I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Monkey's paw curls, but I don't particularly like having that many followers.

No u don't get it,,,the Superman reporter trio traditionally have such pleasing color hierarchy together. Superman is in primary colors solidifying his place as the main character. Lois' Purple and Jimmy's Green are secondary colors meant to complement on Supes' colors. It's so easy and satisfying,,, just add some nice non-obtrusive accents to modernize it and you'll be golden

but no Jimmy (the sidelined character) is in more primary colors than Clark is because nothing makes sense in this show

Starting Natlan teaser with promotion of three light skinned characters... yeah, there doesn't seem much hope for Hoyo doing anything different than before. This whole diversity discussion has me tired, I've been already at my fucking limit for so many reasons bc of hoyo, so I'm really just gonna leave the whole discussion to genshin's dickriders white asses and those who genuinely enjoy genshin cause I'm tired as hell and there's just sooo much better in other games and shows. I wont speak for the POC about representation of their cultures (I will have my fair share when they will make Snezhnaya), but what I got to say is I always draw Kaveh about 7-10 shades darker than in canon and he still looks as white as me, though I can never find my foundation shade because Im way too pale. I dont think thats acceptable.

Avantika Says Bridgerton Stars Charithra Chandran & Simone Ashley Made Her Feel “Seen”

The star opened up about Bollywood versus Hollywood and colorism in a new interview.

Avantika was asked about colorism within the Indian film industry and admitted that while it “is primarily one of the biggest reasons why” she’s “definitely always felt uglier in India” than in the U.S., seeing other actors with similar backgrounds, like Chandran and Ashley, achieving international success gave her the push to never settle for less.

“I’m South Indian, and there’s this perception that North Indian women are more beautiful than South Indian women,” Avantika explained. “And the South Indian women who do reach insane levels of success in India are very light-skinned—some have become lighter skinned. So seeing myself represented in Bridgerton season 2’s Charithra Chandran and Simone Ashley—beautiful, dusky skinned women—South Indian women— in Hollywood has made me so, so happy.”

“I have definitely found that the odds are a bit less stacked against me here [in the U.S.] than they are there [in India] because I can’t change my skin color,” she continued. “But I can convince people that I’m talented and that I deserve an opportunity or that I have a voice that needs to be heard.”

While the proud family is good and all and it needed in this time more than ever, it drive me crazy with how penny and her friends are toxic. Like I heard and saw clips about episode 6 of season 2 of the proud family louder and prouder where zoey get ask out by a famous light skin black actor because he prefer white girl and the girls were so mean to zoey. Like they says the only reason noah was into her wa sbecause she white, implying she's not attractive. And they never explain further that that or that he's colorist. But Noah wasn't calling the black girls/ brown girls ugly or being nasty toward them. If the show had shown Noah being colorist toward the group and Zoey saw but did nothing to defend them and still went out with him then that would be different. But no, Noah wasn't means towars them. Plus Penny and Lacienga are light skin and usually pick more often. The episode would had have one of those 2 picks by Noah, but only because Noah like light skin girls and have his be mean to Dijonay because she dark skin and have Suga Mama call them out because she probably experience colorism growing up. I understand the episode was trying to bring up colorism which need to be done more but they did it the wrong way in that episode and depict the girls as just plain mean

The Proud Family is frankly so full of racism and colorism, not to mention giving Penny shitty friends.

It’s just annoying and obnoxious. This is why I don’t watch the show or the reboot anymore. A reboot is supposed to fix what the original didn’t do right but if anything it’s even worse with the toxicity and lack of self-awareness. I just don’t want to sit through that negativity, no matter how funny the show is otherwise. And it’s a shame because there is so few Black girl representation out there and I really did try to enjoy the show. But I just can’t. Sorry. And everything I hear about it just makes me want to watch it less and less. No thanks.

the way colorism is so ingrained in people on drdt twitter is absolutely foul. you literally got mfs lightening up slightly brown characters, tanned and even FAIRSKINNED characters. eden and charles are slightly brown (charles is lighter than eden and eden is slightly ashy) and they're still lightened up. teruko is only very slightly (permanently) tanned and shes so close to being fairskinned than brown, yet even she's lightened up LIKE EVEN HER SKINTONE ISN'T "ENOUGH"? smh im tired like get yall hands off of them... and rose too cuz i dont even wanna know how these people draw rose LMAO
