Bought new inks and I like them a lot, just a little sad that the top and bottom are a little blue-er than I thought
Inks in order:
Spinnaker (to the right of it is Kraken's Wake to compare) by Birmingham Pens
Electric Blue Spider Lily by Ink Institute
Boilers Steam by Birmingham Pens
Krakens Wake by Birmingham Pens
I did color correct these to be mostly accurate, although the darkest parts of Spinnaker and Kraken's Wake are a bit brighter than shown, and Boiler's Steam is a little darker than shown.
Sorry for my shitty handwriting, I lazily wrote since I was more interested testing the new dip pen
#i wanna buy more sheeny inks like electric blue spider lily#colorverse and wearingeul has some rlly nice inks i rlly wnana pick up in the future#etc

Lucy, the time has come and gone. I feel very solemn, but very, very happy. Jonathan woke a little after the hour, and all was ready, and he sat up in bed, propped up with pillows. He answered his 'I will' firmly and strongly. I could hardly speak; my heart was so full that even those words seemed to choke me. The dear sisters were so kind. Please God, I shall never, never forget them, nor the grave and sweet responsibilities I have taken upon me.

Am I contemplating buying fountain pen ink just because it’s the year of the dragon? Special limited edition fountain pen ink made exclusively for the year of the dragon?
Yes. Yes, I am.

Oooo, here's my take.
It's a world where you can't see one color until you meet your soulmate. If your soulmate dies before you meet them or you never meet them you'll never see the color. If your soulmate dies after you meet them you lose the color.
Danny grows up unable to see blue. Jason grows up unable to see green.
Jason dies before Danny and as he's thrown into the Pits Danny dies and revives across the world.
Jason comes up from the Pits seeing a new color he knows to be green. Danny comes out of the portal with the ability to see blue. The only issue?
They've lost the rest of the colors.
I want to read Dead on main Colorverse. 😔💔
before they die and come back. They only see the world in black and white. but when they die, they see more colors than grey.
Danny sees red.
Jason sees green.
But you can change the color! Maybe they will see more colors after meeting each other.
#dpxdc#dc x dp#dead on main#dp x dc#colorverse#My idea is that both regain the full scope of their colors after they meet#Maybe everytime Danny transforms Jasons vision flickers like a bad TV#Jason doesnt feel like explaining his situation so he pretends nothing's changed á la Haru in 50% off#Tim: Yeah can you grab the red one for me?#Jason: ....#Tim: ..the red screwdriver Jason. Unless....#Jason: No I know colors. Im so good at colors the rainbow asks me for help before it appears in the sky#Tim: Then hand me the red screwdriver#Tim: Jason....this is blue

Seeing @unpretty post her fountain pen inks inspired me to share some of my own. All of the inks except for the DeAtremis are ones I'd purchased at one point or another but hadn't used. One of the Jinhao X750s is fitted with a Tachikawa G nib that I'd spent last night carving the feed down to fit. Sadly, I then discovered that G nibs are not compatible with lefties, so ignore the terrible writing and random splotches of green ink from where the pen tines would catch in the fibers and cause ink to fling everywhere.
I swatched on three papers: HP Premium 24 lb and two Daiso notepads (most Daiso paper is coated and very nice for fountain pens). I tried the two Diamine shimmer inks (Night Sky and Winter Miracle) in both F and M nibs to see how much shimmer was visible in each.
There were a number of surprises. I haven't used Diamine inks very much previously, so I hadn't expected them to be so wet. Some of them feathered even on my Daiso papers. In terms of colors, I thought I'd like Elf much more than I did; it appeared on the more olive end of green in the pictures I saw online but it was more of a Kelly green in real life. A perfect match to the pen I put it in, but not a color I particularly enjoy writing in.
I also liked Twilight a lot more than I thought I would. I'd bought a six-pack of the 15 ml ink bottles because I liked the other colors, so I wasn't expecting much from this. However, it is a really beautiful desaturated bluejean color and reminds me of the ocean right before a storm.
The Colorverse Brane ink was loaded into a pen with a fude nib, which was new for me. I love how I can get anywhere from a fine to a stub-sized line with this nib.
Brane has an intense blue-green shimmer that is very noticeable and contrasts beautifully with the olive green ink in real life, even though it comes out very underwhelming in pictures.
Conversely, in real life Night Sky's silver shimmer seems pretty underwhelming, but it pops in pictures.
Finally, Winter Miracle has an intense blue shimmer that pools almost like a sheen, but I couldn't find any hint of the gold sheen even on the Daiso papers (which are normally really good at showing sheen).

ink swatches up ahead, just using up my samples and having fun Wahoo!
First set: Inks with shimmer, though not all of the ones I have
Ferris Wheel Press Unfettered. It's cute, it's a very light grayish blue with pink shimmer.
Jacques Herbin Emerald of Chivor, a blue-teal ink with gold/green shimmer. The red sheen is my favorite to get on the Midori MD notebooks, I use it in my broad nibbed fountain pens for maximum red sheen.
Colorverse Ham Glistening. A blue ink with purple shimmer. Another favorite of mine. Purple glitter.
Diamine Shimmer Purple Pazzazz. Purple with gold shimmer. Another favorite of mine. Use it in a broad nib because it's prone to clogging my finer nibs. Very shiny. A lot of the shimmer just comes out in it.

Finally getting around to photographing more of my fountain pen collection. Thoughts on these five inks/pens:
Faber-Castell Grip in Silver Glam, filled with Troublemaker Inks Petrichor: This pen is light and pleasant to use, with some fun texture that gives the grip its name. The color is really great, and I would not be opposed to buying it again in different colors, even though it only takes cartridges (I'm more of a converter or eyedropper filled kind of person, but YMMV). Petrichor is an amazingly lovely and subtle color. I've had trouble with mold growth in some of my other Troublemaker inks (which admittedly might have been my fault for filling my pen directly from the bottle), but the Petrichor is still going strong. I really love this ink! It can be hard to get ahold of but is well worth the wait.
TWSBI Eco in Cement Grey, filled with Diamine Shimmertastic in Moon Dust: The TWSBI Eco is a decent starter pen, and over the years I have bought it in several different colors over the years, but I'm starting to phase them out of my collection. There are just so many other pens out there to own! Still, the Eco gets the job done. Moon Dust is really lovely and satisfies my magpie urge for glitter.
Hongdian N7 "Moon Rabbit", filled with Kobe Ink #59 Gion Romance Gray: I LOVE Hongdian's pens! They're not really stocked in most stationery stores, but they're available off eBay if you don't mind a bit of a wait for the shipping to come through. The pen is a piston filler and has a decent heft to it, and the ink flow from the fine nib is nice and wet. I am also a sucker for the moon rabbit designs all over it. I have been really impressed with all of my Kobe inks, even if they are a bit on the pricey side. The Gion Romance Gray dries much lighter than it looks coming wet out of the pen.
Parker IM in Blue Gray, filled with Birmingham Pen Co Kyanite: I shelled out for the IM just to try out a Parker, and while it's a perfectly serviceable pen, they're more expensive and I didn't fall head over heels for this one. So this will probably be my only Parker. Nevertheless, the medium nib isn't too dry or scratchy, which I appreciate. Kyanite on the other hand I am in love with. My dear roommate got me this ink for Christmas a couple years back, and I've really enjoyed it. A standard ink, it's got subtlety and a little bit of flair with the blue tone.
Faber-Castell HEXO in Black, filled with Colorverse 50 States Chi-Town: I really enjoy this big bold nib, and the hexagonal barrel is very friendly to the hand. Would buy this pen again in another color for sure-- I have been very tempted by the dark blue. Chi-Town I got from my beloved Spousewife for my last birthday, as a symbol of our resolve to move to Chicago. We're actually working on making that move a reality now, just trying to sort out a job and an apartment, so it's a sweet memory. The ink is really lush and sparkly, and it looks amazing on the page. It's definitely a pain to clean out of a pen, but that's the price you pay for glitter inks.

Fountain pen ink update, I've collected quite a collection of inks! Unfortunately, I underestimated how many blues I decided to get LOL I still have more on the way as well.
I just bought Machu Picchu by Diamine, Milky Way by Troublemaker, and a sample of Quantum Teal by Birmingham Pens that I'm really excited to try.
I just realised I didn't swatch another purple I had that's also called Milky Way (but it's by Pentonote). I also swatched Classic Green by Diamine but just didn't show it off because I... only have 1 green, but I'll be happy to share if anyones interested.
By the way, all of these swatches (except for the Classic Green) is done by a glass dip pen.
Some notes for similar inks: Boilers Steam by Birmingham Pens and Dragon by Octopus Fluids are pretty much identical, the main difference is that Dragon is a lot more sheenier. Maskara and Simulan by Vinta Inks are also extremely similar, the main difference is that Maskara is a little more warmer, while Simulan is cooler. Bog Sage and Snowfield by Dominant Industry look similar on camera, but Bog Sage shades a lot more, while Snowfield is just lighter (and has glitter).
As for favorite inks, my opinion heavily depends on how it looks when writing with a fountain pen, but I will say I really like Dugong Bughaw by Vinta Inks (my mega sheener ink) and Dragon by Octopus Fluids. I'm really looking forward to using Blueze Hadancourt by Dominant Industry on my pen because It looks really pretty (Yuletide by Diamine as well). Oh! Classic Green too, but I just put that in yesterday so I'll have to do more writing, but I like how it looks (but maybe it's just because it's a change from blue-purples). LASTLY, I really love the Cat swatch by Colorverse, I believe it looks best with dip pen.
As for inks I want to get in the future, the only ink I have in mind that I want to get 100% is Gyeyu Jeongnan by Colorverse. I love snow, and it looks like blood on snow which I think looks really cool. And at least one Wearingeul ink. I almost caved and bought The Great Gatsby for myself, but I heard a lot of reviews that it was underwhelming so I held back on it. I bought 1984 for a friend and red glitter on red ink is crazy. Enki, Wendy Darling, White Rabbit, I am a cat, and The Happy Prince seem like inks I'm interested in, though.
As for new pens. From left to right: Lamy Safari (M), Jinhao Acrylic 82 (M), Monteverde Ritma (Omniflex), Jinhao Tiandao 1935, and Pilot Kakuno (M)
I'm pretty sure I showed off my Lamy Safari before but I'll show it again because I like how it looks and reminds me of a Premier Ball (my fav).
I do have more pens but they're unremarkable. What I do want to talk about is my Monteverde Ritma. I've wanted this thing since the beginning of my proper Fountain Pen journey. I believe it's the most expensive pen I have so far. The capping and posting is magnetic which I absolutely love. The unfortunate part is the Omniflex nib. I never heard of it before and wanted to try it, good fucking god do not ever get this nib, it will not work 95% of the time. You need to be gentle with it otherwise you will permanently spread the tines so far apart that ink wont flow anymore. Just get a medium nib, my Monteverde has been rendered useless for now before I get a JoWo #6 replacement. It's unfortunate because the nib is gorgeous too! It just fucking sucks nut
The other pen I wanted to talk about is the Jinhao Tiandao 1935 (2 pictured under the pen pic). This is my absolute favorite pen. I wasn't sure I was gonna like it because it's the fattest pen I have but I love writing with this thing! Unfortunately, it does leak a lot more by the slit/breather hole of the nib compared to my other pens, but it's cool. I did also get this pen for the design at first. I think my friend finds the guitar clip corny but I like it a lot!!! It's funny as fuck. I might get a red version of this pen just because of how much I love it.
I'll be laying off of the pen collecting after that, I did get a Moonman M2 (not pictured) as my first eyedropper and it's just fine, I like how the ink looks in the barrel though. The only other pen I have in mind that I still want to get is an Opus 88 Demonstrator. I LOVEEE frosted stuff, I wish more pen companies did that style of design. I'm just... still working my way up on whether I am willing to spend 100+ on a pen.
I'll be slowing down a lot with these since I barely used any of the inks since I don't really write outside of work stuff, but also I've become very picky with what I want now, especially since I've made a conscious effort to go for more warmer or green inks because I have a crazy collection of cool colors right now. I'm also picky with inks in general, I really don't like normal ass inks where there's nothing special about it (no sheening or shimmer), but funny enough, I'm also very picky with the sheen was well (I don't like purple/green sheens). Also, I find that a lot of my inks look a little lighter compared to my glass dip pen samples, but I don't know if it's just that most of my pens run dry or what. If that is the case, then that's a little disappointing.
But that's it so far, I'll be happy to do a writing sample of any of the inks if anyone's interested.
EDIT: I just remembered one other thing.
I've wanted to get an ink muddler for a long time but they just do not fucking sell this one (this is by Dominant Industry) in NA for some reason OR they just sell out fast, which is really sad. I need to get one of these because my glass dip pen fucking sucks at swatching with, and I really do not want to waste Q-tips.
#shoutout to the filo inks (vinta inks and troublemaker even tho i havent received my tbmkr ink yet)#oomfs told me that troublemaker is the more popular one over vinta inks which surprised me#since ive heard of vinta first over the other#etc#long post sorry LOL#it was supposed to be short but i got lost in the sauce#long post

Drop the $50 fountain pen stationary sites 🥺
my favourite places to snoop around are cultpens [best ink selection in the UK imo], jetpens, andy's pens [mix of old stock and vintage stuff], the writing desk and thepencompany. gouletpens has a youtube channel that i keep abreast of but i don't like buying from them because they're obsessed with noodler's who i fucking hate. fountain pen network is a great resource but website seems to be down right now. i'm gonna use this as an excuse to waffle now bc i love pens thank you.
at the moment i'm most interested in the TWSBI iris colourways (rainbow anodised metal !!!) [piston fill / vac fill] also their rose gold and jade green eco-t. i like the look and feel of brass pens, there's a few available but the traveler's company one seems to have best reviews atm. kaweco's is a very nice design though. have heard good things about opus88 and i have my eye on the halo. conklin duragraph is a lot less fun looking than most pens i'm into but they are really nice to write with and last forever.
this one [sailor hi-ace neo] is actually very cheap but are apparently the best starter calligraphy pens available right now. ferris wheel press have this gorgeous pen i'm very curious about but i've never tried any of their ink.
my favourite that i own so far is moonman c1. completely impractical for carrying around with me but i insist on doing it anyway. i really like lamy nibs but all the ones i like the look of have irritatingly tiny ink capacity. most of the time i'm just using a set of beat up old wing sun 3008s because you can get 4 for less than 20£ on amazon and as long as you take care of the nibs they're very hardwearing. it's basically the store brand version of a TWSBI diamond so i would recommend those over the 3008 if you can afford it.
some of my favourite inks: l'artisan pastellier [callifolio equinoxe 6 / classic vert lumiere] robert oster [signature blue denim] pilot [iroshizuku yama-budo / tsutstuji / tsukushi] diamine [soft mint / earl grey / writer's blood / monboddo's hat / peach haze] herbin [bleu calanque]
i also desperately still want this colorverse special edition set the colours are soooooo nice [new horizons]. for years you couldn't buy colorverse anywhere in the uk so now that it's available here it's taking immense self-control to not go absolutely batshit.
and honorable mention to this bad boy because she's 140$ but i want her so bad: YSTUDIO classic revolve

Inkmas Day 8: Colorverse Permanent Black
Inkmas Day 8: Colorverse Permanent Black
I had a lengthy discussion with Carol at Luxury Brands about good permanent black inks. As the distributor for both Platinum (known for my beloved Carbon Black ink) and Colorverse, she recommended I try Colorverse Permanent Black ($15 for a 30ml bottle) from the Colorverse Office Series. This collection of inks features those everyday staple inks like standard water soluble blue, black, brown and…
