I mean I'd say he's absolutely following royal elven precedent going on a perilous, reckless and spontaneous but well intentioned quest! The job of elven royalty seems to be being a popular figurehead among their people and also putting themselves on the frontlines facing nearly every threat their kingdom chooses to engage with personally! Is there a high mortality rate among elven royals? Admittedly, yes (not entirely unrelated to the often miserable decisions they have to pick between). This does not make Legolas' position as diplomat to Rivendell less polite as a royal turning up in person to deliver the message still means something (even if the trek across varyingly dangerous lands is pretty standard for elves, particularly royalty).

But honestly even if Legolas doesn't have siblings it absolutely tracks he's wandering around as just some elf whilst being royalty (his father is immortal, it'll be fine probably plus popular vote can decide a new king in a pinch as it did for Oropher): I mean just look at Finrod in First Age Beleriand for a similar example of being approachable and making friends being a great networking technique!

(Legolas could well have a living mother and multiple siblings as far as we know in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, he may not be Thranduil's heir, I personally enjoy the idea of him having more than one living family member)

The human kingdoms being so strict among themselves about hierarchies because it's more present history tracks just as much as them being baffled by Legolas' everything given the scarce cultural contact Mirkwood has with other populations. Elves also seem to have less of a class divide given they're all immortal and presumably it's harder to gatekeep wealth and meeting one's basic needs when you're all essentially stuck with each other for an eternity, a low birth rate and many human life times worth of years to acquire useful skills needed to get by relatively self sufficiently.

Legolas is charming in his eccentricities though, I agree. The majority silvan mirkwood/greenwood population don't seem to stand on much formal ceremony.

I think that one of the funniest things about Legolas (especially in the movies) is that he’s literally the only Elvish prince in all of Middle-Earth but everyone treats him like he’s just a random guy. And he ACTS like just a random guy as well which makes it even better

Okay I’m so curious about your Jade Shackle WIPS! Are those original stories?

The Jade Shackle is an Avatar Kyoshi AU story that I've been slowly working on. (It's been on total pause since a few months before the Kyoshi Era event so I could shift focus). The working summary: Fifteen years. With the Avatar finally found, mistakes are made in haste: Kyoshi’s teenage brothers are dead at the hands of Jianzhu, the Gravedigger of Zhulu Pass. Now she is helplessly in the grasp of a man who will go to any lengths to make a proper Avatar out of a daofei brat. Held in place by fear and the shackles that bind her, Kyoshi must find her way out of from under his thumb while protecting herself, new honorable allies, and her family.

In which Jianzhu is still a bastard, and Kyoshi’s parents are not only alive but pissed.

So Aldebaran is a bit of an oddball. No remaining documentation of the OS mentions his existence.

He isn't a real module per se, but rather a blended state of Rigel and Vega in control at the same time. As a result of the their contradictory access models, the Operating System doesn't really know what to do with them and gives them... Superuser/root access. In other words the OS defaults into granting them absolute control over it, including crucial system files.

Combine that with the emotional instability the resulting person is constantly experiencing thanks to equally contradictory personalities, and you can imagine how much can go wrong very easily.

Say hello to the royal entertainer, Jester Cat!

Ancient Egg N113: An otherworldly artifact in the shape of an egg, coated in the grime of countless centuries. A small inscription reads "N113".

Mystic Egg N113: An otherworldly egg with a multicolored shell. Signs of life appear to come from inside.. Chance to dodge enemies.

Jester Cat: Court jester for the Emperor from ye old Relic days. One bad joke away from getting axed. Chance to dodge enemies.

He's an Ancient Egg unit unlocked after defeating Mining Epic 10 times. Like all Anicient Eggs, his first and second forms are useless. Jester Cat's true form requires 5 Epic Catfruit and 5 Epic Behemoth Stones.

Jester Cat is a meatshield with a 40% chance to dodge all enemies including traitless. His cooldown is 3 seconds and he costs 215 cents. He has the same speed as Manic Eraser. Chance to dodge Behemoths has been raised to 50%

Jester Cat can get to where he needs to fast with high speed and decent spamability. However his health and damage is terrible and if his dodge does not work, he will die instantly. He can dodge almost every enemy in the game, so don't rule him out. His increased rate to dodge Behemoths is his main selling point and can stand against their support in stages as well. All in all, silly guy with silly abilities that may help you in your many silly adventures.

Personality-wise, Jester Cat is absolute shit at being funny. He can do acrobatics, juggle sticks on fire and walk tight-ropes across dangerous chasms for fun, but never any jokes. He has a 'cousin', Clown Cat that he likes to pull pranks with. Frog Cat is his friend! Everytime he says hello, she hops around happily. He likes annoying Raquet Cat, Exorcist Cat, Surgeon Cat and Catarzan.

Also he was Emperor Cat's entertainer! The king lives in fear of this now yassified jester. He had different attire while working for the emperor before he got egg'd. May have entertained the young princess once..

I've seen your sneak peeks, and the feeling is totally mutual! I'm so looking forward to next week~ I'll definitely be posting them to ao3 under my username, Coleyoly. There's nothing there yet, since these will be the first fics that I've (ever) posted. I might also post them here on tumblr, but I haven't fully decided.
