talking like during phobia factor. give me days off!! campfire songs!! shenanigans like during basic straining!! unexpected friendships and drama outside the competition
himbo party boy geoff just for the vibes
leshawna and heather’s friendship not being forgotten
leshawna not getting deceived by random guys because she knows better than that
chef and chris friendship. also chris and chef punking the kids and not torturing them sadistically
bring back the summer camp talent contest challenge!!!
challenges that show off skills of competitors - not just physical ones
bring back i triple dog dare you/say uncle
#total drama#new season#total drama island#total drama action#total drama world tour#total drama ridonculous race#total drama revenge of the island#total drama all stars#tdi#tda#tdwt#tdroti#tdas#total drama pahkitew island#tdrr#tdpi

How GOT7 Acts With Their S/O
↘︎ Jaebeom - JB’s love towards you would be simple and pure. He would always be open with you and it reassured you that he didn’t care about your appearance nearly as much as he would your heart. Even when he would be busy, JB would make time for you somehow— whether it would be letting you sit on his lap while he was recording songs or sending you cute, flirty texts between shoots. We all know JB always says he “isn’t cute, just sexy” but you’re the only one that can bring that adorable side out of him. At the start of your relationship, Jaebeom would try to make himself seem as if he is the “ideal” boyfriend material by doing cheesy stuff like writing song lyrics about you, taking polaroid pictures of you, and even singing to you over the phone. But as soon as he starts getting comfortable around you, this dude is gonna smell like ten cans of bounce that ass. He wouldn’t care about what he looked like in front of you, keeping his place clean when you came over, or farting around you. Overall, that's how he shows he loves you because he is able to be himself around you.
↘︎ Mark - Being in a relationship with Mark would be the chillest shit ever. He would always be laid back as hell and wouldn’t really care if you had ‘girls nights’ or took a long time to text him back. Mark is very quiet and observant around his members, and he would act the same around you. If you’re having a bad day, he’s the perfect person to come to if you need to talk because he is a great listener. Although he’s quiet, you should expect a lot of LA pool parties and gatherings with his family and friends. Mark would also be that type of boyfriend to forget stuff though because sometimes he forgets he has a girlfriend. He would be so busy playing video games that he would forget that he had to show his girlfriend attention, leaving you to sometimes be a little hurt. But as soon as he would see you sad, he would let you sit on his lap or just turn off the game completely and remind you that you’re his number one priority.
↘︎ Jackson - This man is absolute husband material. Jackson strikes me as that one dude who is always showing you off. Wherever you guys go, he always has to make it known that you are his girlfriend. When going out to a restaurant he would always say some slick shit like ‘table for Mr. and Mrs. Wang’ and would basically treat you guys as if y’all were king and queen. We all know that Jackson loves his family, especially his mom, so he would strive for you to build a relationship with them. As an example, every time he’s on the phone with his mom he might try to give you the phone so she can talk to you. Jackson would be very clingy with you and would make you baby him. Because he has a comedic personality, he makes it his goal to make you laugh at least ten times a day because nothing makes him more happy than seeing your smile. Even when you’re having a bad day, he makes it his top priority to brighten your day.
↘︎ Jinyoung - Jinyoung is that type of boyfriend that would try to seem nonchalant and doesn’t want to show you that he cares. He can be cold at times but feels as though no other person can be like that towards you except for him because he is very protective towards you. For instance, after you do your makeup and hair and ask him how you look, he would say ‘you look ugly’ jokingly but you know that he thinks you’re beautiful. Don’t get me wrong, he is head over heels for you and everytime he looks at you, he gets hypnotized by your beauty but he just doesn’t know how to tell you straight up how he feels so he hides it with jokes and coldness. Rather than telling you how much he loves you through words, he would show that he loves you through romantic gestures (for example: taking you out to dinner or bringing you flowers unexpectedly). Jinyoung would go out of his way to be a gentleman for you. It would be the little things he did repeatedly such as pulling out your chair, giving you his jacket when you were cold, or opening the car door for you that reminded you daily of how much you loved him. Despite his “cold” demeanor, Jinyoung would be absolutely smitten with you.
↘︎ Youngjae - Youngjae is a boyfriend that never takes things seriously. For instance, if you busted your ass on some ice, he’s going to laugh. If you embarrass yourself by accidentally burping out loud, he’s going to laugh. Youngjae is never going to take things literally and sees joy in anything you do. He’s good at releasing tension during awkward situations in a room and reassuring you that it’s okay to just make light of every situation. Youngjae does not really show sad emotions a lot (from what we see), and his main priority would be staying strong himself and keeping you happy. He’s GOT7’s “eternal sunshine” and he would be the same for you. You and Coco would be his two queens. Expect some teasing from him saying ‘Coco came first’ or letting Coco kiss him instead of you. He would use you as inspiration for writing songs by just staring at your face and writing down his feelings for you. Youngjae would be a shy, but passionate lover and would portray his love through sweet gestures like this.
↘︎ Bambam - BamBam as a boyfriend would be your best friend. This relationship would be full of goofiness and laughs. He wouldn’t even feel like your boyfriend because you guys are so close and joke around so much. There would be tons of inside jokes and teasing. Bambam definitely is the type of boyfriend to make everything seem perverted. For example, if you said your favorite fruit was bananas, he would say some corny shit like ‘but you like my banana better’. He would always spoil you with nice clothes and even if they cost a lot, he would act as if it’s not a big deal because he just wants to make you happy. BamBam would treat you like a queen and wouldn’t hesitate to tell you when you look good. Even if you were insecure, he would make you feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. Expect a lot of ‘babygirl’s from him and always showering you with compliments to remind you of how beautiful you are and how lucky he is to have you as his.
↘︎ Yugyeom - Yugyeom is the most childish and silliest boyfriend you could ever have. Sometimes you just have to sigh and ask yourself ‘why is he like this’. This boy is the type to mess with you while you're studying for a test or on a phone call. He would come from behind you and start poking your cheeks or start braiding your hair. He would be like them lil annoying ass kids who say ‘watch what I can do’ and start pulling some stupid tricks. Just like Jackson, Yugyeom would be clingy towards you. Even though he’s tall as hell and almost twice your size, he would want you to treat him like his big baby. He craves your attention and always needs you to show him some type of acknowledgement even if it's you getting annoyed and mad at him for not leaving you alone. He always wants some form of praise from you because he needs reassurance that you still love him. In general, he loves that you can put up with him. Despite all of this, Yugyeom would be the perfect caretaker for you. He would cook you breakfast and even go out of his way to bring it to you in bed.

Why Shrek IS The Best
Tastes can change, you know? And it’s less about “What’s good about this now compared to before”, more of “Why would you like this now as opposed to before”? Unless allergic, you didn’t get why dark cola or hot chips tasted bad to you as a child, but when you grow up you can come to understand and appreciate it. Shouldn’t pressure yourself, that makes things worse, but things can certainly align in helping this newfound respect you get for something you’d believe you would never want again. That really is where I stand with Dreamworks’ Shrek. As a kid, while Toy Story left me traumatized for a while, Shrek left me side-eyeing with how crass and ugly it looked and I never wanted to think of it. But, as I grew up to respect animation a lot more, 2018 was where I looked back at Shrek and soon come to understand how wrong I was and how much greatness it has that I now consider it an all time great. And with it getting inducted into the Library of Congress, I thought it was finally time to present what I see in this film. Let’s do this right with...
The SOMEBODY
Now this frame has been meme’d to death. If there’s anything iconic about this film, ‘bout the franchise as a whole, it’s the exact moment when our main character charges out of his outhouse as Smash Mouth’s ‘All Star’ gets going. But this honestly just says a lot about Dreamworks’ direction from its previous films where compared to Disney that’ll take their time making the setup before getting into the hype point for its lead, Shrek gets going in one minute if we don’t count the logo intro. Not even The Emperor’s New Groove, which was going for the same tone before Shrek even released, took more of it’s time with the fairy tale aspect of it in its intro. Shrek literally wipes his ass with the fairy tale aspect before giving us the SOMEBODY, all around a minute. This frame really shows that this is sticking to the Disney formula in some way because it’s wasting no time getting into it. It represents the more brisk pace Shrek has with pulling you into what it’s gonna be about. This overall frame works in its thematic and parody aspect and I’ve yet to see anything top this exact moment, not even the greatest films I’ll ever remember.
But enough about the fact that I made a whole paragraph about this one frame of the movie. Let’s dive into what I say is a piece of the heart for this film.
The Earnestness
Speaking of Disney, you probably notice that their films have some cushioning in their presentation, like they generally don’t show things with a straightforward lens; there’s some theatrics in the way their best movies present themselves. That’s not a problem, mind you, but that helped me understand how Shrek does things very differently whether you consider it parody or not. While it throws mockery at the played out conventions associated with fairy tales, especially its most subtle jab at copyright, it doesn’t full on say fairy tales are annoying and bad. Hell, the film IS a fairy tale adapted from a fairy tale about a fookin’ OGRE that can eat lightning and kills with farts. But, it’s an accurate and earnest way to view a fairy tale from a somewhat realistic lens. Let’s take Shrek’s journey for instance.
Typically, the main character would want to experience something more; explore new horizons, prove themselves, find their calling. Shrek off the bat doesn’t need or desire any of that. He’s content with his life, beside the angry mob he casually scares off, and throughout the film he’s not interested in anything else outside getting the squatters out his swamp. He happily makes a deal with the villain of the film to exile those innocent refugees off his land so he could then build a wall to keep everybody out. Bringing up Emperor’s New Groove again, Shrek and Kuzco are the few characters I know that are actively antagonistic even when they’re forced into their situation from outside forces. However unlike Kuzco that gets to be emperor again but learns humility, Shrek is in the same spot as before but learns that there are people out here that can love him for who he is. I can’t say there’s anything grand about that, but it doesn’t need to be unlike the many Disney or any film that tries to shower you with the grandest themes. The relationships Shrek has with Donkey and Fiona are the most grounded I’ve ever seen because they’re not only natural, they’re hardly dolled up with the bells and whistles made to either drum up the biggest laughs or tug the heart strings viciously. When I think about it, I honestly could see myself in Shrek. He isn’t made to be a legend, he isn’t some secret genius or lost prince, he’s just an every-man ogre that wants to live peacefully or meet SOMEBODY that doesn’t treat as someone to be feared or disgusted at. Everything Shrek says is something anybody could or would say if they were his shoes because he, and the film in general, is the most grounded without making it all distractedly meta or genre-savvy. This is generally helped by...
The Dounkaey
Everyone’s talked about how Donkey is the best confidant for Shrek and Fiona. How he’s most true to himself to where he’s the most openly musical character in the film, and how he’s the most balanced here with his comedic vs serious moments. But I gotta say it too: Donkey is one of the greatest sidekicks ever. He’s a motormouth, but is never annoying to where you wish he left the film. The couple times he is purposefully annoying, not for a joke, is when he knows Shrek isn’t being truthful. He truly gets to know Shrek on this journey, and is the character Shrek gets to capacity to actually loosen up to, so it’s fitting that he’d be the one to push Shrek when the ogre’s sounding more vague than usual. Even when he’s harshly insulted, Donkey doesn’t take it as bad as when Shrek kept trying to shut him out again in the 3rd act after the Hallejulah sequence which is the scene in every Shrek movie where’s there a super sad song because Shrek is alone and yadda ya. I’ll get to it in a bit, but he is as much responsible in providing Fiona that seed of doubt that Shrek wouldn’t love her as the ogre she is. Donkey is the greatest friend because he wants to be there for those who are okay with him being around, and while you could give and take sidekick animals in your notable films with them in it, this film really wouldn’t have happened without him. Speaking of Fiona, I won’t retread what’s been said before like with Donkey but I did want to bring up something I haven’t seen many talk about,,,
The Love for An Ogre
I’ve seen many say the scene where Shrek overhears Fiona talk about “Who could love an ugly beast?” and misinterprets that as her talking about him as a cliched or contrived downside to the film, but I feel that a defense can be made. It personally makes sense that Shrek would misinterpret that and take it personally because 1) Who else would Fiona be talking about? 2) How would he know she was talking with Donkey? 3) Why would he just barge in on her? 4) Has no one considered that this moment is parallel to when Fiona overhears Shrek’s conversation with Donkey the night before?
Fiona is very much the antithesis to Shrek’s character where she can very much be open about what she wants but is scared at the idea of anyone figuring out who she really is. She’ll gladly be gross, kick ass, eat the young of a bird she let explode, but won’t let anyone see her true face. That’s why her curse makes sense, and why Shrek would take a fondness to her despite her initial disdain of him rescuing her. Fiona’s a character where the surface level beauty is her weakness as opposed to Shrek where it’s internal. Which is why when she overhears Shrek open up to Donkey about his societal isolation, she’s soon more comfortable around him. And it’s why when she opens up to Donkey about her looks, Shrek would unfortunately take it personal enough. I ask again, why would Shrek barge in on a conversation he wasn’t aware of or who she was talking about to not take it about anything else but him when what he heard such a cut so deep, especially from a character that bears his similar issues? It also helps that Donkey was in on it, as Shrek feels reasonably betrayed by the only other person he’s come to appreciate in his life. Contrived as it seems, it’s thematically important and appropriate to the conflict of Shrek’s character and the film overall. Don’t know how this could be conveyed any other way because it adds up at least.
I just wanna know how Shrek got to Faarquard’s and back by sunrise like did he run cuz that looked like a huge distance to travel on foot but anyways...
I’m sure things could’ve worked out if Shrek knew, either by barging in that night or through Donkey, but I think it’s fitting that the climax takes place at the wedding. After Shrek and Donkey understand their friendship, after Donkey reciprocates the Dragon’s love (more ways than one), and when Shrek grasps the mistake he made to charge over to Fuccquad’s chapel, we get to...
The End
After everything, we get to the moment where Shrek and Fiona get to share their first kiss, Fiona permanently transforms into an ogre, and we get this exchange. One of my favorite exchanges in the whole film:
Shrek: “Are you all right?” Fiona: “Well yes. But I don’t understand... I’m supposed to be beautiful.”
Shrek: “But you ARE beautiful”
We don’t need any other vows to understand their relationship was built up to this. This moment where Shrek can reaffirm Fiona’s feelings of being able to be herself in every way, because she allowed him to be himself in every way before. That’s that mutual love, baby, that just gets me every time and makes this film one of the best romance stories I know as well, even when it isn’t solely about the romance. This is Shrek’s story, and there’s nothing more touching than seeing this outcast not only get another to view him as a friend, not only someone to love, but people, if only a couple, to actually wanted to get to know him. I know Shrek 2 expands on this more, and it’s considered a golden sequel, but I will always cherish the first movie for how much it tells us off the bat while appearing as a “Take That” to Disney films. This is the genesis of Shrek feeling more accepted for himself and society and it just bears so much good commentary while being a good adventure nonetheless. Like you could say this film indeed has... dimensions? “You were trying to meme about la-”
The Conclusion
Mentioning it, I always had this thought with the conversation Shrek and Donkey had of why Shrek didn’t just “be an ogre” and pillage Fuccnut’s fortress. It’s possible Shrek could’ve taken out Faarquid himself, but that would mean being the beast he knows people have shunned him for, grabbed the torches and pitchfolks for, made him feel worse for. Shrek enjoys being an ogre, but he doesn’t like how society makes him feel lesser as an ogre. That really is what the four films have been about for him and what I’ve come to appreciate about these films personally. It can be easy to love yourself even when there are others out here that stand against you, but it’s hard to consider that anyone else could love you for who you are in spite of how you try to present yourself. But if there’s anything Shrek showed me, it’s that it’s possible. There can/will be people out here who appreciate the real you, will be there as much as you want to for them, and can help you realize more about yourself as opposed to suffering to silence eternally. Generally ideal, I know, but this film in the least offered me that thought in the most balanced way possible. It’s incredible how much of a tightrope this film has in its parody and sincerity and that makes its induction in the National Film Registry and being the first ever Best Animated Award winner pretty justified all things considered.
I know this film, the character, has been a meme over the years. As Schaffrillas mentions in his video, the direction Dreamworks made because of Shrek’s success kinda turned it into a heel people clowned on because, in theory, it was nothing but a joke with the onions and the swamp and IT’S NEVER OGRE. Then again, like I said in the beginning, tastes change. I’d say with Schaff’s masterful analyses on the film series and 3GI’s Shrek Retold and Shrekfest, the perception of the film sure enough shifted like the perception of Megamind. It’s one thing for a movie to blow people away or leave them thinking it’s horrible beyond belief, it’s another to take the time to then look back and see how those feelings have changed. For Shrek, it’s a film that was able to trudge out of the meme era to be a film many consider a strong, rewatchable, and unique. Like the beauty of Spongebob, Shrek is a considered a classic because as in the times as it appeared when it released, this film actually stood on its own with the most enjoyable and meaningful timelessness, exploring the desired love for the self, that deserves to be recognized. What else can I say, people?
It’s The Best
