friendships last forever, right? thats at least what ezrela thought, throughout the entirety of the time her and lara were spending time in the same academy. but never knowing the sacrifices lara would make for her, she gave up.

it was a cool, almost perfect evening, the australian woman was standing outside on the balcony of the shared dormitory. she stared at the sunset while her brain ran with thoughts, some happy while the others were sad.

she was the only one home at the moment, everyone was waiting for their letter from the management company, and as expected, everyone had terrible anxiety. ezrela wanted to debut, she really did but there was another girl that had her attention, lara raj.

see, her and lara had gotten close over the last year, forming a bond that could never be broken no matter who tried. while ezrela got lost in her thoughts, almost completely dissociating from reality, her computer chimed, making her turn her head, staring at the back of her open laptop.

she sighed and carefully walked back in the house, scared of what could be on her screen. ezrela carefully opened her emails and she saw she had an email from their management.

she was too scared to open the email, honestly, she didn't open it for a while. as time passed, the girls who lived with her would ask if she recieved her email but she'd just lie and say she didn't.

that worked until her and lara were out one day, as they planned just a week prior, when lara had brought it up. she was happy and giggly, and ezrela smiled at her. "did you get in?" lara asked, but ezrela just sighed.

lara's brows furrowed, "you didn't get your email?", the younger woman continued to ask about it until ezrea just began walking off. lara followed behind her, "ezzie?" lara called out for her, "did you make it, lara?" and lara stopped in her tracks, making the older look at her.

the way ezrela was talking told lara more than she needed to know, "i did, but.. what about you?" and ezrela just shook her head, indicating that she didn't make it. lara looked at her friend, a worried expression plastered on her face, trying to see if she can peak a joke somewhere, maybe see the hint of a smile or smirk or anything but, there was nothing.

"wait, you're joking, right?" lara asked, walking to her friend, closer to her. "no, it's real lara, i'm happy you made it" she said, "ezzie, no, we were supposed to make it together, remember?" — “that’s what we said from the beginning.”

was time continued to pass, soon it was time for ezrela to begin packing her bags along with the other girls who didn’t make it, just the previous night they all had a celebration to congratulate the girls who made it in and lara stayed next to ezrela all night.

she didn’t wanna let her go. she couldn’t let her go. — everywhere ezrela went, lara followed her. it was almost like when you get a new puppy and they’re really attached to you, so they never leave your side.

“lara, go have fun. it’s your party, yours and the girls. enjoy your night, please” ezrela begged the taller woman but she just stood there, standing next to her, well more so crouched on the floor with ezrela.

she shook her head, “no, because i don’t want you to leave. you’re leaving tomorrow, right?” lara clarified and ezrela nodded, with a small smile. the younger woman just sighed, “that's why i’m spending time with you tonight.”

"no, no lara. please, enjoy your night" and lara just pulled the girl into a hug, and ezrela responded to the hug, “i'm not leaving your side, no matter what" and lara meant that.

when the next morning, ezrela was packing when she got a knock on the door, no one else went to answer it, so she went to answer it, the she saw lara. "why are you here?" she asked, and lara just smiled, "don't worry about that part"

and ezrela just continued to pack, lara walked into the older's room and saw that she had the poloaroids they took together hanging around the area she slept, almost like everynight when she went to sleep, she could see them together and every silly picture they took together.

lara sighed while seeing these, heart began to slowly break, she watched while ezrela packed, she didn't have the same light in her eyes anymore. she was happy for lara, for all thegrls don't get her wrong, she just didn't want to have to leave her friend.

"ezzie!" lara called to the older, making her look up and lara had shown her a picture that had taken together, "yeah, i kept that one in my wallet sometimes" making her smile, it was more of a bitter one though.

after the australian woman finished packing, she gave lara a hug goodbye, but lara held her so tight, even after she let go. she nuzzeld her neck into ezrela's shoulder, "i don't wanna let go", she could feel lara begining to cry.

she cooed to the younger girl while she soothed her, "lara, it'll be okay" and lara shook her head, "no, it won't. you'll be gone" and ezrela just nodded, pulling her off of her body and looked lara in her eyes, "you're gonna make history, you're gonna be famous. you'll get to do what you've been wanting to do all your life"

"it's not worth it without you though" lara said, looking ezrela in her eyes, and the older just smiled at her, "it'll be worth it because i'll be cheering you on every second of the day" and lara nodded, she smiled at ezrela for the last time for a long time.

after this interaction, ezrela was gone, and overtime the production company began telling the girls the way their content would go, explaining that they wouldn't make their official debut until yoonchae finished school.

lara would attend these meetings, but her brain was always elsewhere. she couldn't focus on it no matter how much she tried, she would ask their manager for a meeting just between them two and that was granted.

lara expressed how she felt, and their manager just let her talk and nodded along until she requsted withdrawl from the group. the manager shook their head, asking what hppned, if she changed her mind but lara said it was something much more personal than that.

and they granted her wish, but they never put out an announcement on the matter, giving lara however long she needed before making the official decision. lara took a sudden flight, where you may ask? where ever ezrela was in the world.

she surprised the older woman by being at her doorstep some random morning, ezrela automatically hugging her and breaking down in her arms. it took ezrela a long time to recover after seeing lara that morning, even though lara was right next her, on her bed.

"i missed you" lara softly whispered while her head rest on ezrela's shoulder, "i missed you too. aren't you guys debuting soon?" and lara nodded, "yeah, them" which confused ezrela.

"what do you mean, 'them'?" and lara just shushed her. "lara no wait, please, you didn't leave the group, right?" and lara just smiled at her. "i made a decision, and i'm sticking to it" and ezrela shook her head, "lara no, please" and lara wouldn't budge.

"why?" ezrela finally gave and asked, "because ezzie, we were gonna make it together. the idea of being a famous popstar is amazing, i love it but we promised each other" and ezrela remebered that, "but you could've represented for us, for all the brown girls out there"

"and i still can, i aways can and will. just, we aren't rushing to make the debut so i wanted to spend more time with you." lara admitted, "i'm not worth all of that, don't you guys have to move in and get used to each other and-" lara just shushed her.

"stop, please?" lara asked, after that the pair began to catch up and just as fast as lara came the sky began to darken, ezrela asked where lara had planned to stay, if she had somewhere or anything internally she was hoping that would reply no, so they would have the chance of spending the night together and she didn't.

ezrela took care of lara for the night, but made the younger girl promise that she'd be heading back to la and talk to the manager and say she was staying.
