You know I kind of want to see a verbal confrontation between TF One Megatron and one of the miners who weren’t part of the quartet, like Jazz or something. Someone who knew D-16, but wasn’t there for what happened to the group on the surface, only being told the important information about Sentinel and such

Because the last any of them saw D was before the Iacon 5000, when he was still their normal co-worker. Now the next time they see him, only a couple days later, he’s violently murdering their former ruler (even if they did just learn he’s a complete monster and a traitor), shooting and dropping his best friend into a bottomless pit, and now trying to basically commit terrorism and violent revolution. They only saw the beginning and end, they have no clue how he got to this point

I want to see one of them ask him just what the hell happened on the surface to turn him from responsible, dependable, friendly D-16 to this violent crazy revolutionary. What could have possibly happened to make him so different in the span of only a couple days?

I could also see some of them maybe being scared on principle to be around Megatron. One part because he’s become so different they can’t really process this enormous change, to the point of fear, choosing to avoid him to avoid thinking about how he used to be their friend, and say Megatron is instead some new crazy guy unrelated to D, at least when they aren’t seeing him. But another part of the fear could also be that he killed and is now driven to kill Orion Pax, the bot he cared about more than anything, the last bot they’d think he’d ever harm. So what are the chances any of the rest of them have that he won’t hurt them? Sure he hates Optimus for more personal reasons, but in their minds, if Orion wasn’t safe, none of them are

Maybe they all just have different reactions to the Megatron situation, and honestly I want to see them. I want to know how they feel about his sudden change. And I’d also be down to see if some other former miners agree with him and go to join him, and what the correlation there is between that and how well they knew D-16. Like are they following him out of his ideals, not knowing the guy, or are they following him because they trusted D-16, and figure he must have a good reason for acting the way he is; they weren’t there on the surface to know otherwise. It just would be really interesting to see

But I also want that confrontation between Megatron and that other miner I mentioned up top. Let’s stick with Jazz, since he seems like he’d have a bigger role in any future things, and on one of the last days they saw D-16, he and Orion had just saved Jazz’s life while breaking protocol, which I don’t think he’d forget for either bot

I both want it so we can see the miners’ perspective on D-16’s turn, but also because I want to know how Megatron would react. Jazz wasn’t there on the surface, he wasn’t one of the group trying to talk him out of his revenge, he didn’t do anything to Megatron (or this is how he sees it all in his mind), this is someone he thinks he’s trying to help calling him out. But he also wasn’t there, he didn’t experience what Megatron did, he just doesn’t understand it. Would that make him just brush off Jazz as not understanding, or make him more compelled to convince Jazz that he’s right, since Jazz is only disagreeing with him because he’s just confused and doesn’t know enough? Regardless of what Megatron thinks, Jazz probably is confused, but I imagine he’d stick with Optimus ultimately; he just wants to know what happened to his friend, and maybe even snap him out of this whole state he’s in, being an outside perspective that he isn’t entirely biased against

TFOne Dratchet AU doodles!

Because cogless Ratchet and cogless Drift are kinda young, they are a bit more open with their affection but also very clumsy about it.

Ratchet is reserved, because he always has half his brain processor running on medbay duty and assessing damages so it seems like he is zoning out and not paying attention when he already has your medical report planned out and medicine ready to be administered. He has a much bigger cavity where his T-cog should be compared to others of his frame type. Reasons unknown, but he is kinda bothered by it. His hands are smaller, more delicate than others, which makes him perfect for medical duty even as a cogless. He was quite taken by Drift's unusually colored optics. Before Drift started annoying pursuing him and appearing in the medibay he was a little lonely especially when he noticed how the other miners formed pairs to be with and hang out. In a way he was envious of Orion Pax and D-16, because a doctor's work was always solitary.

Drift is affectionate and handsy because he knows what he wants and intrusive thoughts often win when it comes to Ratchet. He has some ventilation system troubles ever since he came online which results in dizzy episodes and panic attacks and no one really has any idea what might be causing it. It also causes him to heat up easily. Whenever he puts his servos on some paint, he makes murals in abandoned corridors or alleys. His paintings always fills him with nostalgic feelings even though he has no memories of a life before the Primes where alive... He has Gasket to keep him company in his team, but he can feel an unknown gravitation towards Ratchet - whether it be for the care the mech has been showing him, or his soft voice, he isn't sure. But as much as he adores Ratchet's caring attitude, he really hates when the doctor isn't taking care of his own needs.

They have a good relationship right until Sentinel is killed and they get their cogs back...

...together with memories of a life before the fall of the Primes.

Do you think in tfone mecha experienced frame dysphoria due to the whole deal in the movie

we want to talk about how this generic miner in Transformers One is clearly a homage to the trans lesbian geologist (heh) adventurer Lug from IDW & the Transformers TTRPG. No direct confirmation as of yet but between this and Arcee having her cheek guard armor among many other things in the film that draw on the comics we definitely think that at least an animator drew inspiration from her.

Her chest is very distinctive from most miners in One, she has light blue indents, just like Lug, whereas most miners have a solid single chest color before getting cogs. Another distinctive unique to Lug feature is the gray blocky shoulders with red indents near the torso. The color layout is largely similar in other more common respects. Gray forearms and ankles, at least in part red upper arms, mostly red helm (the shape in the case of the One generic is in common with Not Chromia ie the generic with the Chromia color palette who isn't Chromia the racer). Of particular note is the ridged curve of her waist

Hey, I'm glad you liked it! Poor Dee's really going through it. 4th chapter is still being worked on, but here! Have some bonus content of poor sick D-16. This time, after hours:

::Digestive tank purge, initiated::

D-16 gags as he comes back online, startled out of recharge but body moving in its own, stumbling out of his slot and clamping one servo over his mouth. Something in his abdomen heaves and he feels hot bile hit the back of his throat. Tears blur his vision and he searches desperately for a waste bin, but it's too late: his upper body jerks and he stumbles to his knees over a drain on the floor, one palm planting shakily on the cold concrete before half-digested energon comes sloshing past his lips.

He moans, miserable, tears dripping solemnly down his cheeks. He gags again, violently, sobbing as it makes his whole upper body jerk. His midsection throbs, his esophageal tubing burns. He hunches over, vents whirring loudly, pressing his overly-hot forehelm to the cold ground.

"D-16?"

He whimpers pathetically and turns his face, squinting against the fluorescent backlight. "D... Doctor...? H'oh-!" He gags again and turns to purge, coughing out a sheet of clear, burning sludge.

"I'm here," Ratchet is kneeling at his side immediately, one servo on his back and the other coming to touch his forehelm, holding his head up. "Primus, kid. You're burning up." 4 degrees outside of what could be considered the normal parameters. Any hotter and he'd probably have to be shut away in a medsuite for emergency care.

Exhausted, D-16 slumps over, heavily leaning on the medic. His vents are shuddering, and his whole body is trembling with exhaustion. He sniffles again, tears still threading down his cheeks. "...it hurts," he admits in a tiny, rasping voice. His optics glaze over and he starts to sob into Ratchet's lap. "I feel... s-so bad...!"

The medic's spark aches, because there's really nothing he can do. Fever reducers and extra coolant haven't been working, antibiotics aren't working, he hasn't been able to rest and sleep it off the way he desperately needs to, and none of his tools are calibrated for identifying specific viral strains and whipping up the chemical compound of a cure. Not like the ones in the real hospitals. When it comes to illness, all he can do is guess and estimate and diagnose to the best of his ability, and treat them accordingly. But nothing's been working and D-16 just keeps getting sicker. The only silver lining is that he doesn't seem to be contagious, as no one else has come down with his mystery ailment.

Defeated, Ratchet rubs soothing circles on his back while Dee sobs into his lap. "I know, kid... I- I know. We- I'm sorry, we're still trying to figure it out." He and First Aid and Sugarcoat were up to their ears in half-finished repairs and a huge queue of mecha in need of their constant attention because of the new shift rules. There just wasn't time to figure out a treatment for one mech's fevers and stubbornly upset tanks. Dee makes a miserable snuffling sound and starts coughing, prompting Ratchet to drag him into a sitting position to decompress his aeration systems.

"...come on," he stands up and slides his hands under D-16's arms, pulling him to stand. The younger mech's legs are shaking, knees knocking together. His optics are unfocused, and he wobbles dangerously. "You gonna biff it?"

"D... Dunno."

"Alright. Hang tight, I'll getcha a chair."

The wheelchairs are antiquated, all of them rusty and dusty and old, but they're enough to support a miner's weight and get them where they need to go. Ratchet pushes him to one of the medsuites and effortlessly lifts him onto the berth, telling him to lie down.

"What're you...?"

"I'm doing inventory," shift doesn't start for another two megacycles, but the work needs to be done. "You're gonna sleep. Lying flat should help the nausea some." He'd have liked to also get him on an energon drip, as his constant purging surely had his gauges in the red, but energon was in short supply right now. Emergency transfusions only, and unless a mech was at risk of deactivating, it wasn't considered an emergency.

D-16 doesn't look convinced, cuz he's really not supposed to be in here. Ratchet tuts at him, says, "Doctor's orders." and throws a weighted sheet over him to seal the deal. To his relief, Dee falls back into recharge some ten kliks later, and is able to get a bit more uninterrupted rest. He feels awful when he has to shake the silver mech awake for the work cycle, but inciting the wrath of their overseers by being late would only make his fragile health worse. Thankfully, Dee is able to walk (more of a hobble, but at least he was upright), and Ratchet resolves to figure out something to help him.

since we didn't really get bee being significantly younger than everyone else in tfone i think we should get funky with ages and make ultra magnus the baby of the squad. mostly because i keep thinking about optimus getting really attached to him, basically taking him in as a little brother and not realizing why exactly he found it so easy to love the kid until he goes and does something stupid and magnus starts scolding him for breaking protocol and being a total dumbass trying to do things on his own. doesn't he know they gotta have each other's backs?

D-16/Megatron

One of the tallest from the miner gang. When D-16 finally gets his cog, be ready for a constant tease from him. I feel like cogless D-16 is the most respectful one, he understands how hard it is for you to fit in a society where physical differences play a huge role in how others would treat you. So every time you get into trouble, he will pick you up and like «my apologies!» before quickly walking away since he does NOT want to be punched for the second time this day. He is a total sweetheart, but please, don't be like Orion.

Cogged D-16 is more bold. He is happy he can finally transform, and he desperately wants to test the limits of his own powers. You might walk next to Orion and Elita-1 one moment, and then he quickly grabs you from behind, placing on his shoulder with a «here, let me help you» which is kinda sweet if you think about it.

He also has that tiny overprotective side in him, which is borders with possessiveness. If Orion tries to ask D-16 about it, he will get defensive. What is wrong with him, helping his fellow bot? He never means to disrespect you, his intentions are pure, it's just happens that he is taller and stronger than you. How ironic.

I still believe that, as Megatron, he never treats you as someone weak and unable to protect yourself. He admits that you're skilled, you are a capable warrior if necessary, but he'd rather keep you close than let you wander around others. His touch is careful, his whole servo covers most of your frame, and he loves it, but he's not sure about the others. He doesn't trust them with you. If other decepticons try to mumble even the slightest insult towards your size and alt-mode, he will act as if they dare to insult Megatron himself. [reader is hot enough to replace you whenever I choose, Starscream!]

Orion Pax/Optimus Prime

Cogless Orion is a huge troublemaker, and he is reckless, despite his good intentions. He constantly wants to prove himself, to Sentinel, to others and to you. He can see you struggle with everyday life, and he wants it to make it better for you. Orion often brings you some tiny energon cubes he stole during one of his secret visits to the archives, or maybe it's some pretty shiny thing he gets you because he knows you love it. When he sees your optics almost sparkling in amazement when he holds a trading card of Micronus Prime and you immediately go to reach it, he will be like «what's the magic wooord~?» playfully making you try and reach for it. He's not a bully, usually he quickly quits it and gives you it anyway, but he just adores that cute, tiny smile on your face.

The height difference between you and Orion once he gets his cog is even more noticeable. But after everything, there are noticeable changes in his behavior. He sees you from a little different perspective (no pun intended), and he practically looses that playful and teasing side of his now that he has many responsibilities on his shoulders.

If Megatron is a bot who prefers to hold you close to himself, standing on his shoulder, Optimus is the one who would kneel so he can look into your optics. Now that he's a Prime, a real, kind and caring one, it might feel a little different for you because with Sentinel everyone was used to looking up at him. What Prime would stand on his knees for a small bot for you? You're dear to him no matter what size you are, and he wants you to know that you're important to him.

^ a tiny addition, but he's the bot who probably would like having you on top of his alt-mode, a tiny bot on top of a truck. It gives more mobility during a fight, and he can be sure you're safe next to him. a cute sight for autobots, but a dangerous combo on the battlefield for others!

Elita-1

Elita doesn't really care if you're short or tall, she is more occupied with her own thoughts about how to deal with today's mission and get her promotion. If you do your job well and listen to her orders without being a trouble, she also has no trouble with you. She's not rude, just a busy woman who is thinking about her career, you know? But if you somehow are friends with her, she can spare a minute or two to have some rest.

I feel like she shares the overprotective trait with D-16 if you're much smaller compared to many other bots. Mines are already dangerous for everyone, so she has to keep her optics on you 24/7 so you wouldn't get in trouble, for example, if you accidentally got stuck by a rock or lost somewhere. She explains it like «I don't want to lose my chances of promotion because of you» but it is only a partially true.

Cogged Elita is as bossy and commanding as before, but now she's more open about her feelings about you. You two have some similarities between your alt-modes, you're both cybertronian motorcycles after all. << but the size difference between her and you are a little funny tbf. She might give you the same treatment as Orion with her «I am better than you» talk, but she quickly adds all your other unique abilities. You're fast, brave and strong despite your size, despite often being teased by others, you never give up and continue to fight. She's inspired, and she makes sure you know that she adores you for it. But when someone else tries to pick on you, she will punch them straight into their face.

B-127

You two are both short. Congratulations! But somehow...he's not the shortest on the squad? Bee doesn't see anything wrong with you being small, if anything, he will try to make it look like it's the coolest thing he has ever seen. He is just happy to have new friends, especially the ones who can talk back to him! like «what do you mean you can transform into a motorcycle? that's like super, mega, ultra AWESOME! can you drive while standing on your one wheel? can you do some cool trick??» he's your biggest fan.

B-127 is really touchy with you, mainly because he had never talked with other bots for cycles while being stuck on level 50. He likes to hug you, pull closer to himself, and nuzzle his cheek against your helm, sometimes even doing it without realizing it because he has so much energy and affection he has to release, and you're just around him...it's hard not to give you some love.

This guy probably makes you his victim of loooong, long talks. He will keep you close to himself, and you just HAVE to listen to him talking about Steve, how he struggles to pick a new nickname for himself, and how happy he is to have a cog and finally work for the government...! Bee is very enthusiastic, it doesn't hurt at all, but he has this death grip around your frame that you have no chance but to listen to him. He probably doesn't realize that he holds you, maybe he's unconsciously a little scared of being left all alone.

Sentinel Prime

That man is a bastard. And a huge prick. If he chooses to let you have your own cog, that's probably for his own amusement. I mean, with or without a cog, what difference would it make for him? If anything, he might accidentally kick or step on you if he wasn't careful enough, so consider yourself lucky because he was in a good mood to spare your life. Maybe with a cog, you would be more useful for him?

Personally, see him as a bot who would have you on his shoulder/palm while posing for some photo just because he wants to look like a very respectful guy. Look at him, some tiny two-wheeler and THE Sentinel Prime? Ohh he's so kind and caring for all of his citizens! But he just does this for a boost of confidence and support from other bots. Whatever helps him rule over Iacon and get energon faster?

In private, if you have a closer relationship with him, I can definitely see him loving your small frame the most. Other bots I mentioned before pay a little to no attention to it, for Sentinel this is a thing that makes him feel even more powerful.

He's careful around you, his touch is gentle and soothing, but in his mind, it's tempting and hot; one wrong move, and he can easily damage you, but he never does it because he is in control. You're lucky he likes you or just finds you amusing to keep around. He's a control freak.

^ definitely into holding you on his lap if he has a chance. you can mind your own business until he randomly picks you up and places you where he wants it.

Dakrwing

He is a jerk too, but at least he doesn't hide it. It really depends if you just got your cog recently or if you were with it all your life. If you were a cogless miner before, Darkwing has no mercy for you. He needs his work done and fast, after all, it is an order from Sentinel and he doesn't care if it's too hard for you to hold mining equipment that is almost as big as you. Do your job or he will report you, there's no other expectation. << but he might pick on you more than on anyone else just because of your size. Poor you.

If you were born with your cog and one of the elite cybertronians, might be a racer too, I can see him being softer. As a cogged bot you have a lot of free time, and most bots usually spend their time racing or minding their own business but let's say, you are popular enough to be noticed by him, who happens to be your biggest fan. If he spots you walking through the streets of Iacon he will awkwardly approach, holding his poster of you, shyly asking for you to sign it. His height and voice in intimidating but he acts like a total fanboy around you.

Airachnid

The spider lady is scary, intimidating and a little freaky. Most of the time she's really quiet next to you, whenever you are in the same room, listening Sentinel yapping about something unimportant as usual, you will notice her glancing at you. At first you might think it was an accident, the second one as just awkward, the third time she would not look away once you notice her staring. she has that little pleased smirk on her face whenever she sees you.

Airachnid is probably the second one of the tallest bots here. she's taller than Sentinel (but I'm not sure if she's bigger than Megatron with Megatronus cog), her spider-like appearance makes most bots uncomfortable and it will surprise her if you weren't at least a little scared of her. she's not the one to openly tell you that she enjoys the height difference between you and her but her silent interest tells you everything. her optics always focused on you and no matter how small and stealthy you are, you have no chance to make a move past her.

Ever since TFO I’ve fallen in love with Elita-One I love her sm and according to ME everyone else loves her too // also here are my thoughts about my weird TF continuity that I’m making up rn made up of combination of TFO and TFA

So the TFO movie events still happen except that B-127 is a sparkling. Orion becomes Optimus Prime and with the help of Elita-One and the newly formed Autobots, they rebuild Cybertronian society.

B-127, along with other sparklings such as Cliffjumper, are sent to the newly formed Autobot Academy. Initially it was to have them learn basic knowledge (like our real-world education system), but as the Decepticons, Quintessons, and other threats continue to threaten the Autobots it eventually becomes an Autobot Boot Camp to train soldiers, spies, scouts, etc.

After orbital cycles/years of not seeing OP or Elita-One, B-127 finally graduates from the academy as a scout and immediately tries to become OP’s personal scout. He’s still a yapper (which got him bullied) but now that he’s a teen (idk the TF equivalent to that) he’s gotten a bit more bratty and overconfident to make up for his short stature.

While B-127 was in the academy, OP has continued to lead the Autobots to form a more fair society for all. He continually runs into Megatron throughout the war, but still has hopes of one day changing his mind. OP feels the pressure of being the leader constantly and as such hopes to assign the rank of Prime (or something similar to it) to other bots, such as Ultra Magnus and Rodimus (who’s still training to become one).

Elita-One becomes the leader of the Elite Guard (named after her + a separate entity) that goes into battle side-by-side with OP. She’s seen as one of the greatest soldiers the Autobots have and everyone, especially academy students, wants to be part of the Elite Guard. Between helping OP, fighting battles, leading the Elite Guard, and training new recruits, she has a bit of a chip off her shoulder, but always means well.

Side Notes for Arcee and Hot Rod:

- Arcee and Hot Rod were teens when the events of TFO occurred, with Arcee being a cogless miner and Hot Rod being a cogged racer

- They have both graduated from the Autobot Boot Camp and are now soldiers

- Arcee is a new recruit for the Elite Guard and has a bit of a hero-crush on Elita-One; her bubbly personality and endless energy is seen as a welcome change for the Elite Guard and she gets along with everyone

- Hot Rod was initially also going to the Elite Guard, but his prowess on the battlefield as well as his natural leadership skills caught OP’s attention and he’s now being personally tutored by Ultra Magnus

- Became friends with B-127 and adopted him as a sort of little brother, as they’re glad to not be the youngest anymore and to show off to someone who’s easily impressed

Losing his tail, would be a great loss, for balance, for fighting, for his daily life. Yes, one can repair it with the right parts, but such things took time. He wondered if Megatron spoke of experience, of missing a part of one's self. Rumors, were always vague, not to be trusted. Darkfang, enjoyed living in the present, escaping the past, be it his own or someone elses. So he didn't question him further, other than the glance of curious optics and EM field that carried an emotion of 'understanding'.

Megatron gave back his freedom, in a way, he'd never been this free, under anyone. Free, and not alone. His golden finials flicked, tail followed Megatron's retreating servo, to coil and wrap tightly around it. His frame lifted up to a crouched position on his pedes. Servos reaching to press along his leader's chassis and helm placed at the larger Mech's level.

"Oh, I know. I look forward to finding out each one and what makes you tick until you're the one making me squirm, in, hmm, many ways. Good and bad." He mused and leaned to brush his nasal ridge of the side of his helm. "I can only promise you, I won't try to take anything important from you, as tempting as it sounds to feel that warm canon of yours pressed against me."

“ there is nothing more dreadful, for someone to take a vital part of you. something that was meant to belong and be a part of you. “ he said absently. memories of his days as a cogless miner returned. he couldn't do that to darkfang. not really. at least not unprovoked.

after a whole life of being treated as inferior and replaceable it was quite an odd feeling being some sort of an authority. having power over someone was dangerous and overwhelming. intoxicating in the right scenarios. but there was a limit. if he pushed too far, he could see a grief glimpse of himself in the other, before everything was unveiled. small. weak. powerless.

megatron let out a vent and retired his servo from the snake. the optics of the other shone brightly, he stared at that melted gold trying to came back to the present.

despite his attitude, darkfang stayed true to his word, and never even tried to usurp him or betray his trust like others. instead, he seemed to like being destructive towards the autobots and only mischievous to the decepticons.

SPECIFICALLY,,, D-16's strength and being able to lift up the absolute HUGE rock double times his size and probably more to help save Jazz while Orion Pax is pulling him out. Like, yeah--there was the jetpack, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE??? RAW STRENGTH ALONE.

D-16 is so strong and I've definitely mentioned this before in a post but since it got absolutely purged off the face of the Earth since my accidental deactivation, I will say it again now. D-16 is SO strong, even before his ascension to being Megatron.

People have mentioned this before and ofc I will address it, one of the main parts of D-16's strengths that we do get to see is him catching Darkwing's fist, marking of his fast reflexes and the fact that he caught Darkwing's fist, DARKWING--who is literally double the size of the cogless miner that D-16 is and yet still catches it, albeit with a tremble here and there but still he caught that fist before it would hit Orion. Also Orion getting donked too, even with just a semi-light punch from D-16, or at least the softest it could get to be believable. Then there's also D-16 punching straight ROCKS throughout their escape from the unstable energon mine, he PAVED a pathway for Orion Pax and Jazz to get out... AND OH MY GOD DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE CONCEPT ART WHERE D-16 CANONICALLY WORKS OUT BASICALLY WHERE HE WAS PUSHING DENTS INTO A STEEL PUNCHING BAG.

D-16 is just STRONG, and I admire it sm. That's why he is the TOP of his sector I'd imagine like his strength just didn't come out of absolute no where or the fact that his strength came from receiving his cog, no. He had it since the start and having the t-cog allowed him to access his full potential and strength and GRHHRGHGR GRHRHR (proceeds to flail and foam at the mouth)

Ok- so- don't know much of transformer lore- just watched TFO

so my hc for this is just for this version of him, but i'd like to think in his earlier days, he would retreat into his cogless form to cope with whatever is overwhelming him,

in a way, this sorta makes him feel like it's less pressure- or he may even miss a few aspects of his time as just a miner

he'd eventually stop doing this as time passes and he's more comfortable with his new role,
