the sun rose slowly, while the outside breeze slowly crept through the slightly opened window in the redhead's room. this morning was different from the rest, they wouldn't have to jump up and rush to get dressed, lara woke up that morning to the sight of her beautiful girlfreind, manon was facing the opposite directions, still sleeping. lara's arms were snaked around the older's waist, as she planted small kisses on the sleeping girl's back.

manon gently shifted in her sleep, mumbling small things as she woke up. she turned around, facing a smiling lara. "good morning pretty girl" lara said gently, before kissing manon, "good morning baby", lara pulled manon into a cuddle, their legs getting intertwined.

manon's head was against lara's chest, while lara was on her phone, she scrolled through any music she could play to start their day. lara and manon always cherished these days, being able to take their time and enjoy each other's prescence outside of the working scene.

after their slow morning, lara went to take a shower while manon made the bed, it wasn't a long or crazy process, so she was done quickly, going into the next bathroom and taking one herself. after lara finished, she went downstairs and began making a light breakfast for her and manon. —

"it felt like nothing could ever go wrong, right?" lara thought to herself while she flipped through the polaroids and pictures from when her and manon were together. she turned her screen off, placing her phone face down and laid on her bed in pure silence.

lara was left with her thoughts for the night, megan was in another room on a weverse live with the members, so lara didn't really have any noise in her background, let alone something to keep her thoughts busy. she's recently been training to stay off her phone more, but it was getting harder as the seconds passed.

everything reminded her of the woman who was just a few doors away from her, all she could think about was if this was affecting her as she was aftecting her, she never had doubts about manon or her love for her but this was different.

she couldn't handle the thoughts anymore and texted manon — but right when she started, manon had already texted her. multiple times. lara saw manon's text bubble was still there, and she didn't know how long it had already been there.

she read the texts from manon, even one being a voice note. but from the way manon was texting, lara couldn't handle opening the voice notes, she just read the texts and it slowed manon down just a bit but she was still double and triple texting if lara's bubbles weren't there.

lara walked out of hers and megan's shared room, walking into manon's and daniela's room, seeing the brunette was curled into a ball with her comfort hat on, facing the wall with her phone in her hands. "manon..?" lara said softly, making her turn around.

manon opened her mouth to try to speak but to no avail, lara walked closer to the older and sat beside her on the bed. lara placed her hand on manon's shoulder, making the older scoot up and place her head on lara's lap.

they stayed in silence for a bit, kind of finding the vibe of their conversation but it wasn't awkward, it was far from that honestly. they were still a comfort for one another, they would still go to each other for everything, no matter what it was, even if the brunette wanted to talk about a new movie she was interested in, they'd watch it, but it was harder now.

majority of their relationship was based off of them liking each other and now they had broken up, so really the only solace the girls had was the other girls but as things go, they never wanted to be a burden. sophia knew of the breakup before the other girls found out, really the other three only found out during a argument between the redhead and brunette. —

you could hear their muffled yells from the room, lara opening the door trying to just walk away and you could hear manon screaming “we only broke up because of you! because it was “too much” and “too hard” for you!” you could hear the pain in the brunettes voice while she screamed at the love of her life.

lara turned around, opening her mouth to say something but her voice wouldn’t come out, she couldn’t speak. she felt like she had a frog in her throat, the longer she stayed there the more that she wanted to cry her eyes out.

manon just looked at the red haired woman, dried tears on her cheek, "forget it" and manon sniffeld. she walked to the door and closed it behind lara, but now they were sitting inside of the very bedroom cuddiling.

"lara?" you could hear manon say, her voice kinda there but kinda not, "yeah?" the red haired woman replied, "i still liove you, is that bad?" and lara sighed, picking the brunette up by her cheeks gently. 


"that's great, okay? i do still love you too, we just can't be together." and manon nodded, lara kissed manon for the first time in months, and the brunette finally felt that peace she had been searching for ever since that exact day.

she returned the kiss, and after a small while lara broke off, "i better go" and manon nodded, getting off of lara and sighing. "we can't do this anymore, right?" manon asked, and lara nodded, "yeah" and she walked out of the room, closing their door behind her.

lara had a lump in her throat again, she loved manon with her entire being and here she was breaking the heart of the same girl who she claimed to love with her entire being. manon was in her room and sighed, she felt so incomplete now that her and lara weren't able to talk as freely as they used to.

it wasn't like they were restricted but they're exes now and one thing could lead to another and god forbids they sleep together again, once feelings are revealed things won't go back to how they used to be.

this distancing wasn’t really working out though, of course they were in a whole girl group, a global girl group who had thousands, maybe even millions of fans.

they rarely were ever in the same lives so that was never a worry but when it came to full group content, that became more of an issue.

for example, they were so oddly touching during filming but when it came to behind the scenes, they were almost never together or around one another.

it got so weird that even their manager pointed it out, asking what was going on between them. he tried minding his business because they’re gonna argue and fight, it was normal but the energy was too much and the tension between them was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

but their leader would always cover for them, saying “oh they just had a little argument before coming here” and he’d take it but when it continued for weeks, it became a clear issue.

overtime, they learned to co-exist though which put them where they are now. lara always wanted to be able to just go into the older’s room and cuddle with her like they used to but it wasn’t the same anymore.
