So High School Part¹- k.m

‣ kate martin x celebrity reader (inspired fully by @ellienator)
‣ wc: 1216
‣‣ synopsis: reader, who has been famous all her life (think mckenna grace or peyton elizabeth lee), reveals her celebrity crush in a Vanity Fair interview with close friend, Sabrina Carpenter.
‣‣‣ a/n: pre write: i'm so obsessed with the wcbb x celebrity trope, also sorry it’s so long but i wanted to use this fic to practice writing more dialogue! after: i started around one a.m. and somehow finished this at almost FOUR AM after writing non-stop... (IT WOULDN'T LET ME UPLOAD THIS, I TRIED LIKE TWENTY TIMES)
"I swear to god, you have to stop touching your hair y/n," my manager, Alyssa, looked up from her phone just to scold me for the second time in the last twenty minutes.
"I'm sorry but I literally cannot help it right now Lyss, you don't understand how nervous I am for this," I insisted to her. "I'm so stupid, out of all the men AND women in the entire celebrity pool world wide, why did I have to say that Kate freaking Martin was my celebrity crush," I whine, albeit childishly, while squirming in the leather seats of our limo.
Three Weeks Ago
"Hi my name is Y/N L/N, and today I am here with Vanity Fair with the one and only..." You introduced yourself to the camera before gesturing to the woman next to you, one of your closest childhood friends.
"Sabrina Carpenter! And today we are going to be testing out a little lie detector test," After growing up on Disney sets together and respectively journeying out of the acting industry into music, you and Sabrina had only grown closer over the years you had known each other.
As the proctor introduces how the interview will go, Sabrina volunteers you to be in the hot seat first, and with some small bickering, you relent.
"So let's start of small just to test it out you know, how old are you?" Sabrina asks you from the other end of the table.
"I actually just turned 23 years old," you respond calmly, happy that your friend was taking it slow. With the proctor's approval, the two of you move on with the questioning.
SMALL TIME SKIP
"What is your biggest ick in a relationship? Wait I think we've talked about this before right?" Sabrina animatedly asks, eager to hear you response.
"No yea we definitely have, but the thing is for me," you start, "I don't have a type, like at all. Man, woman, celebrity, athlete, a totally regular person, I don't really care. To me, if you're attractive then you're attractive right?" Sabrina nodded in agreement to your statement. "So it's not often I get icked out, however, my biggest and literal immediate turn-off is when they start being overwhelmingly jealousy or being possessive about me, even like just being overbearing about my every move is an immediate no for me. It's honestly why I've been single for a while now," You respond thoroughly.
It was no secret to your fans that you were bisexual, considering your last very public relationship was with a woman.
"That's honestly such a valid ick, like if you think you own me then please escort yourself out that's honestly so gross," Sabrina piggybacks off your answer. "But I'm dying to ask and there's no way you expected me to not ask you this question, but, you've been a single lady for quite some time now," Sabrina teases, wiggling her eyebrows repeatedly at you.
"Oh no, I know where you're going with this," You complain, already beginning to feel a flush rising in your face.
"Do you have your eyes on anybody right now? Specifically, do you currently have a celebrity crush?" Sabrina asks you with the widest, most smug shit-eating grin on her face as she watches the blush begin to form on your cheeks.
"Yes I do," you mumble, rolling your eyes at your friend in the process.
"Who is it?" She pushes, knowing that once she asked, you basically had no choice but to answer according to the interview rules.
"Dude that's so not fair I don't wanna tell the entire internet that," you protest weakly.
"Come on! It's not even that big of a deal, besides you're super hot, I'm sure she'll be flattered," Sabrina insisted to you while trying to hold back her grin.
"Sab!" You groan as her big mouth reveals the gender of your crush, automatically giving away part of their identity.
"Oh shoot sorry," She quickly apologizes, covering her mouth with the interview question card in her hand. "But like, you're gonna tell them who it is either way so I'm not sure it matters," She adds in slyly, reveling in the red flush that had now visibly engulfed the entirety of your face.
"Okay fine whatever, it's Kate Martin," you mumble under your breath looking down at your shoes, attempting to escape the embarrassment burning inside of you.
"No that's definitely cheating, you have to actually say her name," Sab giggled at the state you were in.
"Oh my gosh fine," you exclaimed while waving your face with a paper from the desk, trying to lessen the appearance of the blush on your face. "It's Kate Martin alright? She plays basketball at the University of Iowa, has just declared for the WNBA Draft, and she's incredibly attractive, so literally sue me." You end the mini rant with both hands in the air, embarrassed and mildly annoyed at the fact that your friend had coaxed you into admitting your crush.
Sabrina laughed in delight, smacking her hand excitedly on the table in front of you to in response to your confession.
"OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, tell me you've seen the edits of her on tiktok because there's no way you don't have any favorited or saved on your phone," Sabrina wheezed through her bout of laughter.
"Obviously I've seen them but I haven't favorited any of them," you defended weakly.
"That's a lie," the proctor informed you two, which sent Sabrina into a second round of wheezing laughs.
"NO WAY, how many? Like a hundred? Two hundred? More than that?" She exclaimed, somehow managing to tease you while still being out of breath with laughter.
"Like two or three maybe, like at most," You lied, despite knowing that they would find out.
"Still lying," the proctor slightly smiled, only furthering Sabrina's howling laughter to the point she nearly fell out of her chair.
"My god, you could at least pretend to be a little less overjoyed at this," you grumbled, attempting and failing to hide the giggles beginning to spill out of you at the sound of your friend's infectious laughter. You eventually gave up on trying to pretend being annoyed and joined Sab with her maniacal laughing, unable to control yourselves for the next few minutes.
"I hope you realize I'm so getting you back for that," You teased Sabrina as the two of you switched seats to continue the second half of the interview, your questions and Sabrina's answers.
END OF FLASHBACK
"Y/n it's not even that big of a deal, you just said she was attractive, it's not like you professed your deep-profound love for her," Alyssa insisted.
"I practically admitted to favoriting tiktok edits of her Alyssa, I'm literally doomed," you sighed dramatically leaning your head to the cool glass of the limo window.
"Yea well," Alyssa began, texting on her phone once again, "You're just gonna have to put on your big girl pants and deal with it because we're almost there and they wanna interview you on the red carpet and right when you enter the theater, and it’s quite literally the WNBA Draft, so there's no way they're not gonna bring up Kate," she informed you.
"I'm actually gonna die," you declare.
Thanks for reading all the way through! I'll be coming out with part two very soon!!

you make me crazier ꕥ a. russo

pairing: alessia russo x reader
summary: when the arsenal team gets invited to attend an international artist’s show, little did they know—one of their recent signings is secretly dating them. pop star!reader
you hummed playing with the strings of your guitar, a habit you always had ever since you were a child. currently, sound check was going on and you were waiting for the lucky ones, the arsenal women’s team—you’re a fan of football.
you noticed your manager who was monitoring you with a few of your tour staff. a small chuckle escaped your lips when you saw the way your manager looked at her watch frantically.
“it seems like the arsenal women’s team has arrived.” jenny said, as you hummed—giving her a small nod. as she scurried to greet them.
you strummed the strings of the guitar playing one of your favorite songs, crazier by taylor swift. not knowing that the team had entered already, nor how your favorite person watched with a small smile on her face.
“you lift my feet off the ground, you spin me around.” you sang as you thought about the time where you agreed to be alessia’s girlfriend. the wide smile she had, it was something you had fallen for.
“would you be mine, y/n?” alessia asked, as you gave her a shy soft smile. you gave her a nod, as she lifted you up from the ground—gently spinning you around in happiness.
“you make me crazier, crazier. feels like i’m falling and i—i’m lost in your eyes.” you opened your eyes, as you noticed the team watching you with a smile, some looked starstrucked, and some admired the way you sang. but one—was totally in love with you, and they didn’t know that.
“you make me crazier, crazier—crazier.” you stood up before giving them a small bow, as they had clapped when the song had ended. jenny giving you a knowing look, as she knew about the private relationship.
of course, she knew—your childhood bestfriend turned manager. a chaotic bunch the two of you were.
“did you guys like it?” you asked, giving a small hum. as leah, the team’s co-captain gave you a nod. alessia watched as you came closer, greeting the team.
the sound check was exactly how you wanted it to be, the team enjoyed it. but it’s not over yet, is it? there’s still the actual concert, the team had the closest view to you—as they had the front row.
the set list was simple, you were playing the second album you released—it truly was a hit. you watched as the crowd cheered the loudest, but you kept your eyes on a certain blonde.
it was the way her eyes shined when she watched you sang. the way she’d look at you with pure adoration, and would get a bit teary eyed as she acknowledges what you accomplished and is proud to have you as her lover.
when the last song ended, you stood up—the tour staff quickly entering the stage to grab your guitar, and other things.
“that was a great show, london. i’m glad to have come out here for my tour, and i really can’t wait to come back.” you said, as the crowd cheered. you blew a kiss, as you entered the backstage—knowing that the arsenal team already had passes.
henry, your bodyguard let the team pass as they waited outside of your dressing room. chatter was heard, as the door swung open—revealing you in a simple white long sleeved polo shirt, black pleated wide leg dressy trousers, white trainers and plaid pattern argyle print pocket v-sweater.
“hi, i’m y/n.” you softly said, as the team chuckled at your awkwardness—even jenny gave you a pointed look, snickering at you.
you chatted with the whole team, not minding how you held onto alessia’s pinky—it was covered by a jacket she had placed over her leg.
a simple post is what broke the internet, it also had the arsenal group chat blowing up.

Hidden In Plain Sight — Pezzy x Reader
🔹 Fluff 🔹 Secret Relationship Reveal 🔹 Protective Pezzy 🔹 Soft Dom Energy 🔹 F!Reader 🔹 Chat Loses Their Minds 🔹 Supportive Friend Trio 🔹 Teeth-Rotting Affection 🔹 Cuddling & Caretaking 🔹 Request🦋
Pezzy had always been careful about keeping your relationship private. It wasn’t that he was ashamed—far from it. He loved you more than anything. But the internet was a different beast, and he wanted to protect you from the chaos that came with being in the public eye. Only his closest friends knew about you. Which is why, while he was live with Puffer, Droid, and Grizzy, you stayed quietly in the background, busy with your own little tasks. Today, that task was changing the bedsheets. A simple job, right?
Wrong.
Because being short meant that trying to shake out and spread a giant blanket was practically an Olympic sport. You huffed as you stretched on your toes, arms fully extended, trying to get the damn thing to even out. Almost… You wobbled on the soft surface of the mattress, the blanket slipping from your grasp just as you lost your balance. “Shit—!” The world tilted, and you crashed to the floor, a loud thump echoing through the house. “Bro, that’s bullshit—” Pezzy started, mid-argument with Puffer about some in-game nonsense, when—THUD. A loud crash echoed through his mic. His head whipped around, his gamer instincts instantly overridden by pure concern. “Hold up,” Pezzy said quickly, ripping off his headset. “Wait, what? Where you going?” Droid asked, but Pezzy was already bolting out of the room. “Uh-oh,” Puffer muttered. Chat exploded.
WTF WAS THAT??
WHY DID PEZZY RUN LIKE THAT HELLO??
SOMEBODY FELL???
BRO HAS A WHOLE ASS GIRLFRIEND AND DIDN’T TELL US???
DO WE HAVE A SECRET GF LORE DROP??
Grizzy, Puffer, and Droid exchanged looks. “Uh—SO ANYWAY—” Droid said loudly, trying to distract chat. “You guys ever see that one video of the raccoon who—” “Nah, they’re already onto it, bro,” Grizzy chuckled, shaking his head. Puffer just sighed, sipping his drink. “Yeah, Pezzy’s cooked.” Back in the room, Pezzy found you on the floor, rubbing your side with a pained wince. The blanket was half-draped over you, and the shattered glass of a picture frame was scattered nearby. “Are you okay?” Pezzy crouched beside you in an instant, his hands checking you over. “Why the hell didn’t you just wait for me?” You sighed. “I didn’t wanna bother you—” He narrowed his eyes. “Babe. You could’ve seriously hurt yourself.” You did hurt yourself, actually. Pezzy noticed a small but nasty cut on your palm where you must’ve landed on the glass. “Alright, c’mon,” he muttered, lifting you up effortlessly. “Kitchen. Now.” And as Pezzy walked you to the kitchen, chat got a full view of him gently holding your injured hand, guiding you to sit down, and rummaging through the cabinets for the first-aid kit.
CHAT WE ARE WITNESSING TRUE LOVE
WTF
LOOK AT HOW GENTLE HE IS???
HE’S SCOLDING HER BUT IT’S CUTE AS FUCK??
“Why didn’t you wait for me?” IM SCREAMINGGGG
PUFFER, GRIZZY, DROID—EXPLAIN
The guys were desperately trying to hold the fort. “I mean—y’know, could be his mom, could be his sister—” Puffer tried. “Bro, that is not his sister,” Droid deadpanned. Grizzy just grinned. “Nah, let him cook.” Back in the kitchen, Pezzy gently dabbed at your cut with antiseptic, his lips pressing into a thin line as you hissed. “I don’t care if I was live—you could’ve texted me, babe.” “I didn’t want to ruin your stream…” you mumbled, avoiding his gaze. Pezzy paused. Then, softly cupped your cheek, tilting your face up to his. “Listen to me,” he said, his tone firm but full of love. “I don’t give a single fuck about streaming when it comes to you. You come first. Always.” Your heart swelled. “But… you wanted to keep us private—” “Not if it means you think I don’t care about you,” Pezzy said. “If chat finds out, they find out. Doesn’t change shit for me.” You stared at him, a warmth spreading through your chest. “You really mean that?” He smirked. “Do you want me to go announce it on stream?” You laughed. “Maybe not immediately…” “Good,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“Now, let me finish patching you up.” The second Pezzy sat back down at his desk, his chat was on his ass.
BRO EXPLAIN
DON’T JUST SIT THERE
WE HEARD EVERYTHING
??? I AM UNWELL
HOW LONG HAVE Y’ALL BEEN DATING SPILL
Pezzy just sighed, rubbing his face. “…Yeah, okay, chat. Y’all caught me.” Puffer and Droid immediately cheered. Grizzy wheezed. “We tried to cover for you, man.” Pezzy just shook his head with a small smile. “Yeah, yeah. Look, I’m logging off for the day.” He looked into the camera with a lazy grin. “Gotta take care of my girl.” Chat erupted again. And as he shut off the stream, he returned to you, wrapping you up in a warm hug as you lay comfortably in bed, still feeling a little guilty for interrupting his stream. “You’re not mad?” you asked softly. “Nah,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Honestly… kinda glad they know now.” You smiled, curling into his warmth. And with that, the two of you spent the rest of the night cuddled up, Pezzy refusing to let you lift a finger while you recovered. Because in the end, he never cared about what the internet thought. All he cared about was you.

Author’s Note: Well, here we go...The game has finally started but who will survive? As always, let me know your thoughts and all comments are greatly appreciated! ♡

The dorms are much more spacious than anticipated as Yoon-Seo and Jung-Won beeline for the sole coffee table in the middle of the room, occupying either side. You instead, opt to unceremoniously plop yourself down onto one of the sizeable bunk beds, plugging your phone in to charge, having depleted the power source earlier on the bus ride over.
With a familiar chime, the battery icon flashes, but you do a double take as you realize the bar has gone back up to more than 50%. "That's strange..." you whisper more to yourself than anyone, but Yoon-Seo hears you.
"What is?"
You flip over onto your stomach and turn your phone screen toward her. "Look." You point to the upper right corner, forefinger tapping at the yellow bar, lightning symbol on display. "I'm sure it was at 26% earlier but all of a sudden it's paused at nearly double what it was previously."
"Maybe you mixed up the percentages?" Yoon-Seo suggests.
"I don't think so..." You scratch your head in confusion as Yoon-Seo shrugs, neither of you having a clue in the slightest.
"Electronics are good when they work," Jung-Won says, padding over to the chair by your head where Yoon-Seo left her backpack. You place the phone face-down on the nightstand and see her slip a small gift box inside the unzipped bag, making a shushing motion with her pointer finger against her lips. Smiling, you mimic the locking of a key and throw it away behind you, keeping Yoon-Seo's birthday surprise between the two of you. "Ugh, I need to take a coding lecture but my laptop's failing to connect to the internet."
Yoon-Seo scoots her back against the side railing of your bed and crosses her arms, tsking at Jung-Won. "You keep badgering me nonstop for reading, but who else except you would willingly study during a school trip?" Yoon-Seo shakes her head. "Stop acting like the top of the class, Madame Mensa."
Jung-Won doesn't look up from her laptop screen, monotonously correcting the nickname. "Mensa is the name of the organization. You're supposed to say Mensan for the people. How many times do I have to tell you?"
You laugh at the habitual repartee between them, but get cut off by a ding signaling an incoming notification. Peering over Yoon-Seo's shoulder, you eye as an app materializes on her home screen, one you don't recognize nor have you ever seen it in the default bundle all phones come with.
"Jung-Won, what's this? I said I don't need it."
"It's really not me. I haven't touched your phone at all."
Curious, you grab your own phone and glance down at it, the same little round-edged square making its appearance. "Yoon-Seo, I have it too. Neither of us downloaded it or scanned the QR code when we arrived."
[ ᴡᴇʟᴄᴏᴍᴇ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀғɪᴀ ɢᴀᴍᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇɢɪɴ sʜᴏʀᴛʏ. ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇᴇᴅ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴄʜᴇᴄᴋɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴀssɪɢɴᴇᴅ ᴏᴄᴄᴜᴘᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. ]
"Mafia game?" As you touch the screen, an envelope unfurls following animation. "Wasn't this what they were playing earlier on the bus?"
"Yeah..." Yoon-Seo confirms distractedly, verifying her own occupation. "I guess I'm a civilian, not that I expected to be anything else. How about you guys?"
"I'm also a civilian."
[ ʜᴀɴ sᴇᴏʟ-ʜᴡᴀ ɴɪᴍ, ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴏʟᴇ ɪs ᴀ ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ. ]
"Me too," you fib, hoping that it wouldn't be questioned. You weren't a very good liar to begin with and hoped this would pass. Maybe there would be a reward for winning the game, but either way, at least you knew your closest friends were on the same side as you.
Still, for some odd reason, it didn't seem fit for you to reveal your real character. Being a doctor seemed too important of a role to just go around telling everyone willy-nilly. The three of you rarely kept secrets from one another, and so you trusted that a white lie for the game this one time could be forgiven.
Before any of you can discuss the odd happenings of the unexpected game further, paragraphs pop up in successive order, outlining the standard rules:
𝟣) ᴀʟʟ ᴘᴀʀᴛɪᴄɪᴘᴀɴᴛs ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇ sᴇᴄʀᴇᴛʟʏ ᴀssɪɢɴᴇᴅ ᴀs ᴀ ᴄɪᴛɪᴢᴇɴ, ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ, ᴘᴏʟɪᴄᴇ ᴏғғɪᴄᴇʀ, ᴏʀ ᴀ ᴍᴇᴍʙᴇʀ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀғɪᴀ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ ᴄᴀɴ ᴘʀᴇᴠᴇɴᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇxᴇᴄᴜᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏғ ᴀɴʏ ᴘᴀʀᴛɪᴄɪᴘᴀɴᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ sᴇᴇ ғɪᴛ, ᴡʜɪʟᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴏʟɪᴄᴇ ᴍᴀʏ ᴄᴏɴғɪʀᴍ ᴀ ᴘʟᴀʏᴇʀ's ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴛʏ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴄʜᴏᴏsɪɴɢ.

You're still trying to wrap your head around the summarized instructions, sensing that there was much more to the game than meets the eye. Why was there no outlining of the individual tasks required for those with specialized occupations? How many of you were assigned to each role? What happens after execution?
Jung-Won's voice interrupts your thoughts, the thread of worries pausing in its unending tangling inside your mind. "If you push a name, a vote gets cast apparently."
"You elected someone already...?" It was quite obvious how much Eun-Ha pushed for Yool determinedly in the group chat, and reluctantly, you and Yoon-Seo follow suit, knowing full-well Yool's obsession with the game and his caliber for winning streaks.
Pensively, you start scrolling through the partakers' list, seeing your classmates' yearbook photos, including your own. Being the overthinker that you are, your mind starts spinning with all of the possibilities on how this game could end, but you had no clue why it even began in the first place. The awareness of budding anxiousness courses through you as a slight breeze from the window sends goosebumps raising on your arms at the late revelation. "But guys...why does this app have our identifiers?"
Yoon-Seo turns to you, eyebrows knit together in agreement. "Right. We didn't even sign up earlier. Who granted them access to gather this protected information?"
Jung-Won bites at her nails, eyes shifting back and forth across her phone screen, the glare of its light reflecting off her glasses. "The internet isn't working either. How are we able to play the game anyway?"
Silence encases the vicinity around your trio, no one knowing what to say to the other, all questions remaining unvoiced and unanswered.
"Why don't we go back down to the lobby and see if there's anyone we can ask?" you propose, Jung-Won and Yoon-Seo readily assenting.
The reception desk as you head downstairs is as empty as it was the moment you came in, maybe even more so as reticence settles over the expansive building, the sky having gone ominously dark from a single look out the glass doors of the entrance.
"Our teacher hasn't come back yet? He left so long ago..." Yoon-Seo walks around the reception desk, circling for any clues. "Nothing could've happened, right?"
"What if he got into an accident?" Jung-Won states bluntly, drumming her fingers against the marble countertop.
"Yah, don't say it like that..." you warn. "Words can be dangerous. You don't know what it can subject someone to."
Before Jung-Won can list more outrageous possibilities, Jun-Hee sidles up on the opposite side of the counter where you're spinning back and forth in the chair slowly, lost in thought.
"Hey Jun-Hee, do you know when Seonsaengnim will be back?" Yoon-Seo directs at him while she flips through the binder of contacts placed beside you. "These numbers aren't what we need at all. They're just for the retreat center's use like maintenance and all that."
Jun-Hee shakes his head. "I can't reach him." He pulls out his phone, only to sigh and slip it back inside his pocket. "Are any of your guys' devices working?"
"We don't even have service." You look around once more, surveying areas within your eyesight in case any adults would spontaneously reappear. "Shouldn't there be at least one staff member or at the very least a security guard on patrol at night?"
"I guess they all went with our teacher." Jun-Hee walks up next to you and settles down on the counter to your left.
You raise an eyebrow. "Every single one of them? They didn't think to have anybody stay behind as a chaperone?"
"Well, when you put it that way..." Jun-Hee begins. "It does seem a little unnecessary for all of them to up and leave."
"Then, what do we do now? How long do we wait?" Jung-Won stares at the clock ticking away. "It's barely nine o'clock. Surely, it wouldn't take him twice as long to pick up the others and return here, right?"
"There must be a phone in the staff lounge," Yoon-Seo stops her rummaging around under the desk long enough to say. "Jung-Won, let's go and search there."
"You're leaving me here alone?"
"Not alone," Yoon-Seo waggles her eyebrows so only you can see. "With Jun-Hee, of course."
Jung-Won conceals her smile behind her hand not so discreetly and begins to drag Yoon-Seo away. As they pass, Yoon-Seo pats Jun-Hee on the shoulder and cautions him. "If she gets lost, you'll be in big trouble."
He turns to her. "You've known me since we were babies, who do you take me for?"
Yoon-Seo merely ignores him and follows Jung-Won upstairs happily, an extra spring in her step, making it known how proud she was of herself. Rolling your eyes unnoticeably at their less than subtle tactics, you could only hope they were actually going to find a phone and not saying that purely for reasons of ulterior motives.
The hush after is stifling without the buffer of Yoon-Seo and Jung-Won. Jun-Hee is staring straight at you, hands bracing the counter on either side of him waiting for you to say something, but you're staring down at the floor, purposefully refusing to make eye contact.
"Are you mad at me?"
That was the last thing you expected him to say. "Of course not." You look up at him briefly, but what a mistake that was. With you lowered in the chair and him sitting up on the raised desk, your eyes meet his lips first and your mind automatically reels back to the kiss on the bus. Darting your eyes back to your lap immediately after draws out a weary sigh from Jun-Hee.
"Even now you can't look straight at me. At least tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it." When you're thinking of what to reply with, Jun-Hee grabs the chair's armrests by your sides and pulls you in closer, leaning his head down so that his form towers over yours. With nowhere else to look now, you're forced to gaze upward and the expression on his face has your stomach tightening in knots, guilty. "Now you're finally looking at me." A beat passes before Jun-Hee's eyes become downturn. "I'm sorry."
Your gaze softens as you glance into his dark brown eyes, seeing your own image in his irises. "I'm the one that should be sorry." You place your hands that were settled in your lap onto his forearms, and he instantly gazes down at the contact before looking back to you, his attention unwavering. "Don't ever apologize to me when you didn't do anything wrong, Jun-Hee."
His eyes dart back and forth between your own, questioning. "Then why have you been avoiding me? Did something happen while I was sleeping earlier on the bus? If there is or I made you uncomfortable in any way—"
"No, no, it's nothing like that," you're quick to salvage the situation and dismiss the notion entirely, even though he couldn't have been more spot on. He had always been an observant person. This you knew too well.
I didn't want you to find out my feelings for you and lose you as a friend all in one.
Instead of the full truth, you tell him only half of it. "I didn't want you to find out how tired I felt and have you worrying over me. I know you're the class president with greater, more important responsibilities, but I also know, above anyone else, that I can't burden you with my troubles just because I'm your friend."
"Seol-Hwa, even then, you could've told me." His hands move to rest on your shoulders. "You'll always be my top priority." In a much quieter voice he says, "And I'll always worry about you."
"Jun-Hee..."
He looks you dead in the eyes, expression open and filled with warmth. "I don't like when you're sad. You look the prettiest when you smile." You don't even get a chance to get a word in before Jun-Hee plows on, turning his head away slightly. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was abashed to be saying the things he did. "In the gymnasium earlier, you were laughing so carefree with Yoon-Seo. It's been a while since I've seen you like that with me. I can only be happy if you're happy..." He's almost sulking, his countenance like that of a kicked puppy.
You laugh genuinely, your head hitting the back of the chair. "Kim Jun-Hee, are you jealous of my friendship with Yoon-Seo right now?"
"I got you to smile this time!" He grins back brightly at you and the two of you sit there looking at one another, neither grin dropping. The soft exhalation of his laughter trickles into your ears once again, Jun-Hee being so content with having you in his presence, and you bask in how happy the sound makes you. Any previously existing tension disintegrates in an instant, and oddly enough, you feel closer to him than ever.
The moment gets cut short when a text from the app's group chat comes in, a start contrast to the discussion earlier, votes having already pooled in for Heo Yool.
[ 💬 sᴏ-ᴍɪ: ʟᴇᴇ ʏᴏᴏɴ-sᴇᴏ, ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴏᴏʟ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɴɴᴇx. ɪᴛ's ᴜʀɢᴇɴᴛ. ]
The oddly specific and demanding tone of the message irked you to no end. "What is this about?" Never once have you seen So-Mi try to interact with your friend group voluntarily.
Jun-Hee waves his hand dismissively. "For the event tomorrow, we're interviewing everyone about the trip and the general experience."
"Even in this situation?" you ask incredulously.
Jun-Hee chuckles. "You know how So-Mi is." His eyebrows lift pointedly.
You pat his thigh accidentally, having missed his knee entirely and feel the muscles tense beneath your hand although he doesn't move away. "Don't you find it odd?"
Jun-Hee tilts his head, equal parts confused and curious. "About...?"
"Everything." You gesture around. "The lost signal, the disappearance of supposedly responsible adults, this automatically installed app that has our personal data, and the mafia game we're all in even though we didn't choose to play?"
Jun-Hee mulls it over for a second. "I honestly have no idea what's going on." He ruffles your head affectionately. "But don't worry so much. I'm certain once morning comes, everything will be alright."
"I sure hope so."
Your conversation quietens as heavy footsteps pad across the glossed floors and you squint to see the figure in the distance.
"Joo-Won?"
Jun-Hee turns around at your discovery and notices your classmate's bloody nose, a spark of recognition flashing across his eyes. "Where are you going?"
Joo-Won looks from Jun-Hee to you, and back again nervously, seemingly deciding whether he should say something or not. "W-Well, the guys wanted to see me for a second. So..." he stammers out.
You frown, knowing of the relentless bullying Kyung-Jun's group puts him and Da-Bum through.
"Wait there," Jun-Hee directs, hopping off the desk, and Ju-Won picks at his fingers, clearly on edge at the impending encounter.
"Be careful," you add in as an afterthought before he can leave.
"I will, now that I have you fretting over me." Jun-Hee smirks cheekily.
"I'm being serious, Jun-Hee." You fix him with a stern but caring gaze. "Try to be less confrontational. It won't be good for you or Ju-Won to get on Kyung-Jun's bad side."
He nods, understanding. "I'll try my best." Waving, he begins to lead Ju-Won away, the latter shuffling after with his head down pitifully. "I'll see you soon. Don't go anywhere where I can't reach you!" Your eyes trail after their distancing forms, agitatedly until you can no longer hear their footsteps echoing down the hall.
Not even a full minute has gone by before Yoon-Seo and Jong-Won show up again, trudging down the same stairs they climbed up less than an hour ago. Judging by their walk and the look on their faces, their search must've proved unsuccessful.
"Nothing came up?" You fall into place with the two as your all make way toward the pool.
"The phone lines..." Yoon-Seo begins, dishearteningly. "None of them worked. Every single ring had us fooled."
You stare at her in shock. "But—"
"We tried contacting 119 and even picking up incoming calls immediately, but no one answered." Jung-Won hangs her head despondently.
"This trip is starting to take a very wrong turn..." you hypothesize out loud. You don't even get to explain to Yoon-Seo and Jung-Won your reasoning before Na-Hee comes by, skipping over joyfully, oblivious on how to read the room.
"You all came." Na-Hee grabs your hand and Jung-Won's in each of her own, motioning with her head toward Yoon-Seo to enter. "Yoon-Seo, you should head inside." Without questioning it, Yoon-Seo does as she's told.
You slip your hand out of Na-Hee's nippily, and her smile wanes faintly, somewhat hurt. Hyun-Ho had confided in you that he liked her, but given what you knew about Na-Hee, you weren't fond of the idea. Not wanting to disappoint him, you don't say anything when he brings her up, but the things she has been a bystander for following in So-Mi's schemes never sat right with you. Silently, you hope that one day Na-Hee would come to her senses for Hyun-Ho's sake, but you've been proven wrong time and time again.
"Are these solo interviews or what?" you inquire curtly.
"They want to record Yoon-Seo first. You can come in a bit later."
"Can't be that special of footage." Jung-Won pulls you by the elbow, sidestepping Na-Hee and pushing the doors open of her own volition.
You're met with So-Mi, Ji-Soo, Yu-Jun, and Woo-Ram, all crowding around Yoon-Seo and singing her happy birthday with a makeshift cake comprised of stacked choco-pies.
So-Mi steps forward, offering Yoon-Seo the sweets and urging her to blow out a single measly candle that wasn't even lit beforehand.
"Since when have you done stuff like this? You barely give her the time of day." Jung-Won eyes So-Mi suspiciously, voicing your same exact thoughts.
Yoon-Seo is way too nice, proceeding to thank So-Mi. You, on the other hand, didn't buy into the latter's nice girl act whatsoever, and clearly, neither did Jung-Won.
So-Mi shoots Yoon-Seo a saccharine smile. "Don't mention it. We should celebrate since we're friends." The word doesn't roll off her tongue easily, openly not a genuine desire. "We brought a present too." You narrow your eyes at the group as they're trying to hide their shrewd smiles, albeit unsuccessfully. "Let's start with a birthday beating and plunge!"
Instantaneously, you try to drag Yu-Jun, leaving Jung-Won to fend off Woo-Ram, away from Yoon-Seo with no luck. More force would just topple all three of them straight into the water. You didn't particularly care if the boys fell to the very bottom depths of the pool, but Yoon-Seo shouldn't get soaked, no less on the night of her birthday. She didn't deserve this horrible of a treatment for simply being too trusting, genuinely wanting to see good in everyone with no ounce of judgment or malice.
So-Mi guffaws hysterically in the background, bent over clutching her stomach like the sight is the funniest thing she's ever witnessed. "Put her down," she orders in between giggles, wiping away a tear from her eye. "She's about to cry." Standing akimbo, she bites back her sneer, turning to the rest. "We went too far, didn't we?"
"You think?!" Jung-Won rounds on her, eyes blazing with anger.
You haul Yoon-Seo back up to her feet as the boys scatter, high-fiving. As she stands up again after you've barely let go of her hands, So-Mi swiftly shoves her over backwards, sending her diving into the water with a loud splash, droplets flying every which way.
"Are you crazy? How could you do that?!" Jung-Won kneels next to you by the edge of the pool, watching as Yoon-Seo resurfaces.
"You ok?" You reach out a hand to her, close enough that she can grip your fingertips.
"Yeah, I will be."
You breathe a sigh of reprieve, but it's rather short-lived when Yoon-Seo starts kicking madly underwater, her arms and legs flailing before she sinks beneath, no longer visible.
"Yoon-Seo!" you shout, but hear no response.
"What a funny 'prank' to you guys, huh?" Jung-Won yells crossly at So-Mi's group, everyone standing shell-shocked. How they have the conscience to even feel the tiniest bit of remorse is beyond your understanding.
The group tries to urge Woo-Ram to go in, but in hindsight, being on the receiving end of the prank didn't seem so appealing anymore.
Livid, you turn around to heave So-Mi backwards and she goes tumbling to the ground, the silver platter she was holding in one hand clattering and smashing cake crumbs all over her. For whatever reason, Ji-Soo is still recording, but you could care less about the captured situation. "Be glad it's not the pool I pushed you into." She's stunned enough that she can't find it in her to form words.
Na-Hee opens her mouth, outwardly wanting to apologize, but swallows the excuses when you glare at her in turn. "I was right about you all along. You'll never change."
You kick your shoes off and jump in after Yoon-Seo without hesitation, Jung-Won screaming for you in the background. Thankfully, Yoon-Seo is still conscious, but scarcely, and you manage to guide her toward the rungs of the poolside ladder. Jung-Won yanks Yoon-Seo up and over the edge, throwing a hand down to you.
"Yoon-Seo lost her shoes. I saw them earlier but couldn't reach them, so let me retrieve them too."
Jung-Won looks into the chasmic pool apprehensively, more concerned after what happened, but nods in acknowledgment, going back to propping Yoon-Seo up. "Come back quickly, Seol-Hwa."
Everyone is huddling around Yoon-Seo while you plunge back under, holding your breath comfortably as you grab her sneakers. Right as you're swimming on the path of return, something cold clamps onto your leg, refusing to let go. The vice-like grip tightens, pulling you downward to drown in darkness. No matter how hard you kick, you can't resurface due to the invisible power.
"Seol-Hwa!" Jung-Won calls out to you, frightened. "I'm going to get help, hang on!"
The last thing you see are spindly, mottled, black fingers, color washed out grey in the lighting; something sinister and otherworldly. As it curls tighter around your ankle, so too does your chest constrict, the coldness of the touch seeping into your bones and you find the sense of prior trepidation returning in full force before everything sinks into oblivion.

Lungs burning and head throbbing, you open your eyes groggily, the pristine white walls of the infirmary slowly coming into focus. In the bed next to yours, Yoon-Seo is still asleep.
The digits on your left hand are numb, and you look over to see Jun-Hee gripping it like a lifeline, head resting atop his arm by your knees. Your body protests as you turn on your side, muscles stiff, trying to draw your hand free. Reaching out, you card your fingers tenderly through his hair, the ends still yet to dry. Did he jump in?
After a while, he wakes up with a start, eyes flickering to your face. A shaky sigh of relief escapes him seeing the tiniest of smiles from you, any prior sense of unrest vanishing.
"Are you in pain at all?" He cradles the back of your head, helping you sit up as you dangle your legs over the bed's edge, seated knee to knee with him.
"How long have you been here with me?" You sweep the fallen fringe away to the outlines of his face, fingers lingering against his forehead. "You should've gotten changed at least." Your hand falls back to your lap when you can see his eyes better, unshielded. "You'll grow sick at this rate, Jun-Hee."
"Says the one I'm stressing over."
"I'm fine now," you assure.
"Why didn't you wake me up as soon as you came to? Do you know how terrified I was?" His brows are furrowed in concern still, and you lift your hand again to smooth the crease lines away.
"But you rescued me," you speak quietly.
"I thought you were dying in front of me and that I wouldn't be able to save you in time. I can't lose you; do you know that?" His hand comes up to cup your face delicately, barely daring to touch it wholly, almost afraid you would disappear if he did. "You're someone I can absolutely cannot let go of." You don't realize you're crying until Jun-Hee runs his thumb over your cheek, wiping away the twin trails of tears. You're not usually one to cry, but in this moment, you were overcome with emotions. "Why are you crying?"
"I was worried. Not for me, but for you." His hands are shaking where they're pressed against your face. You put your hand over his, expecting him to pull away at your next words. "I know you like to avoid the water as much as you can after..." you trail off, teardrops still falling. "You willingly jumped in to save me when I know how deep-seated your fear runs."
He smiles sadly at you. "I found out that the care I have for you outweighs any of my existing fears." His hands have stopped shaking and you drag them down, yours coming along with it to hold them together. "I told you earlier to not go someplace where I can't reach you but after this, I'm willing to follow you to the ends of the earth. Even in death, as long as it's with you, I wouldn't mind the thought."
Your heart stutters in your chest at the sincerity of his words, and you know that your feelings for him would never fade. Not in this lifetime. "Jun-Hee..."
"Seol-Hwa? Jun-Hee?" Yoon-Seo's trembling voice has the both of you looking in her direction, but Jun-Hee is yet to release your hand.
"Yoon-Seo..." you reply, eased now that she's awoken. "How are you feeling?"
"I can't recall what happened at all." She holds her head, staring blankly ahead. "But somehow, I find I'd rather not remember." Yoon-Seo moves over to sit on your cot, back-to-back with you. The warmth radiating from her is welcoming. "Seol-Hwa, thanks for always being there. You're a good person through and through."
"Tell that to yourself." You smile and lean your head back against hers. "What are friends for?"
"Saving one another's lives now apparently," Jun-Hee jokes, lightening the atmosphere.
"Then I owe you one," Yoon-Seo continues. "I'll be your Superwoman next time."
"You and Jun-Hee really are like one another. What did you both do together when you were babies to make you fearless like this?" you question, exasperatedly fond. "Readily giving up your life for another person?"
"Only because we know you'd do the same. That kind of sincerity comes once in a lifetime."
The door creaks open just as Yoon-Seo ends her sentence, So-Mi's group filing in self-consciously, Jung-Won leading them in with her arms crossed.
"Apologize," Jun-Hee states emotionlessly. "Right now," he emphasizes, leaving no room for argument. "Pranks are supposed to be harmless, not harmful."
So-Mi grimaces at his harsh tone. "I'm sorry," she's quick to apologize. "Seol-Hwa."
She's not looking directly at you but past to the side of you, gaze straying to your hand in Jun-Hee's where he's absentmindedly rubbing circles with his thumb into your palm, not aware of his own actions. One corner of So-Mi's lip twitches, but aside from that, she doesn't comment on it. If the others have noticed, they don't say anything either.
"I'm not the one this should be reserved for."
You see her bite her tongue, annoyed at having to repeat herself once again, but not yet dropping her fake performance. Plastering on the most pitiful puppy eyes she can conjure up, she shifts her attention to Yoon-Seo, still pale. "I do feel guilty. We truly just wanted to wish you a happy birthday." So-Mi forces the waterworks on, squeezing one teardrop out at a time.
"I don't think I've ever been pushed into a pool as a birthday present before," Jung-Won mutters not so quietly under her breath.
Yoon-Seo elbows her subtly. "It's okay. Don't cry, So-Mi."
You and Jung-Won both whip your heads toward Yoon-Seo, in pure disbelief. Neither of you would've accepted that half-baked, insincere apology.
"Really?" So-Mi's eyes widen on cue, as if she didn't expect Yoon-Seo to be so pardoning. "Will you forgive us?"
"Of course, I accept. I'm alright now, so let's just put it in the past."
Jung-Won doesn't attempt to hide her distaste as she groans aloud. "Yep, totally fine. You just almost went and saw King Sejong is all."
"That's enough," Yoon-Seo whisper-yells.
"Alright, everyone out," Joon-Hee cuts in, feeling the tension in the room. "We'll all talk later."
So-Mi is the first to leave, unmistakably irritated and shamed at the same time. No matter how hard she tries to mask it, you see right through her well-crafted persona. Na-Hee lingers, the last one to exit. Before the door slams shut, she catches your eye, but in finding a look of indifference staring back at her, she turns away without saying a word, the light from the hallway dimming once more.
"That wench spilled crocodile tears."
"Jung-Won ah," Yoon-Seo expresses tiredly. "She said she was sorry."
"I don't care. It wasn't genuine. She acts up because you're the only one that gives way to her."
Yoon-Seo gets up to drag Jung-Won away and out into the hall as the latter begins to raise her voice. Their conversation lowers, but you can hear the last bit of it as they step outside.
"What would you like me to do then?"
"You don't have to do anything," Jung-Won reasons. "I'm only saying I don't tolerate her or her victim mentality, and neither should you."
"Shouldn't we head out too?" You turn to Jun-Hee.
He shakes his head lightly. "Stay and rest a bit more."
"I really am fine." You give his hand a squeeze in affirmation. Despite saying so, you continue to shiver in only your thin white button-up still damp in random patches from being submerged earlier.
Jun-Hee opens the backpack by his feet and tugs out his uniform cardigan, wrapping it around your shoulders. "Here, put this on. You're still cold to the touch."
"Then what about you? Sitting in wet clothes isn't comfortable."
"I have extras I brought with me." Jun-Hee's name tag still pinned to the sweater falls into his line of vision and he can't help smiling to himself that you haven't noticed it's positioned right over your heart. "Plus, it looks better on you anyway."
"It what?" You lean forward, tilting your ear in his direction, not sure if you heard correctly or if they were still water-logged.
"Nothing," Jun-Hee evades, suppressing his smile. It seemed too far-fetched a thing for him to say in either circumstance, so you leave it be, not wanting to wander down the winding paths of your own thoughts. He crouches down and draws the heel of your socked foot to rest on his knee, his free hand untying the laces of your shoes placed to the side.
"I can do it myself," you tell him, flustered from all the attention you were receiving.
Without looking up, Jun-Hee proceeds to put your sneakers on your feet. "I know you can." He goes so far as to knot them tight, tying bows on both sides. "But I want to do it for you." His fingers reach out to trace the shoelaces all the way to the ends of the aglets, remembrance in his eyes.
Embarrassed, you put your feet back on the ground but he looks up at you, eyes twinkling with mischief. "You kept them."
"Of course, I did." You gaze down at your shoes. "You gave them to me."
His own white sneakers come into view, and you wonder why you never noticed his laces, dyed in your favorite color, and yours in his own. "So did I. I didn't think you would."
"Why not?" You toe his shoes with yours. "Just because we made them during summer camp a few years back? A gift is a gift," you reply, nearly pouting.
He laughs at the faux cross tone of your voice, but as his eyes trail upward, the sound chokes and dies off at the end. "Uh...your shirt's now see-through..." He coughs awkwardly and stands up, looking away, a slight tinge of pink dusting his cheeks. "I'll see you out there." Jun-Hee picks up his backpack, hurriedly slinging it over one shoulder before turning to look back at you once more before leaving.
Only a short bit of time has passed, but the moment you step back out with Jun-Hee's cardigan on, you slam straight into Hyun-Ho. He steadies you by the upper arms, eyes widening upon seeing you. "Seol-Hwa!" Before you can react, he throws his arms around you and gives you the most suffocating of hugs, larger form squeezing you tight as his arms encase you, rocking back and forth.
"Hyun-Ho. Can't. Breathe." Your voice comes out punctuated, every pause a ragged intake of air.
He lets go soon after, yanking your head every which way to assess for any injuries.
"Ouch!" you exclaim. Hyun-Ho doesn't know how to control his strength so every pat comes out more like slaps. "Alright!" You try to push his hands away but they're hell bent on checking your well-being. "Ok! That's enough!" You say with finality, laughter bubbling up as your cousin continues to shake you around like a rag-doll. "Yah! If I didn't have any bruises, I sure do now!"
Hyun-Ho steps back, chiding. "Where's the thank you, huh?"
"For giving me new injuries?"
"Is that how you repay me?" Hyun-Ho scoffs. "I was the one who found you in the pool first."
"Y-You were?!" You splutter. "How come no one told me?"
"I said I found you. I wasn't the one who saved you." He shrugs like it was common knowledge.
"Aish." You shove his shoulder but he stands his ground, not budging an inch. "And you're thick-skinned enough to request a word of thanks?"
"Obviously." He flicks you on the forehead, drawing a scowl from you. "I went and got Jun-Hee for you."
"Ok, and...?" You're more baffled than ever.
"Geez, this ungrateful brat." Hyun-Ho tries but fails to hide his smirk. "Who do you think handed you over so you could be carried by Jun-Hee all the way to the infirmary?"
"What?!"
"You looked more comfortable in his arms than on my back, but really, it was no big deal." He shrugs. "All in a day's work for me."
"You—" you point a finger at him, gawking and at a loss for words.
"Also, nice change of outfit by the way." He raps his forefinger on Jun-Hee's nameplate, nails clacking on the piece of plastic. "I know it's your favorite brand."
You gasp as you finally notice, immediately unpinning the white rectangle and slipping it in your skirt pocket. "I'm going to kill him," you mutter under your breath.
"Why not kiss him instead?" Hyun-Ho jests, knowing well enough by now to evade your incessant slaps to his back, running down the hallway as you give chase after.
The two of you come to a stop when the rest of your classmates congregate from the other end of the hallway where Jun-Hee and So-Mi were making an announcement about retiring for the night and trying to contact the teacher again tomorrow morning.
Yoon-Seo taps your shoulder from behind and tilts her phone screen toward you where a timer has popped up.
Before anyone can so much as take a step toward their rooms, the intercom comes to life.
[ ᴠᴏᴛɪɴɢ ᴇɴᴅs ɪɴ ᴏɴᴇ ᴍɪɴᴜᴛᴇ. ]
With everything that has happened since you got here, the mafia game had slipped from your mind.
Suddenly, Yoon-Seo's meter starts counting down from 59 seconds, and with the ding comes a renewed sense of excitement from everyone around you, sleep long forgotten.
While Yool and his friends incessantly chatter away, trying to place blame on one another in good fun, you're the exception. Questioning the origins of the game, you feel a sense of foreboding, an ill-omened current in the air. You were known among your friends to have good instincts, but you hope against all hope that this time, your intuition wouldn't be true.
Jun-Hee walks over beside you, placing a hand on your shoulder that makes you jump out of your skin. "Seol-Hwa...? Did you hear anything I said?"
Hands trembling, you grip onto the rolled-up sleeve cuff of his shirt. "I...don't think we should've voted."
You eye the shaking numbers on Jun-Hee's phone screen, growing shades redder by the minute as it nears zero. He doesn't get a chance to reply as successive announcements come in.
[ ᴛʜᴇ ᴠᴏᴛɪɴɢ ʜᴀs ᴄᴏɴᴄʟᴜᴅᴇᴅ. ʜᴇᴏ ʏᴏᴏʟ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ ᴠᴏᴛᴇs ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇ ᴇxᴇᴄᴜᴛᴇᴅ. ]
Seconds later, Yool lets out a guttural scream of agony, clutching the side of his head.
"Oi, look at this kid. Gosh, he's just begging for attention again," Eun-Ha utters with clarity, unfazed by Yool's prankster tendencies. While everyone laughs at her statement and his actions, you study his face contorted in pain, veins popping up in his neck.
That kind of intensity isn't for show.
"Jun-Hee...Something's not right," you undertone tremulously, fingers slackening from the grip you had on him. The moment those words leave your lips, Yool falls to the ground, slumped over.
As his friends crowd around, Jun-Hee is rooted to the spot, intertwining your hand with his, holding on tight. You can tell he wants to go help as well, but he keeps throwing glances down at you and ultimately decides against it.
A sickening cracking sound has you sliding your eyes slowly over to see Yool's neck snapping rearward, the rest of his body contorting into a standing position in descending parts. Like a puppet controlled on a string, his limbs bend in odd angles, much more grotesque and inhumane compared to his earlier stint in the gymnasium. As his head straightens again, screams ring out down the length of the hallway.
You press yourself against the wall, finding it hard to breathe as you look directly into Yool's rolled eyes, now completely white, no irises in sight.
The White Butterfly's Murder.
You knew. You knew that butterflies were often seen in the spring as a divination of death, a harbinger of impending demise if it were to encircle someone while in flight. But to have it be white, the color of innocence yet also the color of surrender, you can't help but to wonder if these were all signs you should've heeded. Would we still have ended up here?
Eyes are windows to the soul, they say. Here, you realize, now stands a soulless individual.
Eun-Chan and Yeon-Woo have both fallen to the floor in a heap, staring up at their now unrecognizable friend with nothing but absolute fear in their expressions.
A mindless Yool throws himself side to side, intentionally crashing his head against pictures framed on the wall, glass shattering into a million pieces and raining the floor with shards akin to glitter.
But not all that glitters is gold.
You can't tell if it's the glass reflecting light, or if your tears are distorting your vision, but the scene hazes and blurs, turning into the illusion of a haunted nightmare you so desperately want to wake up from.
The horrific effect doesn't end there as Yool proceeds to crouch down and thump his head repeatedly against the floor, prostrating himself as if he's paying for sins he doesn't even remember; sins he can't even begin to atone for.
Blood is pouring in rivulets down his face, pooling around him like the expanding rings of a target, leaving only the center for his body to stay dead centered.
A broken sound escapes from your lips and Jun-Hee pulls you into his arms, shielding you against him, screening your eyes from having to look any further. Where your ear is pressed against his chest, you can hear the pounding of his heart, but even that sound alone is not enough to drown out that of Yool's head bashing against linoleum.
You squeeze your eyes tight, hard enough until you see spots, but these faint flickers of light are not lucky stars you can wish upon tonight.
If you could, you'd wish to be able to wake up. To start again from the beginning.
But you can't.
Rather, frozen in this cruel reality, you can only escape once you cease to wake up again.
And Yool does just that.
A thousand footsteps running toward a bitter end.
A crash as hope falls apart.
A thud to cease the beating of a heart.
And then...complete silence.
Before you lose consciousness, you feel that same vice-like grip from the pool return in full force, unbreakable chains around your heart.
This time, you're not sure anyone will come to your rescue.
This time, you don't know if you'll make it out alive.

Let Begones be Begones - Veritas Ratio
Where Ratio conceals his identity as a faceless and voiceless streamer, until he finally reveals himself to your surprise. College au! and also streamer au! Exes to lovers, reader is a bit sassy. ~1k words, SFW
a/n: i feel like i don't often write in ratio's perspective, so i wanted to give a go at it...

"FUCKING HELL!! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!!" The purple-haired man had heard through the thin walls separating your apartment flats. This had been the third time in probably an hour where your yells and screams had nearly broken Ratio's ears.
Yes, Ratio was a streamer himself, but at least he was courteous to his neighbours enough to use a text-to-speech application and an elaborately-designed model when streaming, so he didn't need to reveal his voice nor appearance. Hardly anyone knew about his job as someone who blabbers on the internet for money. Not his boring Architecture major classmates, nor his closest childhood friend, Aventurine.
One of the few people who knew about his side gig was the precisely the person living in the flat next to his. You see, you two shared the same passion for sciences and such, and ended up applying for the same major, which didn't end up very well, with a falling-out happening just months ago.
Ratio had seen you while throwing out the trash once, and upon his eyes meeting yours, his face morphed into a scowl that slowly spread across your face too. An eye roll was more than enough to show his dismissal of your existence, even after all the joyous times you two spent together. Or that time where holes were practically burning into his skull when he was presenting his "new idea of architectural geniusness".
He also knew that you two shared the same job, thinking nothing of it, as his method of earning money was too intelligent to not garner a few copycats here and there.
After a long day of studying and attending classes, turning his monitor on was the last thing Ratio wanted to do. Yet, he promised his viewers a "facecam" stream to celebrate his first year of streaming (which was also his first year of being stuck in ths terrible apartment complex). He did his usual routine of setting up his stream, with an additional flick of his bangs due to his first appearance as himself on stream.
Ratio went along with the stream as usual, doing his greetings, reading his donations, and throwing (jokingly) vile remarks at his chat. He wanted to get it over with as soon as possible, so with one last look at his phone camera, he turned off all his assets.
"Well, asides from me feeling extremely bare and upfront upon the eyes of you idiots, any thoughts?" Ratio spoke, his real voice unconcealed.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH- WHAT?!"
The man's head swiveled to the side in alert, eyebrows narrowing in annoyance. Your shrill shriek had once again assauted his ears. THE Veritas Ratio hadn't think this through enough, huh?
He sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat after the stream ended. Ears perking up at the loud knocks on his apartment door, Ratio dragged his tired body to the doorway, knowing full well that he would be bombardde with countless questions.
"What now?" He grumbled.
"YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU'VE BEEN HIDING THIS," your finger jabbed at your phone displaying his streamer profile, "FROM ME?" Ratio sighed, body practically slumping against the door frame. "Nobody said that being a streamer's exclusive to you. Now just- go back to your room before I slam the door in your face."
The realisation that you've been watching his streams was slowly dawning on his barely-function mind. Considering the type of content that he made which only appealed to a small audience compared to gamers or E-girls, he knew basically every recurring viewer.
Including the one who has been spitfireing snarky chat messages at him ever since the falling-out.
Oh.
It was comically ironic how Ratio was the one who ended up knocking on your door the next morning. He felt awkward, brain tingling from the predicament. This was the first time (not counting yesterday night) that he's talked to you personally in weeks, even months. His feet was tapping in impatience, hearing you stumble through your way to the door.
"Oh, it's you. What happened to wanting me to get out of your face?"
Ratio's fingers ran through his hair, strands of violet falling to his eyes. He was uncharacteristically silent, racking his brain for a proper reason that wouldn't make him lose his face.
"Well, I just- You know... Ugh! Why do you have to make this so difficult?!"
"I just... wanted to know why you decided to watch my streams."
You chuckled at his coy form, you wanted to burn it into your retinas. Not only because it was a very, very rare occurence, but also because you never wanted to let go in the first place. Ratio was the one who decided to break it off, saying that you were a distraction to becoming a greater scholar. You still remembered how hard you cried that night, and thinking back, he'd probably also remember due to how thin the walls were.
"Listen, it's not like I wanted to stalk you or something, I just happened to learn about it through a mutual friend. So if you're trying to manipulate me or hurt me again, today's not the day for it."
Ratio faltered. He didn't expect your sharp words to hurt this much. Each and every time he saw you in class, the deeper the hole in his heart would go. It's not like he wouldn't like to pursue you again, he was just incredibly scared. And knowing Ratio, he'd never admit to that.
You sighed, beginning to find the conversation pointless. You decided to turn back and return to your room to continue working on your essay. But before you could, a calloused hand grabbed your wrist firmly. You looked back to see Ratio with his head hung low.
"The things that you do to me... How come someone like me, someone who was born to use logic and reasoning, be so impulsive when it comes to dealing with you?"
You smiled, interlocking your fingers with his, gently rubbing your fingers on his callouses from writing and researching. He didn't disappoint you this time, and you knew that he wouldn't hurt you again.
You two shared a hug before you led him into your apartment.
"What's with all the mess? You'll never have a clear mind with such an unruly space."
Looks like he was back to his usual self.

Hi I was wondering do you write for Bobby Nash? If you do, I wondering if you can do something like the whole 118 (including reader) surprising Bobby with Father’s Day gifts and tho him a little party. If you don’t mind writing a little late Father’s Day special.
I think it would very cute bc we can all agree that Bobby is the Father of the 118 crew, and I feel like he needs to be appreciated more :)
I hope ur doing well and keep it up with the good writing, I love all of your fics ❤️
kids - b.n
summary: request :)
bobby nash x platonic!reader x the 118 being his children fr
a/n: i’m a little late to the father’s day game… but i hope you all had a wonderful day and i hope you checked up on those who might not be as fortunate that day <3 enjoy ml, thank you for this sweet request!
y/n had caught bobby just getting off the engine after a call, practically appearing out of nowhere to grab him. she brought him away and up the stairs, leading him to the kitchen.
when bobby walked in, everyone had been in there with small wrapped presents and gift bags. bobby shook his head, “what is all this, guys?”
“happy father’s day!” buck yells, blowing a little party horn as he pushes the gift closer to bobby.
everyone at the station considered bobby as their non-biological father. not a single day went by where bobby wasn’t by their side. he was their captain, but also their friend. bobby fought alongside all of them and they all fought his battles for him. he never imagined that he would have all these people who loved him after what happened. he carried crushing guilt and was prepared to leave it all behind, making it impossible to open up. everyone at the firehouse saved him in every way a person can be saved. he brought out the best version of everyone. he never gave up hope on anyone and everyone there couldn’t thank him enough. y/n was hired by bobby, being her first accepting captain who actually cared about her and the job. she was a light to his day, and his guidance made her a better worker and person. he was their number one soldier.
“bobby, you’re the dad of this firehouse,” hen said.
“you did not have to do any of this,” he says. as kind of a gesture as this is, it’s making him miss his own children even more. however, he didn’t lose all of his children.
“c’mon, cap,” buck speaks excitedly. “you treat me more like a son than my real dad ever has. and you didn’t have to do that. so, open these gifts right now!”
bobby takes bucks first, stripping the bag of the paper and taking out the figure inside. it was a bobble head dressed in firefighting gear, who had similar features to bobby. “where the hell did you get this, buck?” bobby laughs and grins.
“the internet is a very big place, cap.”
“mine next!” chim yells, practically throwing his box into bobby’s arms. when he ripped the red and blue wrapping paper open, it revealed a red tumbler with captain nash on it, along with an LAFD badge above it. chimney weakly taped a picture of his face onto it. “your coffee cups are practically all falling apart, so i wanted to get you the best one out there. and i added some personalization to it,” he winks.
“thank you very much, chimney,” bobby smiles. “i’ll always think about you with my coffee from now on.”
bobby receives an extremely lavish watch from ravi, and his face drops as he opens it. it had little designs on the inside of the glass. “panikkar! how much was this?”
“oh you know, just pocket change,” he teases.
he opens the rest from eddie and hen, along with a few other gifts he received from people. he saved one of the closest for last. y/n gently handed her gift to bobby and set it down in front of him. she had curled the ribbon and wrapped it almost perfectly.
laying on top of the main gift was an air freshener for his car, shaped like a turnout jacket and an axe. it had his name on it and was his favorite scent. underneath was a board, with clear wooden writing. it wrote, captain nash, a true hero. all the names were in a circle around the quote including, diaz, buckley, wilson, han, y/l/n, panikkar. there was small pin on the inside with the word hero on it. “it’s a good luck charm, from all of us. you can wear it on your uniform or whatever you want to wear it on.”
bobby had suddenly been overwhelmed from the love he had been faced with. it was something he wanted for years, but never thinking he was worthy of something like it. a few years earlier, he was ready to leave the world after making up for his losses. when hen and buck found him knocked out from the amount of booze he’d consumed, he knew people were on his side. he was the most they could ask from a father. his eyes became glossy, but he refused to cry any form of tears in front of his crew anymore, even happy ones. he forced a strong front, but the appreciation from his kids brought down the walls.
now, bobby walks into the station every morning, the pin on one of his pockets, his tumbler in hand, a t-shirt from hen or eddie, his new watch. lastly, of course, he walked into his office to see the bobble head of himself on his desk.
he wore all of these items as much as he could, every single one meaning more to him than words. he never thought of himself as a hero, but the complete opposite. everything he is given was a gift, and represents the pure love everyone has for him. however, nothing can ever beat the true family gift of the 118.

my first fictional crush was goku at age maybe 6.
the first fanfiction i ever wrote was FF7. the second one was DBZ. the third was a crossover between them both. i was like. 8 or 9.
in 5th grade, i got in trouble in school for passing handwritten DBZ fanfiction back and forth with the boy who sat front of me in class, and my mom refused to yell at me for it because she was glad that i was doing something creative.
DBZ was one of the things that my brother and i actually did together as kids. we were never close because he's 6 years older than me, but i have distinct memories of coming home from school and he'd be waiting with the next 3 or 4 DBZ episodes he'd downloaded from the internet, japanese fansubbed in english because the english dub hadn't released past the frieza saga yet. so i knew how the series went before any of my friends did. he would also go to chinatown in NYC and come home with bootleg fansubbed VHS tapes of DBZ movies. this was like circa 1999-2001. i still have them at my mom's house.
before i knew that cosplay was a thing that people actually did, i went as pan from DBGT for halloween when i was 12.
when i did find out what cosplay was, i was too afraid to do it properly, so when i went to my first convention at 17 with a boyfriend who did not want to go with me but i made him go anyway (it was AnimeNEXT 2007), i threw together a closet cosplay of a genderbent mirai trunks. and i actually found the fucking picture i took of it in the bathroom at my mom's house.
(that's the closest you're ever going to get to a proper face reveal btw lmao a 17 year old picture of me where you can see more of my tits than my face.)
i then went on to properly redo my pan cosplay, and i cosplayed chichi as well. took a picture at a con with a lil baby like 3 year old who was dressed up as goku. can't find it right now though.
in 2011, i went to anime boston with @feelboss and @theggning and drunkenly ran into sean schemmel (the english voice of goku) and somehow ended up on stage with him later that night, still wasted, at the hentai dubbing panel. faked an orgasm on stage for goku in front of about 200 people. my first fictional crush. probably the most iconic moment of my con-going days. i was 21.
the very first time i was able to use analysis of a character's arc to accurately predict their future portrayal in canon was mirai trunks. when his db super arc aired, i remember just being totally floored like, "i can't believe i actually called so much of this" -- especially considering the fact that DB never really had much of a reputation of being consistent.
i just have so many memories of staying up late with @godtier watching DB and shitposting and RPing bardock and raditz and trolling the fuck out of each other, and just
man DB was such a huge part of my life and just... felt like it was always there for me.
i don't normally mourn celebrity deaths, but i feel like i've spent the last 30 years of my life with akira toriyama. losing him hurts so much. it feels like the world has had a little bit of hope fade away from it. i have a headache from crying.
i know that i would always meme on you for forgetting your own characters, but... thank you, toriyama-san. for everything.

What's your favourite FNIN book and why?
IM GLAD YOU ASKED-
its 'trzecia kuzynka'!
it just really stands out of the series, starting with the setting: - instead of Warsaw, a big city, the whole book takes place in the polish mountains(which ones??? who knows. i dont). usually the action of fnin books takes place in a big city(there are exceptions to this rule ofc) but this time the closest urban area is a small town.
the feeling of uneasiness also shows itsel in the book's cast. in most books we have a bunch of reoccuring characters: felix and net's parents, teachers, classmates - but here the only other familiar person is manfred(and even still hes not as prevelant bc theres no internet and stuff). just like the trio, the reader doesnt know anybody. theyre alone. everyone and everything here is strange and the lack of familiar faces only makes it more apparent. theres also the fact that when usually the trio are the best informed and oriented people in a given situation, here theyre.... lost. everyone(alright maybe not everyone, but you get the point) has secrets and hidden motives.
another thing is how the trio separates - although thats not uncommon in fnin, the way they do it is dffrent from usual - instead of net and felix having another one of their dramatic breakups, its nika who distances herself from her friends. thats also another thing i love about 'trzecia kuzynka' - the way it focuses on nika and her relationship with f&n. the change of setting allows for the common 'what if people find out nika is an orphan' thing to fade into the background for once, wnich means theres room to explore other aspects of nikas life and personality. her lack of friends aside from felix&net, her emphaty and selflesnes, her persistance to do the right thing - all those qualities are allowed to shine here and its great!
this book subverts expectations of a long time fnin reader and it feels so fresh and unique beacuse of that. the way the tension gradually builds up as more and more weird things happen makes it so fun to read! and, in a truly shocking twist, morten isnt behind everything this time!!(i know, impossible). even the fact the trio is separated during the finale instead of sticking toghether as per usual - 'trzecia kuzynka' flips the typical fnin formula on its head and i love it.
the new side characters are pretty cool too! when i first read this book, i thought laura's very cool - and honestly i still think that - she has a motive here, shes doing her own thing, and also shes hilarious. the others are pretty entertaining too! oh, and how could i forget - the 'false trio'. oh my frickin god the reveal of them being secret fucking agents was glorious-
and one other thing i have to mention - the horrors. there are times while reading this book when i have to stop and ask myself 'wait.why is this actually scary.' in other books there are moments or longer scary scenes, sure, but the one is dripping with tension and anticipation from start to finish, and the finale is the perfect culmination of that. there are so many scenes that just stuck with me - the graveyard, laura's mam-moth(get it) story, the whole castle sequence(i was a bit uncomfortable tho..), the reveal of the giANT FUCKING *THING* UNDER THE HOUSE-, and of course the entirety of nika's side of the finale!
i have no idea what other people think about this book, but i absolutely love it!(crap now i want to reread it for the gazillionth time)
thank you for the ask!
#fnin#felix net i nika#woagh how did i write so many words this fast.#i. i have THOUGHTS about this frickin book. so many of em..#i really hope we'll get to see the false trio again one day. that would be nice i think#SHIT i forgot to talk about the third cousin herself...#buuut im kinda cautious about talking about her cause i dont want to accidentally say anything ableist. i dont want to get into all that rn#but i think shes great! the dream sequences especially give her a lot of depth#can you tell from this post wnich one out of the trio is my favourite?#i LOVE nika's portrayal in this book........#the other two are fine! i love them! but its nika time babey!!#WHY cant i draw her????? felix and net were really easy to figure out but nika is a pain in my ass for some reason. ughahghauhghhh#ask#miiight post a fnin doodle dump later beacuse drawing the silly fictional teenagers is way more fun than. yknow. doing math. in math class.

traumatised by the string of producers that have come and gone. i would like to remember, and also process all of it, so i can let it all go.
- jeremy: just unfortunately to conservative for bfm, with no solid knowledge behind some of his views. he was also older than my boss, and liked to group me and him as peers, so he never took a single word of my advice. i was also new at this point, and wasn’t leading him properly. we’ll get to that.
- kelly: stuff of nightmares. also my closest friend out of all the bad producers we had, so the fallout really made me angry at god for awhile. i remember endless nights of her complaining about being the victim, and me trying to make her see sense without having to tell her she sucked at her job. me trying to help her. me telling our boss to give her a chance and help throw cold water over her anxiety. me, dying, because i had nobody to count on and was taking on the heaviest shows. me trying to guide her out of her skewed perception of work. me dealing with her pride. her forcing me into a corner to reveal my wages and then using that knowledge to lord over me, and never take any of my advice. at this point, i wasn’t open with lynn yet and kept everything in. that’s one good thing that came out of this. i always tell lynn when someone’s being a bitch to me. but i never want to face this again. i no longer socialize with new producers on probation.
raaina: an example of what happens when people make personalities out of their mental illness, and don’t feel accountable for their shortcomings that impact other people. because if you blame it on your anxiety and suicidal tendencies, you’re not allowed to get fired for being unprofessional and irresponsible. she made me an enemy of people using mental health as a weapon. took more rest days than needed, and weirdly, didn’t realize she sucked. that’s what happens when your social circle are just people on the internet who don’t know you.
wan: as bland as they come. not as “notorious” as he wanted me to believe he was. his word, not mine. outside of work, i really don’t care if someone’s thinking does not go beyond superficial levels, but god i will tell you now that having a man like this on the team, who was reluctant and perhaps too prideful to be shown the ropes by me, was difficult. he ended up having health issues, right before we could give him the criticism we had geared up to give him.
- hannah: the only one that i tolerated, which forced me to think about whether i can only tolerate incompetence if self-awareness and the ability to accept that, is added to the mix. who knows. i wish her well. i hope she finds people to talk to her that aren’t her family. we all need perspective.
- alena: a close second to kelly, but thank god i didn’t care about establishing a relationship with her. from what i could gather, all she does is brag about her father and her desirability. i’m not sure what kind of journalistic training she received in her previous jobs, because it doesn’t show. and she was the worst at communication, preferring to work alone. and if you’re smart, that’s fine. if you’re not, you’re constantly making the show sound horrid. also, like kelly, super defensive when i call her out for missing deadlines.

Alice Everleigh is a Witch
June 8th, 2024
Chapter One: Insert Chapter name here.
There was a noise heard around the world. It was a strange symphony of oddball sounds like a thick rubberband twanging mixed with piano keys being tossed down a flight of stairs. It was sudden, and brief and everyone heard it.
There was a separation, between what seemed to me the rest of the world, at least the part of it online, and my small town on people’s willingness to talk about The Noise. Tiktok, the website formally know as Twitter, and even Instagram seemed filled with speculation. People posting ideas of what could of caused it, making memes, sampling in music, and even the hashtag #TheNoiseOutfit popped up. I spent a week scrolling through outfits that made up the tag. There was anything from what people actually wore when The Noise happened to what they planned on wearing if or when the noise came back. There were people wearing a variety of springs and accordings and other noisy things to jokingly appease our new sound based overlords to people wearing sexy clothing planning to seduce the sound. There was a tiktok that had been viewed well over 10 million times of a man holding a microphone up to an adorable all black kitten with large yellow eyes and asking “Please reveal the secrets of the universe to me,” followed up by a close up of the little kitten wearing a blank expression and The Noise playing. This the closest explanation that anyone had, and there was a weird sort of comfort in it. What the hell was the noise? Oh it was just cats. There were other explanations, dozens of youtube videos with consperiasy theories. Everything from aliens, to the rapture, to a noise the CIA was trying to cover up was offered up, but the one people clung to, that turned discomfort and unease into humor was the cat video. Humans love cat videos. At least on the internet they do.
Offline and in the small town of Moss Haven, Ohio things were different. When The Noise happened it was a Monday afternoon, during the last week of school. It was so abnormal that it halted conversation about graduation, college, and summer plans for students. I asked several teachers about The Noise and some offered general guesses (radio waves was offered, Mercury entering retrograde too soon, my favorite was the very tired English teacher suggesting it was a mass hallucination because no one on Earth is getting enough sleep) but mostly I was told to drop it. The topic was banned in school by Tuesday and by Wednesday the official White House response was that The Noise was the sound of space debris bumping into the moon and the echo could be heard on Earth. By Thursday a person who was involved in virtually every single aspect of life in Moss Hollow passed away and that was it. No one wanted to talk about The Noise anymore and anyone who tried was promptly shut down.
By Saturday, the first day of summer, it was time for my Grandmother’s funeral. The Shadow Hills Catholic Church was packed with the Moss Haven residents from her various organizations. The reception was held in the well manicured gardens behind the church. It was a beautiful summer day, and it seemed like most people would rather be anywhere but at a funeral.
The funeral was the easy part. I just sat with my stone faced family at the front of the church. We all just listened to people talk about a woman that I only had a handful of unpleasant interactions with. By the dry eyes of the funeral attendees I couldn’t help but think the most of them felt the same. Grandmother, by all accounts I had herd so far, was a miserable person.
The reception afterwards was the hard part. For me. And only me. The church gardens were packed with people, eating, laughing, knowing how to communicate with eachother without be awkward. My existence felt awkward.
Moss haven was tight knit town where everyone knew everyone. My mother was surrounded by a group of women with similar outfits and similar hair cuts all with variations of quality and color. They stood right by the set of stairs that led into the church parallel to the tables lined with food. Anyone one heading in or out or to get some food would have to stop and acknowledge my mother and offer up their condolences for her loss. I lingered nearby, piling mac and cheese onto my plate listening to her conversations.
“I bet my mom would be thrilled to know that her funeral not only was held on the first day of summer, but effectively and utterly overshadowed my own divorce. I had to drop everything to plan her funeral.” My mother sighed resting her nad in her palm, “Its just so frustrating.”
“I can’t believe what a hypocrite she was, honestly,” One of my mother’s friends drolled, “I remember her snapping at me for smoking outside the grocery store on three seprate occasions. Turns out she smoked so many cigrattes that it killed her. I bet she wouldn’t love everyone knowing that about her.” The woman laughed together but the sound died down slightly Father Grimes approached.
“Again, my condolences, Melissa.” The priest took my mother’s hands in his, and she nodded solemnly, “The loss of one’s parent is a terrible thing, but it is inevitable one also.”
“Thank you father, for your kind words.” My mother gave his hands a squeeze, “I’m just sad we never made up. She’s been out of my life for nearly eighteen years. She never really got to know my children. I always thought someday… but someday never came.”
Father Grimmes gently patted mother’s hand, “Valerie,” he said referring to grandmother, “was always a pious woman. Rest assured that she’s at peace now, and one day the two of you will be reunited.” The priest, still with my mother’s hands in his smiled, “Perhaps when the time is more appropriate we can discus plans your mother had made for her inn.”
“What plans for the inn?” I asked. My mother, her friends, and the priest all turned to stare at me. I could feel pin prinks of heat spread from my cheeks up to the tips of my ears at effectively admitting to eavesdropping.
The priest dropped his hands to his sides, “Your grandmother wanted to give it to the church. We were going to convert it to a catholic boarding school.”
Nervously I flicked my eyes up to the hill where a giant victorian building sat. It was the building which my grandmother lived in her whole life. She and her sister helped run the in with their mother. And my great grandmother ran it with her father. The inn was passed down for generations. In the history museum there was a chart dating the building owner ship back to before Moss Haven even existed. It was one of the oldest buildings in the area. It was the oldest business for sure, till grandmother shut it down and let no one near it.
“Really, did my mom promise you that?” My mother gave the priest a half smile, “Nancy Beaucannon spoke to me about turning it into a country club. And Mayor McCormick wanted to buldoze the building and turn it into a luxury resort.”
Father Grimmes paled, “Well, yes. I pray that you consider all your options, Melissa.”
I paled too. For different reasons. I set down my giant plate of macaroni. At some point apparently I just kept piling it on without realizing it, and now it was just a giant cheezy glob that glistened with grease and… were there olives in it? Uck, potluck chefs. I suddenly wasn’t in the mood for food.
I passed by groups of people all talking, and laughing. It seems now that the funeral was over, the reception had become a huge town wide social event. I tried to slink through the crowd without being seen. Realistically I knew not a soul would pay attention to me, but there was something so vulnerable being alone in a crowd. From a far I spotted my dad who was sitting at a table surrounded by his coworkers and friends. His hands were waving around animatedly as he talked about…. I paused to listen,
“The gilded age contained such beauitiful ariteture. Everything was ornately designed- at least for the uber wealthy. But as a historian I must remind that such structures were made possible by such a huge wage gap disparity. The very people who built such mansions would be the same people who would never be allowed to sleep in them!”
“Are you saying that is directly related to today’s style of mansions?” a colleague asked.
“Not at all, but also yes!” My dad’s glasses slid to the tip of his nose and he excitedly as added, “There is a very similar wage disparity today, but I would say that as more people embrace the ability to create their own ideal interiors-there is a rise in Do It Yourself decore as well as huge thrifting market-the more the uber wealthy embrace minimalism. Oh hello, Everleigh.” Dad pushed his glassed back up his nose and offered me a smile.
“Hi dad.” I replied, part of me though of sitting in the safety of my dad’s presence. I’d fell l “Where is Vivian?”
“She’s with your friends,” he pointed towards the edge of the garden where a group of people gathered. In the center was a slender framed girl with large gray eyes and chestnut colored hair that was down to the small of her back. It was always so strange to see my own face move around the world with a such a stern expression. Vivian always was so serious. Her eyes met mine for a brief second before she glanced away. I narrowed my eyes. She was pretending she didn’t see me. It made sense. She was with her friends and boyfriend. They definitely weren’t my friends. They hadn’t been in awhile. At least now that we wer graduated I wasn’t forced to be with them.
“I’m going for a walk,” I told my dad. There was a walking path behind the church. Moss Haven was surrounded by Ohio’s Metro Parks. There were trails weaved through out most of the woods in the area. They were mosty just dirt paths formed by millions of shoes walking through the beautiful trails, trees stretched overhead only letting shreds of sunlight through their leaves. The trails were mostly brown, save for those green, green leaves. Aside from the trail, the land was covered in a healthy layer of leave litter this time of year. Occasionally there were spots where lilies poked through the ground, or a clearing filled with grass but mostly brown leaves. Every so often there was a scurry from under the pile from a chipmunk or a squirrel, or the hoof beats of a deer. The majority of sound was coming from birds. So many birds. All trilling and chirping and cawing and every single one was singing. I paused along the trail to take a deep breath in and listen. The air was clean and fresh this far away from town. Not that Moss Haven smelled bad. Rather it smelled like bread. Which made sense because a crossed the Cuyahoga River in the middle of town was the bread factory. Which made bread. Bread factory.
But the air in nature smelled of moss, and leaves, and the streams the were nestled among the hills and fizz. I opened my eyes and took a deep inhale. There was definitely the smell of fizz. It was as if someone had opened a thousand cans of pop at once. But with rather generous hint of floral perfume. And slowly it was drowning out the smell of the woods. I took a few steps along the trail but something was wrong. I had walked these trails for most of my life. I was familiar with them.
Where there was suppose to be a straight line that lead towards town was sudently a fork in the road. One path seemed gloomy, the leaves and trees faded away towards a hedge lined path and cobblestone road. The side of the path rose up to a grassy hill barren of trees, instead there were sparse grave stones. The hair on my neck stood on end. There was a pull to this path and the closer I got to it, the more I could feel… fizzy. Thousands of inviable bubbles were popping against my skin the longer I looked at the path, the more the fizz sensation encaplated my skin. The sound birds was gone, replaced by what seemed to be millions of glass beads beating against eachother.
The other path was a river. The trail split off and led into golden colored waters with petals floating a its surface. This path at least seemed to have trees, though the bent together over the water, branches joining together to form a ceiling. The aroma of roses and lilacs wafted from the river, which was odd. The flower petals drifting along were purple wisteria petals. I could tell because they were dripping from the walls. The tree walls. I was standing on dry land, but my body was being to fee waterlogged, heavy and stiff. Far off in the distance I could hear windchimes.
Two unfamiliar, impossible paths lay before me. Both clearly having a strange effect on me. Which one? Which one? Which way should I go? Down the path of darken skies and graveyard hills or down the path of golden waters and leaf canopies? My mouth went dry, my feet shuffled foreward. Pick one, I had to pick one. I drifted towards the fizzy, gravelined path, its pull was stronger.
“Everleigh!” A familiar and welcome voice shouted, “Everleigh! Where are you?” My heart beat a little faster. I forced myself to blink, letting the pull of the paths fall away. Carefully, I reached down and pulled my phone. I stared at the pathways through the screen of my phone. The draw of them was still there but less strong. So I photo graphed them.
“Everleigh!” The voice of my best friend called out.
Not wanting her to be pulled in by these strange and unusual trails I yelled back over my shoulder, “Coming!” When I turned back the walking path had returned to normal.
Kat Bennette had been my best friend since I was six years old and her family moved to Moss Haven. Prior to highschool Vivian use to be her best friend too. She was the only person I felt comfortable around, and that would listen to what ever I wanted to talk about.
On the day of my grandmother’s funeral I found her on the edge of the forest, “There you are!” She smiled, “I didn’t want to walk into the woods on account of-” She gestured to the green chiffon dress that matched her emerald braids.
“Wow, it hasn’t even been twenty-four hours since we graduated and you already got new braids!” I gasped.
“My aunt came over, and she and mom helped me get it done. Sorry we didn’t come to the funeral. You know how my parents feel about Catholism.” We started walking back towards the church gardens. The air was hot, and worse, humid. When we left the shade of the trees it felt almost oppressive.
“I know how Father Grimmes feels about people who don’t attend his church coming to Shadow Hill’s Church events. I’m surprised he let my dad in.” I replied.
“Well Niles is probably did all the event planning,” Kat replied, “You’re mom was never good at that kind of thing..” Her voice trailed off and she stopped in place, glancing towards the vegetable garden surrounding but a fence to keep the deer from eatting the plants.
“The tomatoes are droopy.” Kat pointed at a sad looking plant that seemed to buckle under the weight of its green tomatoes. I squinted past her finger toward the other side of the fence where a face identical to mine stared back. I stared back at the gray doe eyes currently narrowed into a displeased frown.
Now it was my turned to ignore her. I turned toward my attention towards Kat who was unlocking the gate and letting herself in. She bent down and examined the sad and droopy plant before glancing up around the rest of the garden. Her eyes landing on a large, thick oak.
“There!” She pointed towards a large stick that had fallen off the tree resetting between to branches, “I need that.”
“On it!” I grabbed the closet branch and pulled myself up. The leaves rustled as I moved slowly, making my way gently to the stick. When I reached it I pushed it off the tree, “Look out below!” There was thud as it hit the ground.
“I got it! I got it!” A blond boy with a permanent smile etched on his face took bounding steps towards the stick, “What do you need it for?” He asked, handing it to Kat.
Kat pulled the stick through the gaps in the fence and carried the it to the sad tomato plant. She pressed it gently deep into the ground, “I wanted a support for this guy, anyone have a hair tie or some string I could use?”
“Oh!” The guy, my sister’s boyfriend Kyle remarked excitedly, “I have my tie and my back up tie. My dad always expects me to lose them.” Kyle Edison never really knew what was going on, but he was always eager to help out. Almost everything he did, he did it with a smile plastered to his face.
“That will work,” Kat took them from Kyle and tied the less sad looking plant to the stick, “There! Thanks.”
“Kyle, you’re so sweet to help them.” Amber Beacannon stood beside Kyle. Her silky red hair shined in the sunlight. Amber was once my friend. Amber was also a mean girl. Not the kind you’d find in movies or tv shows. There were no overtly witty one liners or a tragic back story that made her sympathetic to the audience. No, Amber was subtle.
Her eyes slowly glanced me up and down, a small formed on her lips, “Alice-Everleigh I almost didn’t recognize you.” She smiled, but the smile was directed at my sister and her two other friends. There was barely contained snickers. My sister’s face remained neutral. “You’re dressed so… Plainely compaired to normal.”
“Frog overalls!” One of the other girls giggled, referring to my often worn overalls that indeed had a frog on them.
“Funny,” replied Kat as she exited the vegetable garden, “Because you look the same. Even now, at a funeral, your outfit looks the same as it always does. Good for you for maintaining such consistency with your looks. Do you think entering college will prompt a change in both your wardrobe and temperament?”
Amber’s eyes narrowed at Kat, who turned towards me, “Have you eaten?”
“Uh, no.” I glanced at from Amber to Vivian to Kyle. Kyle was busy looking at the tomatoes through the fence. I spared the plant a glance, it was indeed looking less sad. The little green tomatoes already looking a bit more red and ripe. I turned back to Kat, “I could eat.”

I feel so sad man…the way Dream gets treated by antis, former fans turned antis and just outsiders in general who don’t care but just want to participate in the hate train makes me feel so sick. I understand that not everyone is going to like Dream or has to like him, especially those who have been affected by his past actions or when he’s apologized for said actions haven’t accepted them, it’s those peoples rights who are personally affected to make that decision for themselves. But it just makes me so sad that so many people still make him out to be such a vile person when it’s so clear that he’s changed so much for the better. I guess it just makes me sad when people don’t take the time also to maybe clear up misinformation and just fully believe everything they see and hear about him to be true…he has been so fucking dehumanized, especially being faceless for so long that people still even to this day post face reveal don’t look at him like a person. I guess just coming from a place of loving and caring about him so much, being a fan of his, it’s just so hard knowing that I and so many others know just how much he pours his whole heart out to everyone and everything he does despite the fact that so many are undeserving of that sentiment and empathy, especially with how he’s been treated for so long and still continues to be for this day. But despite all of that hatred and the vile way he’s been treated he still is so loving and compassionate and takes the time to learn and listen and change, and even when people fuck him over he still gives them the benefit of the doubt and tries to patch things up and find out why and what he can do to fix things even when he shouldn’t need too. The fact that he still continues to only try and spread kindness and positivity despite so many constantly giving back the complete opposite in return, always just makes my respect and love for him grow. It just makes me so fucking sad to see him barely get that same consideration and time and kindness in return and yet he still goes on so positively and strongly…I really genuinely don’t know how he does it half the time, because with the way he’s treated and perceived and just constantly the internets punching bag just makes me so fucking sad for him. The fact that him, his family and his friends have all had their lives threatened due to this hatred…I just can’t even begin to comprehend how he does it. How he remains so big hearted and loving and kind and just so understanding. It just makes my heart hurt so bad for him like I’m crying typing this. And maybe this whole thing is kind of parasocial but god I just want to give him the biggest hug and tell him how important he is and how loved and strong and beautiful and kind he is. And I know he probably knows that he has a huge loving and supportive community who adores everything he does and just him being him, but god I wish I could just show him that times a million. For someone who has been faced so much hatred and threats and just beyond vileness and lack of empathy, you would never even know because he continues to pour his big heart into the world despite everything. It just makes me so sad. That’s why I’m so glad for those closest to him, for George and Sapnap, for the munchymc crew for his family, and that he has that closely knit support system and I just hope he knows how loved and appreciated he is.
#so sorry for the long fucking rant#I really need to stay off Twitter#just seeing these vile nasty tweets and that 20k likes and more sometimes and all on just spreading hate and vile things#just makes me feel so sick#why would anyone want to spend their lives constantly hating on someone…how miserable are these people#I don’t know if anyone will see this and maybe it’s a bad idea to post this but oh well#I’m just so sad#I’ll probably end up deleting this but god

Babybump
WARNING: Fluff, a hint of angst, cute
Pairing: Pedro Pascal x You (Reader)
Wordcount: 1.4K
Note: Not betad, all mistakes are my own.
"Hey, I love you writing and I was wondering if you can do a Pedro imagine where the reader is pregnant and like they didn’t announce it or anything and no one knew about it till they were seen in public. You can change it up if you want! Xx✨"
Okay, I am a slut, not even gonna try and hide it. As this was a request, I wasn't sure if you wanted smut or not, so that's why it is in two parts. Part one is pure fluff and no smut. Part two however is a smutty scene for those of you who wants to read about how they conceived the baby.
Enjoy! 💛
Part 2
Masterlist

You are nervous. It is obvious by the way you cling to Pedro in the backseat on your way to the gala. Your fingers intertwined into his big hand as you fiddle with the hem of his suit jacket.
He is nervous too, not because people will probably speculate, but he worries about you. The news is big, but neither of you like it when the media tries to poke into your private life before you are both ready to reveal it. It will come out eventually, but you want it to be from you and not rumours and pictures roaming about.
Your family and closest friends know. You chose to break the news three weeks ago. You remember the tears in your mother’s eyes and the warmest hug from Pedro’s father. But what truly stuck with you, was the moment you confirmed it to Pedro.
You knew for about five days without telling anyone. Pedro was away filming but had managed to squeeze in a night with you on a rainy Saturday. You had planned to go out for dinner, but in the last minute, chose to have a pizza and movie night. Cleaning the dishes from the pizza and preparing some snacks in the kitchen, you decide it was time.
You turned to him, biting your lower lip and he knew there was something immediately. At first, worry painted his face and he had walked over to you and wrapped you in his arms, kissing your forehead softly and asking what was wrong.
Tears were prickling in your eyes and as you looked up at him, more worry grew and you couldn’t help but feel happiness fill your chest, knowing this man was the father to your child.
A smile stretched across your face as tears escaped the corners of your eyes and you told him.
He was frozen, scanning your face and he went through all kinds of emotions before his eyes crinkled up into a bright beam. He pulled you in, holding you tight to him while murmuring all kinds of sweet words. Kneeling, he snuck his hand under your t-shirt and spread his hand across your belly, warmth filling you up. “Our baby.” He had whispered before looking up at you with tear-filled eyes.
You had made sweet and passionate love that night, his focus on purely satisfying you over and over and over again.
Pedro catches your chin and tilts it up to meet your eyes. He notices the worry in your eyes and gives you a gentle smile. Carefully sliding his hand further up, he graces your cheek with his thumb before tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “You look perfect.” He smiles.
You smile back at him, feeling a lump of worry surge in your belly. You know you could leave whenever you want to, Pedro had even offered to not go at all. A part of you wants everyone to know, but another wants to keep it a secret for as long as you can.
The car stops and your heart skips a beat as our stomach feels with dread. Your fingers grasp onto his hand, you almost missed the worried look on his face, his eyes scanning your features.
“We don’t have to, my love.” He whispers, gently stroking the back of your hand.
You shake your head. “I know, but I can’t avoid it forever.” You gulp, staring into his eyes. They crinkle at the gentle smile. He leans forward gently peck your lips, leaving a lingering touch on you.
As you give him a nod, he opens the door and gracefully climbs out before holding out his hand to assist you out. You place your hand in his and plant your feet on the ground before he pulls you gently out.
As soon as you were both outside, flashes and yells from the paparazzi filled your ears. Trusting Pedro to lead the way, he guides you onto the carpet and pulls you close to him, his hand resting on your side as you both face the paparazzi. From all the comments, none of them mention the tiny bump on your belly.
You sigh out in relief and feel more confident in your posture, straightening your back.
Pedro immediately notices and glances down at you with nothing but love in his eyes. His fingers twitch into your flesh before his thumb strokes up and down, bringing you more comfort.
~~~~~
You lay peacefully in Pedro’s arms, the morning sun peeking in between the curtains and a stripe of warmth licks your leg as it rests over Pedro’s hip. You listen to each other’s slow and steady breathing.
He had apologised for waking you up when he pulled you to him that morning, but you didn’t mind at all. It is where you belong, close to him. He left a few soft kisses on your forehead while you lay there resting, enjoying the calm morning. But the calm is interrupted as both of your phones won’t stop buzzing.
Pedro sighs, knowing exactly what all the texts are about. He had peeked at his phone before pulling you in, several messages commenting on today’s news. He had hoped it wouldn’t turn into something, but here you both lay, you – wondering what it all is about, him – wanting to shield you from the storm.
“Pedro?” You breathe, your eyes looking up at him from behind your eyelashes. “What is going on?” You have a feeling this is about last night’s appearance, but you wait for him to confirm it.
He looks down at you, a calm smile painting his lips. “Nothing we have to care about for now, my love.” He presses his lips to your forehead and nuzzles you closer to him.
You sigh out and drift off in his protective arms, knowing whatever is going on right now, didn’t need your attention.
~~~~~
He looks handsome, his calmness and confidence match great with his casual outfit. His hair slightly tussled from dragging his fingers through it again and again. You like his natural curls mixed with his grey peppered beard.
His eyes are resting on the woman sitting in front of him, but every time he glances at you, it fills you with butterflies. It’s not too obvious he is looking at you, as you’re standing a few strides behind the woman, listening to the ongoing interview of his newest movie.
“So, for some other big news, which I hope you can confirm for us, Pedro. A month ago, the internet went crazy over some new photos and headlines of you and your fiancé. Speculations of a potential new family member surged through several social medias. Could you perhaps talk a bit about that? Is it true?”
You knew the question would be asked, Pedro’s agent had agreed upon it before the interview took place. Pedro had asked you several times, if you wanted to go out with the news. You were a bit hesitant at first, but then again, might as well get it over with.
He gives the woman a smile before his eyes immediately seeks out yours, nothing but love is filled within his gaze. “It is with great pride and joy I can confirm my beautiful fiancé is carrying our future child. She is doing an amazing job and I can’t wait to become a father and see her be the mother of our baby.”
Your heart beats faster, tears brimming in your eyes as he speaks warmly of your future family. You know he is looking forward to it, but to see him like this, confirming the news and not leaving your sight, makes you warm from head to toe. You want to rush over to him, hold him close to you, but knowing interrupting the interview is not a good idea.
You wait patiently until the woman thanks Pedro for the interview. He immediately gets up from his chair and walks up to you, wrapping his arms around you. He kisses the top of your head several times and you wrap your arms around him.
“I will forever mean it, my love. I can’t wait to see you be the mother of our child, to carry them, to feed them, to help them grow up. I know you’ll be the best at it and every obstacle we face, we will face them together.”
You pull him tighter to you, a tear escaping the corner of your eye. “I love you.” You mumble into his chest.
He buries his nose in your hair. “I love you too.” He whispers.

for the ship thing, walt/skyler?
I regret to inform the internet at large that I did, in fact, kind of ship them. Everyone else in the fandom out there defending their right to ship Walt/Jesse and I'm over here in my weirdo corner defending Walt's unhealthy, toxic relationship with his for realsies wife.
There's never a moment in BrBa where I didn't buy their relationship and the history between them, which I think is really key to making the entire premise work. You had to really understand why after she finds out about his criminal life Skyler doesn't just turn him in and they sold me on it. It was a masterstroke to make it motivated not from fear (at least at first), but from her love of her husband, her sentimental attachment to the image of their family she wants the kids to have, and her own natural pragmatic nature.
my favorite or a defining moment
Their defining moment is the phone call in Ozymandias. I don't think anything more encapsulates their relationship than that—the fact that Walt has utterly destroyed their lives with his selfish actions but is also heartbroken over Hank's death and is completely willing to take the fall to protect her and in spite of everything they've gone through and the deterioration of their marriage and souls she knows him well enough to understand what he's really doing and lets him know she understands. Runner up is the conversation after he collapses on the bathroom floor and asks her if she's glad he's finally dying Anna Gunn's face :(
My personal favorite moments were all in late S3 early S4 when Skyler pushes herself into his criminal enterprises against his will and becomes Walt's naggy concerned mafia wife. The scene where she comes over to his condo and he tries to hide his blackeye with the door frame never fails to crack me up (I find her protectiveness of him weirdly cute.)
My favorite moment is when they're lying in bed together after the awkward (but kinda hilarious) re-consummation of their marriage and just having super banal domestic talk (Skyler pointing out she's gotten a haircut and then laughing when Walt says oh, yeah, I was definitely going to say something about it :')) and then Junior comes home and they're trying and failing to hide that they had sex from their disgusted teenage son. It's the closest the show ever got to family comedy/fluff.
whether they’re wholesome (affectionate), fucked up (affectionate), fucked up (derogatory), or boring
They veered into fucked up (derogatory) in early S5 and kind of never really left that place (though at least he finally stopped lying to her) though they did have some genuine moments of honesty in the latter half of the show.
a song I think captures their essence:
Poison and Wine by the Civil Wars
A Sister Ship
Uh Ozai/Ursa from ATLA tbh? Ursa and Skyler are both on board with murder if it means the safety of their children. Also Lord and Lady Macbeth, which I'm pretty sure Peter Gould straight up compared them to at one point. what kind of AU I’d like to stick them in
One where he doesn't kill Gus, because that's the moment where their relationship went from high-key dysfunctional and effed up in an entertaining way even though you know it's unhealthy to just...terrifying.
I've always liked the idea of AUs where Skyler somehow gets to spend time with Jesse/teams up with him, because Walt spends so much of the show trying to keep those two apart from each other lest they reveal all his weaknesses/sins, and I find the idea of them double teaming him hilarious because you know Walt would hate it. I kind of wrote that in Spin the Gun but I've thought of other iterations of that I like.
Now I'm picturing some weird AU of the end of S4 where Walt successfully gets the family to the Disappearer and when Jesse shows up too because he doesn't want to be left behind by Mr. White Walt convinces her to let him be part of their new assumed identity family.
Bonus: They aren't on my top ten list, but they were the only romantic relationship in BrBa that I actually had a strong investment in.
#ship asks#skyler white#walter white#walt x skyler#breaking bad#brba#they had a lot of scenes i liked tbh the one at the beginning of end times where he sends her into police custody#corgoship

Imagine Pedro being teased and questioned about how close he is with you, Gal’s adopted sister, and trying his best to hide the fact that you are actually dating.
“So, Gal, I am going to direct this question mostly at you but of course anyone can get to answer. I actually wanted to know your opinion about it.” Conan said, as Gal herself nodded her head with a smile.
“Oh, please, with pleasure.”
“There have been several photos, and I do not mean just from paps or professionals. Even you on your personal instagram posted a few. Which, to say the least, broke the internet as we all saw.”
“Yeah uh truth is my instagram wasn't working for several hours afterwards and I thought it was just me but then I kept asking others and got the same reply from everyone! Turns out, we caused a blackout of sorts.” Gal laughed, admitting to it before looking away in embarrassment while the rest of the cast nodded their heads as if almost giving her a a playful glare, even through the screen of the computer.
“And the reason behind that, who would have thought, a couple photos!” Jimmy nodded his head “Your sister, your adopted sister (Y/n), came to visit you on the set of Wonder Woman 1984. It was, for lack of better words, a historic moment not just for instagram who crashed because of the popularity of the photos but also for comic book fans worldwide. It was the closest we could get to a Marvel and DC crossover.”
“You say that because she was in her costume in some of them yeah?” Gal asked with a bright smile, always loving to talk about her little sister as Conan nodded his head “Yes, it was (Y/n)'s idea and everyone knows it, I can never say no to my little sister. Plus, she was right; we had so much fun fooling around in our costumes! I had more fun than I've ever had on a set of a movie before. And, yes, I almost always enjoy the movies I'm in, but this one- this one was truly something else! We- almost everyone, I think, played along as we acted as our characters and filmed some scenes just for laughs. I really really hope they make it into the bloopers somehow.”
“So you're planning on taking down youtube next, I see. I see.” the host nodded his head with playfully narrowed eyes, seeming all suspicious and making everyone laugh.
“No, no I swear! I don't want to!” she said in between laughter “We all had so much fun and an amazing time on set and in front of the cameras, playing superheroes that it would be incredible for the fans to see! It's- Really, it is kind of an unofficial crossover that should make it to the internet at least!”
“I'll have to-” Patty spoke up “I'll have to give it to Gal, she is right. (Y/n) had this amazing idea and creative at the same time because she had a small plot in her mind and lines and everything concerning the set. We all did a small setup and filmed it and, honestly, it came out to be real good!”
“Patty is no even exaggerating and Gal is certainly right. We had so much fun filming that small crossover, and (Y/n)'s ideas were brilliant! Fans will definitely love it!” Kristen said in addition.
“She truly is an incredibly talented, smart and creative person, besides an absolute darling. So kind to everyone and sweet, we all couldn't get enough of her. And-” Patty raised a finger “I will say it here once more because Gal has heard it before: the fastest we've filmed a scene in this movie. And it was all thanks to how professional she was, it was truly incredible!”
“Well, I can't ever deny it, my little sister is the biggest star there is! Oscars or other awards aside, she proves how great she is on every set on her own!”
“And you are definitely her biggest fan, as we all can clearly tell.” Conan pointed out with a small laugh “Speaking of, I think we do have someone who could only be described as your main rival on that sweet stop of being your sister's number one fan. Someone who hasn't been shy about expressing his admiration about (Y/n) but who has yet to utter a word.” Conan looked back up from his papers and said someone almost felt his heart jump in fear and nervousness, hoping that at least nobody noticed that he was indeed being silent for a reason “Pedro, you're being uncharacteristically quiet about this one, especially for something that caused Instagram to crash within thirty minutes of the photos being uploaded. I'm not- I'm not used to this from you. Come on, talk to me. Say what's on your mind.”
“This is oddly- I'm getting strange deja vu vibes here. Must be cause of that one time I visited a therapist. Long story short, it was only one session for me and about hm at least 25 for him. I heard he's still going to a therapist now.” he shrugged casually, earning laughter from everyone. He chuckled slightly himself, glancing over the screen of his computer while trying his best to keep anything from showing on his face even more so his smile, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I mean-” he cleared his throat “Ah man, what else can I say? The ladies have spoken, and they've said exactly what- I believe anyone that gets the opportunity to work with (Y/n) or watch her movies would agree she is one of a kind.” he shrugged softly with an adorable smile “Besides, it feels like anything I say is just going to be used against me, so I- I better keep on silently observing. That does seem like it's the safest option here.”
Pedro's laugh was more of a nervous if not awkward one, but he was pretty confident it was just no different to how he would usually laugh away questions he didn't want to answer in interviews. Most celebrities did the same, he wouldn't be the first nor the last, so he didn't expect Conan to insist any further. He didn't want to push his luck, he had been really successful (if not blessed after all these close calls) with all these online interviews to not have everything revealed by accident, so now especially with the current topic, he didn't feel like messing things up. He loved this privacy, he didn't want to lose it not yet, he wanted you and this all to himself for now. And he wanted the story of how you met, of how over that one month and a half on set he felt himself fall in love with you.
And yet... Yet, he was probably a weak man, a man who couldn't help but indulge even if he knew it could probably get him in trouble. You were worth it, though, you were worth all of it and as you were his weakest spot and so indulge he did. He slowly chewed on his lower lip and he so subtly looked over the screen of his computer.
His eyes fell on you, still splayed on his bed, book in one hand and steaming mug on the nightstand – your nightstand on your side of the bed, the thought of which made his heart flutter inside his chest – hair slightly messy, that oversized Mandalorian shirt on, which you'd gotten all excited amongst many many more fandom related toys a couple months ago and couldn't wait for him to see. A shirt which had, inevitably, ended up being taken off you barely ten minutes later starting from him stealing kisses and leading to the two of you making love till the very morning in between endless giggles. The pup you'd gotten – the both of you – not so long ago made a small noise drawing your attention for a short moment as you kept petting him, the both of you too tired to do anything else after an exhausting day of playing. Pedro couldn't complain, although he'd been a part of it he had mostly spent time filming everything even if you hadn't been the one to ask him to, he couldn't help it.
It was something that the both of you decided on and although you hadn't said it out loud, you both knew and at least Pedro hoped, that it was the next step, a very important one, in your relationship besides you moving in with him. To be responsible for another living being together was, if not a test, at least a way to see how well you could cooperate. And, if he could say so himself, you had been doing great so far.
“Good morning, darling. Here for morning kisses? Yes? Come up here.” your giggles were able to warm him more than the sunlight coming through the window “Ooooh someone really loves mommy, don't you?”
And then your words set his entire being alight. Or more specifically that one particular word.
“Well-” he stretched a bit, his arms finding your waist again to bring you closer and cuddle with you “Who doesn't love mommy in this house?” he couldn't help it as his smile turned into a lovestruck grin “Morning, mi amor.”
“Good morning, darling.” you pecked his lips “And don't worry, mommy loves daddy back, enough to make up for the rest of the world.”
As if reading his mind, you chose to look up from your book at him, smiling as you held his gaze for a good few seconds. So much love was evident, even in those few seconds, he could almost feel his own heart burst. Yet another reason for him to control his reactions from showing just how much on high on happiness and love he was. You shook your head, eyes wide as you heard Conan speak again, you playfully mouthed to him “Focus!”
As subtly as possible he tried to clear his throat and taking the mug of coffee that was beside his computer, he took a sip and decided to focus on it as much as he could. Until the subject changed, at least.
“...Wise man. I feel you, so don't worry I'll leave you to it.” if only he knew the big sigh of relief Pedro tried to hold back as Conan continued “It's the tactic I follow 99% of the time when I'm out with my wife, just smile and wave kind of thing. Alright-” he nodded his head in thought “Alright, well, let me ask you all something else. You keep saying in front of the cameras and talking about this small crossover, but I assume she must have been around for longer than that, yes?”
“Yes, yes she was there for at least a month, a month and a half I think. She was on vacation, after being done with filming, and she decided that before heading home that she'd come by and visit us. It was meant to be for a short period of time. She loved the place... the people, perhaps, how could I know for sure?” she shrugged not looking innocent in the least bit, earning a few laughs.
“Anyway-” she cleared her throat “And you see before she knew it, before we all did, one week turned into two turned into three and so on. It-” she chuckled “She was around on set and with us on all those beautiful locations we were in. And while we were all working and walking around with purpose and the need to finish this scene with so much pressure on- on our shoulders and she was just sitting around with a iced coffee or tea on her hand, sunglasses on and phone on the other hand looking she didn't have a single care in the world. It kind of made everyone a little bit jealous to be honest.”
“A little? Cause I sense that there's more than you're letting on, Gal. Come on, spill the tea.”
“Alright more than a little.” she laugh “I mean, it wasn't all the time, of course. Just the first couple days mostly but you can imagine how it was. It seemed like she did it on purpose sometimes.”
“Twistin' the knife even deeper, that's what she's best at. Oh I know!” Conan nodded his head “I'm actually afraid to invite her on the show because I fear how bad she'll roast me. Andy-” he laughed “Andy is the only one who has the most fun during those interviews.”
“I know right? Boy you tell me!” Gal exclaimed “That little shit. I adore her to no end but I really had the hardest of time when she was around. She just had to make comments on everything she could, especially when I was acting. I couldn't stop laughing sometimes, but nobody got mad at her. It was always my fault somehow!”
“I mean she's just so sweet, how could we be mad at her?” Patty added.
“She messed up so many of my scenes!” Gal pretended to be angry but her smile gave it away “But it's true, I couldn't even be mad at her. I don't get to see her that often, because of the work we both do, so I would give anything to have my sister with me like that every other chance I got. Even if I got all the blame for it, there's nothing I wouldn't do for her, you understand.”
“Aw that's- that's incredibly sweet, actually. It's- that's the exact opposite of me and my brother so no I can't really understand to be honest, but alright.” Conan laughed “Well, then, you really got your chance this time, right? You had the opportunity to spend all this time with her. When you were not working of course.”
“I...” Gal trailed off, her smile turning into a mischievous one but the rest of her expression trying to remain innocent, and failing at it because she truly wasn't even trying “Well, I would say yes. And I would agree with you. And I would even ramble about the wonderful two months I spent with my sister... If that had been the case. If I had really seen her for more than a week total, then yeah I would say that.”
“Wha- P-Pardon me?” Conan blinked in surprise “Didn't you j-just say your sister was with you on set for about two months? Or have I been in a parallel universe all this time and I just now came back to our reality?”
“Oh no it's very much our reality but I also did mean what I said. My sister was on set, and I did see her quiet often. But did I spend almost all of my free time with her? Did she spend hers with me? Nope. And that-” again with a far-from-innocent shrug “That is probably the only question I can answer. What she did? Did she have fun?... Who she was with? I wish I knew. What I know is I wasn't the one closest to her on set.”
“So you're telling me, (Y/n) was on set full of people she didn't really know, and you, her sister, barely spent any time with her? I'm gonna assume the rest of you didn't spend more time with her compared to Gal, right?” he asked and got nods from everyone, well, everyone who had their eyes on their screen and therefore looking at Conan, because there was still one that would avoid eye-contact even through the screen “Well, then, who was closest to her on set, if not you?”
“She, well-” Gal paused, smile all too sweet as she added “There could be someone...”
Said someone who couldn't even look up from his mug of coffee, as if it was the most interesting thing in the entire world, and didn't dare say a word for fearing of messing things up; even if his silence spoke volumes as it was. A silence which was... even more intense than before. Even more... real. Probably because it wasn't just in his head, probably because it wasn't just from his part.
Blinking several times, he slowly raised his head to look up from his mug and at the screen of his computer. Only to be met with the eyes of the rest of the group staring at... well, they were staring at the screen of their own computers but for some reason – a reason which he knew all too well – he felt like all eyes were suddenly on him. And they probably were. Because Gal was being nice about it but almost everyone had noticed how much time you had spent with Pedro during those almost two months. You had just met back then so they didn't imply anything back then but now... now they could just as well do so.
“I-” he laughed and he hated how nervous he sounded “Is it time to talk about my character?” he asked almost shyly, nearly praying on the inside that they would say yes and let him change the subject “Well, Max Lord is a guy who-”
“Are you trying to change the subject there, Pedro? One can wonder why.” Conan narrowed his eyes “Come on, don't be shy. Share your opinion here, or maybe your personal experience. Since I am assuming you do have one?”
“Yes, Pedro, why don't you share your opinion with us?” Gal raised an eyebrow, small smirk on her lips “You've been particularly interested in that drink the past couple minutes apparently.”
“I-” Pedro paused, before shaking his head with a laugh “This is going to be a long interview. I can tell.”

You ship Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan?
This ask is a little old, but still relevant, so I may as well answer it now, after they had another interview together.
The short answer would be: no, I do not.
----- ------- -----
Here's the long answer.
First and foremost, I genuinely think that other people's lives and relationships are not my business, even when they are celebrities who often share their stories with millions of people. It doesn't really matter to me if they are just friends, or if they date, or if they even want to be together. Whatever the case: it's not my place to look for the answer unless both of them would want to willingly share something about it with the audience.
And what they shared so far is that they are very close friends who like each other a lot since around 2016. That's what I believe and I'm okay with knowing only this much. It would feel wrong to dig and try to learn more if they don't want me and other viewers to do that. (And I'm pretty sure they don't, because from what I've seen both Anthony and Sebastian are very private people who won't reveal much about their lives if it's not related to work.)
I'm fully aware that none of these men (despite the jokes) spends their evenings looking through tumblr and reading old posts in the Stackie tag. They're probably unaware of the majority of this fandom and what's going on inside of it. So it's not like I'll personally offend them with making an invasive post about their relationship and get 43 notes. But I still feel like making big assumptions about what they feel to each other and overanalysing every move they make to prove my fan theories would be generally disrespectful - no matter how close I'd be to the truth in the end.
That being said: of course I very much enjoy watching the parts of their friendship that they make public. It's obviously mostly interviews they've done together, becaue they had to, but it's still nice to see. Partially, because they're funny and chaotic, but also because I feel like the relationship they have is something pretty rare... I wanted to say "in showbusiness", but honestly "in general". They just fit nicely together and it simply works for some weird reason. And watching other people being happy in each others' presence is usually great. So that's what I do.
Sidenote: despite being very talkative I'm generally very shy and emotionally reserved even with my friends or family, so it's fascinating for me to see two people who just casually show each other so much appreciation and affection. It took me nearly four years to finally call my closest friend "a friend" and these two just throw compliments and "I love you's" around like it's nothing. If one day we learn that they've been married since 2018 I would be like "of course they are... that makes sense". (And then I'd move on wishing them well, because it's still their life to live, not mine, so I don't have to know everything.)
----- ------- -----
Finally... I'm not going to call out anyone who actually ships the actors. I kind of want to, but I won't. (At least not personally. If someone still seriously ships real people in 2021 after all the discussions about "why it's very wrong" I don't think there's much hope for that person...) Sometimes I see posts about it and I just pretend I didn't, because they're usually pretty rude. If I were a famous person I would feel very uncomfortable knowing that people on the internet speculate about my relationships or imagine weird sexual scenarios about me. Not only because I'm aromantic and asexual, but also because we don't even know each other, so it'd be really objectifying and dehumanizing. (And it works the same way for the actors in question. These are still real people we're talking about.)
Also... At the end of the day, if I want to see a romantic relationship between people who look like them I can just read about Sambucky. It's not why I like the ship, obviously, but it's there for me and anyone else to enjoy. And if someone really needs to have two men with the faces of Anthony and Sebastian being romantically in love they can just watch tfatws and go to Ao3 for content. No need to drag the actors into this one.
I can be happy about the romance between the fictional characters and a friendship between the real people who play them at the same time. I don't need to mix the two.
