Season 2 as a whole sucks and gets rid of a lot of character depth that characters had in s1. But this post isn't about that-

I was recording clips for an edit, and you know in ep9 s2 when Stolas tells Blitz about "you couldn't be bothered to come save me"

Yeah.....Blitz TOLD him why he was unable to go and save him. He was even genuinely concerned and sent milly and moxxie in his place

You wanna know what Blitz said??

"Ah shit Stolas I can't today- I'm sorry I am literally on my way to take loona in for her very important hellvis S-H-O-T" and "it takes years to book it, it took 5 for me to get this one"

Aka, a rabies shot, which, racist will immediately kill you. You DON'T survive that once you get it and symptoms start showing up, it's a death sentence, and considering Loona is basically a sentient/anthropomorphic dog, if she catches it her survival rate is probably 0 percent

And you know what? Stolas gets it, and then in ep9, "the one who tried to kill em and you couldn't be BOTHERED to come help me"

Bitch he told you?? He sent people in his place?? He was getting his kid a really important shot?? Yiu selfish motherfu-

This is just the finale straw for me that breaks the camels back tbh like......

Apology tour is just, Stolas and the narritive/writing basically gaslighting Blitz and its gross

I liked Stolitz and Stolas in s1, it wasnt a healthy relationship. The circumstances for both characters weren't super good, but it understood that and actually showed those flaws, It set up these characters future arcs

Season 2 is, frankly, a shit show. It has its moments, but ep1 ruined Stolas and Stolitz for me, and it just keeps on getting worse and it isn't even in a way of "Oh its rough, but they can bounce back

This is gaslighting. This is hypocrisy. This is guilt tripping. This is abuse.

Instead of building off of season 1 it is retconning it, it is destroying the continuity and timeline, it's making these characters so much worse then what they were

Instead of having Stolas face actual consequences for his actions the narritive is backtracking and going "Oh actually its not his fault" over and over again

Oh he cheated in the marriage? No worries Stella is a bitch so it's okay

Oh, he's neglecting his daughter despite them already having this arc? Oh, it's fine she just needs to cut him some slack

Oh he constantly belittled Blitz and made him uncomfortable in season 1? Actually it was all of Blitzs fault for misreading the signs of love!

He is constantly shown looking down and abusing other imps like his butler? Oh its fine, they aren't the main characters so what he does to them isn't important!!

Another thing is that Blitz tells Stolas how he feels. He points out his shitty actions. And what does Stolas do? He fucking cries like Blitz is being a big ol means for no reason

This trial is just going to further victimize him and make him seem in the right. The fact the sins might even be brought into it is also so fucking stupid.

The writing went from a 8 to a 1 with the characters. And it's only a 1 here because there are some good ideas in s2.

Their basically trying to cover up, retcon, Stolas's actions instead of having him deal with consequences and go through real development

Honestly the best ending for Stolitz would be Blitz realizing Stolas is toxic as fuck to him and just, not contacting him again. Stolas could get some real consequences in that trial and move on and become better in his own right

Butttt of course since Viv likes them so much it's gonna be dragged on for fucking seasons and then their gonna get together.

If I were to rewrite the season, I wouldn't even try to rewrite Stolitz.

Posting my copy of the original Prime opening of Alex Rider s1 ep1 because I've noticed that the original season 1 is no longer included in Prime and there's some interesting differences. There's a lot more shots of Yassen and the Parkers in this version. (Until about halfway through this clip).

Other differences to my memory (please add if you know more because I'm trying to remember):

Freevee adds an extra line from Alex to Ian in the car ep1 "You drive like you're 80" - this isn't in the original and is the one difference I prefer, the original has a few more establishing shots throughout - usually just one extra except for this scene I think, in ep3 the freevee version completely changes what Alex says to Fiona at one point in the pool scene - Freevee version almost seems dubbed (its odd), the original here is a lot less weird - probably my least favourite change.

This opening scene's differences seem like just a different cut or different editor working with the same scene choices. The ep3 dub is the most confusing to me because it seems like a conscious choice to make Alex more of a douche lol which doesn't fit in with his character elsewhere. You drive like you're 80 being cut in the original is odd to me because it leads perfectly into Alex being confused he was over the speed limit later on, it also gives us an insight into Ian and Alex's relationship more with Ian's fond smile and the way Alex says the line

Wanna ramble about a moment/character in ninjago you think people need to talk about more?

I don't know who you are anon, but I'm glad you asked!

I am desperate for people to character-analyze Wu. I'm desperate for a lot of character analysis including Nya but since I got a lot of my Nya feelings out with some lovely folks the other night (edit: the other night was a month ago dw about it. this took a minute) I'm going with Wu this time

Master Wu to me is such an interesting case of a character who it is so easy to ignore the bits of the show that hint at his wider issues and traumas. He is a man defined heavily by his family and by his past. A lot of criticism he gets, I think, is due in part to that.

I've mentioned before that I've been rewatching S1 with a friend of mine and intermittently pausing to infodump on them about interesting character things I notice from that season. A lot of that has been Wu-focused because despite having seen RotS dozens of times throughout my life (watching it on CN, watching it on Netflix when only it and Legacy were around, rewatching it with friends) I have only just started noticing the seeds of character written in.

I might also just be reading too much into things, but hear me out

In S1 (and by extension, the pilots), Wu is characterized as your typical old wise teacher. In the first few minutes of EP1: Rise of the Snakes, he is chewing out the Ninja for playing video games instead of training. The line he uses? "Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today."

It's a line that gets repeated throughout the series. In fact, it gets repeated that very episode when the ninja go (pun not intended) to fight the Hypnobrai and a literal pre-teen. At first, it seems to just be a piece of wisdom. Some old proverb Wu's picked up over the years, possibly one he even coined himself. However, in EP7: Tick Tock, Wu tells the story of who, possibly, first told him this.

It was Garmadon. Now, I'm not gonna dwell too long on Garmadon, if you spend five minutes talking to me you'll learn he was the first character whose story I obsessed over and I want this essay to be about Wu, but I think he plays a role in Wu's overall story, as does Wu's family as a whole.

Prior to this, Wu and Garmadon's relationship has been more of a sibling rivalry taken to a good vs. evil extreme. We didn't know why Garmadon was evil and we didn't know about Wu and his relationship as kids. However, this scene establishes the backstory. They were, as Wu puts it, "the best of friends." That is, until Garmadon gets bit by the Devourer going to get the katana Wu lost.

Now, I know the Devourer bite was destined to happen because of the Overlord or some shit, but Wu doesn't. As far as he's concerned, Garmadon getting bit was a direct consequence of both his mistake and his cowardice. He lost the katana. He was too scared to get it. Garmadon went over instead. Garmadon got bit.

The scene goes on to show the FSM tending to Garmadon in the aftermath. Wu is watching from behind the door, likely told to stay back, but concerned. And in his POV, we get this intense moment, where Garmadon turns, looks directly at him (his eyes turning bright red for the first time), and says "It's all Wu's fault!"

(This clip should begin at the start of Wu eavesdropping. If it doesn't, skip to 0:58. I highly recommend also paying attention to Wu's body language during this scene.)

The camerawork does a great job of showing how this probably felt for Wu. It zooms in, Garmadon's voice echoes, and the background blurs. We see in the flashback that this is a moment Wu has etched into his memory. Not to mention, he was likely a very young child when this happened. LEGO characters' ages are weird, but Wu in this scene has the Big Eyes, which always seem to be used for characters under 12. We don't know exactly how much older Garmadon is to my knowledge, but he doesn't have the Big Eyes, so he's probably closer to 12 and a few years older than Wu for sure.

Imagine that. Being in elementary school and your older siblings gets hurt. They're acting strange. They're lashing out at your father. Then, they blame it all on you. They're hurt because of you. Wouldn't you internalize that?

I could go on about Wu's relationship with Garmadon, but again, I think I've spent enough time on it and I don't want to only focus on that. It's an important part, but there are others.

Let's talk about Wu's relationship with his dad.

Now, I have not yet read the Spinjitzu Brothers series. I cannot speak to any development of Wu and the FSM's relationship in there. I have, however, read The Book of Spinjitzu and blogged some of my thoughts on it here, including some of what it says about Wu.

For those who haven't read it, first, there is a Google Drive folder floating around with all of the canon spinoff books/graphic novels in it. Here's the link if you wanna read them!

The FSM is an... intriguing figure. I mean, in the series he's basically god? He made the entire world. That's already a very high bar to live up to. Then, in Book of Spinjitzu, there's a few specific parts that, when I read them, signaled that Wu internalized a specific message when he was young.

Wu does not want to disappoint his father. It is up to him (and Garmadon until he turns evil) to "uphold the legacy of Spinjitzu" and, by extension, his family. He says he was "very young" when this was explained to him. Considering he seems to already be training at an elementary age, "very young" means VERY young.

Here, we again see Wu being very aware that he has some large burden to carry. Something else interesting here is that the thought of the Green Ninja Prophecy is already weighing on him too. His considering if he might be the Green Ninja is of extra interest because of how the Green Ninja Prophecy and the--I wouldn't call it obsession, possibly fixation?--with who it is factors into his later actions, but we'll get to that later.

This one in particular gets me because it comes after Wu mentions Garmadon becoming more evil. It is a statement of power. Wu knows that the legacy of Spinjitzu now rests in his hands alone. He cannot let himself fall the way Garmadon did. He cannot disappoint his father. Whether or not the FSM intended it, Wu always knew the fate of the world rested, at least in part, upon his shoulder. He knew this from the time he was a young boy and it remains in his mind to this day.

Now, these quotes are indirect, but they all point to one clear idea: As a child, Wu internalized the idea that he alone is responsible for keeping Ninjago safe. He will play a pivotal role in its history.

There's not evidence in this book that the FSM's was a bad father, per se. However, just because one doesn't set out to harm their children, doesn't mean they won't. I often say Wu has an "Atlas complex," which I have no idea if it is an actual concept but use it to refer to this idea. Wu feels as though he is responsible for holding up the world, much like Atlas. He must keep the balance, he must solve the Green Ninja prophecy, he must make his father proud.

I'm going to get further into what this means for Wu as a teacher to the current Ninja Team, but for now let's look at Wu's first foray into teaching.

Morro. Wu's Biggest Mistake.

That might seem like an overstatement, but it's not.

Okay he says regret, not mistake, but I was paraphrasing.

Let's turn back to his quote about his destiny. Wu writes, "Is my life's mission to be the Green Ninja? Or maybe it will be to find the Green Ninja and protect him (or her)??"

From a very young age, Wu was not only aware of the Green Ninja but prophecy but also thinking about his place in it. We see this again when he takes Morro in and trains him.

A big thing Wu is criticized for here is making Morro believe he is meant to be more. That he is the Chosen One. And Morro, being a young homeless orphan just now given some semblance of power and protection, latches onto that. And I can see it, but when you take into account the above that he was trained from (likely) a younger age than Morro and given a similar level of responsibility, it becomes more understandable. Wu is just doing what he was taught. He doesn't believe that he is harming Morro until it is too late.

This is the entire story, but I'm specifically going to be discussing 1:36 onwards here. I also wanted to add that rewatching this scene made me lay down on the floor! What the fuck! But I digress.

There's a lot going on in this scene. For one, Wu washing his hands of Morro in some ways, but not others. He turns his back on Morro when he tells him that destiny has decided, but looks at him again when Morro storms out. He goes to save Morro from the Grundal, but decides that he cannot "teach those who would not listen." Most importantly, when Morro leaves to go find the Tomb of the FSM, Wu leaves the door open. He waits for Morro to return, but never goes after him. And Morro never comes back.

Wu gives Morro's fate a dismissive response at the end of his ghost story ("I am saddened he was banished to the Cursed Realm") but it's clear he still cares deeply about him in the finale of the season.

Wu's VA in this is phenomenal btw. That "Please Morro!" and "MORRO!" make my heart ache.

Morro believed Wu stopped caring, but he didn't. Even after all he's done, even after trying to destroy all of Ninjago--destroying what Wu had spent his life trying to protect--Wu tries to save him. He begs for Morro to come with him. Morro refuses, Wu watches him perish.

Someone else Wu is close to is gone. Wu again considers himself responsible. Everything is his fault.

And finally, we reach Wu today. A cautious, secretive man. He loves his students, this much is clear. Even as early as the pilots, he drops his wise teacher persona to joke around with them.

As with Morro, he trains them like his father did him. He even uses the same methods his father used when he trains them.

While he is hard on the Ninja, wanting them to succeed and training them to help defend the Realm, he lets his guard down more than it seems he did with Morro. He also learned a valuable message from his experience with Morro when he hides the Green Ninja Prophecy from the Ninja, getting angry when they start to push themselves in the same way Morro did upon learning about it. It's clear he doesn't want a repeat.

Now, I can't speak for later seasons (I will eventually) but this fear of repeats, his students going down a dark path because they're tempted by power or greatness, losing someone else, likely drives Wu not telling them other important information. That is just a passing thought though.

Final notes:

I'm currently in the process of rewatching S7: Hands of Time. I actually got this ask right after finishing EP68: Scavengers, which opens with Wu having a nightmare. In it, he and Misako are walking outside of Yang's temple. While walking, Misako delivers this line in response to Wu reminiscing about the time they've spent together:

This line, to me, is Wu's subconscious trying to tell him something he needs to hear. It's hinting at what might be his greatest flaw. Wu is haunted by his past, by his mistakes. He finds it difficult to tell others because of both his guilt and his desire to not put that worry upon them. In this very season, he makes the mistake of trying to face his past on his own, and he nearly dies for it.

In the same episode, you see Wu trying to make sure Lloyd doesn't make the same mistakes.

Wu stresses the important of the team. It's as if he sees Lloyd blaming himself for what happened to Wu, sees him doing the same thing Wu has, and is trying to prevent him from doing the same thing. This is further emphasized when, after Wu falls asleep (well, fakes falling asleep), Lloyd says "Wu's mistake was going in alone. So was mine."

Master Wu is, like many characters in this show, someone who is more complex than meets the eye. He is not just a wise, old teacher. He is a man who, throughout his life, has made mistakes and carries the weight of each of them on his shoulders. He is a man who tasks himself with making up for those every day. He is a man who wants better for his students, his family.

Until the day he dies, he will guide and protect his students. And possibly? Even after death too.

So I’ve watched a good chunk of seasons 3 and 4 of Laramie as well as a few from season 1 and I am now gonna make it all yall’s problem and bless you with my commentary and clips from each episode, enjoy I guess 😂

Without further ado, S1.EP1 Stage Stop

Not the outlaw being upset they spelled his name wrong in the newspaper 😂

Jess’s introduction to Laramie was absolutely terrible, poor guy just got shot at. Absolutely love how he just ignored the lawman when he was told to stop though, a very Jess thing to do 🤣

Jess and Slim’s first meeting is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Let’s take a look at it, shall we?

I mean the first shot alone where they show the sign “Sherman Ranch, No Trespassing” and then cut to Jess just lounging around like he owns the place 😂 

And the dialogue:

Slim: What’re you doing here?

Jess: Gettin’ a crick in my back!

Plus this gem:

Jess: I had 3 or 4 swallows out of your private stream. My horse helped himself too, so you just figure out what I owe you, and I’ll be on my way. Oh, and uh, I looked at a bird flying over. Will there be a charge for that?

Look Jess I love you so much but who gave you the right to be so freaking sassy 😂 (we adore him for it though) but Slim had valid concerns, I see both sides of the situation here. I mean Jess, you should’ve read the sign, and I can see why Slim is wary of strangers, but I too would be ticked off if someone just showed up and was holding me at gunpoint

Overall I think this first meeting went really well you guys

Andy is so flipping adorable and I would die for him, the way he just gets along so well with Jess right off the bat 😭 10x funnier that he’s Slim’s brother though 🤣

Look at the racoon! And the way Andy washed his food for him 🥺 it's so cute how this little gesture shows how much he knows about animals and how much he cares for them

When Jess dozed off and Andy came in and startled him and he just whipped around with his gun and when he realized it was Andy and he was so apologetic 😭 but just gets me thinking about Jess being a loner and a drifter and being so used to looking out for himself yet still being so compassionate to this kid he just met. He’s so good with kids and I think it’s just darling seeing him interact with Andy and later on Mike.

Ugh I’m having so many Thoughts on Jess’s childhood, of course they are of the angsty variety, all prompted by these lines of dialogue (putting them in different colors so it's easier to differentiate between them):

Andy: Jess, how old were you when you first went out on your own?

Jess: Can’t hardly remember when I wasn’t on my own, like Jeremiah here and Sam. Only I didn’t find a soft touch like you. Maybe I didn’t want one. 

Andy: Do you like it better alone?

Jess: It just worked out that way.

Andy: Don’t you get lonely sometimes?

Jess: You get used to it.

As if these lines weren't heart breaking enough, Jess's tone of voice and facial expressions just really added to it. Yes there will be fics in the future no I do not need more wips

Jess had a fractured skull you say?? *adds to list of details to keep in mind for later*

Look at them playing cards together <3 yes I totally get that Andy's complete and total willingness to trust anyone who comes along is a bit concerning but it's also so sweet and I just love how he interacts with Jess

The way Andy was just working up the courage to ask Jess to take him with him and Jess being so gentle and telling him maybe when he’s older their relationship is everything you guys 😭

I know at times Slim seems a little harsh on Andy but he really just wants the best for him and it’s sweet. 

Love how Jonesy just deescalates the situation so smoothly and just calmly drags Slim away 😂

I’ve noticed that Jess gets called saddle tramp an awful lot so I’m starting a running count, we are currently at 1

Jonesy saying Slim is just a kid is just… it’s kinda funny but at the same time - how do I want to explain this? - like Slim is out here saying Andy needs to get things figured out, needs to become a better judge of character, and then Jonesy is just like “you’re figuring things out too pally. you’re responsible for your kid brother now and you still got some things to learn” You can see that Jonesy knows Slim really well and I love their dynamic

Jess was so ready to end Slim right then and there 😂 what can I say, I like my men violent 🤣 seriously tho the fact that Jess and Slim were just constantly beating each other up throughout this entire episode before they decided to try running a ranch together is the funniest thing

Everything about Bud Carlin irritates me, the way he speaks, the way he moves, his whole demeanor, I just hate it 😂

When Carlin’s asking about how long it takes the stage to get there once it’s in sight and Jonesy’s just out here throwing in a bunch of random circumstances to avoid answering 🤣 and then Carlin gets so irritated that he decides to ask Jess instead lol but Andy just immediately telling him what he wants to know so Jess doesn’t get hurt 😭 bless his little heart AND JONESY REACHING HIS ARM OUT TO GRAB THE GUY WHEN HE WENT TO PUNCH JESS Jonesy's a real one

When Jess and Andy are out in the barn shoeing the horse and Andy tries to grab a rifle and Jess stops him cuz he didn’t want him to get hurt 😭

Oh when Carlin makes Jess punch Slim in the face… like we know they were about to go at it when he walked in but now Jess is like no way, the friendship is progressing you guys, and poor Slim was just like "do it", somebody get this poor man some ice and an ibuprofen

But as soon as Carlin makes Jess hit Slim that third time he turned on Carlin so fast

Andy’s voice was almost breaking when he saw Slim laying on the ground and he was trying to wake him up and it almost broke me 😭

The way they all go to check on Slim as soon as the guy leaves the room 🥺

Andy was just begging Jess to go with Slim so that he’d have some help and Jess wouldn’t go and then Andy has tears in his eyes and says “No wonder you travel alone, who’d wanna team up with a saddle tramp like you?” nooooooo 😭 I really act like I’ve never seen this episode before also Jess saddle tramp count is now at 2

They really just threw that guy out of the stagecoach, that wasn’t very nice

JESS CAME BACK yes I already knew this would happen, hush your timing is impeccable pally

*Pete proceeds to grab for his gun and Jess shoots him again, sending him flying off the cliff*

So satisfying yall also that dialogue though, I sense another fic in the future

Not the fanning of the guns, ugh I hate when they do that and Jess does it all the time

I love how Jess just puts his gun away and lets Slim deal with Carlin on his own, the way he just saunters over while they’re fist fighting and the way they replay the bit Carlin pulled on them when he made Jess hit Slim, sheer perfection 🤣

Aw Andy was so excited to see Jess and Slim back safely 🥺

Friendship has been established pallies, that is what we call ✨character development✨

Shadow saving Sonic

ahem, uh so Shadow’s saving Sonic this time huh.

This is definitely going to be a parallel to S2 EP1 when Sonic saved Shadow from the Dark Abyss after Shadow failed to get into Boscage Maze. If there’s a callback to any of these lines, I die happily:

Sonic: “On the bright side, I’ll get to hold this over you forever.” [...] Sonic: "Together, we're gonna fix this." [...]

Transcript:

Sonic: “Man, you must really hate having to admit you need me” Shadow: “You need me” Sonic: “Sure, I’m big enough to admit that. But not as much as you need me.”

One thing I noticed in the Trailer (Dec. 16) was our Amy Rose (captions only said Rose but the voice kind of fits, here's a video to see what I mean: Link) says,

This line can’t be talking about Sonic in this scene since Green Hill can’t peek into the Void so the question remains, what is Amy talking about here? For all we know, it doesn’t have to be Sonic, it could be Shadow or someone other than our hedgehogs.

Nine gets what he wanted + Shadow being the one to convince him to do it (unintentionally, then attempts to convince Nine to save the Shatterverse)

[PARALLEL TIME 2!! Also, I have to involve some of the canon lore for this.]

Nine will redeem himself, that’s only logical. But for him to acknowledge his own mistakes, he would have to see it for himself. From the Clip (Nov. 11) and other previous instances, Sonic tries to convince Nine to think differently by simply talking to him. In all of those times, he fails. BUT, remember when S1 EP 1 Sonic saved Nine from the train, it cracked through Nine, just enough to let Sonic show him that he’s serious. It just makes sense that, since he doesn’t trust anyone, Nine values ACTIONS over WORDS, as it is why he attaches himself to Sonic. Of course, Nine would be against Shadow since Shadow is the one trying to rebuild the Prism and would be the one to have Sonic go against Nine. It may be the push that would make Nine go along with creating his home in the Grim without hesitation, all because Shadow is basically taking his only (well sort-of) friend away from him. That’s why, I want to see Nine getting the world he wanted. Not only to see what Nine really wanted and to see the power of the Prism’s energy, but also for Nine to see why he shouldn’t have done it.

There is a great YT video by Raihani Julie (here’s the link, please go check it out), an animatic based on an angsty scene from the show Amphibia I think really fits. Nine has a good reason to dislike Sonic but he still cares for him, leaving him completely conflicted. So, if Nine did make his own world, he would recreate Sonic, one that agrees with Nine’s plans. He would then realize what he wanted wasn’t a new world, but a friend. Now, for this realization, Nine could do this by himself, but if someone has to be there to help convince him, I think the best option would be Shadow. (Yeah, remember the trust theory?)

💬 "Why?"

Yes, Shadow would be the last person you would expect to help Nine. But hear me out: it’s all based on this exchange alone,

Nine: “You’re not another version of Sonic. But you could be twins.” Shadow: “Hardly, I am the ultimate life form.“

It isn’t just a callback or a reference, this shows Shadow would probably be the only one who can relate to Nine.

Both of them have a lot in common:

1) they closed themselves off and lashed out at the world, believing everyone else doesn’t deserve to be “saved” due to their trauma (Shadow formerly having this way of thinking)

2) they have been confused about their identity. For the most part, they get confused for someone else, but also, what they are meant to be (Shadow being a weapon/robot/etc. and Nine being a threat)

3) they value ACTIONS over WORDS

And what made them change? The truth. If it weren’t for Sonic and his friends, Shadow may have not known what he promised Maria in SA2 and later one realized the truth behind his existence in the Shadow the Hedgehog game. Without the truth, he wouldn't be able to move on from his trauma. Sure, Sonic and Shadow don’t always meet eye-to-eye but they do have mutual respect for each other. For Nine, it was when Sonic saved him in the first EP, seeing that Sonic was being genuine with him, not out to get him.

So, a conversation between Nine and Shadow is possible. Because of the green Chaos Emerald, Shadow may not be affected by the Prism or he may have retrieved it from the Darkness before the final fight, either way works. Since the show showed the pixel origins of Sonic’s first encounters with Tails and Knuckles, they could show one for Shadow. (”It all starts with this…” ok I’m sorry…) Just as Shadow said back in S2 EP7, he doesn’t trust Nine. But he has also seen how much Sonic defended him. It was naive, but Sonic sees the good in people. At the end of all, especially if Shadow saw that Sonic learned to listen, Sonic is trying to do the right thing, even if stopping Nine hurts.

Possible Sonic "Look-Alikes"

(Refer back to the Connections section and the Ultimate Sacrifice box if needed)

All you need to know is that if Sonic makes to get back to Green Hill in time = possibility of Sonic’s “look-alikes” appearing after he gets back (that could explain the “Sonic gets shattered” part), but I don’t think Shadow would have “look-alikes” (BUT LET ME HOPE MAN, I WANNA SEE PIRATE SHADOW)

The Prism has been broken before

[So, we have to consider the canon timeline, again…]

Ever since S1, something has been bothering me about the Prism but I couldn’t put my finger on it. But, what got my theory being created was when the Trailer (Dec. 16) released, where it all started. In the end, where Shadow is in a hurry to take Sonic back to Green Hill, the portal gateway is green.

Now, it may be just to point out the obvious, that it’s Green Hill. Ok, side tangent: why is it green? Boscage Maze is already green, why then would there be two green portals? Wouldn’t it be logical for the portal to be a mix of the Prism colors? Green Hill = NOT Ghost Hill so it can’t be yellow. WHY GREEN??? Tangent over.

Anyway, I went down this mind rabbit hole from the portal design to questioning the existence of the Void before the incident. So, I went back to S1 EP1, and saw something interesting: notice how there are cracks in between each of the Shards, that are separating the colors?

It isn’t the same as the Shards’ edges, they looked like they were glued together. Someone broke Prism and fixed it before it was discovered by EP1. Rouge can actually support this:

Rouge: “You see, I’ve been searching for years for a super rare and shiny gem called the Paradox Prism. Legend speaks of untold power, and it’s buried deep within the Green Hill bedrock.”

Are we just going to brush past this, who had this information? If someone knew about this a long time ago, why share this secret with anyone (except probably to gloat that they have encountered it)? That will be for us to speculate, but the possibilty still stands that there was a whole different Green Hill before the one we know.

💬 "What does this have to do with the canon timeline?"

Back in S2 EP1, Shadow shows Sonic the Prism blueprint, and in EP7, Nine states that the Shards have to be perfectly placed, a slight error would change a huge part of reality.

Nine: It’s not that simple. The alignment must be perfect. The slightest variation could have massive repercussions. People, places, and things can be ripped from existence. One small mistake, and poof! Reality is changed forever.

If they manage to restore Green Hill, would it be the same as before or would it be a whole new Green Hill? Even if the Shards were “perfectly” placed, those would be the main Shards, they didn’t account for any of the smaller pieces that may have happened when Sonic crashed into the Prism. Who knows? Maybe we could get the version of Green Hill that’s in Sonic canon.

For the viewers who happened to be shippers, we all had a fine course of our preferred ships. Especially for the sonadow shippers, myself included. this show was practically sonadow propaganda and my god, it worked.

Nine initiates the Hug

We had a lot of moments of Sonic's way of showing affection to the ones he's closest to, including Nine. As much Nine isn't as affectionate, he lets Sonic do his thing. It's not just limited to hugs though, they also high-fived. I think this is a build-up to a moment when Nine is the one who hugs Sonic, most likely near the end of the season. It would be the last stage of vulnerability, letting his defenses down for Sonic.

“Home”

This line will definitely come back around at the end, because it’s too unique for it not to. Probably at the end of the series.

SIDE RAMBLE: I just wanted to point out when Shadow tells Sonic:

Shadow: “Home doesn’t exist anymore. Because of you.”

[S1 EP8, S2 EP1]

It meant a lot more, “They don’t exist anymore. Because of you.” Also, when Sonic is taken to Ghost Hill and finds the ghosts of his gang, Shadow explains that its existence is:

There are people who still dub Ghost Hill as Green Hill, but it is very clear: Green Hill is gone for good (at least the one we had at the beginning of the series) and, in technicality, the gang is dead, all that is left are ghosts/clones of the gang. Also, Shadow included himself in that last sentence (”us”). Think about it: the only Shatterspace he was able to access was Ghost Hill’s, went in and explored it for himself. We already know about the time difference that happens between Shatterspaces so we don’t even know how long he stayed in there. Days? Months? Did he grieve for the world he vowed to protect? All we know was that he determined the situation with the Prism blueprint and how Ghost Hill operated, along with the small glimpses into whatever Shatterspace Sonic was. That it was, in his words, cruel. It teased him that everyone he knew about was there, his home was there. But it also was gone (a callback to what Sonic said). If he stayed any longer, he might’ve gone insane. Notice that his hand was shaking during that scene. I thought it was good character depth that he really does care and he isn’t some edgy counterpart of Sonic. What he said to Sonic really gave a double punch to the gut because Shadow, if Sonic informed him of what Eggman was up to, could’ve prevented the incident from happening in the first place and they wouldn’t have lost their (first) home.

When the paladins were hearing “the song of the void”, it was pidge and hunk who didn’t hear it (i think). However, in s1 ep1, Keith arguably almost killed the paladins by doing a nosedive on other his hover bike (which I thought was hilarious), Or maybe he’s just that skilled that they were no where near death

((as a quick refresher to save anyone who sees this from having to re-read the entire druidic lab arc, Lotor, Shiro, Keith, & Lance all heard the not-rhyahl's cry, while Allura, Hunk, Matt, & Pidge did not))

“I couldn’t see it before- the common thread, I mean. Only half our party heard that creature’s cry, and though it was no true rhyahl, I suppose it must have been rhyahl enough to possess Sa’s tongue… Sa Kyl, the druids call it: the Song of the Void. While named for the catatonic state induced by that creature which once walked Daibazaal’s scorched earth, the term was extended to include those unseen battles fought by warriors from all walks of life; though the particulars of that which one fights may vary, the aftereffects are not dissimilar. I,,, really don't equate that s01ep01 jump with anything even remotely close to the severity of Naxzela. While it was certainly something that scared the hell out of Pidge/Lance/Hunk in the moment, it was still a far cry from being a near-death experience; Keith really is, as you say, "that good" and it's evident from the confidence with which he executes the maneuver.

Look at that face?? That little smirk as he accelerates?? Keith has every confidence in his skill as a pilot, and that jump (as we later learn, when we see his pre-Kerberos memories of Shiro) isn't something he did because he'd run out of options and had no other way to escape his pursuers, but rather a move taught to him years ago by the Garrison's golden-boy himself, and therefore likely something he's practiced and perfected ever since.

But think of it this way: you've probably had a handful of theoretical close calls in your life yourself—perhaps you stepped out into the road when you shouldn't have and almost got clipped by a car, for example—and while those situations in all likelihood had your heart beating a mile a minute, they don't necessarily traumatise you in the way that it would were you actually hit by the car,,,,,, or, say, seconds away from flying into a magical space-barrier with the intention of turning both your ship and yourself into a bomb all to prevent a substantially bigger bomb plated by your enemy from detonating and blowing up everyone you love.

What if Yuu is from the world of Owl House and got whisked away to the TWST world. And despite being magicless, they use & make glyphs as a way to use magic, which is something the world of TWST never seen before

[OOC]: Hi! Writer here. Yeah, I know the show as I seen clips and fan art of the characters. I love the representations in the cartoon, but too bad as I heard there won’t be a Season 4. (Fuck you, mousy incorporation 🖕.)

I didn’t watch the show, but I think I understand the premise as I remember from Season 1, Episode 1 where Luz Noceda was supposed to go to camp, but ran off somewhere and finds an abandoned house where she also finds the suitcase that’s actually a device used to travel to another world where witches actually exists and other oddities come from.

Now for MC/Yuu, I’m thinking of them as the only friend Luz made back in school and who doesn’t mind about her hobbies/stuff while supporting her Sexuality of being Bi. Though the downside to being Luz’s friend is some trouble stirring up, leading a trip to the school’s office.

Of course, both parties were supposed to go to camp, but ran off like in S1;EP1 and the two find the old abandoned house and suitcase used to travel to The Boiling Isles. Over there, the story progresses like in the show.

Both were mentored with everything by Eda Clawthrone, made new friends, and so forth.

Then here’s the part where MC/Yuu had a mishap during Potionology class and they were sent further to another world called Twisted Wonderland.

At the Prologue, it’s the same setting with MC/Yuu being stuck in the coffin-shaped container and Grim blows off the lid, but they use an Ice Glyph to shield themselves from the blazes.

Then during the scenes where Grim was chasing after MC/Yuu for the Ceremonial Robe, they would also activate the Invisibility Glyph to escape from the little gremlin.

It didn’t last long as that specific glyph you need to hold your breath in to activate it.

Then the chase pursues, leading to the library and MC/Yuu fans out Fire Glyphs in a defense pose.

T.O.H.!MC/Yuu: Stay back! I-I can blow this place up if you don’t want to die!

Grim: Nyah?! You? You can’t do that! I need that ceremonial robe!

T.O.H.!MC/Yuu: Oh yes I can! You chased after me!

Grim: Because I need those clothes!!!

Those two are doing nothing but argue like children.

Then Crowley comes in scene, use his Whips of Love to snatch up Grim and the story continues on where he explains to MC/Yuu that they’re at Night Raven College for all boys to learn about magic.

As all three of the arrived at the Dorm Selection Ceremony, MC/Yuu was forced to stand in front of the Dark Mirror.

Dark Mirror: Hmm…This one doesn’t possess any color or shape in their soul. They are deemed Magicless.

T.O.H.!MC/Yuu: But I do this! *Pulls out some Light Glyphs and activates them to summon glowing orbs of light*

Everyone is at awe watching the orbs floating around.

It was magical to witness.

This was a bad move as Grim uses this opportunity to escape and havoc starts.

Fire everywhere by Grim and the room is in ablaze.

Azul and Riddle chasing after the feline monster.

Such utter chaos.

MC/Yuu, with quick thinking and experience, uses their combinations of Ice and Fire Glyphs to create rain putting out the fire.

T.O.H.!MC/Yuu: Thank you, Luz for the lessons.

After the fire went out, they grabbed a hold onto Grim as he attempts to squirm out of MC/Yuu’s arms.

When the ceremony ended, Crowley brought the two future students in his office to explain what kind of magic they used.

When MC/Yuu explains cane from other worlds (both Earth and The Boiling Isles), Crowley would “promise” to “help” then return to their origins.

I can imagine the adventures and shenanigans MC/Yuu would face with the new arrangements.

They would definitely fight against the Overblot battles with the right choices of glyphs.

Oh! Speaking of Glyphs, the First Years would absolutely learn how to draw some, but first they need to draw a perfect circle to activate its properties.

Ace: *Draws a circle* How about now?

I can totally see everybody viewing MC/Yuu as a younger cute sibling.

To be honest, with MC/Yuu separated from Luz and the others, I like to think of this as a symbolism of moving on to making new friendships, but there’s that irreplaceable bond between them. Sure, the two are world’s away from each other, but they’ll still be connected.

Okay this might be a reach but I've been thinking about you're theory regarding the time weirdness in s2 and how that might relate to birthdaygate. So if we go by the theory, Vecna either made the other characters forget about Will's birthday or at least made them think it was in a different day. And at first people thought it was just a production error and dismissed it but it makes sense in universe that Vecna would use this to further isolate Will.

But Will's birthday/age isn't the only one that's wrong though. Eddie's is also wrong in the missing person's poster put up by his uncle. We know he was meant to have graduated at least 2 years ago from his talk with the hellfire club in ep1. However the poster says he's 17 which wouldn't makes sense at all. And this is a poster made by his uncle so surely he would know Eddie's age?? I thought this another production error too at first but now I'm not so sure given everything.

Idk how this all connects and again it might be a reach, but all of this time fuckery surrounding people that are involved with the UD is, well... strange.

HOLY SHIT OKAY WAIT. YOU ARE ONTO SOMETHING. 

EDDIE’S UNCLE WAYNE IS WEARING BASICALLY AN IDENTICAL OUTFIT TO JONATHAN- like when Jonathan was putting up Will’s poster, he was wearing almost the EXACT same jacket as Wayne was when he was putting up the poster.

I could dismiss eddie’s as a continuity error if a.) they didnt go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure that the audience knew how many times eddie failed graduating + therefore his age not being 17 and b.) all of the other subtle time fuckery i’ve been looking at all the sheer attention to detail in this show makes me reluctant to brush anything off as a continuity error. That is SUCH a good point with both will and eddie having birthdays/ages that are wrong. This also prompted me to look at will’s missing poster vs eddie’s missing poster, and then i noticed something. I was looking at eddie’s missing poster + how it’s defaced earlier in the scene + wayne takes down the defaced version.

And that reminded me of the defaced newspaper clipping that Will finds in his locker in s2. So, i went to find that scene, right? Take a close look at the contents of the article and what it says. Now compare that to the contents of the article in the next image, of the newspaper clipping in the police station. 

And then i went and compared it to the same newspaper clipping that we see in the police station (at least im 99% sure it’s the police station) and i realized something: these are two completely different articles- well, actually, it’s the same article, just with totally different content for some reason. I’ve darkened and upped the contrast on the police station clipping so that you can just barely see that the name also says “benjamin buck,�� just like the article that Will finds in his locker..

Why the hell are there two completely different stories about what happened to will being published by the SAME PERSON at the same time? Now, the first photo of the zombie boy article is hard to read in my screencap, but i found a clearer one:

NOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE. BECAUSE THESE ARTICLES EACH PUT OUT A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED TO WILL, BOTH WRITTEN BY THE SAME GUY?? according to the one in season 1, Will was the subject of experimenatation at the lab and that’s how they found him. According to the one in season 2, will was found by hoppper out in an abandoned cabin??? hop’s cabin?? i smell timeline fuckery. i’m not saying that either of these things happened to will, because we KNOW what happened with him/his fake death, but it’s absolutely bizarre to me that there’s two completely different, contradictory accounts of it, in an article with the SAME HEADLINE written by the SAME GUY. this smells like the sort of “rewriting history/changing peoples’ perceptions of evenets and dates” that’s tied to birthdaygate. And it gets even weirder- because according to the s1 article, Will was found after a week/7 days- but according to the s2 article, will was found by hopper in six days specifically.  And how does the articles + will’s poster connect to eddie’s poster? the picture used in the articles is not only the SAME photo from his missing poster, but they go out of their way to let us KNOW that it’s the same photo by mentioning it in the newspaper itself, when you read the caption underneath the s2 photo.  It’s also interesting to me that both eddie and will are tied to the word “freak” specifically (eddie’s whole thing and the will-jonathan freak peptalk), and that “when it’s cold i’d like to die” plays when will’s briefly dead in the upside-down when hop and joyce rescue him, and also plays when eddie dies in the upside-down.  IM NOT SURE HOW IT CONNECTS YET EITHER BUT I DEF DONT THINK ITS A REACH. it’s DEFINITELY strange and i’m currently gathering more evidence of time fuckery because im starting to see more and more of it, possibly even dating back to the beginning of season 1. Smthn is wonky here and i’m not sure what but it’s SOMETHING.  Idk what time fuckery is going on or why eddie’s age is wrong but im gonna sit here and think on it

This 💯 💯!! .... I've always believed that riot was the key to saving sam and that he literally brought sam back from a suicide attempt....

(Also i don't know if its a deleted scene or whether i made it up in my head (which, bearing the themes of s8 in mind is a bit ironic, i know) - but I swear i remember on my 1st watch that there was a scene that clearly shows sam driving the impala at speed, distressed, veering towards a tree , & a dog jumps out n so he swerves to avoid him but clips him nonetheless n next sceneis him bringing the dog into the vet - its a tiny scene similar to s1-ep1 where dean is shown driving away after dropping sam off n as he approaches the lights around the corner, his radio glitches n he sees street lights flicker n so he turns around n that's how he gets to sam in time to save him as Jessica burns on the ceiling - that was deleted in later broadcasts n I could never find it in subsequent rewatches, too)
