Schlatt: *very much enjoying being in his dictator era, doesn't do much of the real work and instead make big and fancy declarations and pick bones with Niki just for the fun of being an asshole. Wasted half of the time*

Tubbo: *going through the whole traitor situation, very anxious most of the time, spends half of his time sabotaging on purpose for Pogtopia and the other half genuinely trying to do his work but dyslexia strikes and it ends up kinda sabotaged anyway, edgy teen phase and overthinking everything*

The Writers: no you don't understand! Lae'zel is super young and grew up in a strict environment where loyalty to a central figure is mandatory and critical thinking and independence are discouraged. FORD & COLLINS WEDDING WEEKEND

Day 1 & 2 - Bachelorette Party & Wedding Rehearsal + Welcome dinner

Day 1

The time that I've prayed for has finally come - WEDDING WEEKEND!

Our family and friends have made their way into Oasis Springs for our wedding weekend and I couldn't be more excited! I've spent the last few weeks getting the last details done with for this weekend and for it to be finally happening makes my heart sing. The first official event was my bachelorette party on thursday, followed by the wedding rehearsal and welcome dinner for our families on friday, and the wedding on saturday. My girls got my this wonderful 'Bride' sash to wear for the weekend's festivities until the wedding, I've had my fill of white outfits in the past couple of months and I can't wait to cap it off with my wedding dress to end the weekend.

A few weeks before the wedding, my bridal party and I did a little weekend away as a little pre-bachelorette event before the main one before the wedding. My hair and makeup artist are based in the next town over, so my girls and I headed there for a quick weekend getaway so I could do a hair and makeup trial and spend some time with my bridal party. We had a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant on night one, and once we had done my hair and makeup trial we spent a day at the spa in this wonderful resort. One of the bridal shower gifts I got was a bunch of coupons to use at the spa, which we gladly put to good use. Lorilee and Priscilla are both postpartum after having their babies, so they made sure to get the special massage that the spa offers to mothers who have recently given birth.

The Lord knew what he was doing when he blessed me with my little sister Lyndsay. She's been my right hand woman for this whole process, and has really stepped into the role of Maid of Honour. We've spent many a night planning, laughing, and even crying as we really took in my last few weeks that turned into my last few days at home.

I love these girls so much! For my bachelorette party I asked all the girls to wear pink, and we spent the day together. We started with a brunch at my parents house, the girls were able to see my childhood home, then we did a hymn sing before we went to a friend's place where we played all these cute 'newlywed' games before sitting down for a meal. Macie and one of my aunts volunteered to make the meal for us, having such great family reminds me how greatly I am blessed.

I'm so thankful that Adalynn and Kyleigh made the effort to travel down here for the wedding with their children, as well as being pregnant. They've come and taken the role of the older sisters that I didn't have growing up, and for that I'm very grateful. That's not to say I'm forgetting the other sisters, they've all made such sacrifices for us all to be able to be together for the wedding. The only people missing are Beckett and Mandy, but their responsibilities in the mission field come first, we'll celebrate with them at Harvestfest.

My bridal party have really gone above and beyond for me, as much as I would've liked to have a 20 person bridal party, I had to be realistic in my wants. My sister Lyndsay is my maid of honour, she's been there for me for this whole process and not living with her will definitely be an adjustment. Lorilee and I have known each other since we were young girls and essentially grew up together and without her meeting and marrying Charles, I would've not met Parker when I did. Annette and I have gotten quite close during my visits to Newcrest, and has become a confidant of mine. Priscilla lives in Oasis Springs so we've been able to bond due to our proximity to one another, she's taken me in and treated me like family since we met and I couldn't thank her enough. My bachelorette party ended that afternoon to allow the ladies to go off and be with their families again for the evening, and to prepare for the rehearsal on the next day.

Day 2

Day 2 was the wedding rehearsal and the welcome dinner that evening. The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding, and I can only hope that it stays just as beautiful for the wedding day. Parker's family rented out a restaurant close to the ceremony space for the welcome dinner, so we headed there afterwards. During dinner, both of our parents made speeches, as well as some of our siblings and a few friends. There was lots of prayer of course, and afterwards we headed home so we could have an early night and get loads of rest for the wedding.

you know, jack's talking rn about how he kind of logged back onto the dsmp as a joke but unexpectedly got hit with a wave of nostalgia for all the time he spent on the server and ykw. the thing that surprised me the most with dream smp's ending is that a lot of the content creators that i felt like really enjoyed the roleplaying never did anything like that again. jack is one of them, but fundy was incorporating his coding into the lore and during the l'manburg era especially seemed really invested in his character. schlatt also seemed to get really into it when he was playing the big bad villain. and fucking karl jacobs? with tftsmp??? it was always kind of wild to me that more of them didnt end up joining other similar projects

I've been musing a bit on that one post that went around during the recent holiday season, to which someone added their family tradition of Present Practice. My god! Imagine actually telling kids what behavior is expected, instead of expecting them to intuit it and punish them when they get it wrong!!

Separate post because this topic is a little tangential to that, but I think it does a great job of unearthing one of our very well-hidden internal biases, which goes as follows:

Good people don't need to be taught.

A good person (in this case, a good child) shouldn't need to be told to be gracious and grateful when given a gift. A good child should just know that a holiday tradition of gift-giving is a social performance to strengthen family bonds and that personal preference or genuine reactions are secondary to that performance. A good child should just know how to value gifts, how to express thanks, how to praise and compliment. No caretakers in their lives should need to put any effort into instructing or modeling these things.

Good people should just know how to be good. If they were really Ontologically Good, their inherent goodness would simply intuitively guide them to correct behaviors. If they can't do that on their own, in a vacuum, in the absence of cues, that's a sign of their inherent moral lack.

...Which all sounds very reasonable and obvious, and surely a mistake that only fundie christian families would make! Except that people in the social justice sphere also do this all the time. It's not anybody's job to educate you. It's 2024, how do you not know this already? If you were a Good Person, you wouldn't need to be taught. You would simply intuit the correct philosophies and gravitate to them according to your superior internal moral compass.

If you were a Good Person, you would already know that everything you were taught by your family and/or background was wrong. You should have rejected it already. You should have cut off your family, your heritage, everything about your childhood and upbringing that was Bad and Wrong. You should have known it was all a lie.

If you were a Good Person, you should be able to find the correct way yourself. You should be able to seek out the proper educational resources, and distinguish them from bad advice leading you astray, and make sense of them all according to your own internal moral code.

If you were a Good Person, you would have found your way by the proper, dignified, official channels, not by reading a comic or watching anime. You shouldn't need entertainment or art to guide you. You should just know.

And if someone can't do these things on their own, in a vacuum, in the absence of cues, that's a sign of their inherent moral lack.

A notification came up in my activity that gave me pause. It’s not the first. I have been very vigilant with my notifs recently, knowing that right-wing actors are taking advantage of increased tensions and disaffection to sow bigotry. The reason this notif caught my attention is that the account’s PFP looks like Pepe the Frog.

Pepe the frog is one of many popular right-wing memes. It is often used to proliferate racist and antisemitic concepts, ideas, themes, stereotypes, and iconography in easily consumable bites on online venues such as 4chan, 8chan, and Reddit. You can read more about Right Wing Dog Whistles Here.

This person liked a mutual’s post I reblogged. The post is about how the IDF utilizes racial (aryan) stereotypes in its propaganda, so I was immediately skeptical.

Awh fuck, indeed. My gut “instinct” was right! Here we can see a member of an anti-feminist movement. A movement whose most notable members have claimed that wealthy Jews (see: George Soros) and Jewish doctors are “transing” children. A movement that idolizes a woman whose IP helped reintroduce blood libel to and keep alive several insidious antisemitic stereotypes in the 21st century. And a movement that utilizes gender-essentialism inspired by 20th century racial beauty standards and race science (like skull size and hip width) to police people’s bodies and self-expression.

And they follow me, one of those big, scary trannies they hate.

So let’s say that, in theory, a girl wanted to write a MCYT Hunger Games AU. And in that same vein of theory, that said girl needed help, allegedly, assigning districts and roles to characters. Who would be from what district? Who’s from the Capitol? Who are the mentors and who are the tributes? Which crafters are past victors that we’d see in the Quarter Quell? Who’s our President Snow?

Any crafter from any SMP (Hermitcraft, life series, DSMP, OGs, etc) are on the table as long as their role makes the tiniest bit of sense. Go nuts
