DOG POLICE
An crossover show idea i did a while back
The shows like a mix between scooby doo and sam and max, about an independent freelance dog police force who deal with more outlandish and dangerous criminals in the city.
the character bios Dog police bios by dragonboy
Clifford: The head of the force. Tall, strong and imposing, yet a bit airheaded with a kind heart. Cares for the team like a family.
Martha: The team's communications officer and second-in-command, fluent in over a dozen languages. Firm yet caring. Isn't afraid to speak her mind. She makes sure everyone stays focused and not get into too much shenanigans.
Chase: An accomplished police puppy from Toronto, Canada. Leader of the world-famous Paw Patrol rescue team, working with the Dog Police is his "side project". Treats it with the same dedication as his main profession. Often accompanies Bluey and Rockruff so they stay out of trouble
Bluey: A puppy from Brisbane, Australia, and the youngest member of the Dog Police. Kind, innocent and playful. Loves thinking of inventive ways to solve a crime, especially if it can be made into a game. The team needs to be extra careful with her if things get dangerous.
Zoe: Expert detective with a sassy streak. Mastermind at figuring out mysteries and whodunits. Very fashion-concious. Don't mess with her hair!
Snoopy: A dog of little words, but one with a brilliant and analytic mind. Writer in his down-time. Always has his nose in a true crime book.
Aleu: A wolf-dog from Alaska. Zoe's best friend. One of the most hands-on members of the force. Not afraid to get her paws dirty. Ready for a fight even before she knows who shes fighting, though sometimes this approach gets her into trouble.
Courage: Ironically, a big coward, but a lovable one at that. Acts as the team's psychogical consultant. Trying to get over his phobias of a myriad of things. Skilled in cimputer tech and works with Dawkins to locate criminals
Elsa: The team's medic. Often seen training new recruits. Will always help out a fellow teammate or anyone injured at a crime scene. Can be egotistical at times, especially loves playing the leader when Martha or Clifford isn’t around, but always means well.
Dawkins: A Dalmatian from London, England, and just one member of a large family. The team's chief scientific advisor and tech support. Filled with knowledge despite his young age. Hes made several useful gadgets for the team at their disposal
Brian: an average joe-turned-sniffer dog from Quahog, Rhode Island. A ladies' man with a great singing voice and an expansive drinks cabinet. Can sniff out any form of contraband from blocks away. He does get annoyed with some of his teams dumb antics but does get along well with the others
Rockruff: The second-youngest of the team. A fireball of energy who brings a chaotic, upbeat energy to the team. Snarky at times, but in good means and being playful. Though he always has the feeling he's being controlled by someone.

"Time with the Goddess of Adventure"
While visiting Toon Town, the home of the Toons, I introduce Lucas to Xandra, the Greek Goddess of Adventure, and ally to The Three Caballeros; Donald Duck, Panchito Pistoles, and Jose Carioca.
Lucas was starting to take a liking to the Greek Goddess of Adventure, that he couldn't help himself but latch onto her back, causing Xandra to carry him. But she allowed this as she was taking a liking to him as much as me when I visited.
This is for Grey DeLisle's 51st Birthday

Tootie Heath Plays "Night In Tunisia" W/ Emmet Cohen
REMEMBERING ALBERT “TOOTIE” HEATH MAY 31, 1935 – APRIL 3, 2024
A TRIBUTE TO THE SWINGING DRUMMER Drummer Albert “Tootie” Heath passed away on April 3, 2024 at the age of 88.
He was born in Philadelphia on May 31, 1935, the younger brother of bassist Percy Heath and saxophonist-arranger-composer Jimmy Heath.
Growing up in a very musical family, Heath gained important experience playing locally and with his brothers.
When he came to New York in 1957, his recording debut was with John Coltrane.
Heath was in great demand throughout his career, and among the more than 250 jazz sessions that he appeared on were albums led by Jimmy Heath, Nina Simone (including her hit version of “I Loves You Porgy”), J.J. Johnson, Cannonball Adderley, Johnny Griffin, Wes Montgomery, the Jazztet, Art Farmer, Benny Golson, Clifford Jordan, Bobby Timmons, Milt Jackson, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Herbie Hancock, Yusef Lateef, Joe Pass, Roberta Gambarini, and even Anthony Braxton and Roscoe Mitchell.
Tootie teamed up with his siblings as the Heath Brothers starting in the mid-1970s, after Connie Kay’s passing he was the last drummer with the Modern Jazz Quartet, and he led five albums of his own.
A very reliable and swinging drummer who was quite versatile, Albert “Tootie” Heath was a strong asset in every group in which he appeared.
Here is Albert “Tootie” Heath being showcased in 2023 with pianist Emmet Cohen and bassist Russell Hall on a rather unusual version of “A Night In Tunisia.”

SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN (1970) – Episode 207 – Decades Of Horror 1970
“Smells like cheese, looks like ham… [takes a bite of sandwich] Oh, no problem. It’s chicken.” Rest assured, Grue Believers. Nothing about this movie resembles chicken. Join your faithful Grue Crew – Doc Rotten, Chad Hunt, Bill Mulligan, and Jeff Mohr – as they dive into that strange vat of boiling acid known as Scream and Scream Again (1970)!
Decades of Horror 1970s Episode 207 – Scream and Scream Again (1970)

A serial killer who drains his victims’ blood is on the loose in London. The police follow him to a house owned by an eccentric scientist.
Directed by: Gordon Hessler
Writing Credits: Christopher Wicking (screenplay); Peter Saxon (novel)
Selected Cast:
Vincent Price as Dr. Browning
Christopher Lee as Fremont
Peter Cushing as Major Heinrich Benedek
Alfred Marks as Detective Supt. Bellaver
Michael Gothard as Keith
Christopher Matthews as Dr. David Sorel
Judy Huxtable as Sylvia
Anthony Newlands as Ludwig
Kenneth Benda as Prof. Kingsmill
Marshall Jones as Konratz
Uta Levka as Jane
Yutte Stensgaard as Erika
Julian Holloway as Detective Constable Griffin
Judy Bloom as Helen Bradford (as Judi Bloom)
Peter Sallis as Schweitz
Clifford Earl as Detective Sgt. Jimmy Joyce
Nigel Lambert as Ken Sparten
David Lodge as Detective Inspector Phil Strickland
First, take a killer film title and an equally killer poster. Then grab a bizarre tale that includes long (yet exciting) car chases, vampires (sort of), Frankenstein (sort of), Nazis (sort of), super Vulcan nerve pinches (sort of), and a bubbling vat of acid. Then cast it with three iconic horror actors and what do you get? Scream and Scream Again from Amicus, directed by Gordon Hessler, and featuring Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing. Even if all three are never in the same scene, the results are oddly compelling, yet … goofy and frustrating. Despite the negatives, this film has grown a cult following. What might the Grue Crew make of it?
At the time of this writing, Scream and Scream Again is available to stream from Tubi and Freevee, as well as various PPV options. The film is available on physical media as a Special Edition Blu-ray from Kino Lorber.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode, chosen by Jeff, will be Effects (1979), inspired by George Romero’s Martin (1977) and featuring Tom Savini, as both an effects artist and an actor.

Dog Police: candle jack
the dog police were on the case against the specter named candle jack, for if you say his name he’ll take you away. It seems the crew has been caught in the clutches of the fiend, thankfully Rockruff and Snoopy come up with a plan to ambush the ghostly grabber, unfortunately the plan kinda backfires when Rockruff (who was supposed to distract him) accidentally says his name

Sam Bellamy - The Wealthiest Pirate
One of the more successful members of the Flying Gang, an impressive feat considering his company, Samuel Bellamy otherwise known as 'Black Sam' or 'Black Bellamy' was often seen as akin to a Robin Hood figure.
His introduction to sailing was through the Royal Navy, although he was quickly swayed to piracy through the promise of riches. Sailing under Benjamin Hornigold and Edward Teach, Bellamy eventually took over the Marianne and later still his own fully fledged galley the Whydah. This ship is especially notable because its wreck was found in 1984, making it the first authentic ship from the Golden Age of Piracy.
The Whydah's wreck contained a multitude of treasure, money and jewels, and along with the records of the era helped to cement the idea of Bellamy being the wealthiest pirate in recorded history. Despite this title, Bellamy was far from the most successful or long-lived, as he was only a Captain for approximately a year and his short stint was ended by the Whydah's shipwreck off the coast of Massachusetts. The few survivors were rounded up and taken to Boston, where they were convicted on October 22 1717 and hanged for piracy on November 15 of the same year. Sadly, the King's pardon allegedly arrived in Boston three weeks late meaning that the 9 survivors should have been offered freedom.
Bellamy's reputation amongst his crew was positive, he ran his fleet democratically and was clearly well liked. While his pirate exploits are well known, his personal life is less clear. It is widely believed he had a mistress, although there is no definitive identity, and it is facts such as her name, age and marital status are often disputed. Despite this the legend prevails that Bellamy loved a woman from Cape Cod and that he committed acts of piracy to gain favour from her parents or to perhaps run away with her. Historically accurate or not, this love story is well known and often sensationalised such as in the Netflix documentary The Lost Pirate Kingdom.
