Starlo Kicks

I repainted my tennis shoe flats :3!! They are inspired by Starlo, but vague enough that they’ll go with various outfits, just being blue and gold.

The toes of the shoes, tongue flaps, and edges are blue. The backs, around the laces, and front stars are gold. Smaller stars are painted around the back in blue.

The laces were dyed yellow & orange, and I added celestial pendants to them.

Before & after comparison of the detail work. Before the trim was done, the front stars were also much more fuzzy. I personally liked the fuzzy look a lot, but wanted it to match the crisp back stars.

I still stand by the fact that getting topsurgery is one of the best desicions I've made, but now having to change what used to be one of my fav. tops so I can wear it again (mind u, it's a lace top, there is very few applications to wear it, BUT I at least wanna have the option) is getting annoying cause it needs way more changing than I thought xD

Who could have guessed removing 1.5kg (3.3lbs) of tissue could affect the way clothing fits?! /j

I've realised not only do I have work stuff from my most recent job (which is honestly the softest hoodie I've felt in ages) but a basically every previous job I've had that required uniform (one did not ask for it back, the other was changing theirs soon anyway) so I need to come up with some ideas on how to modify them to something I'll actually use and not immediately recognisable as that companies (I think only one will be a problem for that)

When I met (unexpectedly, amazingly) with @coveredinredpaint, I saw that his army bag has many pockets. Mine only has one, so I gave it more pockets.

Here's the hidden pockets that made my fingers kinda hurt because the fabric is thick af:

As you can see, they're also completely invisible from the outside! A good place for essentials like emergency pads, candy, stickers, gum, etc

Hi ❤️ I found this beautiful red pair of pants at the thrift store a while ago, and I just got around to modifying them (also I fucked around with my photo editor for no reason)

I really love the embroidery on it and the material is extremely soft and breathable. But when I got them they were a bit too big for me and the drawstring was a pain in the ass to use. So I removed the drawstring and mended the hole, then I folded the waist band over itself in two places at my sides and stitched it in place. It's an elastic waist band so I was completely okay with removing the drawstring entirely (I forgot to take a picture of the waist band. Oh well)

I was thinking of adding more embroidery to the waist band but I'm afraid of compromising the stretchy-ness in any way so Idk yet. I think I'll leave it alone for now

I also changed the shape of the legs, they were flared out a little bit. I like the shape so instead of using elastic, I made drawstrings for the bottom of the legs so that I could achieve that poofy pants shape I like, but I also have the option to untie or remove the strings and bring them back to their original shape if I want to

I went from having this in my wardrobe and rarely wearing it to wearing it all the time!!! They're so comfortable and beautiful and they were fun to modify 🌿☀️

There are 5 total images. The first one is of me in my mirror wearing a black crop top and red pair of pants made of flowy fabric, they're embroidered with an intricate diagonal grid pattern and some vines around it in the same color as the fabric, across the middle of both legs and going down. but the embroidery doesn't show well in this particular image. My head doesn't show in the image so it's just my outfit. I edited the photo and put some sun stickers on it as well as two captions in white text placed near my waist that say: "took the drawstring out and mended the hole" and "tailored the waist band to fit" and a third caption at the bottom of the photo that says "cut open the hem at the bottom of each leg and inserted new drawstrings, changing the shape."

The next two images are pictures of the pants laid out on my bed, one image is zoomed in on the embroidery.

The next image is zoomed in on the bottom of the right leg where I put new drawstrings made of darker red yarn. There's red embroidered vines going down the seams and slightly lighter red embroidery thread on the edges of the hole I cut in the hem. There are three captions in white text in the photo that say: 1. "I embroidered the edges of the fabric I cut so they don't fray." 2. "Once i finished that i stitched it closed 1/4th of the way on the inside to prevent this part of the hem from sticking out." 3. "And I made two new drawstrings from yarn before I realized I could've used the one from the waist band instead"

The last image is of the same are of the pants as the last image but without the text and my hand. And the hole where the drawstrings are coming out of is less visible.

I found a mossy green pair of pants at the thrift store that I fell in love with. It's got detachable legs so you can wear them as shorts, like six huge pockets, one of those plastic locking belt buckles built into the pants, a perfect fit and lots of space for customization

They're more green irl, idk why the camera is graying out the green (especially in the middle) but it's fine

Turns out these are boy scout uniform pants. Didn't even realize it until I got home. So I think the perfect thing to do with these is to turn them into faggoty anarchist solaprunk patch pants :) this will be a long term project but it's one I'm excited to add to my growing pile of ongoing projects to start!!I'll post updates maybe eventually

I never really found a good pair of pants to turn into sturdy patch pants until I found these for like 10 bucks, and it's funny that the one pair of pants that clicked for me was a part of a uniform for a fucked up and evil conservative religious organization. Gonna fuck them up freak style :)

As someone who still hasn't watch the show, my headcanon for how Vox died is that he was a shitty sales rep in an electronics store. He'd get paid extra for every thing he sold, but his genuine marketing tactics lead to barely one sale a day, and he started making false promises so more people would by the shit he's trying to sell (in a store that had no refunds). One customer finally decided to sue him for blatant false advertising, getting his company in massive trouble, and thus getting his position terminated. In a fit of rage, he broke in to his, now former, job and threw a hissy fit, kicking and smashing. He knocked over a TV that fell splat on his head, instantly killing him.
