This is a bit late, but count it as a WIP Wednesday! This is the second art done for FAIAP, chapter 2 which you can read here! Thanks to Demi @hushed-chorus for all the patience and work cocreating this story! :)

This chapter is a bit angsty, but in a good way, I think! Is a preamble for amazing things :D please check it out!

my co-author wrote this one line in our book in one of his chapters. October 2023 if I remember correctly. He was attempting to write banter between two characters, and wrote this one line he thinks is brilliantly, stupendously funny. Like that man forgets the names of main characters but still remembers that line he wrote because he loves it so much.

I hate that line. It keeps me up at night it's so cringey. It's so stilted and dumb and I hate it with so much of my heart and soul, leaving not enough heart left for me to actually tell him how much I hate it.

Now, I have been presented with a rare opportunity: we divided up the chapters for scene editing, and I claimed the chapter with the Line. So, I can either quietly cut it, or go with my original, more long term plan of leaving it in there and letting someone else read it so that a third party can tell him how much it sucks.

I just hate that line so much.

So, I'm working on chapter 3 of my Beetlejuice fanfic and realizing I am seriously out of my depth writing his character. I think part of why he appeals to me is because he's nothing like me. He does not give a flying fuck about how his actions impact others. For better or worse, he does what he wants without worrying about how others will feel. While, taking it to the extent he does for an actual person would obviously not be a good thing, for someone like me, who is on the other end is the spectrum and who is CONSTANTLY worrying about how my actions affect others, that mentality is super appealing.

Any who, all that to see if there is anyone who might be interested in and willing to either check my writing and give me suggestions or even be a coauthor and write the Beetlejuice parts, I would be super appreciative. I'm going to keep working on my own, but figured it couldn't hurt to check.

A ‘what if’ scenario of LMK on what would happen if Sun Wukong managed to take the last ring from Mei and become the host to the Eternal Flames that are capable of burning to whole world to ashes.

‘Just a little bit longer... Everything is ready... Just have to get that last ring out of Mei.’ a male in a bright yellow and black hoodie thought sunglasses covering his eyes while looking out the window of the train car, a dark gold nearly ginger tail swaying behind him in contemplation his shaded golden eyes looking at each of his companions. Two teens, a boy and a girl, a male pig demon chef, a male river demon that was also a therapist, and the last of their group a male human food critic and their resident historian. ‘This is for the best Wukong... Once we get to the mountain it will mark the beginning of the end for Lady Bone Demon and her so called game.’ The immortal being thought while the trail ride continued in silence. Something Wukong was rather thank full for than being interrogated by Pigsy aka the pig demon that did not like him.

The human, Tang, cleared his throat after prying his eyes from the window in worry. “So uh Mr. King Sir. I didn't want to rush you or anything-” Tang began before being cut off by the teenage boy holding three large rings in his arms.

“I don't mind rushing him! We have all three of the rings how do we use them to make LBD go boom?!” the kid asked getting straight to the point before falling over as the train car rocked after hitting a bump.

‘The cub sure knows how to get straight to the point with me... By the gods I've really become attached to this kid if I'm already thinking of him as my cub... Guess that goes for Mei too...’ Wukong thought glancing at the girl before looking away before they could lock eyes. “The only way to reforge the fire is at the summit of the mountain we are currently heading for. Before that, Mei can I speak with you in the next car?” Wukong asked the young girl.

The dragon heiress blinked at this odd request. “Sure thing Monkey King!” Mei chirped trying to keep a positive attitude.

The dark golden Simion gave a thankful smile to the girl. “We’ll be back in a few minutes. I think Mei might have gotten hit with a spell of some sort. Has some energy in her that needs to be taken out.” Wukong explained to the group.

Pigsy gave him a scowl while the kid-Mk- jumped to his feet. “Mei are you feeling alright!?!” Mk asked zipping around the green-clad girl.

“I’m fine Mk... Actually, I have been having some weird discomfort in my chest after our last encounter with Macaque.” Mei admitted with a shrug.

“Let's get whatever is causing you pain out while we have the time,” Wukong advised making his way to the end of the train car to cross over into the next car that was empty of people. Something Wukong was internally happy about.

hey, just as a btw, a fic or a series not uploading for a year doesn't mean its abandoned.

Sometimes the authors have shit going on, other wips, or! it just needs to sit and marinate for a bit. Collecting all the flavor and details it wouldn't have otherwise.

it's okay for updates to take a while.

And if you're impatient? Why not leave a nice comment telling us (the author(s)) what you love about the fic or series? say that you love it, and are "waiting eagerly for the next chapter" and/or that you "would love to see x or y happen because it would mean-"

This could be a new fandom vibe because of all the "i have to drop this while people are still interested" energy, but its not universal, and i don't believe its good for the fandom ecosystem.

Have patience, and have compassion. Remember that authors are human and these fics? (or comics, animatics, whatever) This is our art. We care about it just as much, if not more than you.

I was wondering, why are Casey and Cassandra in Japan?

Watsonian reason: Someone needed to deal with the key and the foot. the turtles and splinter got wrecked by the krang fight. April is staying to help with their recovery and she still has college. So the Casey's are the only people that can drop everything and go to japan

Plus family bonding trip!

Also we got the idea from ell.

Doylist reason: Didn't want to write them. They, as characters, wouldn't contribute in any way outside of the very end of the last arc. So they'd just be bloat. They're more useful outside the narrative than in it.

Also the original draft had casey jr be straight up non-existant.

me when i get an email about my fic being listed as inspiration… but it’s the fic for a fandom i was so embarrassed about writing for i made a separate fucking ao3 account to post it on… and the inspiration fic is someone making art for every chapter of the fic… which is 20 chapters long…

what fucking timeline did i end up in god

at some point i might make my current ao3 account a coauthor to the fic just so i don’t have to keep switching accounts. i’m less embarrassed about the fandom nowadays but instead i’m now embarrassed about how embarrassed i was. feels very circular
