🎉 The (Late) New Years 🎉

Shadow Milk is definately very delighted when you want to spend New Year's Eve with him, mostly because he knows that you'll be his even after the ball drops.

After all, who else would you rather be intertwined with other than the beastly jester himself?

Shadow Milk uses strings to wrap around your waist and pull you in close for the last kiss of the year.

After that will be the biggest party the jester has ever created! A party is needed for New Years, after all!

Even so, Shadow Milk still spends most of his time with you, giving you kisses all over and clinging onto you eagerly. Why would he ever want to leave the side of his doll?

He still hasn't let go of you, even when the party comes to an end.

Fancypants, of course, also holds a party on New Year's Eve, although it is something much more upper-class and luxurious, with sparkling water, the best foods chefs can offer, and even a front-row seat to a classy fireworks show.

Even with all of the sparkles and flashes, his eyes are still on his most expensive thing yet: you.

Fancypants is at your every beck and call, making sure everything is perfect for you on this night. After all, you deserve the world!

Starlo feels his heart skip a beat when you decide to spend New Years Eve with him, and he's one clingy cowboy for the night, smothering you with kisses and reminding you how much he loves you.

There's nothing too fancy for when it becomes the New Years, simply spending the night with Starlo, keeping him close, and wrapping each other up with sweet nothings.

Hornet doesn't exactly celebrate New Year's Eve or New Years, considering her society is much different than ours, but she does have something to show you when you decide to spend the night with her.

Instead of sparkling juice or loud fireworks, the night sky is lit up with soft fireflies that dance in coordinated precision, creating a quiet ballet for you and her to admire until the sun begins to rise.

When the morning sun hits your faces, Hornet bows to you and asks for you to be her first duel for the new year. It would be an honor to be her first fight to be with you, after all.

Lear has made many extravagant and luxurious preparations to this day. He's a prince, after all, he has to make all of these spectacular things happen... and yet his eyes stay on you for the night, and he can't pull his gaze away ever since you chose to spend your New Years with him.

Even as the cheers of trainers and Pokemon surround the night, Lear's mind is on you, wondering if this will be the year he could make you his royalty.

Lear doesn't want to outwardly show that to you of course- he's not blushing, it's just the light that's playing tricks on you!

Bill is both ecstatic and disappointed about the New Years. Ecstatic since his disciple chose to spend the time with him, but also disappointed since he was told that he couldn't plunge the world into complete chaos. But fine, if that's what you wanted...

...Although maybe he could bend time a little to spend more of it with you? Just a bit?

You're the one who chose him to be with, it's not his fault time decided not to start the New Years yet! Although Bill might have to answer to Time Baby later.

It's at least worth it for you, just so he could have you close and see you smile...

Maybe when the night does end, you can figure out how badly a triangle can actually blush.

Let me make myself abundantly clear. I do not like The Joker™ in every comic ever. Far from it.

I like Cesar Romero's '66 Joker

Mark Hamill's Justice League Action Joker

Kevin Michael Richardson's 2004 Joker

Anthony Ingruber's John Doe from Telltale's Batman

and Lego Joker from both the games (Christopher Corey Smith)

and the movie (Zach Galifianakis)

That's pretty much it.

Barring a few select moments here and there, I don't particularly care for most of the others. TAS? No thank you. Dark Knight? Nah. Killing Joke!? Get the pepper spray.

It's obvious to me that this character has slowly but surely become a vector for cheap and lazy shock value. An excuse to showcase the most revolting gorey shit imaginable and act like that says something about the character. But what I want to remind everyone is the fact that someone had to create that. Human beings, presumably ordinary people like you and I, had to think about it, write it, draw it, ink it, color it in, and print it. The dirty little secret behind all the shock and edge is he's not bad, he's just drawn that way by people working in a woefully malfunctioning machine that we call the comics industry. I think it says much more about DC as a company that they saw nothing wrong with attaching themselves to that disgusting flavor of content. This is not to say that I think that Joker shouldn't do horror or be scary, but the fact that there is such an accumulated overabundance of it, the fact that it's the only thing they seem to rely on with this clown, means that it's not just needlessly depraved, it's banal.

The "joke" has worn out its welcome, and now that the audience knows the punchline already, nobody's laughing anymore.

The so-called agent of chaos has become predictable, and I'm glad to see that more people are noticing. I prefer Jokers who aren't written that way, who can get a genuine laugh out of the audience as opposed to trying and failing to make them gag. Romero swearing by all that's funny, 2004's Joker playing the flute, Lego Joker sharing a braincell with Lego Harley, John's love of selfies, JLA's Joker disguising himself in drag just to go on a tour with NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE! Hilarious!

I want that kind of Joker back. If there's anything that all my favorites have proven, it's that "canon" is not this rigid immutable thing that must be followed or else. This character and so many others can be so much more than that. As for the gay subtext and all that jazz, I've got a lot more to say about that in a later post, but for now I stand by what I said.

We need to make Joker fun again.

After the fall of the Vanilla Kingdom, the new Ancient was appointed to create a new one, which he dubbed the Gingerlands, a place that combined both sky and land with reddish brown mountains and classical architecture inspired by the previous kingdom before it.

Gingerdough may appear as simply an old king, but he's a lot stronger than people give him credit for! With his intense aura of bravery embedded by his Light of Bravery soul jam, he harbors a strength barely any cookie can rival, and his "cane" is a sharpened candy cane sword crafted from one he used to have from his childhood.

Very fatherly to his subjects and tries to inspire the younger cookies to achieve what they want to! After all, isn't that how his journey almost started?

Keeps in touch a lot with his fellow Ancients. After all, they all go back a very long time! Sometimes he'll even visit over to their Kingdoms to see how they're doing!

In the back of his castle is a garden-like cemetery, not only grieving the friends he has lost in his immortality but also his mentor who disappeared that fateful day...

They're so angry Nettles is coming now they want to say she's not black oml

They’ve been saying this for months now sadly 🤦🏽‍♀️ Scratch that. Some of them have tried to whitewash Nettles for years now 😗:

Only the one made in 2013 has an “excuse” because there was no official artwork of her yet, but even then she is described as having brown skin in The Princess and the Queen so🤷🏽‍♀️

The rest 😬 You could make the argument that they didn’t know about the Dance lore DVD , but that came out in early 2016 and if you knew about Nettles enough to draw her you should’ve seen that video where she looks like this:

(Even little ole me, a person who was only able to get through Fire & Blood early last year after attempting to read it in late 2020, has known about that lore video for 7 years now☺️).

I will say that ever since the show ended, the attempted race-bending has gotten worse.

Prior to HOTD (2-10 years ago) most of the fandom(minus the people drawing Nettles as a tan non-Black woman or just straight-up white and that one fancast 🙃) acknowledged that Nettles was at least Blackish cause the actresses they used in their fancasts for her were Black or Blackish 🤷🏽‍♀️:

This is a terrible pick for so many reasons, but still better than what they are doing now🫠

Now it seems like the only way they can cope with Nettles being on the show is to imagine her being completely non-Black(and insisting she’s in Blackface cause in 2023 HBO would definitely be able to get away with that without facing 0 backlash 👍🏽).

I blame this switch in large part on Dumbnyra’s deranged rabidly racist fanbase who somehow thought HOTD was going to cater to their every whim and demand, axe Nettles(or make her into a child or a sexless mammy figure which is why they cried about her potential actress wearing a dress😚), and give them their great white incest ship after they “screwed over” Jonerys 🤣🤣🤣

They are butthurt, refuse to relate to Nettles cause of her race(which is why some have tried to whitewash her for years), and they definitely don’t want to see a Negro with Daemon. So they’ve stooped to starting an aggressive race-bending campaign🤷🏽‍♀️

When that doesn’t work they’ll put all their energy into saying how Daemon and Nettles are better off staying platonic pals in s3 🙃

And if HBO does give us Dettles(and doesn't try to pull some more racist bs) then they’ll just start labeling Nettles a whore and saying how evil she is to “steal” Daemon away from his family🤷🏽‍♀️ All while having mental breakdowns every five seconds, endlessly making more gifs/edits of that dry beach scene another million times, and putting in the tags/comments “what we had before the dirty Jezebel showed up”🤣

It’s funny and sad at the same time, but besides wanting an non-Black woman to be in Blackface, there is nothing new to see here🤷🏽‍♀️
