Who would win in a dance competition between Omi and Chase? I feel like they'd both be sort of bad at it?

Idk, anon, appearances can be deceptive! Well, I do understand your assumption they might be bad at dancing because why would such excellent fighters bother to learn how to dance in the first place, right? However, I do believe if Omi and Chase tried - they could manage. Dancing takes a lot of precision and mimicking and it is canon they're both very good at it. Of course, the beginnings would be not as graceful as intended, like all beginnings are, but I believe in my boys.

Besides, knowing there is that dancing game on the temple's premises

I bet Kimiko is Omi's dance teacher and this dance simulator only makes that experience funnier and more entertaining for both of them. Actually, all of Omi's friends are eager to show him different styles of dance. Y'know, Raimundo introducing Omi to capoeira? Clay info-dumping Omi how country parties look like? They show videos of various dances throughout the world on Kimiko's laptop so Omi could be kept up to date. However, if I ever saw Omi's attempts to dance, I think his dancing style would consist mostly of jumps. Poor fella can't distinguish which moves are for fighting and which are for a dance. But that's his charm. And when we talk about pair dances, well, Omi is rather short, so jumps compensate for the height difference! Yeah, Omi would be a fan of jig dances in particular.

As for Chase, he's not into socializing but c'mon. He had to come out of his lair from time to time and attend some parties at least for gaining information. He's 1500+ years old. What can you do with such a long lifespan? Everyone would be bored to death. I headcanon Chase knows at least slower, traditional dances from all over the world. Heck, he witnessed the whole evolution of ballroom dancing through the decades! So, yeah, I suspect he would find some residual parts of the groove in himself and feel ok in a formal setting. Although, when it comes to street dances, oh my, you're right. He's a disaster. He would not let anyone see this, but deep down he would feel awkward if someone made him pull off a more improvised dance.

If there was ever a dance-off showdown I would put my bets on Kimiko or Raimundo. Even in the intro, Raimundo's part shows us that boy CAN flare. Our break-dance master <3

So yeah if Omi and Chase were to compete against Kimiko and Rai, they would lose OR make draw. I think Omi and Chase would be more focused on synchronizing with EACH OTHER rather than with music, which is being played at the moment. Their moves turn out to be off-beat in general but overall performance would be a pleasure to watch, just like these Omi-Chase combos we see in the series.

while Elden Ring has a variety of consumable items, most of them are described as being medicinal in nature. I wanted to come up with food that people in the Lands Between might have for actual meals! all of these were inspired directly by in-game items & creatures.

flavor text (hehe) below the cut:

spicy prawns: Widely enjoyed in Liurnia due to the abundance of crayfish, and seasoned with the same fiery spices used to prepare exalted flesh.

she-crab soup: A rich bisque made with fish stock, cream, fortified wine, crab meat, and crab eggs. The roe of giant crabs is particularly prized for use in this dish.

meat dumplings: A staple in the Lands Between made with whatever meat is readily available (springhare, guillemot, and land octopus are common fillings). Methods of preparation vary as much as the meat, and they're sometimes enjoyed fermented or raw.

pickled veggies: Mixed vegetables preserved in a sour brine and stored inside of clay pots. Edible mushrooms and cave moss are frequent additions. They can supposedly be thrown at attackers in a pinch to inflict the [PICKLED] status.

herba tea: A beverage made from herba leaves that have been meticulously steamed, dried, and ground into a fine powder, then whisked into hot water. It can also be steeped from fresh herba, though the powdered form is preferred for both its stronger flavor and ease of storage.

sheep's milk cheese: A blue cheese made from the raw milk of rolling sheep. Creamy and tangy, with a salty rind that tastes of seagrass. Its vibrant veins of mold come from fungi that flourish in Limgrave’s coastal caves.

beast blood pancakes: The blood of beasts makes a handy substitute when fresh eggs are hard to come by. These dense and savory pancakes are often served with buttery marrow from the beast's own bones, plus a hearty dollop of rowa jam.

rowa jam tarts: While red rowa is rather sour and more commonly consumed by animals than people, the golden fruit from the Altus Plateau makes especially sweet preserves that are perfect for use in tarts and other desserts. Such treats are precious things.

Brozone headcanons

Clay is the type of brother to not believe what any of the others tell him. Whether they're lying to him or not, he don't believe them

John Dory can get his brothers to fall asleep in minutes. He's got all the tricks that knock them out. They worked when they were kids and still work now that they're adults.

Whoever ends up with John will get a wonderful lil house husband. He can cook, clean, bake, sew, and take care of children. Basically a house husband (or pod in this case)

John definitely dated Delta Dawn. They broke up bc they were too similar and too different. This was shortly after the band broke up and before Delta became queen. They were both young and adventurous. They wanted to travel the world together but Delta had responsibilities that she couldn't leave.

Floyd had ONE girlfriend. When he got on his own, Floyd told people he was bisexual bc he knew he wasn't straight but he thought he liked girls. He and that girl broke up on good terms bc she understood when he told her he's gay.

Floyd is scared of clowns

Bruce probably traumatized the little brothers more than John Dory did. He was the one that would force them to go into a haunted house, purposely jump out with a scary mask on type stuff

Drinks of choice: JD prefers whiskey, Bruce likes margaritas and brandy (obviously), Clay doesn't drink often, he likes white wine while he reads, Floyd likes SHOTS SHOTS and mixed drink (club/party drinks), branch doesn't drink much either but likes wine and occasionally mixed drinks.

Floyd is the holder of all the family secrets. He's really good at keeping them secret. Bruce and John are too but they're also known for telling embarrassing stories so none of the brothers want to tell them their secrets and risk it getting leaked

John is incredibly handy, he's very good at fixing most things. He can FIX things most of the time. He's no good at building.

All the boys are hopeless romantics

When one of the brothers (excluding Bruce in this case) get married after reuniting, they are all excitedly helping plan the wedding

Floyd can walk in heels

John Dory handles his machete very well. Nothing gets cut that he doesn't want cut. He also flips it around like a butterfly knife

When JD and Spruce went out to those teenage parties, they had a silent rule of one of them had to stay sober to make sure the other didn't do anything stupid, was safe and they both got home in enough time to get some sleep before having to wake up for the day. Spruce made sure John didn't wander off while stoned and listened to him talk whatever came to his high mind. John Dory made sure Spruce didn't eat something he wasn't supposed to while stoned or do anything stupid while drunk. It was never discussed but they knew that one of them had to be responsible for the other

Despite the band getting back together, both John and Floyd have sole careers that take off. Floyd is more for the performing and shows, JD is more for releasing songs and disappearing for several months. Floyd is selling out shows, John is dropping a song on YouTube that blows up within the first ten minutes. Brozone fans eat it up

While on stage and interacting with fans, the boys do very different things. John Dory leans towards the crowd and the fans go wild, he's a bit taken back but blows them a kiss (cue someone fainting). Bruce still plays up the heartthrob card, showing off his body, a fan yells and calls him daddy. He whispers into his mic "I didn't give you permission to call me that." in a flirty tone, cue the deafening screams. Clay was always shocked a little bit when fans start screaming when he gets close to the end of the stage, he's talking into his mic like "you good? You need something?" which causes the fans to all scream something at him. Floyd is the most memeable, hes making faces and sitting on the edge of the stage. He didn't used to that but after V&V he gets tired pretty quick. So he often ends up laying on the stage, his leg hanging off, his mic by his head along with a bottle of water. Clay kicked him off once and nobody knows if it was on purpose or not. Branch is NOT used to the fans. They're screaming at him and he's backing away. He's also very memeable until he gets more used to it. He didn't perform as much as his brothers (by that i mean he only truly performed once)

Bruce teaches John Dory how to surf. After several hours he gets the hang of it, it's like skateboarding only rougher.

Bruce sometimes watches his boys and sees him and his bros. Theyre wrestling and he can practically see himself, Clay and Floyd on the floor of their Grandma's pod

Grandma Rosiepuff spanked JD and Bruce with a wooden spoon. By the time she stopped, Clay was old enough for him to be next, so he got lucky. The wooden spoon she used had a wooden chunk taken out of it from when she hit John once. They find it while going through her old stuff that Branch had.

"Hey look it's the whooping spoon!"

"The what?!"

"The whooping spoon. The spoon grandma used to spank us."

"What makes you say that?"

"You see this chunk taken out, that's from my ass."

read risk | Thank you so so much for 1000 followers!!! Since starting this blog in May of 2023, I have written so many characters and storylines. I get so many lovely anon messages telling me about their favourite universes and wondering what happens next after my fics have ended. So, I thought to celebrate 1000 followers, I’d indulge. Here’s the (current) where are they now for all of my fics so far…

There’s a pretty smile on your glossy skin when JJ squints his eyes open. 

“Quit it!” 

“Just wanna look at you,” he mumbles with a dopey smile, closing his eyes once more. 

You laugh quietly and JJ can imagine you shaking your head or rolling your eyes. It makes his smile grow. The cool, damp feeling of clay being smeared across his cheek has him nearly flinching. It’s worth it, though, to feel you rub it in with the pads of your fingers. The tips of your acrylic nails barely scratch the surface of his skin. You wipe the facemask under his eyes and around his temple, and paint it along his cheeks and chin. 

“Is it stinging?” you check. 

“No,” he hums. 

There’s rustling as you wipe your hands clean on an Egyptian cotton towel before digging about in your make-up bag. JJ is subjected to lip scrub, gel-cooler pads on the eyes, and even eyelash and eyebrow serum. He takes it willingly, secretly enjoying how doting you are on him. Besides, his skin will probably be translucent by tomorrow with how thorough your skincare routine is. 

A warm, wet washcloth is used to wipe his skin clear. JJ’s then treated with toner and moisturiser and facial spray and lip balm. 

“Done,” you brightly announce. 

Sighing, JJ opens his eyes and sits up onto his elbows. For the past hour, he’d gladly sunk into your mountain of throw pillows. Every joint and bone creaks awake as he moves. A mirror is held out before him. He pulls a face, impressed by the glow of his skin. 

“Feels nice, right?” you say as JJ runs his fingers along his jaw, admiring your handy-work. 

“I’ll say,” he grins.

His hands plant on your hips and he tugs you toward him. Giggling, the mirror flops onto the plushy comforter and you gladly fall into his hold. Your lips slot against his, the combination of oils, scrubs and balms tasting sweet and tangy. Pulling away for breath, JJ’s hooded eyes flit between your damp lips and shining eyes. A boyish, telling smirk grows. 

 “What’d you say I give you a facial too, huh?”

“You’re gross,” you reply with a roll of your eyes. He sniggers and gladly lets you silence him with your mouth. He sinks into your kisses like he sinks into your bed. 

Fingertips teasing at your skin under his shirt, you sigh contently against his lips. The fire simmers out into a warm burn and you slowly ease away. JJ is only half joking when he protests as you clamber off his lap. Lounging on your bed, he watches you wander over to the television set at the foot of it. As you lean down to turn it on by the socket, JJ’s t-shirt that you wear rides up. It reveals the dainty tattoo you had him stick-and-poke into you a couple of weeks ago. P4L. It’s downright sexy to see it marked permanently into your skin.

When JJ had completed the tattoo for you, you’d also joked that maybe he should mark his name there too. That way the girls at keggers and house parties would know to keep their hands off him. You see, most of the fellow Pogue-Cut girls who had once flirted and fucked JJ didn’t take well to you being his girlfriend. They thought his head might be turned and so they tried their luck with trying to ‘steal him back’. JJ didn’t entertain it for a second, but your possessive side showed when it happened, and he shamelessly loved that side. You’d spend the rest of the party coiled around him like a viper and the hours of the night reminding him why he was so smitten. A tattoo of his name felt a risky play but love-bites were a perfect substitute. 

Sauntering back over to the bed, remote in hand, you snuggle up beside him. You click on Gossip Girl. JJ had confessed to you one night, completely hammered, that he was obsessed with your guilty pleasure show. Since then, you watch and re-watch the series together nearly every night. 

It was baffling to everyone how easily JJ had fit into your world, and you into his. It baffled the two of you as well. His room was now littered with your belongings. They intermixed strangely well with his surfer-boy decor: a Fenty make-up kit stacked up on his desk; Clinique skincare claiming an entire shelf in the bathroom cabinet; designer panties carelessly tucked into his drawers. Your bedroom was the same, though perhaps more secretive considering JJ still had yet to meet your parents. Neither of you were stupid: they had probably already heard from others on the island that you’d had your head turned by a Pogue. But right now, you liked the lack of prying parental opinions. That to say, JJ’s smoke kit was hidden in your bottom drawer under several Vogue magazines and his frayed boxers in a Channel shoe box.

Pressing a kiss to your forehead, the two of you settle into the show. 

“Hey, JayJ?” you mumble, eyes fixated on the screen. 

“Yeah?”

“I love you.”

His heart breathes. Swallowing away the trickle of nerves that your three words always bring, JJ plants another kiss to your skin. Then, he squeezes your thigh three distinct times. You cuddle closer to him with that. It was your own secret language. Three times for three words.

But unfortunately, and against all common sense, sometimes people inconsiderately throw their bound enemies into rooms entirely bereft of nails, handy bits of sharp stone, sharp-edged shards if glass or even, in extreme cases, enough pieces of old junk and tools to make a fully functional armored car.

And about advice, well, this will be from my experience, hehe.

Something that definitely helped me a lot is using references to draw him, I'm not sure if this is noticeable, but most of the time, I try to make the Medic I draw look like how he is in-model, so it was a matter of practicing drawing him guided by the renders/pics available on the official TF2 wiki. Likewise, if you have SFM, it would also help a lot as a reference to practice drawing him (as well as the other mercenaries, in fact).

I think for me, the most important thing was to recognize the most notable features of the character, and of course, you can always stylize these!

This is something I did a while back, but I sculpted Medic's head in clay to have it as a handy guide to practice drawing his head and face. But I think having a 3D model of the character available would also be enough.

How to Make Replicas of Your Own Teeth: A Cosplay Toothtorial

This is a method to safely use a molded mouth guard to make duplicates of your own teeth without destroying a potentially expensive piece of dental equipment. Everything that goes into the mold—clay and mold release aid—must be nontoxic/edible so you can wash your mouth guard at the end of the process and continue to use it as normal. 

Benefits: No mold-making or casting experience required Lightweight end result Adds a truly personal touch to your project :)

Downsides: Must own a molded mouth guard/retainer End result can be fragile and needs proper sealing for durability

Supplies

Molded mouth guard/retainer (referred to as “mold” from here on)

Cornstarch

Soft/fluffy brush

Non-toxic white air dry clay (I used Crayola Model Magic)

Craft knife

Jewelry wire (I used 20 or 22 gauge)

Pins/yarn needle/any various household implements you can sculpt or smooth small details with

Acrylic paints and a variety paint brushes

Clear glossy top coat (I used Mod Podge (satin) and UV Resin)

Prep

Brush or otherwise clean your mouth guard if you haven’t already, especially if there’s build-up.

If you’re using your container of cornstarch for cooking, set aside a small container specifically for crafting. No accidental cross-contamination here!

Dip your fluffy brush into cornstarch and brush into your DRY mouth guard. Lightly coat the entire mold and distribute any clumps. This coat of cornstarch will make it easier to remove your teeth from the mold.

Molding

Firmly press clay into the mold so that approximately half is in the mold, half is sticking out for root sculpting. Make sure there are no air pockets or you won’t pick up the details. 

Use detail scissors/craft knife to cut away excess material and indent to mark out the divisions between teeth as visible on the gum lines (see above)

Reference a tooth diagram like the one below and separate out the roots for each tooth. Front teeth tend to have 1 leg, middle teeth have 2 legs, and some molars have 3+. I personally found that my limit was 2 roots. Sculpting 3+ roots on a single tooth was more difficult and more fragile than anatomical accuracy was worth. 

Demolding

You can demold immediately after sculpting or wait up to an hour. The faster you remove the teeth, the easier they are to reshape. The longer you wait, the more they resist unintentional denting BUT the more touch-ups you'll have to do to clean the edges between teeth.

Gently lift the full row of teeth from the mold. If it won't release when you tip the mold or or push at it, try using a pin to stab one of the end teeth and use that to pry up the teeth. The rest of the row should follow. If they don't, try repeating for the other side. If they're still not lifting, set aside to dry and try again ~15-30min later.

Gently cut apart the u-shape into individual teeth.

Press raw cut edges in and smooth with various tools, like a yarn needle. Use a craft knife to help trim off any excess clay.

Touch-ups

In the case of air pockets or if you accidentally remove a root, wet some clay and use a very small amount to fill in gaps or add on roots. Don't forget the water! It makes the clay stickier and smooth out better. This is where tools come in handy, wet clay sticks less to smooth objects than your fingertips!

Once repaired, set aside any wet pieces to dry for at least 15min before doing any more sculpting work.

Set all teeth aside to dry for several hours on a wax paper or other non-stick surface. Make sure it's not textured or it will leave an imprint on your teeth!

Flaws like the chip on the top left tooth and the cracks on the middle bottom teeth are great candidates for smoothing out with a little extra clay.

**PAUSE HERE AND CLEAN YOUR MOUTH GUARD**

I personally like to rinse it out with water and clean it with a dissolving denture cleaning tablet to make sure it’s fully sanitized. It also doesn’t hurt to properly brush the mouth guard to make sure there’s no clay or cornstarch residue stuck in the crevices.

Holes

Test a tooth to check if it’s dry to the touch and doesn’t immediately deform to your touch. If it’s holding shape, you can move on.

Bore a hole into the tooth with a pin or jewelry wire. Consider how you want them to hang. A) For the central dangling teeth on Harrowhark’s choker, I punched holes as close to the tip of the root as possible without tears, perpendicular to the teeth so I could hang them on jump rings directly from the center brooch. B) For the teeth intended for Harrow’s tabard, I punched two sets of holes parallel to the jaw to prevent teeth from flipping around. One set just under the tooth cap, approx. 1/8in down, and one set about the same distance from the roots.

Once a hole has been punched with a pin, wiggle it around a little to open the hole or thread it on a piece of jewelry wire.

Leave teeth on a piece of wax paper or strung on a thread/wire to dry for ~48hr (or as recommended for your clay).

Painting/Weathering

Mix a small amount of yellow-brown paint with water to create a wash (middle palette above). Paint all of your teeth with this first to establish a base color and help define any hairline cracks.

Paint with less diluted yellows and browns (right palette above). Refer to photos like the below for reference (try searching "teeth" and "archaeology"). NOTE: The root tends to be darker and more weathered than the main tooth because it isn't protected by enamel.

Dry brush ivory or white mixed with some yellow/brown onto the tooth cap to bring out highlights.

Finishing

Your air dry clay teeth and paint job will need a top coat for protection. I highly recommend a glossy clear top coat to give the look of enamel. Below is a comparison of the two sealants I used, but there's many more options out there!

UV Resin (Left) Pros: Harder/more durable Cures faster Cons: Need to work during daylight or use a UV light Harder to get a thin even layer Requires more set up and safety precautions

Satin Mod Podge (Right) Pros: Can be applied with a brush Air dries Cons: Takes longer to dry Teeth tend to stick together unless kept below room temp or kept from touching each other (I solve this by storing unused beads in an old pill bottle in the fridge. Yes it's cursed and Yes I've had comments from my housemates.)

As mentioned earlier, thread teeth on a wire or pin down to dry. This method also works well to set up for spray painting a clear coat.

Now, go forth and enjoy everyone's reactions when you tell them that you're wearing your own teeth! :D

Clay - Dream - 11 - lime green - green eyes, dirty blond hair - as he’s autistic he wears comfy clothes only like gym shorts and soft tee-shirts for example and hoodies when it’s cold enough (he will not be caught dead in jeans), used a paper plate with a smile on it to jump scare Tommy once and now it’s his Dream aesthetic

Luke - Punz - 11 - blue - bright blond hair and blue eyes - has a gold necklace he never takes off, his ears are pierced with some gold studs,, his favorite outfit is his ripped black jean shorts and white tee-shirt

Alex - Quackity - 10 - Red - dark brown eyes and black hair, kinda more short stubby - him and his family are mexican, tends to wear classic dark blue and black and doesn’t mind getting dressed up for the occasion, always wears a beanie though, carries a pack of candy cigarettes he pretends to light with a lighter he found, tends to carry a deck of cards and his dad’s old pocket knife, knows a little more than a kid should, has a little scar over his lip from falling face first that Techno turned into a whole lore point

Alexander - Technoblade - 9 - red - blue eyes and dirty blond hair though he tried to dye it an edge red to be cool and it turned out pink instead - he loves to wear his red cape and crown all the time, someone once called him a pig because of his pink hair and after that he added pig ears and nose to his Technoblade look, he also often is seen riding his stick horse steed named Carl, he has glasses that George often steals

Mark - Ranboo - 8 - purple - brown hair, green eyes and super tall and lanky - entire wardrobe is black with lots or variations of black and white, often see with sunglasses and face mask on to be mysterious and of course his crown

Nick - Sapnap - 7 - Orange - brown eyes and unkempt hair that’s just long enough to be annoying that he keeps out of his eyes with his white ninja headband - favorite outfit is black athletic shorts or pants with a flame themed shirt, when it’s cold he’ll wear the same shirts just with a long sleeve black shirt underneath, often carriers around a katana and pretends to be a stealthy ninja

Karl - Karl Jacobs - 7 - purple - light brown hair and blue eyes - when it’s cold he loves to wear his iconic hoodie, he wears lots of fun colors and patterns like the stereotypical stylish gay guy, he has a old stopwatch he likes to carry around

Thomas - Tommy, Tommyinnit - 6 - red - blond hair, blue eyes, tall (for his age) and lanky - likes to wear khaki and that two toned classic tee-shirt, often see with red bandana around his next like some western outlaw and appropriate red devil horns

Toby - Tubbo - 6 - green - bright blond hair and blue eyes - Niki gave him bumble bee barrettes he wears to keep his bangs out of his eyes, he’s very attached to his stuffed pig, can be found wearing cuffed jean shorts or sometimes overalls

George - Gogi - 5 - light blue -  brown eyes and messy hair - always carries around his mushroom patterned blanky, likes wearing his favorite iconic blue shirt and jeans

More Voltron AU!

Alien fugitive Fit who frequently steals/scavenges from Galra ships and settlements (and usually causes some mayhem too) frees human Pac from a work camp and takes him under his wing. Fitpac ensues, followed by relentless teasing from Tubbo, who went into space searching for Pac.

Fit used to be a gladiator for blood sport on a Galra cruiser before he found Ramon and they broke free together. Turns out Ramon's pretty handy with a fighter jet!

Ramon also engineered his arm and trident with the use of a balmera crystal shard they stole off a Galra encampment. He only wears it when necessary.

Fit's species come in many different colours. They are vaguely humanoid, and are known for their height and bulk, much like the Galra. Unlike the Galra, they have much less fur, usually only some hair at the very back of the head (Fit is fully bald though lmfao). Their skin is fairly smooth, but rubbery and thick like a whale's.

His species is a fairly new one, all things considered. Most have very short tails at the base of their spines as a holdover from when they lived in their planet's oceans, but they are usually almost unnoticeable.

They have several antler-like growths on the tops of their heads that drop off seasonally, which are often used for making tools or weapons. In the past, they were made into arrowheads, used to carve clay tablets, or embedded into clubs or other blunt weapons. They are also used as reminders of the fallen.

Their planet had no prior knowledge of aliens before they were invaded by the Galra. Following their planet's capture, they became a popular species for gladiators due to their size and build.

some of the things it doesnt like to do is just certain shapes and ways to handle it (on the top of my head twisting tends to break it up, too little water makes it crack - while too much makes it loose and soggy), but most of that is probably easiest to learn by playing around with it and seeing what works for you

using different bases can also affect how easy the clay is to work with. metal wires and aluminum foil seem to be the golden standard (the wires are easy to shape, the foil adds mass, and the clay is easy to get to stick to the foil. sometimes it can be a bit more difficult to get the clay over the wire, but in that case you can just put one really ugly and wonky first layer and fix it with more layers later)

for some reason, paper as a base ranges from hopeless (doesnt keep its shape and the clay wont stick) to mildly annoying (just worse than aluminum foil). basically any base can be transformed into a good base by putting aluminum foil on top of them

something that can be good to keep in mind with paper clay is that its basically paper mache - and because its paper pulp it has fibers. this affects how the clay holds together, and how you have to work with it to get parts made separately to stick together. the easiest way to get stuff to stick together is to use the base as help (sometimes i add more aluminum foil and wire even after i start to add clay) and/or to add a thin layer of clay over a wider area to help the new part get a good grip on the old clay. ive been thinking of making parts separately and then just gluing them on after they dry, but i havent tried it yet. it should work and is probably less finicky in many cases though!

as for brands i just use whatever i can get my hands on ^^

oh and one last thing - acrylics are probably the standard way to color paper clay after it dries, but since its paper clay you can use a lot of different art supplies meant to be used on paper. ive painted many of my creatures with old pro markers i had lying around!

Hello! I love the little clay animals you posted a few months ago. I recently got into polymer clay and now want to experiment with different types of clay (ideally something that doesn't involve baking plastic in my house 😅😅). I'd love to hear your experience working with paper clay, if you don't mind! Is it relatively easy to use? Is it pretty sturdy? Thanks!

hey no problem! i havent worked with polymer clay in a long time so idk how difficult it is to use comparatively.. but paper clay can be a little bit difficult imo, at least compared to "real" clay

having some tools to help with the shaping makes it much much easier though - and the same type of tools are often used for both polymer and paper clay!

the clay itself is both sturdy and not sturdy. if a figurine has few part that stick out you can drop it on the floor without problems. if it does have parts that stick out they tend to break off when they get hit. the easiest way to make sure this doesnt happen is to have some support beneath the clay (like metal wire + aluminum foil if its a thicker part) and to make sure the connection to the main body of the clay figure isnt too thin. on some animals ive made with longer tails the tail lies against the animals body for some extra support and sturdiness. oh, and the finished figures can be sensitive to water even if theyre sealed!

a lot of the shapes i use is mostly because its easier to do with the clay, i try to work with the material instead of struggling to do something with it it doesnt want to do haha
