on the special occasion of finally completing 3 years here is a lil thank you post. I started this blog back in Jan 2020 at the same time I started bujoing and decided to share my progress here as I was very inspired by the whole community and I am still touched by how welcoming and sweet everyone was to me. I have met some [hopefully] lifelong friends, had some of the best interactions and got to know the kindest people here.
Tumblr always felt like a home to me, there’s a strange comfort here, and even after 3 years the community hasn't changed much. Of course, I miss some of my beloved that aren't super active lately but just going to their accounts and revisiting the memories feels so intimate. I have sure made great memories here so just a little thank you to everyone who has ever interacted or sent me kind words with or without anon, everyone who has sent me moon pictures saying “it reminds me of you” have checked on me during exam season or left encouraging tags on reblogs, younger tumblrinas who said they want to journal like me, i truly love all of you! My askbox is always open [now with anons shjsjs] for you
if I could I'd write each of you handwritten letters and teleport there to meet even once but for now, just know that I love and adore you <3

15.05 // pictures from the weekend which was generally nice! got complimented for my hair and style at work, went to a Vernissage with my parents, the weather was great. Then I hit a new low when my usual migraine evolved and now it also gives me vertigo? Big L, I slept 13 hours, and when my roommate came home she handed me @coffeecupstudyblr's snail mail! I got kitty stickers!!! It made my day! I'm having the sneaking suspicion I really need to invest into some good letter paper....

1st March: What are your goals for this month? What's something you're looking forward to?
My goals for this month are to develop a proper and regular schedule, not skip meals or sleep because of assignments in college (which currently isn't a problem right now bc I'm living at home but might become a problem when I live in college), start working out regularly, submit all assignments early. Something I'm looking forward to is finally going to college in person!!!! I've been there once while we were dropping my brother off like 5 or sth years ago but that was a different part of the uni since he was in the aeronautical branch. I would love to see the architecture block and the studios and equipment and all of that! Also one of my best friends is going to be in the medical college at the University campus so I'll get to meet her there!!!!
Gosh its been just one week and we've already got so many assignments send help lmao. But yeah!! Day 1 of the march productivity challenge! I could participate in the February challenge very well because between getting covid, recovering, and then going to my cousin's marriage I legit did not get time to update anything lol. It was really good to see so many people participate in it though!!! I'm glad to see people enjoyed it and I hope everyone will enjoy participating in this month's challenge as well!!

Day 13 - Tell us the most eye-opening book you’ve read.
My favorite author of all time is Ruta Sepetys and I’m constantly re-reading her work. I don’t read that much anymore but I’m hoping to read This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone after a friend hyped it up.

Winter Reading Challenge book recommendations ❆
we've compiled 4 thrilling (haha) books to fit the thriller or true crime prompt; as always, more recs are waiting for you beneath the cut!
The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe
Being held hostage in a bank robbery together with her ex-boyfriend and new girlfriend isn't exactly what Nora had planned for her morning but things get even worse when she has no choice but to put the skills she's learned from her mother to good use. (blurb by @upside-down-uni)
The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg
Returning to her hometown, writer Erica Falck finds a community on the brink of tragedy. The death of her childhood friend, Alex, is just the beginning. The author concieves a book about Alex to make sense of her own past in the town and her interest steadily grows into an obsession. Simultaneously, local detective Patrik Hedstrom is following his own suspicions about the case; it is only when they start working together that the truth begins to emerge about a small town with a deeply disturbing past.
In the Woods by Tana French
French’s first book in the Dublin murder squad series and I promise you, you’ll be hooked on her writing afterwards. Detective Ryan and his partner Maddox need to investigate the murder of a young girl. No one expects that the case will also help Ryan uncover a case from his past. This is a novel that you won’t be able to put down. I loved the relationship between the two detectives as well. For anyone who likes a good crime novel with interesting characters, this is the book for you. (blurb by @fluencylevelfrench)
Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
How do you play the game when the cards are stacked against you? When Ace, an anonymous texter, begins exposing Niveus Private Academy students’ secrets, Devon & Chiamaka have to put a stop to it, before the texts destroy their future. A fast-paced, mystery novel with a page-turning plot twist makes for an amazing social commentary read that will have you questioning every character. Seriously, go pick this one up. (blurb by @coffeecupstudyblr)
as always, find more recs beneath the cut:
Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
How to Kill Your Family - Bella Mackie
Cut & Run - Madeleine Urban, Abigail Roux
Abandoned - Cody McFadyen
Devil’s Star - Jo Nesbø
Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators - Ronan Farrow
The Woman Who Fooled The World: Belle Gibson’s Cancer Con, and the Darkness at the Heart of the Wellness Industry - Beau Donelly, Nick Toscano
The Woman Who Wasn't There: The True Story of an Incredible Deception - Robin Fisher, Angelo Guglielmo Jr.

hello everyone, as promised, we’ve prepared some book recs for our Summer Reading Challenge prompts :)
for each prompt, we’re bringing 4 books into the spotlight, as well as giving you some additional recs because we simply couldn’t settle for just four great reads!
join the challenge on storygraph
Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
How do you play the game when the cards are stacked against you? When Ace, an anonymous texter, begins exposing Niveus Private Academy students’ secrets, Devon & Chiamaka have to put a stop to it, before the texts destroy their future. A fast-paced, mystery novel with a page-turning plot twist makes for an amazing social commentary read that will have you questioning every character. (review brought to you by our lovely Kenny @coffeecupstudyblr) > this read has: lgbtq+ main characters of color, mystery, tension
If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio
As one of seven young actors studying Shakespeare at an elite arts college, Oliver and his friends play the same roles onstage and off: hero, villain, tyrant, temptress, ingenue, extra. But when the casting changes, and the secondary characters usurp the stars, the plays spill dangerously over into life, and one of them is found dead. The rest face their greatest acting challenge yet: convincing the police, and themselves, that they are blameless. > this read has: murder, mystery, devotion, intrigue
The Maidens by Alex Michaelides
At the elite St. Christopher’s College in Cambridge, the past and the present collide when a student is murdered. Alumna Mariana, a group therapist, returns to her university where she begins to investigate the enigmatic Greek Tragedy professor. As she becomes increasingly enmeshed in a web of intrigue, Mariana’s obsession begins to grow more and more… (review brought to you by our lovely Theo @spoonieacademia) > this read has: a secret society, mystery, high stakes
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Galaxy “Alex” Stern is the most unlikely member of Yale’s freshman class. Having made some bad decisions, she's the sole survivor of a horrific, unsolved multiple homicide at just twenty years old. Somehow, she is offered a second chance: to attend one of the world’s most elite universities on a full ride. What’s the catch, and why her? Tasked with monitoring the activities of Yale’s secret societies, she dives into the world of money, power, and intrigue. But their occult activities turn out to be more sinister and more extraordinary than any paranoid imagination might conceive. > this read has: the macabre, mystery, supernatural forces (! check CWs before reading)
Extra recs below the cut :
More books with a dark academia premise: • Dead Poets Society by N.H. Kleinbaum • A Study in Charlotte by B. Cavallaro • Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison • The Furies by K. Lowe
