How does Mychael know how to correctly pronounce words if he has been isolating himself from people??

Oh, fun question! For the sake of brevity, he's lived a long time. Starting out he definitely couldn't speak English at all, but he started out eavesdropping on others' conversations, especially paying attention on children talking to their mothers.

Once the world grew modern, he started listening and picking up words through radio broadcasts and television through shop windows. That's also when he started visiting the library too, struggling to grasp vocab and grammar with basic kid books (like Peter and Jane, for example).

I'd say he doesn't start talking confidently well into his late teens and even then his grammar is real awkward. It's only better once he figured out how to read and fixed his own pronunciation.

Wolfwood looks at him with a surprised expression, but doesn't probe.

But if you're just trying to get rid of me--" The panels follow Wolfwood's certain expression as he says this, "I don't intend to leave you. I can't... and I won't." A panel shows Vash's wide-eyed expression, surprised upon hearing this, and then his eyes soften as Wolfwood again concludes with, "I'm sorry."

Vash's inner thoughts begins, a boxed speech at the center of the page and panels of his eyes, his brows furrowing again and a resigned, but frustrated expression. His thoughts starts, "Stop. I shouldn't be happy hearing that. And why are you apologizing? I should be the one to..! I can't let anything like that happen to you. You deserve to live a long steady and peaceful life. I want to be optimistic. I want to protect you, but I might end up doing the opposite." The text surrounds Wolfwood from Vash's perspective, the other man drinking out of his shotglass, his eyes downcasted.

"I shouldn't have you. And you won't leave." Behind these text is a panel of Wolfwood's eyes finally looking over to Vash. Vash's thoughts continues,  "It's so unfair." When Wolfwood sees Vash, his eyes soften and he frowns. The last panel shows the lower half of Vash's face, but tears begins to flow down his cheek. Wolfwood's hand is already reaching to wipe at them as he starts to say, "You know..."

A wider shot of Vash and Wolfwood, Vash slightly leaning forward with his mouth tightly shut, and tears steadily continuing to flow out of his closed eyes. Wolfwood continues to wipe at them with his hand as he continues, "This isn't a dream anymore. I don't know what you saw for you to be this shaken up, but whatever happened, you'll overcome it, right? If not you, I'm here too. You'll be okay, Spikey. So..." Wolfwood's expression grows more tender, "Have a little faith in me... and come back already." The dark blue starts to fade.

The wide panel has the dark blue background faded and replaced is the light pink. It shows Vash in full up to his shoulders, his eyes are still tears littered, but there's light in them as he says, "Wolfwood..." making eye contact with the other. The next panel shows Wolfwood's tender expression, his eyes and brows fully soften and he has a small smile on his lips, finally seeing the other return a level of sincerity with him.

The next panel shows the bottom half of Wolfwood's face and his hand is offered towards Vash for a dance as he says, "C'mon. We don't have to talk, but this is okay, right?" The background is now white and a ribbon flowing across the page separates this panel from the next sequence. Vash's inner thoughts continus, "I've spent too long avoiding this. It's scary to want after I've taken so much from others." A sequence close up of their hands is shown, with Wolfwood's outstretched hand on the right and Vash's reaching hand on the left. Vash gently places his hand in Wolfwood and at the bottom, Wolfwood wraps his fingers across Vash's.

Throughout the page, a dark blue ribbon starts to flow around the both of them with confetti raining alongside the effect. Vash and Wolfwood are hand and hand, dancing together with Wolfwood as the lead. The viewer can see a peak of Vash's expression, full of fondness but also a hint of sorrow as he looks down at Wolfwood. His inner thoughts continue, "I don't deserve this. I don't deserve you. But why is that even though I have these burdens, I still want to love you. I still want you to be by my side."

With a close up of their mouths, Vash's thoughts continue, the text covering his mouth, "Wolfwood, I--" Wolfwood's speech bubble covers Vash's text as he completes his sentence, "want you." Vash's eyes widen for one panel and in the next, his eyes spark, a blush appearing on his cheek and the confetti flows and spark. Tears ease up on his eyes again.

"Want me too already, Spikey." Wolfwood has leaned in enough to rest his head against Vash, a hand of his on Vash's neck, holding his nape and another hand pressed gently against his back. A ribbon separates this panel from the next, a mix of confetti flows across the page, as Vash envelopes Wolfwood in a hug too, holding him and his hand gripping tightly onto his back.

This page is just the ribbon flowly throughout the page on the white background, one white ribbon and the other a dark blue. Near the bottom, the ribbon envelopes each other in a loop. A conversation of Vash and Wolfwood is held over these ribbons, Vash starting to say, "What if I hurt you? What if you..?" Wolfwood responds, "You? How could you hurt me?" Vash, "You know what I mean... You see it everyday..." Wolfwood responds, "If you think I'm going to kick the bucket so easily, I suggest you look at me more closely from now on, idiot. I'm not that easy to get rid of."

The next page has the ribbon criss cross over the top of the page. Vash and Wolfwood can be seen in their dancing position again, Wolfwood now resting a hand on Vash's shoulder, as Vash takes the lead. Vash continues, "Well, I know that... I tried." Wolfwood responds, "But you won't anymore... since you want me... around, yeah?" Wolfwood's head cocks to the side, smiling with assurance, cheeks flushed. Vash looks at him with a wide smile and fond, loving eyes. The confetti flows across the bottom of this page and as it eases into the next page, it starts to disappear.

Vash responds, ".. Yeah... I do..." as he pulls Wolfwood into a hug again. Wolfwood says, "Not going to run away anymore, are you?" Vash says, "No... I trust you." A panel shows Wolfwood's turning away slightly with a shy expression, muttering "Geez..."

In a more simplified style, Wolfwood is seen gripping Vash's cheeks now with his hand, "Though... You do remember you avoided me for two weeks straight, right? How are you going to make that up to me?" Wolfwood asks. Vash responds with eyes closed and a pucker of his lips. A vein of irritation appears on Wolfwood's face. Wolfwood starts to squeeze at Vash's cheek with both hands, shouting, "Now that you've recovered, you're trying to be funny, huh?!" Vash says through the squished cheeks, "I'm just happy..."

The next page opens with a closed up panel of Vash's widen eye as Wolfwood's hand moves from squishing his cheeks to gently holding them and Wolfwood leans in. The inner thoughts starts again, "There's a chance I'm not making the right choice... My dreams, my fears of losing you, it will never go away. But you said you won't let it happen... And I want to hang onto your words closely this time. After all, if it's anyone who can make me believe, it's you."  The white ribbon from previous pages flows across the page and it visibly ends at the bottom of the page, enclosing the two of them as they share a gentle kiss with Vash holding Wolfwood's face, a tear in his eye.

The next pages starts with Wolfwood saying, "You cryin' again?" Vash responds, "I'm just grateful..." Wolfwood responds, "But you've always had me." Vash responds, "Being like this is different from staring at you from behind all the time though..." The two can be seen together again, Wolfwood pressing his elbows against the table with Vash leaning over him. Wolfwood is easing the tears out of Vash's eye again, just like earlier. A close panel of Vash's fond expression is seen as he says, "Thank you, Wolfwood." Wolfwood looks up at him with a small smile, gentle eyes. Confetti starts to flow lightly across the page as text starts to appear against the white background, "I'm the one who's grateful...

That you'd embrace someone like me, when I'm not fit to hold you in the first place... But I know better than to hesitate. The moment I acknowledged it, I knew I'd spend the rest of my life loving you. So, have as much of me as you want, Vash."

coworkers to lovers - jeonghan seems like an extremely charming and interesting guy who doesnt even have to try. im 100% sure people who work around him fall for him every single day. i think he'd be very entertained by the idea of crushing on a staff member/coworker. it would make him look forward to work and make him always seek you out while on the job.

childhood friends to lovers - he seems the type that would keep a special someone in his heart for a very long time, even if it was just as friends. leaving his home country so young, the distance would make him realize his feelings and end up with that one special person from back home.

arranged marriage - okay not exactly arranged marriage but more so him being with someone his parents introduce him to! he seems to be a huge family oriented guy, so i see him ending up with someone his parents may have thought would be perfect for him. it'd start off as him giving it a chance to please his parents but ending up actually falling for this person.

sunshine vs. grump - this concept isnt necessarily 100% black and white to me. but still i think maybe he would fall for someone who has a very contrasting personality his very positive and over the top demeanor. he'd enjoy the back and forth in which he'd act ridiculously to get his s/o to react while they pretended to be annoyed by him.

long distance - idk if this is a trope ?? but i think wonwoo's love absolutely transcends any and every obstacle imaginable. i think he would be the definition of distance makes the heart grow fonder. he would cherish every single moment he got to be with you, constantly yearning for you any second he was away from you.

opposites attract - as someone who seems to keep to himself a lot and is a bit of a homebody, i think he would easily fall for someone who got him out of his comfort zone and got him to discover parts of himself he didnt know about before. would adore an s/o who was louder in nature and livelier, feeling some sort of nurturing sense in him come out whenever he was around them.

friends to lovers - its a classic for a reason! i cant understand how people dont constantly fall for seokmin but im 100% sure that if he had a crush on a friend of his, he would easily be able to charm them enough for them to reciprocate the crush. there would be a period of time of that cute back and forth in which he tried to 'court' them, ending up together in the end.

chance encounter - watching nana tour ive loved seeing how insanely outgoing and likable by strangers he is so i think that he would be the type to incidentally meet a person and subsequently fall for them. however, mingyu is a hopeless romantic so he wouldnt allow for this to be his one and only meeting. he would go to hell and back to reconnect.

minghao -

language barrier - ok ik this isnt actually a trope but i really do see minghao taking interest in a person who doesnt speak his language. i think that if a foreigner (in this case someone who does not speak korean or chinese) caught his attention, he would not be deterred by the language barrier and still seek them out. he would maybe even be more intrigued by the concept of communicating despite the barrier.

found family - seungkwan is one of the sweetest and most likable people alive. im sure there's tons of people out there who consider him part of their found family. i think he'd be the type to become super close with that special someone (to the point of considering them as precious as his own family) only to eventually fall for them (and have them fall right back bc i mean its boo so how would you not fall for him!).

class difference - i really see him falling for someone who's not in the industry. just someone who is an average person with an average life. this would obviously come with its complications, but i think he would enjoy the contrast between your lives and would live a regular life through your own.

mutual pining - contrary to popular opinion, i believe chan has insane rizz. however! i think he would be the type to have negative rizz when he has a crush on someone. he's still impossible to not fall for though, so this would lead to him and his future s/o to pine for each other for years, not realizing that their friendship could be more if one of then would just step up and confess.

hi ! i have a question, i was wondering something when it comes to your 'breakfast au'. ive read through a lot of this, and ive seen you and multiple other people state velvette "deserves" this? that just confused me in general, because out of all the people in the show, velvette probably has done the least amount of bad things. so how would she deserve this? i saw a few people saying its because of the love potion thing she collaborated with valentino on, but i dont really think thats a valid point. given it states in the wiki that its unconfirmed what that actually was. (ill send an image of where it says this.) it couldve been anything. and given velvettes line of work, (fashion, social media) id assume itd be some sort of perfume made to be taken orally. like perhaps a pheromone perfume which ive seen is commonly promoted by influencers, or just these types of people in general.

the next point i saw was somebody saying shes a narcissist? which, she really isnt. if you do any research on npd you could see that. velvette is shown to be confident, maybe even egotistical. she acts like a confident teenager would. she doesnt have npd.

ive seen people say she deserves this type of thing because shes friends with the vees..? which honestly would make no sense. so far in the show, shes shown to only really speak to vox. (which isnt bad, given vox hasnt exactly done anything big and bad like say alastor or valentino, or hell, even sir pentious' crimes.) everytime shes really talked about valentino, its been in a bad way. shes shown to not like him. so its not like those two are best friends or even anything more than business associates from what ive seen??

anywho, i was just a bit confused. i was also a bit confused on alastors behavior aswell. while yes, hes a horrible person, yes he eats people, YES he would do something like this; he has no reason to with velvette. he gains nothing from this. so whats the point of him doing it?? its not to spite vox, given alastor is shown in the show, not to give too fucks about vox 😭

Alastor gets to mess with Vox and to make HIM suffer from screams (Valentino comes as a bonus). He GIVEs fucks about Vox tho, maybe not as much as the said TV man, but still. He spills the tea about Vox asking him to join the Vees, and does so clearly to humiliate him. The way he tells about it implies that. so he WOULD spite Vox if he had a chance that wouldn't take too much effort.

but still, Velvette isn't innocent. she's in hell and it has to be for a reason. she joined the Vees which indicates that she supports their activities. Velvette had no problem with Val killing her models except that it causes troubles to her show.

about Vox, he's also fucked up. And maybe he isn't killing people left ang right, he does many bad things, like hypnotizing people, stalkering and so on. He supports Valentino's attitude too. He knows what Val does to Angel and doesn't give a fuck.

Problem here is that you only count things shown on screen. While characters have life outside of it. And for now we've seen only Val being a horrible person. Bonus points that he's being mean to the chracter we know and love. Other Vees didn't get the time to show their fuckedupness. I know for a fact that in season 2 we'll get at least Vox' fucked up side. and, hopefully, Velvette's too, and people will finally stop thinking that they're poor little meow meows that ended up under bad Valentino's influence.

Also, as i was saying in the first post about this AU - Velvette really shouldn't have said that the can eat other overlords for breakfast (au namedrop!!!) in front if 2 real cannibals. They took that personal.

ok first and foremost. the ANIMATION WAS INCREDIBLE I WAS SO SHOCKED.. The budget mustve been crazy everything was so smooth. It really impressed me.. especially the action scenes and the hair movements. it was all super good

his va did a great job of being like annoyingly calm. its so kevin to somehow take a relaxation camp way too seriously (also the fact his life was so ruined by his date with hiromi flopping that he had to go on a 2 week retreat to find inner peace).

i was actually really interested in how they were gonna tackle that but a timeskip makes sense.

skip past kevins initial extreme misery and leave it up for the audience to make up. i am still curious as to what his friendgroup looks like because. did thjey stop hanging out. ARE hiromi and kevin too awkward to see eachother. anthony and fred are children of divorce. its so sad. well we'll see what happened eventually

It was great to see veronica hill back again too i missed my queen. i hope she finds love on the open sea.

actually speaking of that i was so sure that that was gonna be the boat from that sinking feeling and it was going to change the trajectory of the dwampyverse timeline forever but i think that was just a tease or a really really vague reference

the villain was also incredibly funny. great voicework too im sure it was some guest voice or something that i just dont recognize because it just feels that way to me.

great guy hope he comes back. and the reocurring THERE ARE NO LAWS ON INTERATIONAL WATERS BABY was actually funny.

it really made me happy to see that especially since i was so positive that we werent gonne get any rep from dwampyverse but obviously im WRONG and there are 2 beautiful women loving eachother and eating clams out there.

I was almost disappointed the song was so early because i wanted a dramatic clam musical number but thats literally minimal complaint i have about that episode because it was such a strong opener.

also congrats to the newlyweds lunchlady and piano key vendor i think they will have a long lasting and beautiful relationship.

also when i saw those 2 old man leaving i was like wow are we getting a double whammy with gays but that was just a cameo. next time though

The Great American Telenovella

THE RETURN OF MY QUEEN. the opening in the hospital made me think it was gonna go in a completely different direction.

Both of these episodes had the songs super early on interestingly enough. i didnt even realise the Fresas De Amor theme song was THE song of the episode. i thought it was just a jingle..

i was really happy that we got a carolina-centered (well a stretch but she was there a lot) episode. i really like her.

the animation was back to normal in this episode too which was a little sad and maybe skewed my opinion of the episode a little bit but not TOO much. i think.

despite being tricked on where the episode was going the gimmick with making fun of telenovella tropes was really really fun.

it felt almost like a rarity investigates type thing where they get really into character trope LOL

the first lady they interrogated (THE VILLAIN IS THE VILLAIN!!) had such a great design too i really like her.. the whole bit with her abandoning the show to become a taco crunchies commercial star was great too she gagged me.

and also her being like ok ill just sit here and watch all my personal belongings burn. I giggled..i cant lie..i did giggle a little...

ok i cannot dance around it any longer but THE RETURN OF LA CEBOLLA. I REALLY DIDNT THINK ITD BE THIS EARLY I WAS SO HAPPY.

i saw her in the back as the lunchlady and i knew everything was going to be ok.. I was safe in her hands..

also her powers were used super clever i really enjoyed the Onion Fists. and also the dramatic shot of hamster getting concussed by an onion.

this kind of goes back to me being shocked the telenovella intro was the episodes song because i was really hoping we'd get another la cebolla number akin to fighting facial hair again

i also get another shot of her lying in a hospital bed. the one from her song is literally one of my favourite pictures ever so its great to have another equally as bizarre one

shes definitely maybe my FAVOURITE hng villain so it was great to see her again.

im biased so i wished she had gotten more time to shine but also i think that entire scene with hamster pretending to be her son la cebollito.

it was really funny karina did great with the line delivery there. i loved how she was like But why are you so small!??!?!?! i love that she runs on telenovella logic. a true method actor

i really did enjoy that episode but hakuna ma kevin really felt like the stronger episode to me maybe SOLEY because of the animation. im an artist im easily pleased. they cant just tease me with god tier animated hng and then rip it from my hands as soon as i get it. its ok...ill get over it..ill forget it soon... The one who doesn't wanna talk about it, he is over the whole thing of course but he feels bad for even remembering. It's not that he felt desire when he saw the person but the sense of nostalgia feels wrong for him. He feels like it shouldn't even cross his mind, really, so it feels to him like a betrayal of sorts. If you don't notice he lets it go, might mope a little bit but ends pretty quickly. But if you catch on and ask him he will tell you what's bothering him but will try to talk as little as possible.

Shidou

The one who will openly talk about it, no problem what so ever. There is a chance he wouldn't even notice the person, to be honest, but if he does, he really doesn't care that much, thinking of the past isn't for him. He doesn't consider talking about the past a problem and doesn't think that remembering something that was good is any type of betrayal. So long as he isn't desiring the person it's fine. If you ask he won't have a problem about telling you but he also might not think it could upset you. It doesn't come from a bad place, he is just blunt.

Nagi

Chances are he won't notice the person, no matter how good it was he isn't one to notice things or people unless they are straight up in front of him. But if he does notice he will probably take a while to actually remember, he'll feel like he should remember and it'll take a while for his brain to catch up. Just shows you that he doesn't care, sure it was great, but he has something else now, thinking of the past is a hassle. If you notice, he'll tell you what he is thinking about, might hesitate though, thinking that your reaction could be troublesome.

Reo

Another one who won't want to talk about it and feels bad for even noticing the person in first place, and remembering what they had as that good when he has you makes him feel a bit sick with himself. Really does make his insecurities flare up, the feeling that if he is even thinking about the past he isn't being a good boyfriend to you. Will try to compensate his anxieties by being an extra good boyfriend, which could alert you. If you ask him seriously he will answer, he's gonna tell you about it and be all apologetic as he does.

Oliver

Ok so Oliver is a special case, if he is still a trash bag, oh well, this isn't gonna go over well at all. But if he has matured over his slut era at this point, he won't care. He will laugh about it even. He's gonna remember, sure, but in that weird way where you feel like your past was so different that it's alien to you. Wouldn't have a problem telling you about it but will also say that it feels like a lifetime away from him. It will probably just work to leave him struck with the notion of how different he was before to what he is at the moment.

the boy, who had been awkwardly standing on the wheelers porch, turns around in fright. he lets out a small squeak and you wince. you hadnt meant to scare him.

“sorry!” you say, putting your hands up so that he knows youre not a threat. “sorry, my mom always says i walk too quietly. it unnerves her.”

the boy doesnt say anything, he just stares at you with wide eyes and you get a sense that hes never really been spoken to by a girl before.

this is definitely not what you had in mind when your mom sent you to go pick up dustin tonight.

itd been a hellish week. you moved from virginia to indiana in the most boring thirteen hour drive of your life. your body was still sore from the ride, but the second you guys had arrived at the new house, dustin ran out the car doors and chased after some kid on a bike.

the two of them immediately became friends. dustin informed you his name was mike before he ran off to go play at his house, leaving you and your mom to unpack the car alone.

eventually mikes family came to help, their daughter, a girl your age named nancy, shyly introduced herself before running away back to her house. you were too tired to pay much attention to it, and too angry at the world for why you were even stuck in hawkins, indiana in the first place.

which leads you to now. standing on the wheelers porch with a boy your age who seems absolutely terrified of girls, unsure where your brother even is.

“so…” you try again.

the boy seems to snap back to himself. “oh! no, uh. no i dont live here.”

“okay… so why are you here?”

“right! uh, picking up my brother. will. hes best friends with mike.”

your hands linger together, and jonathan gives you this crooked smile, the kind thats almost mischievous yet shy, and you find that you love it. it suits his face.

some hair gets in his eyes and he quickly snatches his hand away so he can fix it. “stupid wind.”

you giggle. “oh, im sure it hates you.”

jonathan lets out a small laugh. “you tease all your friends like that?”

“mhm,” so he thinks youre already friends. you think youre okay with that. “get used to it, byers.”

“something tells me i’ll have to.”

warmth spreads within your chest and the two of you stand on the porch with only a street lamp as your light. shadows dance across jonathans face and you know already that you feel comfortable around him. he understands your humor, he seems to like it, and hes kind. a bit shy, sure, maybe uncertain, but kind.

youre about to ask him if he likes comics when the door flings open.

“my mom said to tell you guys to come inside already.” nancy says. she looks between you and jonathan, her eyes alight with curiosity.

do we think about how ryan and aster probably never fully accepted connor being dead. after the first day reset and shit i mean. theyd go to bed, silently hoping tomorrow theyd wake up and itd be like that day never happened, hell maybe they get set back again to the day of the big game. and they both just. they dont want to think of the idea that connors gone.

asters the one who trys to fight for him back. she makes up new reasons and such as to why hes not gone, ways they could possibly bring him back (it doesnt help that in this state she sounds so much like him about his brother). she looks through her dads artifact collections, seeing if any would make sense in any way to bring him back to life, losing care of its cost. she even tries to find his book or something of its nature, but finding that, if even possible, doesnt help because its a book made to kill not bring to life again. i dont imagine asters religious, not in the sense that she doesnt think gods are real (one is her mother), but that she never felt a pull to worship one. for the first time in her life, she tries to pray. she prays to her mother, reciting every word and performing every detail, squishing the tears from her eyes because god she cant let herself be seen so broken by this boy infront of a divine being and sure its the first time shes tried reaching out like this but she just needs one chance to talk to her. of course, whether or not it works and she sees her, she doesnt revive him. the day doesnt reset and he comes back to life. and somewhere inside her she knows this couldnt have worked, shes the daughter of a goddess and knows the balance of mortality and immortality. shes known he was gone the moment the rats attacked. thats why she fought so hard, because the small amounts of divine energy she held surely could beat what has been written by those above her just this once, just for him.

ryan doesnt let himself break. he has a floatball team to be on and an act to keep up and a friend who needs him. he doesnt have the ability to stop and let himself process how hed join in the bullying of "con-nerd" and how he gave ryan that hug before going to that gym and getting to see the vulnerable sides of connor when he talked about or even showed them (he probably showed him his friends) his brother. sure, he may know what its like to have lost family and connor was close in a way similar (might be a small shipper of those two. what of it. /lh they can be friends too ofc) and now hes gone and hell never get to hear him call ryan stupid when hes wearing his goofy grin or does something actually dumb. ryan, whos meant to be strong, let his friend get crushed by rats. and he wont break. he'll just tell gary to fuck off when hes caught tearing up after a floatball game because he had to look in the stands and know that connors not gonna be there selling hotdogs again. he can just put another lie in his act when hes looking in these history textbooks and say he wasnt thinking of olden magic usages and how they might be able to bring him back, closing his eyes so he doesnt gaze on them.

it takes ryan grabbing asters wrists and looking her dead in the eyes and telling her "i dont fucking like it, but connors gone. you know it. i know it. this is just gonna hurt you more. please. i cant lose one more person." it takes her looking in ryans eyes to see how theyre tired and dried out and his muscles seem to instinctively hold up a smile and how his grips just slightly too strong and yet he just is so tired and wants more then anything his best friend back. his breaths getting shakey and louder and he starts sniffling and she just grabs him down and they become sobbing messes of kids on the floor because god fucking damn it connors gone and nothings magically fixing this and nothing will be the same ever again.

it takes them a bit to figure out where his gravestone is. its empty. they should have honored him sooner, they know it, but they just wanted to hope that it wasnt just connors memory they had left living.

r and hobie being highschool sweethearts that grow apart due to him being bitten, ultimately ending in the end of their relationship. R thinks hobie is falling out of love with them, so they overthink and hobie never being there also causes a huge miscommunication error.

Whilst R wonders what they did wrong and see hobie at a gig/somewhere one night. The feelings they had for hobie never went away. And the Pearl is hobie in question and their memories that they play on repeat in their mind. But this gig/place hobie is spiderpunk and reveals himself from whose being the spiderpunk mask. R also then realizes and lines up the dates. And so its like this one big thing based off the lyrics (can you tell im thinking of angst and listening to mistki right now?)

But no add onto it add onto the angst.

R has to run from this because she cant handle it, and once hobie has revealed himself hes already cut off with R.

But villians or osborn have already found out he loved R at one point and think he just cut them off just to protect them (definitely a reason why)

And like think about them using R when fighting hobie putting R at risk.

Think about ultimately the panick hobie would be in because he hasnt lost feelings either, Rs one of the people hes ever loved/known. And all the memories come flashing back to him and it shows due to the boarders around him. Will he or will he not be able to save R?

Think about how much itd crush him if he didnt, hed blane himself 100% and in retrospect R wouldve dies from a broken heart and a huge miscommunication between their highschool sweetheart

the astral express trio:

- xiayu’s parents! dan heng, stelle and march 7th are probably one of the longer passengers of the express, definitely spend a couple years (read: closer to a decade) still aboard the train with pom-pom, himeko and welt

- (crossing every finger on my hands himeko survives hsr)

- regardless of what happens towards endgame, the three of them are dating for quite a while before dan heng finally actually asks to mate with both of them. stelle and march (obviously) readily accepted. i think march made a bigger deal out of it than the other two intended it to be, but it was a cute little party with their friends to celebrate it.

- (perhaps the luofu races have mating ceremonies? headcanon i suppose)

- im not sure if marriage is a concept in hsr (as we still havent come across any married couples yet) but they have matching jewelry. necklaces, with jade pendants on the chain. for two people who use two handed weapons, rings were out of the question anyway.

-xiayu was wholeheartedly an entire accident. i dont think dan heng ever expected to be able to have children of his own for obvious reasons, it probably never really crossed stelle’s mind, but march mightve had some serious baby fever a few times in those ten years. just because they were cute, not so much because she wanted to raise one.

- but i also think all three of them were pretty okay not being parents because being a nameless is dangerous work. as many times as theyve come home to the express scratched and beaten to hell, it wasnt something they wanted to put onto a child.

- but again, xiayu. she’s an odd little bean. mostly because how she came into existence at all is a bit of an ongoing question even bailu's still stumped over decades later. vidyadhara shouldnt be able to reproduce, yet her running theory is that something about the stellaron + vidyadhara biology interacted and the three of them just got unreasonably lucky.

-(or unlucky, if you ask a very morning sick dan heng)

-i don't care to get into the nitty gritty or even just details of how one child came from three different people, im very handwavey in that sense. easy enough to say dh (for lack of better terms) incubated her egg, she stayed in said egg for another couple months after being “born”ish and pop goes the new vidyadhara baby lol

- egg! i hc xiayu came out of an egg just like any other vidyadhara, but she cracked out of it way earlier because she’s a brand new person. in that in between time thought, she was carried around by the three of them. one of them was always with her, whether on them or in the little nest she stayed in.

- march was no longer allowed to go shopping for xiayu somewhere around a month or so before she was born. himeko was required to go with her if she wanted to buy anything else for the baby — one kid only needed so many things, and march was not the best about staying on topic. or budget.

- stelle was also, naturally, excited. but mostly curious, after all the only vidyadhara child she’d met was bailu, so she was a little concerned itd be different from human children. still, shes the one that assembled the creche and such, as well as sitting w the egg most of the time. the stellaron helped keep it warm.

- i think dan heng was the most worried about xiayu. from the fact that he was the one who incubated her to another fact that theyd created a whole new person together, he was a bit of a nervous wreck. tried not to show it much, failed pretty miserably towards the end of that period.

- xiayu’s egg cracked while march and stelle were away on a trailblaze mission, terribly harrowing moment for everyone involved when dan heng called in a panic. thankfully, she waited to make her proper debut until her moms could be there but dan heng had never been more stressed

- i have a very clear vision in mind of their skin-to-skin session directly after xiayu cracked her egg. gently pulling the shards off their daughter, cleaning her up a little. pulled close to stelle’s chest, warm and so soft. all three of them absolutely in love. there were tears. lots of them.

- so, so small. even with the extra time in her egg she was still smaller than most vidyadhara “newborns”. certainly smaller than dan heng had been — had he ever been that small? as innocent as the little person staring up at him? he doesnt know.

- and a million and one photos taken by march afterwards. she documented all of her achievements and milestones with her trusty camera. she never wants to forget these moments, her first moments as a mom, her first moments with her daughter.

- stelle is so content with her baby. parenthood was something she’d been mostly neutral on the whole process, and yet it seemed like everything they did was worth it. healthy, cooing in her arms, these cute little fingers that all wrapped around one of her fingers with a surprisingly strong grip. oh yes, xiayu was her baby. she’d be up to bat soon enough.

about xiayu:

- xiayu was a terribly fussy baby. never wanted to be left alone, never really wanted to nap, cried probably excessively. but she also babbled plenty, was all too happy to spend some time on her parents hip or to see the stars outside the express. this is why welt coined the nickname nova for her. the way her little eyes would light up in the parlor car seeing space was just adorable.

- dan heng purrs. this is relevant because i think a content xiayu also purrs.

- floppy toddler. likes to scare her parents a little by just going limp whenever. contrary to stelle’s belief, this is not as funny as xiayu thinks it is to her other parents lol.

- stelle likes to toss xiayu in the air. dan heng is not as big of a fan. march im not sure minds, she just loves that xiayu is happy.

- stelle is more of a … hm, a mom who cares a lot but doesn’t smother. likes to let xiayu figure things out on her own, see the world for herself. of course, she always keeps an eye on her, ready to swoop in whenever.

- march is more of an emotional mum. she leads by her heart, as per usual, and xiayu usually goes to her for comfort naturally. ofc she goes to all of them, but if she just wants to be babied, its march she seeks out.

- march and dan heng are usually the ones dressing her, you can tell who did what rather easily.

- dan heng isnt … strict per se (he values xiayu’s autonomy and freedom just as much as he values his own) but he is more worrying than stelle or march. perhaps its because she’s the first new vidyadhara theyve had in literal centuries, or that a fear of the preceptors finding her scares him shitless, or just trying to keep his own fears in line, he keeps her safe the best he knows how — with his tail wrapped around her middle if she wanders too far away.

- (though, xiayu thinks this is hilarious and attempts to run away a lot. it was a curse for her to pick up toddling so quicky)

- she has a raccoon toy that goes with her everywhere lol. his name is caelus 😌

- infinite loop of “goes ask your mom” “go ask your mum” “go ask your dad”

- stelle is called mama, march is mummy, and dan heng is baba in the early years. as xiayu matures it becomes mom, mum and dad.

- auntie himeko and uncle welt! xiayu likes to see the maps and such that himeko works with, and welt usually has a different selection of books than dan heng has. it’s a treat when they visit.

- the four of them live on the luofu until xiayu is about twelve. it’s simply safer to have a baby in a more concrete location, and have a permanent home base. they disembark the astral express for a few years, but promise to return when she gets a little older.

- given they dont stay long. dan heng is far too paranoid about the preceptors doing something terrible to her, and xiayu isn’t well received by the wider vidyadhara community. people find out eventually that she’s a descendant of dan feng, and hell breaks loose. when she comes home crying one day from lessons that her playmates won’t play with her anymore, dan heng blames himself even if his partners tell him not to.

- jing yuan does enjoy her visits when they bring her around. after all, who could say no to such a cute face? (march concurs. dan heng is worried about the pair of them). a beloved baby under the watchful eye of the luofu’s general.

- bailu is just happy to have another baby vidyadhara around, though the concept is a bit foreign.

- xiayu doesnt call the luofu home, which opens up confusion when introducing herself. the express is her home, moreso than somewhere that didnt even truly accept her.

all about trailblazer xiayu:

- xiayu herself is a bright soul with a great deal of trailblazer branded curiosity about the world around her. she just loves to explore, and has a semi decent sense of direction — its rare that she gets truly lost

- if she were playable, she would be nihility / imaginary. five star, obviously.

- her tone is a little bit deeper than that of march’s , probably alongside the timbre of stelle’s.

- star carver was commissioned by dan heng for her, and march and stelle had some input on it as well. theres a three star motif on the hand grip and on the axe blades themselves. its her birthright and beloved axe, though she doesn’t use it much until she boards the astral express as a proper trailblazer when she’s about twenty.

- never a quiet moment with xiayu. she always has something to say or something to share. bit of a yapper depending on the parent shes with. she and march are usually the ones doing something together, while pompom has probably lost a vase or two in the observatory car to xiayu and stelle working w their weapons. she doesnt really do the whole silence thing well, but it is comfortable with her dad while they work on separate things in the archives.

- i do think dan heng tries his best to teach xiayu about her heritage. whether she dislikes the luofu or not, she does still need to know what his kin do. im not sure if shes terribly talented with cloudhymn magic though, considering shes only been to scalegorge a few times with her father.

- xiayu i dont think considers herself vidyadhara. only for her lifespan, but otherwise chooses not to identify with them first. i think the wider community is split on opinion, but most are just in awe of her existence.

- at twenty, xiayu is considered a full trailblazer, and begins accompanying the current passengers on missions. by this time, stelle and march are both around 50ish, so theyre not always in attendance (similar to welt) but when they can be, they are.

- i think her parents are, understandably, a bit protective of xiayu when out and about on missions. they compromise that she always keeps her phone on if she just Has to go wandering around, but otherwise theyre usually together.

- she is not allowed to touch the archive, even as an adult. only for entries not organization lol

- she does get her own room on the express! big window to space, little window rest for her to sit and more often, nap on.

- i think she takes after march the most, easily. but you can see dan heng in her mannerisms, her quiet thinking at times. its stelle you can see when shes in a fight, those swings are trailblazer brand lol. and perhaps, when she goes about collecting trinkets wherever the express has stopped — akin to stelle’s foraging.

- re: vidyadhara: vidyadhara usually live anywhere from 10 days to aeons know how long. for those aboard the xianzhou alliance, likely children remain a bit younger-minded for longer. xiayu has always considered herself an adult when her parents began treating her as one, so her experiences on the luofu are a bit skewed. to put it simply, she is not particularly happy about some things being age restricted to those a hundred years and over.

- primarily, sushang and bailu are usually the ones accompanying her out and about. this helps her get around these restrictions a lot of the time.

- now, all good things usually come to an end. by the time xiayu is barely forty, march and stelle are already in their 70s. its odd, watching your moms age and grow grey hairs and wrinkles while your father looks nearly the same as he has all forty years youve been alive.

- they return to their old home on the luofu for their twilight years, while xiayu remains on the astral express.

- stelle doesn’t live to see xiayu’s fiftieth birthday.

- (contingent on hsr not removing the stellaron from the trailblazer) the stellaron was already corrupting her since before xiayu was even conceived, and age catching up with her rapidly doesn’t help. she passes away relatively quietly in her sleep at 74.

- xiayu was with her, curled up on her side. she won’t ever forget that moment when her mom didnt wake with her.

- the rest of the family is, obviously, devastated. little spider cracks appear then and there in xiayu, trying to stay positive for her parents. arguably not dissimilar to march, but even she has to admit that things won’t quite ever be the same without stelle.

- march goes later. it’s quiet, when she goes. dan heng is the one to discover her this time. around when she’s eighty six. xiayu is barely fifty five.

- this is where i think xiayu’s brand of whimsy comes in. xiayu has always been between worlds, treated like a short lived person by her immediate family, treated like she’s live centuries by her peers. in that disconnect, xiayu’s mental cracks.

- she calls stelle and march as if they were still alive, just waiting on them to pick up their voicemails. she takes pictures for march, sending texts and just ignoring the error messages. after all the signal is probably just bad, right? she keeps stelle’s original jacket to wear and march’s hair clips, after all, theyll come back soon enough.

- dan heng tries his best to cope for the same reasons. hes known that he’d outlive his partners, but hadnt been really thinking about it until theyd moved back to the luofu. he tries to keep xiayu safe the best he can, to the point of occasionally overstepping. shes not allowed to leave into the mara struck areas without sushang or yanqing, shouldnt be away for too many days. even on the express he has her check in with him or with someone who can contact him.

- its a mess. they both love each other to pieces because theyre all the other has left, but dan heng hasn’t exactly helped much to cope with march and stelle being gone. if anything they just keep feeding into each other.

- but for about fifty years, it was truly joyful. after all, caelus still accompanies her on her travels.

Love.

Such a strange, contradicting feeling that is. It’s subtle yet it’s obvious. It creeps up to you the way a vine does on a decrepit wall, yet it hits you straight out of nowhere like a punch you didn’t expect coming. It’s selfless and selfish at the same time. Bits of every emotion ever felt laced with this one feeling.

Others found it stemmed from a sense of destiny, a fate interwoven in the universe. Others figured it was simply a feature built into human beings due to our species being the social type who craved connections with fellow humans.

For me, I have always been the one to side with reason and logic, often siding with the scientific explanations and dismissing the crap that was merely wishful thinking, but when it comes to this… I’m not sure I completely side with either.

Honestly, I don’t even know if love is something I’m able to express properly the way others express it. And the reason? It’s complicated.

My mother was the hopeless romantic, so full of love and care tending to my wellbeing, compensating for the lack my father couldn’t give me due to his work. Outside of family, I never knew how to show love to others, more so when they treat me and my mom like outsiders.

And so I thought, “Since I’m not sure how this works, why should I love someone else when all it does is make me tired in the long run, exhausted from spreading it to assholes who’d taunt and abuse you in return?”

I was sure of my decision. Just as I always was with anything else.

But then you came.

You were everything new and unfamiliar. Someone who I couldn’t understand at first because you were so different from me- passionate, outspoken, lively, and brimmed with so much love. But, just like love itself, you were a walking contradiction.

You had all these positive traits that blended you neatly with the rest, but you were also sassy, sarcastic, passive-aggressive, and assertive which admittedly caught me off guard. One that wasn’t afraid to bite to protect or wouldn't back down without putting up a fight no matter how friendly you were.

If anything, you made me intrigued. Your foreign charm made me want to know you more the way the other students failed to do.

And so, I did what I wanted to do. I allowed you to venture more into my life- being a part of my break times and hours of dismissal, knowing about my Stand, learning about my family’s generational problem with an old enemy, and joining me in the quest to solve it.

Throughout it all, when all I wanted was to know you better, I grew to learn the one thing I thought I couldn’t do… I grew to love you.

I couldn’t accept it at first because it startled me when all of a sudden, I became aware of how my heart raced and my stomach fluttered every time you cast a beaming smile in my direction or whenever you showed me genuine kindness time and time again. Or even when you sass me whenever I tried to throw you off with my usual rudeness.

Your laughter moved me to smile and do the most stupid shit to make you that happy again. Your tears urged me to help you through your pains, to move past my cold reserved shell and engulf you with warmth.

And your confession encouraged me to reciprocate- to acknowledge and let you know how I truly felt about you.

Suddenly, after the bullshit all of us had to go through, all the times we spent with our friends… you became someone more than just a close friend.

Unexpectedly, you became my lover.

And I didn’t know why. I was everything messed up when you met me the first time and time we saw each other again years after our journey. With the first, I was a rude delinquent unable to fit in with the crowd. The second an insomniac college student who was too much of a coward to fight his own trauma.

Yet despite all my flaws, all my constant attempts to flee from my deeply-seated insecurities and fears, you were so stubborn and undyingly loyal that you never gave up on me. You stood by my side, held me when I was at my weakest, and professed that no matter the situation-

You’d stay with me until the end.

Because you loved me just as much as I have loved you for all these years.

And look where we are right now- happily married for 7 years in a cozy villa by the sea, raising our beautiful daughter unconditionally.

In the end, love is unexpected. It isn’t linear nor is it too chaotic. It’s a pinch of fate and a handful of the need to seek intimacy. It comes in many shapes and forms, including one in the shape of my dear spouse.   

I don’t know how to end this rather long journal entry but I guess I can end it with a note to you, in case you’re reading.

For all the bullshit you had to put up with, the amount of patience you had staying with me, the times when you had to power through all these supernatural obstacles… Thank you.

Thank you for seeing me through thick and thin. Thank you for loving me the way I am. Thank you for helping me throughout our time together.

I wish for nothing more than to continue our life as it is right now.

I love you and always will.

minghao having a crush on you had not been something he expected, but how could jeonghan blame him? you were an absolute angel. he'd be very aware of the crush, and minghao would probably be equally as aware that jeonghan knew of his feelings. itd be an unspoken thing that would just exist between them. hannie would likely act up whenever he was around, showing off his affections to you in front of minghao, only to get a scoff and a sarcastic chuckle out of him. both of them would know that both the crush and jeonghan's teasing were harmless, so the situation would be pretty lighthearted.

joshua -

knowing vernon had a crush on you had been a bit of a shock actually. he wouldnt think too much of it, but he'd still feel a bit bad at knowing he had something vernon wanted and couldnt have. vernon would be pretty lowkey about it, but not enough for joshua not to notice. sometimes his cockiness would get the best of him and cause him to be a little extra touchy with you in vernon's presence. he wasnt sure why he did that. maybe he was just a bit territorial without realizing it. his behavior would just be met with a poker face and a grunt of annoyance before vernon exited the scene.

he'd be a little peeved off at knowing mingyu had a crush on you. he loved the guy, but did he have to crush on you of all people? he knew mingyu to be respectful and knew he'd never actually act on his feelings, but now he'd feel an unjustified sense of guilt any time he interacted with you in front of the guy. it wasn't his fault you were so likable, so why did he have to deal with his friend's feelings!! mingyu could likely have any girl he wanted, but you were his and his only.

seokmin -

upon finding out seungcheol had a crush on you, he'd feel really conflicted. he understood where he was coming from. i mean, you were you. he was shocked you didnt have men at your feet at all times, but still, he did not enjoy the thought of other guys liking you like that. he would also feel guilty for some reason. he loved all his friends to death, so depriving seungcheol of being with someone he clearly liked would make him sad. he'd try to bring you around a bit less to avoid showing off his happy relationship to his friend.

seungkwan -

as jun's biggest fan, he felt conflicted at knowing his good friend had a massive thing for you. jun was a sweetheart though, so seungkwan knew his friend would never actually make his crush known (despite being quite obvious about it without realizing). he always found jun to be quite adorable, so he would mostly just be endeared by how flustered he'd get any time you'd interact with him. he'd maybe even go as far as trying to find his friend a match to make sure he got his own person to fawn over (someone who wasnt you for a change).

i know ive written about it a bit before but oh my GOD im messed up thinking of. how william wouldve discovered his powers. because he NEVER got training he just figured it out. and presumably his friends in deadwood wouldve. also been there.

like. ok. lets say your friend goes missing. in the town where that happens a lot and there isnt much to be done, and your friend was one of the people investigating those disappearances. and now hes hone. so you scramble a bit - but he comes back! yknow he looks a bit shaken up and when you Look at him hes a but.. blurrier than he should be, but hes still your friend!

until suddenly you reach out to grab his arm and you go through it. or hes sitting down and falls through the chair, or accidentally walks into pole but doesnt notice because he went through it. you have to do a double take one day because you SWORE he wasnt that tall yesterday, and you look at his feet to see if he got some new shoes, and hes floating. without seeming to even realise. someone startles him one day, and he just fucking pops out of existence.

but, you think, hes still your friend! still the same william wisp, just with some uh.. quirks. yeah. just a little bit sttange, but hey! you live in DEADWOOD. itd be weirder id he was a totally normal person. sure, disappearing into the woods and coming back with ghost powers is... concerning. but hes your friend. one of your best friends. so your little ghosthunting group agree not to freak out over it and try to help him. he doesnt even know what happened to himself, so you all decide to get to the bottom of this. together.

the last power comes a bit later. youre running a little experiment, seeing what all he can do now without anyone around to freak out. someone jokingly asks if he can astral project, and you see him close his eyes for a second. and another. and another. until he fucking drops, like puppet with its strings cut. and left there, where your friend had been standing just a moment before, is... his fucking ghost. glowing a bright blue with spectral flames licking up his form. he opens his eyes, sees the expressions on your faces, looks down. you can see when it clicks for him, what he just did. his eyes widen and he starts hyperventilating (do ghosts need air?) and crouches down to try poke.. himself. but hisnhand goes right through.

and then, like he was never there, the ghost is gone and your friend shoots up from the pile he'd landed in with a gasp. and he. he looks like hes seen a ghost! and you make that little joke to yourself and you just start to laugh, and laugh, and nobody else is laughing but youre doubled over holding back tears and you manage to choke out the joke and he stares at you, eyes still wide, and you think they flash blue for a second but then he joins in on the laughing, until all of you are sat on the ground giggling at absolutely nothing because what the fuck else do you do after that! fuck! your friend is really a ghost! shit!

william takes longer to calm down, you think. its kinda hard to tell, because none of you are really ok after that, but conaidering he got to touch his own corpse, he definitely had it the worst. he describes it as.. something that doesnt fully make sense to you, at the time. maybe not ever. like he suddenly has all this.. energy. like he can feel the souls around him and the fire that fuels them and how it feels like falling and flying all at once. how he never wants to do it again but never wants to stop

so he tries again. and again. not all at once, obviously. a couple days apart, usually. he gets more confidant with it, able to leave and return to his body easier each time. it freaks all of you the FUCK out though, because as soon as william... leaves his body, it just. stops. his breathing, his pulse, all of it. but he seems to enjoy it, at least. you all agree, separately but together, not to tell him how badly it freaks you out. he seems to enjoy exploring these powers, excited to learn everything he can do and how they can be MUCH more effective ghosthunters now

then the attacks start.

or, well, to put it better would be then the attacks become noticeable. youd all seen your fair share of monsters out in the woods, but running away has always served you well when youre out of your depths. until, of course, it doesnt. they start roaming closer to the border at first. nothing too crazy. then.. all of a sudden... as soon as your friend goes into his wisp form (as it had been dubbed), something lunges. william goes to.. push it away, you think? and a stream of blue fire shoots out of his hands. because sure!

and yeah. thats cool at first. it scares the thing off, something youd all sucked at before, and he looks tired yet proud. but the attacks keep coming, and coming, and soon it stops being "one monster when theyre in the woods" and starts being "one monster when theyre literally anywhere". they never seem to attack william directly, but they always run straight to him, and anyone whos around when they find him... isnt always so lucky.

someone puts their foot down, then. no more wisp form. youve pieced together that its clearly not good, for the town OR for your friend, whos taken to wearing makeup pretty mych every day to avoid comments on how tired or sick he looks. you tell him, straight up, how fucking terrifying it is to watch. and he lets it out too - how every time, the rush is more, the pull stronger. what pull he doesnt say, but you can tell its not one youd want him to follow. and he agrees. no more wisp form, unless the situation is dire.

the attacks dont stop, though. he stops leaving the house. they never seemed to go after his parents, you think. just when hes out in the open.

then, one day, hes gone. just like that. his teachers stop asking when he'll be back to school, and when you go to his house to check on him his fatger tells you very firmly that hes been sent away to a boarding school for his safety. you wonder if thats true. there were rumpurs that a man with pink hair was seen in the town recently, and youve heard that they have training academies for heroes on the big cities. but you know youd never be allowed to know if thats true or not.

the attacks stop though. you overhear someone at school talking about some new up and coming heroes called the prime defenders. hand picked by the prime force, they say.

you never get answers from any calls or messages you try sending to your friend after he leaves. but if you and your friends decide to stay a little bit more up to date on the prime defenders, well. who can stop you?

so at some point, stedes gonna be in china. idk how he would end up there, but its before his reunion with ed, which is probably where we pick up that new susan character

ed is absolutely not dealing with the breakup well. hes shown crying (again), states he had a bad night, and the whole “no more booze, no more drugs and no more stede” part implies he absolutely got high and blackout drunk. when did he do this tho? it could have been the night directly after the breakup, which is possible, but what i think is he did thing at 0:26 and went full blackbeard for a day, then had a super-mental-breakdown at night after he did a bunch of piracy. cmon he had it coming dude got abandoned by the first person to value him as he was and after coping well was promptly told by his like oldest friend to act like the media version of himself again and then killed a guy+ and probably more. 

where did the pearls ed is wearing come from? i think hes wearing them at the scene where they raid a wedding and also above picture, idk. he wasnt wearing them in the last appearance in s1 right? i wish for a timeline when did he get those 

anne bonny!! she and someone are here. (lesbians?)maybe stede and ed are reconnecting with the wider pirate community and they accidentally reunite. but thats unlikely considering the “ED!” *slap* part, but that could also be afterwards. Aaaaaaaaaa

what with all the british fancy army dudes and “to is the end of piracy” or something, and now “we have one shot to get out of here”, i think they got captured by the english. blackbeard escaped and broke the act of grace contract, which aint a good look for them. so itd make sense if they were to go after the revenge. now they get captured, as its implied in that part that the crew are breaking out of somewhere.
