IC TASK 006 - INTERROGATION when: december 13th
"Agent Choi, Agent Brown, Agent Murray," Jacqui greeted, nodding their head at the three members of the FBI who had returned to campus to continue investigating Greer, unfortunately familiar with them. All of the students were, she supposed - though she hated that they seemed to have a sense of recognition as they looked back at her, returning her greeting in murmured tones as they indicated she should join them at the seat across the table. They had notes in front of them, folders stacked, and one open in front of them. It was thin, not much in it - especially in comparison to some of the other ones on the table. That, at least, was a bit of a relief, assuming it was about them.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and speak with us today, Jacqui," Agent Murray said warmly. "We were hoping we could start with any information about Greer Morrison that's come light in the past year you may not have already shared with us."
Jacqui hesitated, their head tipping towards one shoulder as they glanced between the three agents. "In all honesty, officer, I'm not even entirely sure why I was called in to meet with you again," they started, speaking softly. "I was a freshman last year - Greer and I never even were students at Ogden at the same time. I wish I could help you, help provide answers, help get people some closure but...I can't. Practically everything that I've learned about her in the past year was new to me, but I think it's all common knowledge to people who actually knew her."
"Of course," Agent Choi said, nodding firmly as he cut in, responding immediately as if he had been expecting such a response from them. "You and Greer may not have been students at the same time, but you have other connections, correct? What was your relationship with her?"
A pause, their lips parting as they went to respond, though they closed after a second, before Jacqui gathered themself to answer. "Sure, but - I didn't really have a relationship with her. We had connections, in the same way most people do. I suppose...it's a small world, six degrees of separation, whatever you want to call it. I have family members who are Ogden alum - so does she. Similar circles, I guess," they explained.
The agent was the one who paused this time, eying Jacqui for a moment, an inscrutable smile on his face before he gave a nod. "I see," he said, Jacqui blinking once at the response, a hint of nerves fluttering in their stomach, though they did their best not to show it. "What about Penelope Klein or Ida Clarke? Or Samatha Jiminez?"
"I didn't have a relationship with them," Jacqui said, a furrow appearing in their brow as they gave a slight shake of their head. "Well, with Penelope or Ida. Sam, of course....Ollie is my roommate - Ollie Inoue - and they were close friends from home. So..." their voice trailed off, Jacqui raising up one shoulder in a blasé shrug. "Of course I got to know her a bit."
Agent Choi nodded, seemingly taking the lead of the interview now. Jacqui didn't know what that meant - didn't know what it meant that Agent Brown, who had been introduced as the lead investigator, hadn't said a word yet. Was that a good thing? Or...a bad? “So I'm assuming it's safe to say you don't know anything about Greer’s relationship with Penelope Klein?” Agent Choi asked, interrupting Jacqui's distraction regarding the agents.
Jacqui looked up at him again, brown eyes meeting the slightly impatient gaze settled on them before they shook their head again. "Again, Greer was gone before I ever came to this school - it's not like I even could've gathered any information in passing or through observing or gossip or anything. And since I didn't know Penelope either....no, I don't know anything. I didn't even know they had a relationship, but...I couldn't tell you anything about either of their social circles."
"Where were you when Penelope's body was found?"
The question was abrupt - the subject change even moreso. It caught Jacqui off guard, remembering that night, remembering the horror of everyone. They had tried to believe that it had been an accident, that she had fallen, but...
A furrow appeared on their brow, Jacqui thinking it over without actually letting themselves think of that night or any other. "It was New Year's - we were all caught in that horrible storm. I don't know exactly...I guess I didn't think much of it, until other people started meeting with Je - with Donovan Hart for that show."
"You didn't meet with him?" the agent asked.
"No. I think he was more interested in upperclassmen. People the same year as Penelope and Greer and his son," Jacqui said. She didn't react at all as she mentioned Jesse - which was the goal. They didn't really want to bring any attention to that, any reason for the agents to go down that path of questioning, because while she had no connection to Penelope and Greer, as the circle around them widened, that was when Jacqui could start getting pulled in. As the agents had already mentioned - there were connections.
"And what about the night of the fire on campus? We understand you were treated by some EMT's on the scene. Do you know why students were at the Commons when they should’ve been at the Commencement Gala?“
"I think...people just wanted to get away from their families. From graduation, you know. People get sad about the end of the year, worried about graduating, all of that." Jacqui hadn't had family come - as always. So they weren't one of those people, but how were they supposed to explain what had pulled them there? They couldn't - not without acknowledging the truths they had been dancing around this entire interview.
Agent Choi nodded, Agent Murray scrawling a few notes - as Agent Brown continued looming, listening, watching. “And over the past year," Agent Murray said, Jacqui jerking back slightly as her voice caught her off guard - she had been expecting to have Agent Choi continue asking all the questions, the seamless chiming in of the other Agent disrupting the flow. "Have you gotten any anonymous messages? Any threatening ones? Or any with…leading information?”
"Over the past...year?" Jacqui echoed, the words slow to leave her lips as she angled her head to one shoulder, as if thinking about it. As if recalling such a thing would even require digging through her memory. Did they know? "I'm sorry. I don't recall. I have my phone set to auto delete messages every month."
Not a lie.
Not the actual truth.
A tight smile was offered in their direction as Agent Murray nodded before speaking again. “Did you have any reason to suspect Greer Morrison was dead before this news came to light?
"No," Jacqui said, answering immediately and adamantly, their eyes widening. "No, of course not. I don't think anyone was thinking that - I don't think people want to think that still."
A moment of silence - a beat, before a last note was made, before Agent Brown finally leaned forward, pushing himself to his feet and stepping to open the door. "I think that's all the questions we have for you today - thank you for coming in, Jacqui."

Scott Clarke anyone?
“Alright kiddo, one for you, one for me.” Scott sat next to Eddie Munson, handing him an ice pack for the bruise already forming around his left eye.
“Thanks…” The boy wouldn’t look at him, refusing to meet his gaze. Scott wasn’t surprised, he had seen his own reflection, his nose and under his eyes was a nasty dark purple already.
“So…” Scott chugged along. “Do you want to tell me what happened?” Eddie only shook his head, pressing the ice to his face. This was the part of his job that Scott enjoyed the least.
Something happened between Eddie and Tommy Hagan this morning. There were more than enough black eyes, broken noses, and bloody knuckles to prove it. Scott had watched for the last few months as Eddie tried to find his place among his peers. With his primary friend group a year or two below him it wasn’t a surprise he was having trouble adjusting. And now this, a fight on his previously clean record. It was highly probable that Tommy antagonized Eddie until he got a reaction. But Scott couldn’t say that without creating more problems that none of them needed to deal with. If he could just get Eddie to tell him what happened. He didn’t have much faith, he had been trying to get this kid interested in class for weeks with little success. But that didn’t mean that he was going to quit now.
“You know what? That’s fair. I’m sure I wouldn’t want to talk about it either, if I were in your shoes. But Eddie, I can’t help you if I don’t know what happened. Shoot, I won’t even know what to tell your uncle when he gets here. Will you consider telling me even though you don’t want to? It would really make my life a whole lot simpler.”
Still, Eddie said nothing. But he reached into his backpack, hesitating for a moment before producing a newspaper. It was crumpled up, having seen better days, and Eddie refused to look at him as he handed it to the teacher. Scott set his own ice pack down, taking the paper gently and smoothing it down so it could be read.
His stomach twisted.
Wabash Local Faces Trial Born and raised in Wabash, Indiana, Edward Charles Munson Sr. was arrested May 13th, 1980. Beginning this week he will face trail for charges of auto theft, possession of controlled substances, distribution of controlled substances, breaking and entering, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Scott read those words at least three times in an attempt to wrap his mind around them. It was the answer to a lot of questions that seemed to follow the boy around.
It was already common knowledge that Eddie only moved to Hawkins permanently upon beginning to live with his uncle full time a few months ago. In town Wayne Munson was well liked. Friendly but quiet, he stuck to the few friends he had made upon his arrival, never partaking in town gossip or the rumor mill. There were whispers about how strange he was, the way he never seemed to go on dates or have an interest in finding a wife, for that matter. Some folks still believed Eddie was his son and he was lying to everyone about it. But even still, he was welcomed to the town when he arrived all those years ago, upon his return from Vietnam.
It would take less than a week for Wayne Munson's well received image to shatter if this headline started spreading around town.
"Eddie, is this what made you hit Tommy?" Scott folded the paper in half, hiding those words from anyone else who might see.

DUDELZ of the Damned | Rosie's in the Zone!
HEY THERE PEOPLE OF TODAY AND ROBOTS OF TOMORROW! IT'S ME, CLARK!
A chill is in the air. You can feel it can't you? Perhaps you even recognize it. That same chill arrives every year right on the dot. With it comes a frightful howl in the moonlight, the only other sound to be heard. Otherwise there is a strange calmness settling around you, like the point of ease before the storm. By now the howling has stopped. It has been replaced by a different sound. Footsteps. Big, heavy, dragging, as if the figure didn't quite know how to use their legs. Perhaps it's a random passerby. Perhaps it's a rotting, frightful feature freshly risen from the grave. Perhaps it's some other, unspeakable horror waiting to pounce! Whatever it is, you're not waiting around to find out! Yet no matter how far you run, it can't be escaped. The chill in the air, the howling of the wind, the heavy footsteps, it all leads back to one thing: October is here! And with it comes the return of the DUDELZ of the Damned!
Yes weirdos, like last year, my approximation of Sketchtober has returned. I call it an proxy because there was no list of prompts. Nah, that'd be too limiting. This is yet another case where I compiled my own list of ideas, sketched them out, then used one color per picture. With all that said, let's see what spoopy scribblings await us today!
Rosie unlocks a door with the key of imagination. What lies beyond is another dimension. Admittedly the Cosmic Cutie is no strange to alternate timelines, parallel realties, or diverging dimensions. This one, however, feels off somehow. Most areas of the multiverse feel 'solid' for a lack of words. Soon as the sentient spacial anomaly steps into this one, it feels 'fluid'. Not something one can touch or rationalize, but more so something at the pit of one's fears and the height of their imagination. Something is wrong. Something made abundantly clear when our multiversal adventurer turns around to find the door gone. Now it's the 13th hour on Maple Street. Or is it Mardi Gras in New Orleans? And where did this mask come from? Wait, not a mask, a drawing of a cat? Forget that drawing, there's something on the wing! Where is Rosie?! And how does she get out?!
Like a lot of good ideas, this one is a leftover. It's also based on something I very much wanna see one day: a crossover between Rosie Stardust and The Twilight Zone. A being who can pass between parallel realities would be perfect for a story like that and the Twilight Zone is one of my favorite classic series. You can tell by all the references seen here. My challenge to fans of the show is to guess which episode of story each one comes from. For now, here's hoping you're having a better time with this sketch than Rosie is. And remember: Rod Serling was the GOAT.
BONUS QUESTION: Which episode of The Twilight Zone is your favorite?
MAY THE GLASSES BE WITH YOU!

God Increases as Self Decreases :The big surprise was the discovery that the orientation association area showed decreased activity in brain scans. A key area in the brain that defines “self” (the orientation association area, or OAA) shows significantly diminished brain activity during intense prayer.
We know that the orientation area never rests, so what could account for this unusual drop in activity levels in this small section of the brain? As we pondered the question, a fascinating possibility emerged. What if the orientation area was working as hard as ever, but the incoming flow of sensory information had somehow been blocked? That would explain the drop in brain activity in the region. More compellingly, it would also mean that the OAA had been temporarily “blinded,” deprived of the information it needed to do its job properly.14 When we pray, self decreases and God increases (see John 3:30).
Consider the words of 13th-century Franciscan sister Angela of Foligno:
“How great is the mercy of the one who realized this union…. I possessed God so fully that I was no longer in my previous customary state but was led to find a peace in which I was united with God and was content with everything.”15 At such times, our spirit overrides our normal self-awareness somehow, allowing us to encounter a spiritual realm that proves its own reality. Teresa of Avila reports, “God visits the soul in a way that prevents it doubting when it comes to itself that it has been in God and God in it…and so firmly is it convinced of this truth that, though years may pass before this state recurs, the soul can never forget it, to doubt its reality.”16 The mind remembers mystical experience with the same degree of clarity and sense of reality that it bestows upon memories of “real” past events. The same cannot be said of hallucinations, delusions, or dreams. We believe this sense of realness strongly suggests that the accounts of the mystics are not indications of minds in disarray, but are the proper, predictable neurological result of a stable, coherent mind willing itself to a higher spiritual plane.17 Science has now verified that we are made with the “equipment” to seek God and find Him.18 It appears that our brain has transcendent machinery that joins head and heart together in spiritual experience.19 “Science has surprised us, and our research has left us no choice but to conclude…that the mind’s machinery of transcendence may in fact be a window through which we can glimpse the ultimate realness of something that is truly divine.”20 As a result of his research, Dr. Newberg has reached the conclusion that our encounters with God are biologically, observably, and measurably real. If we are created to discover God, and we are, then our experience of Him is limited only by the diligence of our pursuit.🍀DR J Clark

If I Could Turn Back Time
Workaholic Clarke has one major regret. It’s deep and won’t heal and it has been haunting her for years. And every time she thinks about Lexa, it all comes back to her. One night, part way into drowning her musings on missed chances in a bottle of expensive red wine, Clarke is interrupted by the unexpected appearance of an unexpected guest in a very unlikely place, offering her a glimpse at something she thought she would never have: a second chance.
Read on ao3
As soon as the door falls shut behind her, Clarke lets her bag slide from her shoulder and lazily watches it drop to the floor. She tosses her keys onto the sideboard where it crashes down at a respectful distance to the wooden bowl where she had planned on aiming it. For a second, Clarke considers a groan but working one up seems too difficult right now. She’ll clean it all up later. Or tomorrow. Shrugging off her coat, she lets it fall to the floor next to her bag, then picks up the paper bag containing her take-out dinner and makes her way into the kitchen.
Two minutes later, she is seated on a high stool at her breakfast bar, staring out the window while slowly chewing on her very delicious but lonely tandoori chicken. Her back hurts, her shoulders are killing her and she has a hard time keeping her eyes open but the comfort food feels good. She can’t remember her last proper meal, some time between last Thursday and a few 24 hour shifts at the hospital, she figures. What day is it anyway? She swallows and reaches for her phone to check. Ah, the date is Friday, the 13th. Go figure.
Lucky I’m not superstitious, Clarke tells herself. I’m just stupid.
On duty for a week straight until her mother finally sent her home tonight after finding her asleep on a chair in a patient’s room. Fuck. This is the life.
Her phone buzzes in her hand, startling her a little more awake again.
“O,” she groans after accepting the call.
“Was that my name or the sound of defeat?”
There’s muffled talking and music in the background. “Both. I am so tired, I can’t think anymore.”
“I have just the prescription for that,” her friend’s voice chirps into her ear. “I’m at the bar with Raven, Wells and a few others. Come join us! You need to get out.”
“I just got in,” Clarke groans, rubbing the bridge of her nose. “I am not going out again. No way in hell.”
“Clarkey, come on! You need to go out every now and then. When’s the last time you got laid?”
“I get laid every night, O.”
“In your dreams!”
You don’t know how true that is, Clarke thinks. In her dreams. And not every night. But every so often … and it’s always–
“Are you coming or not?”
“Another time. Tell the others I said hi. Have fun. Have a drink for me. Or two.”
“You sad woman! Sleep if you must. But you do need a life. There’s this guy here that you said was cute the last time you went out with us last century. He’s alone.” Octavia makes an effort to put special emphasis onto that one word. “Alone like you, Clarke. Work can’t make up for a hottie in bed, you know. Your past may have been bleak, but your future looks really dire.”
“Leave it, O.” The laughter in the background makes her cringe. Maybe she’d go if she wasn’t quite so tired. But tonight, no way.
Octavia means well, Clarke knows that. All her friends do. Which is why Clarke promised herself to try and see them more often. She really has but it seems work always gets in the way. It’s important work, saving lives, and that makes her work meaningful, so much more meaningful than anything else in her life. She’s good at her job and she enjoys it. Mostly. She rolls her head, a feeble attempt at easing some of the tension in her shoulders. As the youngest and most promising surgeon at the hospital, as a woman and as the head surgeon’s daughter, she has to work harder too. Her mother sure doesn’t make it easy for her.
Or maybe that’s just making up excuses. A wave or tiredness washes over her as she puts down the phone, and she pushes the plate of food away, half full still, to pull the wine glass closer. She takes a sip, enjoying the warm, heavy taste that fills her mouth. Maybe she does need to get railed. Mentally scrolling through her embarrassingly short list of possible candidates, she quickly ticks them off as not what she wants. Niylah? Too intense. Finn? Too stupid. The cute nurse that was giving her the looks last night? What was her name? But no, Clarke sighs quietly, she’s too tired tonight. Too tired for anything.
She downs the last of the wine in her glass, mindlessly staring at the dark window in front of her. She can see a reflection of herself, can make out the dark circles under her eyes and yes, she looks as tired as she feels. She’ll have a hot shower and crawl into bed, by herself, warming the sheets up on her own, falling asleep right away. There is only one person she would want there with her anyway. And Lexa is gone.
~ Years ago, the day before Clarke’s 18th birthday ~
Clarke picks up the phone again to call her friend once more. Lexa promised to be there and help bake the cookies for the birthday party the next day. It’s a new recipe they wanted to try out together. Like they do everything together and always have.
It’s just a ruse though because Clarke has something important to tell Lexa. Sweet, beautiful, smart Lexa, her childhood friend. Her friend for so many years, there isn’t a single secret left between them. And the one who makes her heart beat so fast, it makes her gasp. It hasn’t always been like this. But it is now and if there is one thing Clarke knows for sure, it is that she wants more of this. And she needs Lexa to know. When Clarke called her earlier, Lexa hadn’t picked up. With the cookies baking, she dials the number again. It starts to ring and her heart beats up in her throat.
This time, Lexa picks up.
“Hey,” Clarke says hesitantly, hearing someone giggle in the background. “I thought you wanted to come over.”
Lexa is quiet for a moment. “It’s not a good time, Clarke. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“But you promised!”
“Yeah, I know.” Lexa sounds distracted and Clarke frowns.
“Is Costia with you?”
She’s seen them together. She’s watched them grow closer. It hurts.
“Yeah, Costia is here,” Lexa says slowly and then, quietly, turned away from the phone, “Stop it, let me talk to her.”
“But I need you to come over!” Clarke almost shouts. I have to tell you that I love you. I have to tell you that you can’t be with her because you have to be with me.
“I’m not your property, Clarke,” Lexa snaps, her tone unusually harsh. “I can’t jump every time you want me to.”
Costia giggles again and Clarke imagines her trying to pull Lexa closer. Also imagines her punching Costia’s face.
It was all the time before. It was always you and me. What’s happening?
Anger flares up in her chest, the burn of rising tears stinging in her eyes. Doesn’t Lexa know this is important? It’s her 18th birthday tomorrow and Clarke doesn’t want to let another day pass having these feelings. But it’s the anger that makes it out first, pushing all other feelings out of its way.
“Suit yourself,” Clarke growls. “Don’t bother. We’re done.” She sends the phone flying into the corner of the kitchen counter and storms out of the room. Her dad calls after her from the living room but she doesn’t stop until she has reached her room and the door slams shut behind her. By now, her tears are flowing freely. If Lexa doesn’t want her, she doesn’t want Lexa either.
The letter is written quickly. And taken to the mailbox at the street corner within 20 minutes. A little over the top perhaps, to post a handwritten letter, but fitting.
~ Present Day ~
Clarke regrets the letter to this day. She shouldn’t have been so angry. Maybe they’d still had a chance, if only she had tried. They had grown up together, inseparable, best friends, up until Lexa had suddenly looked very different to her. Up until Clarke had wanted to kiss her but had never had the nerve to say anything. Then came the day of her 18th birthday, the day she had chosen to tell Lexa the truth. And the day she cut Lexa out of her life. Tears well up in her eyes suddenly and she blinks them away, wiping at them roughly before reaching for the wine bottle.
Just as she tilts it to fill her glass a second time, a loud thud outside on the balcony startles her into spilling the red liquid on the white counter.
“Ah, fuck. What the hell?”
Tall windows line the entire wall, the view unspoilt, one of the perks of living high up with no nosy neighbors close by. The light from the kitchen allows her to see a few inches of the balcony floor but not far. It’s quiet again but Clarke is sure the sound came from out there. A bird maybe, that flew into the window? It happened. She sets down the bottle, ignoring the red puddle for the moment, and slips off her chair. She grabs the baseball bat from the corner and cautiously makes her way to the sliding door. Opening it a crack, she listens. There’s a shuffling sound to her left and she opens the door wider to peak out. Not sure what she expected but a person lying face down in the corner of her balcony most definitely wasn’t it.
“Uh, hello?” Clarke steps outside, the doctor taking over right away, and she rushes over to the unmoving figure. Getting into a crouch, she puts her hand on the person’s back.
“Are you okay?”
“Woah,” is the reply and the person turns onto their back. It’s a young man. Clarke has never seen him before. “That was a bit rough.” He moves to sit up and smiles sweetly at her. “Yeah, I’m fine. Thank you.”
Confused, Clarke looks around. They’re on the 20th floor of the building, there’s no way he could have climbed up here. Unless he flew, but she sees no wings. The roof is another four floors up, no ladders or balconies there either, no dangling ropes, no parachutes. Where the hell did he come from? It’s like he fell from the sky.
“Where did you come from?” she asks him and she lifts the bat slightly as he gets up and dusts himself off even though there’s not a speck of dirt on his bright white clothes.
“We need to talk.” He grabs her arm, ignoring the weapon in her hand and pushes her firmly towards the balcony door. “Let’s do that inside. You’ll be cold out here.”
For a reason Clarke doesn’t understand, even though her inner voice tells her to knock him out, she just nods. He seems nice, has a friendly smile and gentle manners, and there's nothing threatening about him. He steps inside and she follows him, watching him take in the spilled wine on the breakfast bar.
He tuts softly and turns, hands clasped in front of his chest. In the light, Clarke can finally take a good look at him. His young face is framed by dark, unruly curls that give him something mischievous, the impression deepening with the small smile playing around his lips. He’s wearing a crisp white shirt, tucked into crisp white pants and clean, brand new, white sneakers. His skin looks soft, a slight golden glow to it. He’s pretty. Everything about him is pretty, from the curls on his head to the perfectly manicured fingernails. Perfect. That’s what he is. Perfect. Clarke finally lowers the bat.
“Okay. So…don’t freak out now,” he starts and lifts his chin a little. “I’m Anael. Your guardian angel.”

Tis the Season (3/5)
December 11th-15th: Bruising, Besotted, Bollocking and Balls
Pairings: Ethan Ramsey x Victoria Clarke
Word count: 2.2k
Rating: Teen/Mature
Category: angst, fluff, smut, series
Summary: Series: It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Boston Chapter 3: Victoria gets injured and then told off by her boss
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Full Masterlist
December 11th
The excitement of today caught up with her as the adrenaline wore off and the pain in her ankle disrupted her thoughts.
She thought it would be exciting, being called out on an emergency paramedic ride along to attend an accident near the water. A train derailment was bound to make all the nearby hospitals busy and Victoria was asked to attend the scene to help some of the seriously injured. Whilst she was there, she noticed a young boy trapped in the wreckage. Victoria knew she had to do something and pulled him to safety but once she got him out, a piece of equipment fell onto her ankle.
Luckily, scans at the hospital showed it wasn’t broken it was only bruised and that plenty of rest was needed. However, that didn’t stop Ethan from freaking out when he met up with her in the ER.
“Victoria! Are you okay?” Ethan said as he approached her and pulled her into a tight hug.
“Yes Ethan I’m fine. Just tired. I’m sorry I know you’re angry with me.” Victoria sighed as she leant into his embrace.
“I’m not angry. Just relieved you’re okay.” Ethan said as he pressed a kiss to the side of her head.
“They said I could go home when you came down here. I just need to rest my ankle.” Victoria said.
“Well there’s only one way to get you to the car.” Ethan smiled. He picked her up bridal style and carried her to Bloom Edenbrook’s parking lot.
“You know you’ll need to carry me like this on our actual wedding day.” Victoria smirked as they headed towards Ethan’s car.
“So we’re getting married are we?” Ethan grinned as he set Victoria down gently so he could open the passenger car door.
“It’s all up here.” Victoria tapped her head.
“Ah yes. That intelligent brain of yours.” Ethan laughed.
“I was thinking more like sexy. I know you love a woman who knows her way round a text book.” Victoria winked as she got in the car.
“I prefer when it’s a diagnostics whiteboard or a chart. And there’s only one woman that comes to mind.” Ethan grinned as he got into the drivers seat.
“That’s not the only think I know my way round as well.”
“Hmm. Would you like to elaborate a little further?”
“In fact, the one thing I’m thinking about, I don’t know my way round it, I know my way up and down it.” Victoria smirked.
“Well then how about we head home and you can demonstrate what you mean?”
“Better put your foot on the gas Ramsey.”
December 13th
The loud snores from Jenner beside him kept distracting Ethan from the documentary he was trying to watch. It was just the two of them in the apartment, Victoria was out with her friends tonight.
Deep down, Ethan didn’t want her to go but she insisted. Her ankle was healing nicely, she could put weight on it again. She promised him she wouldn’t go on the ice tonight and would instead watch from the sidelines. It made him feel at ease but he also felt a little regret in being harsh with her.
It had nothing to do with the fight they had last week. Every time she went out and did something, he constantly worried about her. Worried that it may be the last time he sees her.
He knew it would never happen, but ever since the Senator attack last year, Ethan worried about Victoria a lot more than usual. He knew she didn’t need protecting, but he always felt at ease when he knew she was at home safe.
He had exchanged messages with her earlier and she was now on her way home. Ethan couldn’t wait to have her back in his arms again. He grabbed some chocolates that they bought together from his fridge and set them out in front of him. Just as he did that, the front door opened and Victoria stepped through the door.
Ethan rushed over to her and pulled her into a tight hug, pressing kisses to the side of her head as she buried hers into the crook of his neck. They stood like that for a few minutes, in each other’s arms, neither saying a word but they didn’t need to. Just the quiet was all they needed.
When Victoria pulled back, she saw the softest smile on his face. “Hi.” She whispered softly.
“Hi. How was your evening?” Ethan said as he led them to the couch and pulled her down beside him.
“It was a lot of fun. Elijah and I loved watching everyone fall over.” Victoria chuckled as she laid against his chest.
Ethan wrapped his arms around her, closing his eyes as he breathed her in, a gentle hand rubbing her back. “I’m glad you had fun.”
“I know you were worried about me, but honestly I’m okay. I glad I have you looking out for me.” Victoria smiled.
“Till the day I die.” Ethan smiled back.
December 14th
He strides through the corridor, Doctors, nurses and even some patients dodging out the way as he makes his way to the team office. Fury was seeping through him. He had told her if they needed help they could call him. She didn’t listen to him and it resulted in Tobias getting injured.
Ethan may have overreacted slightly when he suggested Tobias could sue the hospital. He knew he would never go that far. He held Tobias highly since he joined the team but that didn’t stop him heading to the office to talk to them all. Bloom Edenbrook’s staff knew better than to stand in his way but everyone eager to know why he was in such a rush.
He reached the office in no time, opening the door without even knocking before closing it behind him.
“Come in why don’t you.” Victoria rolled her eyes.
“This is no time for jokes Clarke.” Ethan said. It was the first time he had called her by her surname. He felt it was appropriate given the fact that the team were currently in the room but the name and tone in which he said it took her aback for a second.
“Ethan you need to calm the hell down. Everything was being handled perfectly fine. We don’t need to make you aware every time we have a difficult patient.” Harper said.
“That’s not the point Harper. As Chief I should know about the ongoings in my hospital.”
“We didn’t tell you because there’s nothing to tell. My hand is not badly injured, Victoria stitched it up perfectly.” Tobias held his hand up.
“The patient was being difficult but it was nothing we couldn’t handle. We were able to sedate him very quickly.” Gary Garrison said from where he was sitting.
“I appreciate your comments but that’s not the case. Injuries to doctors are very serious and if not taken seriously there could be wider repercussions down the line.”
“Ethan you’re being paranoid. If it makes you feel better, we’ll be more cautious in the future.” Victoria said, her expression softening.
The minute he looked into her eyes, his anger evaporated. All it took was a simple look.
“Thank you. That’s all I really asked for.” Ethan said before turning round and heading out the door, striding back down the corridor to his office.
It was around an hour later before Victoria visited him, locking the door and closing the blinds. She slowly made her way over to his desk, each step echoing on the hard floor.
“What are you doing?” Ethan asked.
She didn’t answer him, instead she sat on his desk and pulled him out of his chair so he was facing her. Before Ethan could react, she grabbed his tie and pulled him to her, her body pressed against his before she pressed her lips harshly to his.
“You have no idea how incredibly hot that was.” Victoria smiled as she pulled away, nuzzling her nose against his.
“The idea wasn’t to make you turned on, it was to tell you off.” Ethan said, although he disagreed with what he said entirely.
“And yet all I could think about was how sexy you looked. You’ve reprimanded people in front of me before but there was something about the way you looked at me today that was incredibly hot.” Victoria said.
“I’d prefer not to reprimand you and your colleagues again in the future so please keep that in mind Rookie.” Ethan said.
Victoria wrapped her legs around him, the dress she was wearing hitching further up her thighs, which allowed Ethan to grab her and pull her closer to him.
“Can’t make any promises there. What I specifically love is when you soften when you look at me. It reminds me of the effect I have on you.”
“If only you were there when I was arguing with Cyrus in the conference room. You definitely would’ve stopped me from calling him a self important poser.” Ethan chuckled.
“No I wouldn’t because he deserves it.” Victoria laughed. “But since I find your sense of leadership and protection so incredibly hot, what can I do to make you ravage me right here on your desk?” Victoria whispered the last part in his ear, pressing a small kiss to his neck.
“Well my afternoon meeting was cancelled until tomorrow and you’ve already done the job of locking the door and closing the blinds so I would say it won’t take much to convince me.” Ethan grinned.
“You mean I won’t have to get on my knees and beg?”
“You’ll be on your knees for an entirely different reason.” Ethan said as his hands found the zip on her dress.
The two were uninterrupted for the rest of the afternoon.
December 15th
“Why does Ethan look like he wants to murder someone?” Jennifer laughed as she joined Victoria by the bar.
“Probably because he does.” Victoria laughed as she sipped her champagne. “It took a lot of persuasion to make him come out tonight. Luckily I promised him we could leave at 11.”
“He really hates rubbing shoulders with Boston’s elite doesn’t he? I suppose I’ll have to get used to this when I move here in January.”
“I’m so excited Raf asked you! You’re gonna love it here. It’s been way too long since one of my besties has been in the same area as me.” Victoria smiled.
“I’ve missed you too. Ash and Den are gonna be making frequent trips here in the new year.” Jennifer laughed.
“I hope you’re not going to keep my girlfriend by the bar all night Victoria.” Rafael grinned as he approached them.
“She found me actually.” Victoria shrugged.
“A woman needs to keep topped up on champagne in order to get her through the evening.” Jennifer smiled as she wrapped her arms around Rafael.
“It’s best not to come in between Jenny and her drinks.” Victoria laughed.
“I’ve already learnt that. I think Ethan wants you to rescue him from those donors.” Rafael pointed to the other side of the room.
“When he texts an SOS I’ll go rescue him. Deep down he knows he has to make small talk no matter how much he hates it.” Victoria laughed.
“Ramsey is out for blood. An old doctor from Mass Kenmore is trying to talk to him. He once criticised Ethans keynote speech at a conference.” Tobias said as he and Gary made their way over to the bar.
“Oh dear. Are his fingers clenched in his hands?”
“No? Is that significant?” Gary asked.
“Then he doesn’t need saving yet. Once he starts getting really irate and bothered he starts to clench his fists, then it’s time for backup.”
“Has Ethan punched people before then?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes.” Victoria and Tobias said laughing.
“He admitted to punching Declan Nash once.” Victoria said.
“How have I never heard this story before?” Rafael chuckled.
“He doesn’t punch and tell.” Tobias laughed.
“Speak of the devil.” Victoria said, holding up her phone. Ethan had text her, asking her to save him from the people he was in conversation with.
“Is that a call for arms?” Tobias teased.
“Almost definitely.”
“He definitely didn’t look happy when we saw him.” Gary said.
“He’ll be fine once I’ve given him another scotch.” Victoria said as she replied to his texts.
She prayed no one was looking over her shoulder. They definitely would not understand the game they played when they had alone time. In their bed specifically.
Victoria grabbed a scotch from the bar attender and headed in his direction.
“You took your time.” Ethan rolled his eyes, taking the glass from her when she approached him.
“I was having a delightful conversation with my fellow colleagues by the bar. Then I got your SOS and here I am to save the day.” Victoria smiled.
“I could’ve needed you sooner.”
“Ah but you didn’t clench your fists! When you do that, then when you need rescuing.”
“You really do know me don’t you?” Ethan laughed as he wrapped an arm around her.
“I do. Now behave and soon you’ll be able to do whatever you want to me when we get home.” Victoria said.
“Any specific requests?” Ethan asked.
“Only that the blindfold should be extra tight Mr Ramsey.” Victoria replied with a small laugh, squeezing his hand.
“I’ll keep that in mind Miss Clarke.” Ethan said, kissing the last of her laughter away.
I hope you liked this! We’ve got a lot of fluff coming up before the angst returns at the end
Also surprise! Gary Garrison filled the empty spot on the diagnostics team! I considered making up a new character but I thought considering he was the best intern, he would be the best fit

🍄Mon 21 Dec ‘20🎉
Liam says he just finished his last thing of the year- CONGRATS BUD I know you were stressed about getting it all done!!- and issues a formal thank you to a faithful helper: his laptop, which “has seen more zooms than I've had dinners, thank you... you can rest now.” That last thing he did was an interview about the wizarding world thing, not yet posted, although he then comes back one more time to post a santa-hat bedtime selfie captioned 'merry christmas you filthy animals'. He's leaving us with plenty of prerecorded content to keep the updates going during his break though; for example he and Roman Kemp have something coming on the 27th, which makes sense what with it being a day ending in a Y and all, it's something about a naughty or nice list, I guess we'll see. And in their fourth to last alarm today, the final round of christmas cracker jokes-- bringing it up to date with an “elf isolation” punchline, nice! I mean not in the sense of being funny but like, timely, also Liam is actually back on the alarm so cheers to that.
They could have hit up Louis for jokes-- he's famous for them! Apparently! A museum exhibition in Baltimore (viewable virtually) quotes him as the author of a vaguely science-y joke-- (“why did the mushroom go to the party? because he's a fungi!”). He definitely isn't the originator of it but me as the curator who was like 'well he said this once and any excuse to write Louis' name on this wall, LET'S DO IT'. Everyone but you is out here telling bad jokes Harry, come reclaim your crown sir!
Niall puts on a cowboy accent for the dramatic unboxing of a Diplo promo package (LP, hankie- “very sexy!”, t-shirt, USB stick- “jeez haven't seen one of these in a while”), it's for a country album with features from Julia Michaels, Cam, Orville Peck, and more that came out back in May, and he knocks off some official sponcon unboxing as well, looking cozy in the promotional knitwear.
Aaaand the Clarks are at it again! First grandma Ruth said Louis was in LA with Freddie until two days ago (she also said he was going to spend xmas with him, pick one lady, but anyway) and everyone put on their thinking caps and were like okaaaay he COULD have flown to LA the day after his show and been there the 13th-18th but that seems crazy and would mean NO quarantine on either end (definitely not allowed in either place), but there's a rumor that Harry is back in London maybe Louis went to LA and got him or something?? But just when they almost had us, enter Brett to try to oversell and screw it all up- in response to a fan pointing out how ridiculous that was, Brett said 'no it's not, Louis was there for two whole weeks his livestream was just prerecorded' LMAO. This is pretty epic since your options are now: you can believe that Louis pulled a conspiracy of moon landing level complexity to pretend that a show that had been recorded previously was live, enlisting not just Veeps but also dozens of people also pretending it was happening at that time, many of them on their obscure official business accounts, without a single slip up, for NO REASON (he could have just visited the kid at... any other time, or had the show at a different time, or been like here's a prerecorded show), OR you can believe that Brett and his family are, hmmm, giant liars! Wild notion!! Sooo anyway guys tell me again how YOU don't believe in wacky conspiracy theories like us crazypants larries... I'm waiting...
#louis tomlinson#liam payne#niall horan#brett does not understand the two week quarantine rule lol he def said that cause he was like TWO WEEKS#that's what it's supposed to be for regulations right?? a TWO WEEK VISIT what an idiot#(Louis otoh knows all about two week rules)#as usual Liam alone is keeping this account from having to branch out to random other celebs thanks for prerecording stuff for break pal#hope that vaccine gets working soon after he goes for his big retreat or these are about to get reeeeal short#bg#freddie#diplo#roman kemp#20 dec 20#but if I WAS branching out to random other celebs it would be Phil Lester dressing up like Harry (Fine Line cover)#he complains about his trousers being see through tho so not a very good impression overall Harry would have embraced that

You all head back to the cave that you and Octavia had taken Bellamy to. “Where’s Lincoln?” Bellamy asks.
“Pike put a bullet in his brain,” Octavia says trying her hardest not to break down.
“O...O, I am so sorry,” Bellamy says right before Octavia connects her fist with his face. Bellamy doesn’t speak a word as Octavia continually lands punches on his face.
“Octavia, that’s enough,” Kane says.
“Kane, stay out of this,” Bellamy responds, accepting his fate. Octavia then begins to beat him even harder, letting out as much rage as possible. Even though Bellamy was the reason for Lincoln’s death, it wasn’t the easiest to watch his little sister punch him over and over again.
“Stop, that’s enough,” Miller says knowing the group couldn’t bear to standby. He tried to pull Octavia away but was just pushed back by a heartbroken and sobbing Octavia.
“Miller, back off,” Bellamy says. Octavia still punches her brother.
“You’re dead to me,” Octavia says to Bellamy before walking away to cool off. After everything seemed to have settled down, you all gather to make a plan on what the next steps are.
“I say, we run two-man patrols, round the clock, starting now.,” Bryan suggests.
“We’ll do that but we should be safe here. The grounder blockade’s too close for Pike to risk looking for us,” Kane says.
“Yeah, but are we safe from the blockade?” Bryan questions reasonably.
“As long as we stay on this side of the line, we should be,” Kane reassures.
“They’re grounders, you really think they’re gonna play by the rules?” Bryan asks.
“Hey, Pike will want you dead now, too. We take him out, we can go home,” Miller says.
“We take him out, then the grounders lift the blockade,” You add.
“That’s right. We become the 13th clan, again. Those were the terms.
“Lexa’s terms. If what Bellamy says is true and she’s dead, how do we know the next commander will honor them?” Sinclair asks.
“One problem at a time,” Kane answers.
“What about Clarke? With Lexa gone, she’s not safe at Polis,” Miller asks.
“Clarke made her choice,” You say.
“The only thing that matters now is killing Pike,” Octavia says breaking her silence.
“Octavia’s right. Once we resume our place in the commander’s coalition, Clarke will be safe, so how do we do it?” Kane asks you all.
“Bellamy, come in. It’s Monty, I’m in trouble. Please say you still have your radio,” You hear Monty say over the radio.
“If we respond and Pike’s listening--” Sinclair starts.
“We go to channel 7. ‘Please say you still have your radio.’ That’s seven words after the word “trouble.” It’s code, go to seven,” Bellamy interrupts. Everyone seems unsure until Kane gives the go-ahead to do so. Sinclair turns the radio to channel 7 and hands it to Kane.
“Bellamy, are you there?” Monty asks again.
“Monty, it’s Kane. What’s wrong?” Kane says answering for Bellamy.
“Pike knows that I helped you get out,” Monty says.
“Can you get to the dropship?” Kane asks.
“I think so,” He responds.
“Good. Go there, I’ll bring you in. Stay off the radio. Over and out,” Kane says.
“Hold on, what if it’s a trap and Pike’s waiting?” Harper asks.
“That’s why I’m going alone,” Kane says.
“Like hell you are,” Octavia protests.
“I agree with Octavia. That’s stupid and dangerous,” You say.
“I’m with Octavia and Y/N. Monty saved our lives. I’m going too,” Miller says.
“No, you’re not. If it is a trap, I’m not marching our entire insurgency into it,” Kane says.
“To stop me, you’re gonna have to kill me,” Octavia says.
“She hopes it’s a trap,” Bellamy says.
“He’s coming, too. We’ll need a hostage to trade for Monty,” Octavia says. Seeing as there is no way to convince Octavia otherwise, Kane agrees with her plan.
“He stays chained, gag him,” Kane says.
“Sir, with all due respect--” Miller starts.
“He’s the enemy. Do what I said,” Kane says, giving you no choice. You all then prepare to make your way to the dropship, but the rest stay behind in case.. Kane, Octavia, and Bellamy head into the opening as you hide.
“Monty?” Kane yells out, but no appearance or response.
“Get outside! Now!” Octavia yells after taking a hold of Bellamy. Soon enough Monty appears, but so does a gun behind his head with Pike holding it.
“He followed me. I’m sorry,” Monty says.
“Let him go, Pike,” Kane says.
“Can’t do that,” Pike says before a gunshot hits by their feet. You quickly look to see where it came from. “It’s over. Put down your weapons. Come on, Marcus,” Pike says and another bullet hits the ground by their feet. “I promised Monty’s mother that I’d bring him home alive. Don’t make me a liar,” Pike says. Kane then lowers his gun and tosses it away from himself. “Now, you,” Pike says to Octavia.
Octavia doesn’t obey and instead moves her machete to the front of Bellamy’s throat. Bellamy then takes her arm and wraps it around, not letting her get leverage and the rest of Pikes group comes out of into the clearing, handcuffing Octavia. Pike comes up to Bellamy, but they’re talking too quietly for you to hear.
“You son of a ---” Octavia yells as she’s hit with a baton after Bellamy says something.
“Sir. I found one more,” A man says as he pulls you out of the bushes. They don’t hesitate to handcuff you and bring you with the others. Bellamy leads the way back to the cave, with Pike’s people.
“Sure about the route?” Pike asks Bellamy. “We’re getting close to the blockade line,”
“That’s why Kane set up out here. He didn’t think we’d risk it,” Bellamy says.
“Well, he was wrong,” Pike responds.
“What’s gonna happen to my sister and Y/N? I know they have to answer for their crimes, but--” Bellay asks.
“I’ll tell you what. I’ll make you the same promise I made to Monty’s mother. But this will only apply to Octavia, Y/N still has to answer for her crimes. Immunity from all past actions, but if she screws up again--,” Pike says.
“Oh, she won’t. I’ll make sure of it. My sister, my responsibility. But what about Y/N’s punishment,” Bellamy says.
“I’ll have to talk to the rest. It depends on what all of her accusations are,” Pike says. Bellamy stays silent, you guess that he doesn’t know how to respond.
You all continue to trek through the forest getting closer and closer to the blockade. “Hold on,” Pike says, feeling like something is off.
“The cave’s just on the other side,” Bellamy says. You’re not exactly sure what he was planning, but you are awfully close to the blockade.
“Keep a sharp eye out,” Pike says to his men as Bellamy moves into the clearing. You and the rest of the group move gingerly into the clearing. Soon enough you hear a horn go off.
“The blockade. Anybody got eyes?” Pike yells.
“I got nothing,” A man says.
“Back to higher ground,” Pike says turning towards the hill.
“Drop your weapon,” Bellamy says taking Pikes handgun from his holster.
“What the hell are you doing?” Pike asks.
“Drop your weapon!” Bellamy yells. You notice Pike’s men starting to turn to hold their guns towards you, so you and Octavia fight back despite your hands being bound.
“We bring you Chancellor Pike of the Sky People. O, translate,” Bellamy says. Octavia pulls out her gag and translates.
“You’ve killed us all,” Pike says to Bellamy.
“Take him. Lift this blockade,” Bellamy says. Octavia translates and the archers take out Pike’s people, before coming in for an ambush. Octavia goes in to kill Pike, but Kane stops her.
Pike tries to go for Bellamy’s gun, but a grounder archer puts an arrow in his shoulder and another one knocks him out.
“Where are you taking him?” Kane asks and the grounders pick Pike up.
“To the new Commander,” The grounder says.
“May I join you?” Kane asks and shows his mark of the 13th clan. “We’re the 13th clan,”
“Don’t slow us down,” The man says and walks away.
“Are you sure? We know nothing about the new commander,” You ask.
“I’m sure. Go home. Tell our people what happened here. Tell Abby, I’ll look out for Clarke,” Kane says and heads off with the grounders after talking to Bellamy. The rest of you gather everything up and head back to Arkadia.
A/N: We’re back in the world of the 100. I hope you all enjoyed this part! I’m sorry if Y/N doesn’t have like a ton of parts right now, I’m trying to figure out what to exactly do with she/he/they during this time. Although, I do have a plan for later in the series.

Arrowverse Season 2021/22 Overview:
„Supergirl“‘s and „Stargirl“‘s 2020/21-Seasons are still running, which is very strange, but I wanted to make on of those anyways before the new Seasons are starting to air, so I will just include „Supergirl“ in it for one last time, I guess. But with the upcoming Five Episode Event I felt like I had to do one.
Supergirl:
„Supergirl“ Season 6 is still airing, and even though the season does actually belong to the 2020/21-Season while the 2021/22 Season is about to start, the show will be around for two more months. The Finale will air on November 9th, it will be a two hour event, so to speak, however it is currently unknown if the last two episodes are an actual two-parter or if they are just airing on the same day for scheduling reasons.
We have reached the second half of the season, which will include the guest appearances of well known faces, starting with Mxyzptlk and John Diggle in the current episodes. Mxy will of course return in later episodes to wrap up his storyline. Lex and Lillian will also make their return. Odette Annable was supposed to return somewhen this season, but since we have not heard anything about that anymore, it might have fallen through. However we will see Eliza Danvers and our boys again. Eliza as well als James, Winn and Mon-El will be in the Series Finale and some of them might drop in sometime before that. Nyxly and her hunt for totems will be the main story arc in the upcoming episodes, with each episode focusing on one totem and its trait and a Superfriend, who does represent that trait. Also, both Kelly and Lena will embrace their newfound destinies, while William will be tasked with Andrea’s Superfriends focused news stories.
Hopefully we will get so see M’gann somewhen before the show wraps again and get an explanation for her absence since Kara has returned, but this is not confirmed. Also John Diggle might be the only guest appearance from other Arrowverse Shows for the Final Season. In theory Clark, Lois and Barry could show up, however only if they would have filmed those scenes around the time their respective Seasons wrapped and before they went on leave. It does however seem that we will see the return of Overgirl in the Finale. There is going to be an epic battle (or a couple of battles) that will involve pretty much everyone (including James, Winn and Mon-El) and there will be a funeral. But don’t worry, oddly enough pretty much everyone will be attending this funeral, so … could it be Supergirl’s funeral and the way to end the show, with Kara either power-less or leaving for another place? Also, we might get a wedding in the Finale as well.
With the end of „Supergirl“ Melissa will be done with the Arrowverse for a while, however Chyler will be back in the weeks after on „The Flash“, and we might get to see Kelly and Nia as well the other shows after the Finale has aired.
Batwoman:
Season 3 of „Batwoman“ will start airing on October 13th on The CW, so yes, the show will move to Wednesdays at 9:00 pm.
Ryan, Alice, Luke, Mary and Sophie are all back. The first trailer already dropped and does explain how and why Alice is still on the show. Meanwhile there is no word on Jacob. However Season 3 will add Robin Givens as Jada Jet, Nick Creegan as Marquis Jet and finally (sadly two seasons too late) Renee Montoya played by Victoria Cartagena to the Main Cast. Montoya will be a former Police Officer in this version, continuing the Police and Armed Forces Corruption Trend into Season 3, as she did quit for ehtical reasons. She will now run a „Freak Divsion“ for the Mayor’s Office, and we might even get the Question already. Maybe.
The Jets on the other hand are a rich and powerful family, with mother Jada running Jets Industries. Son Marquis on the other hand will be the typical good-for-nothing playboy at constant war with his mother. Now I will just have to admit that I have stopped watching „Batwoman“ and don’t intend to return to watch it ever again outside of Future Crossover Episodes (maybe), but it looks like the Jada is maybe Ryan‘s birth-mother and that this is the connection of those characters to Ryan. If that isn’t the case … well, then there is another first-born child Jada had to give up and is guilting on about, so … yeah, make of this what you will.
Bigger news are the villains. Every one and their mother did hear about Poisin Ivy showing up this year. Bridget Regan will play her, and she has history with Batman, so she will be Poison Ivy already. Also Mad Hatter will appear this season, and so will Killer Croc it seems. The show may also feature Penguine, but don’t hold your breath for that.
Now, production-wise Season 2 lost it’s final episode. It is unknown if 3.01 will just be that one, or if they like after Season 1 just put it in the trash and completley re-wrote it. Also according the the Director’s Guild Season 3 will wrap in December, which means The CW probably only ordered 13 episodes. Now, they may extend that order to something between 15 and 18 Episodes, but it does seems likely that they are planning to replace „Batwoman“ with either „Superman & Lois“ or „Naomi“ in early 2022, so it might really be a 13 Episodes Season.
However, we will see Ryan Wilder interact with someone else from the Arrowverse this year, but not on „Batwoman“. She will guest star on Season 8 of „The Flash“, meaning that there will probably be a Ryan-less or Ryan-light episode somewhere in the middle of this 13 episodes, so be ready for that.
Legends of Tomorrow:
Legends of Tomorrow will return from their shortest break in-between seasons ever on October 13th and will air on Wednesdays at 8:00 pm.
The first trailer dropped already and confirms what we have been told at ComicCon and seen in the Season 6 Finale: Yes, the Legends (minus Mick and Kayla) are stranded in 1920s with a broken or destroyed Waverider. They have to deal with this, when Season 7 begins.
John Constantine has left the show, but Matt Ryan hasn’t. He will play a new character this season. A scientist called Gwyn Davies, who is probably related to John Constantine and might have something to do with the key John gave to Zari. He will be the only hope for the Legends to ever get out oft he 1920s it seems. The other new-old addition to the main cast will be fleshy Gideon, we learned. Given what happened to the Waverider, it will be interesting to see how this comes about, however the 100th Episode is a good guess to when it will happen.
Now, given that Season 6 just finished airing a few weeks ago, we don’t know much about Season 7. We have the titles of the first six episodes, Episode 3 is the 100th and will be directed by Caity Lotz (funnily enough it’s her third episode as well!), Episode 5 will probably focus on Gwyn Davies, and according to the Director’s Guild „Legends“ is supposed to wrap in December, which means it finally happened - we will get only 13 Episodes this year. However, The CW may extend this order, they have done so several times in the past, and if we are lucky and keep our fingers crossed they may extend their oder to 15 or maybe even 16 episodes again. However just like in the case of „Batwoman“ the show is probably supposed to be replaced by either „Naomi“ or „Superman & Lois“ at the Mid-Season, so it really depends on the 2022 schedule and on how fast the production goes on and on well … the question if this will be the show‘s last season.
But before we deal with that one, let’s deal with the other open questions. We are supposed to see Dom again in Season 7, he and Phil made a handshake deal on that. But will it really happen? I have no idea, because like everyone else, I have no idea what the falling out was actually about (my best guess is that they wanted him for half a season and he was not to pleased with that idea in the middle of a pandemic), but the travelling restrictions are lifted for vaccinated people at least, so if we are lucky this might just work out. However I have no idea when, how often, and in what order his appearances or his appearance will happen. And yes, traditionally it should be the 100th Episode, but I have no idea if there are special guest stars in there. If there are, other than Mick, the best guess to who it might be would be Ray Palmer and John Constantine. Brandon Routh will appear as Ray Palmer in Season 8 of „The Flash“, meaning that he went to Vancouver to shoot stuff, so he could have been there longer already and shot something for the 100th Episode, but the timing does not seem right, we might get to see him in another episode of Season 7 instead or we might not see him at all. As for John, Matt Ryan is still on the show, and yes, the did say time and time again that Constantine’s story on the show is done, but his last scene was very strange and left many unanswered questions, he cleary was from a point in the future and knew about the cliffhangar, plus we never saw him get out of the Fountain, which was kind of strange, so maybe they will actually wrap up his story in Season 7. Now, Matt Ryan did post a picture of Constantine walking away some days after the Finale of Season 6 had aired, but he could have posted this after he had just shot his last appearance as John Constantine. But even if they wrap up these open questions or reveal that the person in that last scene was not John at all and he is actually still dead or something like that, they might not do in the 100th Episode but at a later point. Or they might not do it all. They had two seasons to make Charlie and Amaya meet and did not do it, it is very possible that we actually did saw the last of John in Season 6.
So now to the question we don’t want to think about: Will Season 7 be the final Season? I have said time and time again, that „Legends“ is the one Arrowverse-Show that could go on forever, if they wanted to. The ever-changing cast would make it possible. Even if Caity Lotz were to leave, they could just make another character the new Team Leader, they could even go as far as to make it Nia Nal or Nora West-Allen. However I don’t really think The CW thinks like that. Now, the show is still around because the producers are doing what they can to reduce the cost of it. „Superman & Lois“ is the Arrowverse-Show with the biggest budget, but it get’s money from HBOmax, as does „Batwoman“ or so they say, however „Legends“ does not, and it is show that costs the network the most. The have to recreate several different time periods on a weekly basis and are an ensemble show, do the maths. Also this season will include the 100th episode, and while streaming changed the television landscape up quite a lot in the last couple of years, old pratices are still a factor in the mind of Network Executives, meaning they want 100 Episodes but often don’t really care about the seasons after this point.
However, The CW and Mark Pedowitz really want to do another Crossover, if they can get one. And the Five Episode Event on „The Flash“ won’t really be that. And after „Supergirl“ is finished, „Legends“ and „The Flash“ will be the only Arrowverse-Shows from good old times, whose characters do know and like each other. While everyone knows Superman, they are still keeping this show apart from the rest of the Arrowverse, so I do think that if „The Flash“ gets a 9th Season, they are probably going to give „Legends“ an 8th Season, if Caity Lotz stays on the show and ratings are at the usual level. However I might be wrong there.
But if they are axing the show or ending it, we will probably be informed about it before Season 7 starts airing. If Season 7 is the last one, the writers should know that by now. And I also think that if Season 7 is the last one, they might just add a couple of episodes to it in order to make a Finale.
So yeah, I don’t know, we really have to wait and see, but the show will in any case get a proper ending, that much is for sure.
The Flash:
Covid delays lead to a later than usual start for the shooting of Season 8. So while „Batwoman“ and „Legends of Tomorrow“ have already done around 7 episodes each, „The Flash“ is still on Episode 3, which is why the season will only start airing on November 16th.
The season will start of with „Armageddon“ – a Five Part Special Event, that will involve various guest stars and might or might not be based on the Comic-Event with the same name. „Armageddon“ will feature Ray Palmer (the Atom), Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning), Alex Danvers (Sentinel), Mia Queen (Green Arrow), Eobard Thawne (Reverse-Flash), Damien Darhk, Ryan Choi and Ryan Wilder (Batwoman). Yes, most of those characters are from former shows (even though „Supergirl“ will just end the week before this event starts airing), but the new Batwoman is in it, so it is an actual Crossover with an on-going show. It will be the first time Ryan Wilder gets to interact with any Arrowverse-Characters outside of „Batwoman“. The villain of the piece will be Despero. Tony Curran will play the villain in probably both alien and human form. He might or might not team up with Eobard and Damien Darhk, who by the way was dead and in hell the last time we saw him, which combinded with Mia Smoak here leads into the idea that time travel might play into „Armageddon“, which will feature an Alien Invasion too big for Team Flash to handle alone, which is where all those guest stars come in. „Armageddon“ will also feature Deon Owen, Sue Dearborn and Jay Garrick. And Kristen Kramer, if Eric Wallace is to be believed, because the first few episoded of this season are supposed to explore her powers.
Now, there might be even more guest stars in „Armageddon“, but we can expect those who were announced to be the big ones. Everyone else is probably only doing a couple of scenes or a cameo. However let’s go through a list of likely suspects, who might also show up:
Kelly Olsen is of course the first, who comes to mind, she is only just becoming Guardian on „Supergirl“ now, the actress did stick around in Vancouver, and it would be weird if Alex was in those episodes but Kelly wasn’t. However, given that she was not announced, they either did not do that because they did not want to spoil her Guardian-Storyline (which just started a while after the guest stars were announced) or because she plays only a very small part in the storyline. Or she really is for whatever reason not in it. Next on the list would be Nora Darhk; with both her husband and her father showing up, it would be weird for her not to appear, but other than with Kelly there could be pratical reasons for that, namely Courtney‘s and Brandon’s son Leo. However with no Quarantine for vaccinated travelers from the US anymore, the whole family could have gone to Vancouver for a couple of days or weeks, so maybe she will show up. Then there is John Diggle. David Ramsey is directing Episode 2 of Season 2 of „Superman & Lois“, meaning he is in Vancouver, so in theory he could appear. I am compileing this before his last guest appreance on „Supergirl“ airs, when the whole Green Lantern thing is still up in the air, so maybe we will get Green Lantern-Diggle in „Armageddon“ after all. And then there is of course Superman. „Superman & Lois“ did just start filming Season 2, so the main reason Tyler is not among these guest stars is probably scheduling. However he might be able to film a cameo or even a couple of scenes, so there is hope, just remember that they would have announced it, if he would play a big part in it.
Now Bart and Nora West-Allen are confirmed to be in this season, however it is unknown if they are in „Armageddon“. Scheduling is a conflict there for Jordan Fisher, who has a Broadway Show upcoming soon, so I am not sure when Impulse and XS will show up, however it would be more logical for them to be around at the beginning of the season rather than in the middle or at the end. Also Iris‘ Time-Sickness is not cured and will factor into the season, however Eric Wallace stated this would come into play after „Armageddon“, so maybe her kids will factor into that storyline.
After „Armageddon“ we will return to the Horror-Gerne it seems, with a villain that will make Barrys and Iris‘ life into a living nightmare. Whatever that is supposed to mean. There are guesses around who this villain is, but no one really knows. It also is a problem that Eric Wallace tends to talk very much without saying anything and often misleads people with his discription of up-coming storylines so … I would say think about the Bloodwork-Arc, it might just be something along these lines, or maybe it just is the person, who causes Iris to be time-sick (whatever that actually means) and Westallen will spend most of Season 8 apart again, because this is just the way Wallace writes them in order to keep their relationship interesting.
There will also be a storyline for Frost and Caitlin, that was supposed to be in Season 7, and maybe if we are very lucky that will finally be the one about their Mother and her Ice Powers. Joe will also get a storyline, which … I have no idea … might continue his strange Season 7 Storyline about being or not being a cop. Or he might just marry Cecile and that’s it, like I said Wallace ha a strange way of teasing upcoming storylines.
As for the Ralph-Question, no news there, as for the „Will we see Cisco this season?“-Question, also no news. Now, Rick Cosnett said something about returning to „The Flash“, however he might not have meant Season 8, if the season is not the last one, he might have referred to the same storyline Tom Cavanagh talked about a while back - the Final Storyline. And yes, there was talk about the return of Zoom, but this was more an actor wanting to return to a show than anything planned, so don’t expect him to show up anytime soon either. As for Bloodwork and Goodspeed, I have no idea if and when their storylines are going to be resolved, but the chances for Goodspeed are slighty better, I think.
Now, finally: Will Season 8 be the Last Season of „The Flash“? That really is up to Grant Gustin and what he signed on for when he signed up for Season 8. Despite Season 7 The CW still wants the show as long as possible around. If Grant sigend up for Season 8 and 9, there will be a Season 9. If he only signed up for Season 8, it depends on a decision he should be making soon. In any case, if Season 8 is the last Season, we will learn that before it starts airing aka in the next couple of months. And they will know long enough beforehand to do their planned Final Storyline.
Given they only began filming in late August and that they are taking their time with the Event, Season 8 will be shorter again. It will probably be around 18 Episodes, maybe if we are lucky, they will get to do 20, but a full 22 Episode Season is rather unlikely to happen.
Superman & Lois:
„Superman & Lois“ will return in 2022. The Second Season will feature Natalie Irons played by Taylor Buck as a member of the Main Cast. Sofia Hasmik was also promoted to the Main Cast. Tal-Rho will still be part of the show, however I am not too sure about him still being part of the Main Cast in Season 2. However both he and Leslie Larr will figure into the season.
The main villain won’t be Kryptonian this year. We will learn Tegan Wickhem’s backround (and which Flash Villain she is related to, I hope), Jordan will have to decide if he tells Sarah about his secret or not, and might not agree with his parent on that matter. John Henry will get to parent again, while Intergang and Killgrave will get new allies.
David Ramsey will be directing Episode 2 of this season, but this does not mean that John Diggle will return to the show. Given that this is „Superman & Lois“, even if he is going to guest-star this season, he won’t do that in Episode 2, but rather a couple of episodes later, when he is finished with the directorial stuff.
The Director’s Guilt Date does indicated that Season 2 is aiming for 13-16 Episode Season again. The only just started filming and plan to wrap in April, and there will be a Christmas Break, and thanks to Covid most seasons will be shorter this year again anyways. The CW might of course extend their Episode Order again, but keep in mind that if they do that, they have the problem of having to start shooting Season 3 later again, so the show might settle for 15 Episode Seasons as their normal lenght in the end.
And while it is not confirmed that there will be a third season, it is very likely that the network will order one.
They are probably planning to have „Superman & Lois“ replace „Batwoman“ or „Legends“ in early 2022, but it will be months before we will know the exact start-date.
There will be a panel at DC-Fandome, hopefully we will get some sort of trailer with footage from the first couple of episodes and some information what the season is actually going to be about then, but for now this is sadly all we know about Season 2.
I am still not covering „Stargirl“ as it hasn’t crossed over with the Arrowverse yet and I am alos not doing „Naomi“ because it won’t be an Arrowverse-Show. So that was it for this one.

Latin Inscription for the Foundation-Stone of Christ’s College in Van Diemen’s Land
Following this brilliant post by @indifferent-century, I was inspired to translate the entirety of the Latin inscription of the Foundation-Stone of Christ’s College in Van Diemen’s Land, November 7th, 1840, as written by – perhaps – Sir John Franklin’s future son-in-law, John Philip Gell, who was appointed as head of the College. Join me for some Janky-Franky shenanigans, this time in Latin!
First of all, here’s a full translation (rearranged to preserve our English word order, generally, rather than the original Latinate style.)
Sir John Franklin, KCH, FLS, FRGS, Governor of the Island of Tasmania, Dedicated to Christ This House of All Humanities and Sciences, and Ordered that It Be Made, according to the Judgement of the Council and from the Funds of the Colony, and Placed this Auspicious Stone in the Fourth Year of the Reign of Queen Victoria, on the seventh day before the Ides of November, 1840.
Respected men from each of the two councils took part: Sir William Henry Elliott, Military Commander; Sir John Lewes Pedder, Chief Justice; William Hutchins, M.A., Archdeacon; Matthew Forster, Colonial Secretary; Adam Turnbull, Colonial Treasurer; Josiah Spode, Chief Police Magistrate; Edward Macdowell, Attorney-General; George Thomas William Blaney Boyes, Accountant; George Henry Barnes, Collector of Customs; Thomas Anstey; Thomas Archer; Charles Swanston; Charles Maclachlan; William Effingham Lawrence; William Page Ashburner; Michael Fenton; with John Philip Gell, M.A., having been placed in charge of educating the youth, and with Alexander Cheyne as the Curator of Public Works.
James Clark Ross and That Companion of His, Francis Crozier, While They Were Preparing to Bring Powerful Science and the Immortal Name of the English People through the Unknown Things of the Northern Ocean, Took Part in this Endeavor under Favorable Auspices and with Enthusiasm.
Next, the original text: this Latin wording comes mainly from this typeset transcription, with some emendations from the handwritten notes of Eleanor Franklin, which you can read here. (Both of these sources were found and linked originally by @indifferent-century – thank you!)
Christo Dicatam Hanc Omnis Humanitatis et Scientiæ Domum Johannes Franklin (1) Eq. PH., (2) Eq. R., (3) LL.D. (4) R.S.S. (5) Insulæ Tasmaniensis (6) Præses [e] Consilii Sententia (7) Impensis Coloniæ (8) Fieri Jussit Lapidem Auspicalem Posuit Anno Victoriæ Quarto vii Id. Nov. MDCCCXL. (9)
Interfuere Viri (10) Spectatissimi Ex Utroque Consilio (11) Gulielmus Henricus Elliott Eq. H. Milit. Præfect. (12) Johannes Lewes Pedder Eq. Aur. Justiciarius Principalis (13) Gulielmus Hutchins M.A. Archidiaconus Matthias Forster Secretarius (14) Adam Turnbull Thesaurarius (14) Josias Spode Irenarches (14) Edvardus Macdowell Procurator Regius (14) Georgius Thomas Gulielmus Blaney Boyes Rationalis (14) Georgius Henricus Barnes Portitoriis Conquirendis Præpositus (14) Thomas Anstey Thomas Archer Carolus Swanston Carolus Maclachlan Gulielmus Effingham Lawrence Gulielmus Page Ashburner Michael Fenton Juventuti Educandæ Præposito Johanne Philippo Gell M.A. Operum Publicorum Curatore Alexandro Cheyne
Jacobus Clark Ross Et Huic Comes Franciscus Crozier Per Ignota Septentrionalis Oceani [Scientiam Efficacem] Anglorum Perenne Nomen Laturi Incepto Bene Auspicato Lubenter Interfuere (15)
And last, as per the previous discussions on this inscription, I also have footnotes.
(1) Yes, "Johannes Franklin” is our Sir John. Yes, this would be a reasonable, etymologically valid version of his name (or his first name, at least) in Latin. Yes, it’s uncomfy. So is “Franciscus Crozier.” As @catilinas said, “utterly terrible.”
(2) Amazingly, the translator (or author-translator) of this inscription has rendered Sir John’s post-nominal letters (indicating his knighthood, and membership in certain societies) into Latin and then abbreviated them back to letters. This cluster, “Eq. PH.,” equates to the English ‘KCH’ or Knight Commander of the Royal Guelphic Order of the House of Hanover, and should probably be lengthened to something like Eq[ues] P[raefectus] H[anoverianus] meaning “Hanoverian Knight Commander.”
(3) Our next letter-cluster is “Eq. R.,” which I’m finding terribly confusing. “Eq.” should, in theory, correspond to another knighthood – it lengthens to “eques,” which is classical Latin for “knight,” a middling elite honorary position, but I don’t know about the “R.” It does seem that Franklin was knighted by King George IV in 1829 before he was made a Knight Commander of the Royal Guelphic Order in 1836, so perhaps we should read this as something like Eq[ues] R[egalis] / R[egius] meaning “Royal Knight” or thereabouts?
(4) Now we’re back to normal post-nominal honors – “LL.D” must correspond to Franklin’s membership in the Linnean Society, normally indicated by the letters “FLS,” or “Fellow of the Linnean Society.” I’m not entirely sure how we get from FLS to LLD, but perhaps LL[inneaniorum] D[ominus] meaning something like or “Master of the Linneans.” (Note that a doubled letter can be used as an abbreviation for a Latin plural genitive like “Linneaniorum,” as one can see in the Latin terminology for Bachelor of Laws, i.e. “Legum Baccalaureus,” or LL.B.)
(5) Similarly, I’m willing to bet that R.S.S. corresponds to Franklin’s other common post-nominal honor, his membership in the Royal Geographical Society, typically abbreviated as FRGS. One might try to expand “R.S.S.” to R[egalis] S[axiologorum] S[ocietas] meaning “Royal Society of Stone-studiers,” perhaps. I really, really wish I knew who translated these abbreviations and what their thought-process was.
(6) Watch Lady Jane sneak in her new name for Van Diemen’s Land here! (For the uninitiated: Lady Jane and James Clark Ross collaborated to have Van Diemen’s Land renamed – or at least re-popularized – as “Tasmania.”)
(7) Fun facts: I can 100% prove that Eleanor Franklin knew some Latin! In her transcription of this text, she places a macron (a little ^ hat) over the final ‘a’ like this: “sententiâ,” which means that she correctly identified that this word (meaning “judgement,” or “opinion”) is in the ablative case, rather than the nominative case. No macron would have appeared in the inscription; it would have been highly unusual for any inscription in Latin from any time period to have a macron, so this is all Eleanor’s doing, but she’s right to do it. Eleanor also adds that slightly unnecessary but not incorrect “e” (meaning “from, out of”) before the word “Consilii” in her transcription.
(8) It’s a little weird to point out that Sir John didn’t directly fund the construction of Christ’s College but rather arranged for the funding to come from the income of the colony itself. This would look really out of place in a commemorative inscription from the classical period.
(9) This date does in fact convert to November 7th, 1840, but it’s not as simple as the Roman numerals VII (=7) make it look. To get this date, we actually have to count backwards from the Ides of November, which fall on November 13th, but the Romans count inclusively, so thirteen less seven actually equals seven, rather than six. I know. I hate math too.
(10) Eleanor Franklin writes this word (“viri”) twice, once at the end of one line, and again at the beginning of the next. As for the translation of this word as “men,” yes, it’s exclusively male-gendered in the Latin.
(11) I think “from each of the two councils” refers to the Legislative Council and the Executive Council, the two governing bodies of Van Diemen’s Land before the establishment of the Tasmanian House of Assembly in 1856. Take that with a BIG grain of salt. It’s also particularly interesting to note that many of the men here named became embroiled in the huge political mess that resulted in the ignominious end of Sir John’s term as governor – this list represents both the pro-Franklin and anti-Franklin sides of the conflict.
(12) The title “Milit. Præfect.” or (something like) Milit[aris] Præfect[us] reflects Sir William Henry Elliott’s military role as the Lieutenant-Colonel of Van Diemen’s Land, while “Eq. H.” is most probably Eq[ues] H[anoverianus] or a way of denoting Elliot’s knighthood in the same Hanoverian order as Sir John, though in a different capacity – Knight / KH to Sir John’s Knight Commander / KCH.
(13) The title “Justiciarius Principalis” is a clear Latin translation of Johannes Lewes Pedder’s legal role the first Chief Justice of Van Diemen’s Land, and “Eq. Aur.” seems to allude to a knighthood conferred via the Commonwealth nation of Australia, perhaps?
(14) Some of these titles are deeply weird ways of rendering colonial government positions into Latin: “Portitoriis Conquirendis Præpositus” for “Customs Collector” is A Lot – the literal translation would be something like “President for the Things Connected with Import or Export Dues that Must be Collected.” Confession: I took most of the English titles directly from the relevant entries in the Australian Dictionary of Biography, all of which are linked above, in the translation.
(15) For more on this Ross & Crozier section, see this post. Also, note the major stylistic change in these last four verses: lots of intertextual references, and more poetic language – much of it Augustan (aka mainly from Ovid and Vergil) as @kaserl pointed out! It’s a conspiracy theory, but I think we may be looking at a different author altogether: Lady Jane prefiguring her role as ghost-writer of “Thy bees are frozen, and thy crook’s a name,” we might imagine?
Thank you for joining me on this very weird Victorian neo-Latin journey!

the 100 diaries S3 E3
quarantine diaries: june 25 2020
season 3 episode 3: “Ye Who Enter Here”
based on this title imma just assume that this episode is gonna be hell aka Dante’s inferno
this dynamic between lexa and clarke is very beauty and the beast vibez with how clarke is give lexa ‘i wont see you’
“I can do both (hate lexa and herself) ” clarke said. We love a multi-tasker
“I want your people to become my people” ..”join me” Is lexa proposing a political marriage with clarke????
wow clarke used bellamy’s “kill me” line
clarke also said “Go float yourself”....let these kids say FUCK
Ice queen!! love matriarchy!
Yesssss Lexa you kick that guy off the ledge. this is what i like to see but also that could have really killed one of your people down below
chill kane its just a med kit. but also watch they need a med kit but kane is like noooo
i still dont like this relationship between bellamy and this girl bc who is she?? the writers really didnt put any effort into making me like her. Did you tell her how you injured your leg bellamy? Did you tell her that you got it trying to save clarke??
“There was no room at the inn” did pike just quote the Bible??
but also this reminded me of this office scene
look at the prince his fancy new clothes. lol when hes said “what you really want” my mind immediately when to spice girls
Humpy dumpy sat on a wall. side note How did bellamy sense that Octavia was sitting up there like people dont naturally turn back toward the door they just went threw but i guess bellamy can just sense octavia’s vibez
aww look at bellamy being a supportive brother to octavia
Echo???? damn is my bellamy and echo ship still on??
Who is this assassin?? Highkey dramatic with that unwrapping of his weapons.
waht? Raven can crack the code now? since when? since fucking when?
Ugh again with this girl. its not like i dont ship her and bellamy cuz it looks like she makes bellamy happy but wtf the writers didnt build up the relationship at all so it just feels false to me
While on the topic of boos what ever happened to millers boyfriend?? Like they talked about it and now...what where is he?
i find it kinda funny how this grounder assassin has like primal weapons but has this kinda modern, cheap ass watch that you can buy at target or one that you would get at mcdonald’s. it could have been such a meme if the assassin pulled out this relic instead
lowkey this grounder marketplace looks like star wars land in disneyland
Free food?! and kane gives her a patch but what good is that patch??
“Its up to the people.” we love a democracy except when majority of the population are idiots aka everyone on the ark
"aden is ready” so like do these people just base the next leader’s readiness to rule on if they’re good enough fighters?? I guess that makes sense considering how majority of the population seem to be warriors. Lexa also mentioned something about a conclave..wtf is a conclave?
look at lexa defending clarke against this baldy. damn she’s simping hard for clarke and its so obvious and yet baldy just suggested that she kill clarke.
also i cant help but laugh at the fact that when people finally meet wannheda they just see clarke. and ok sure she may do some badass stuff but come on dont tell me she doesnt look like a cinnamon roll
wait so what does bellamy’s girlfriend actually do? like is she an engineer or what??
yikes more neck deaths
“I’m not leaving my blade” neither would i octavia. also im curious on whether the grounders added the drawing of the gun when the space people came down with their guns because it seems like the space people are the only ones with guns that they would interact with (bc of the grounder lore surrounding guns and that they didnt seem buddy buddy with the mountain men)
ok clarke you pull that knife on lexa. but look at the intense eye contact damn. also that was such a dramatic knife drop. i gotta say that the background music during this was definitely a choice
also clarke can you please remove these ugly ass red hair extensions?
13th clan. huh? i dont like this. mostly because i dont like the world building and i just prefer bellamy and the rest of the spacers doing ‘whatever the hell they want’
ngl i thought that singer was clarke for a second. And i was like woah clarke can really sing?! but atlas it wasnt her. you know this made me think of all the other shows where they have that one musical episode...oh god i hope they do a musical scene later in the show. i would die happy. also did lexa really just hire a singer for this event??
How long is this assassin prepping like he’s been doing this seen the beginning of the episode?? who is his father, mother, brother, kin??
“how many floors”..”All of them” bitch if this mission were up to me everyone would be dead. but luckily its up to bellamy who always come thru
“Bear our mark.” when abby told kane that he should be chancellor it was more like i dont want to be marked so you should do it. jk also that’s not an honor that is a branding. and dont hate me but MARK-us because marcus kane. lol i dont care if you hate me that joke was for me.
Yes bellamy you crash whatever this event is but also how the hell did climb up so fast!
Are you kidding me echo? that two timing bitch ugh just when i rooting for her and bellamy she pulls this shit.
the assassin is at Mount weather?! ugh.
aww look at sinclair giving raven a pep talk
Oooo i called it Gina is dead. but the assassin really when for the abomin and not the neck..interesting choice. Why is this this assassin so much smarter than gina like he knew about that secret compartment and he had the codes also he got a tattoo with the codes. That’s some commitment!
you go sinclair. aww poor raven wabbling as fast as she can with that leg brace.this assassin must not be that good of an assassin if Sinclair can fight him off
Ofc they destroy mount weather. raven and sinclair were yeeted in that explosion
That stare that bellamy gave to Lexa and then that look between bellamy and clarke. ooo the tension is real
Also does bellamy know that this girlfriend just died or??? but i guess thats something that shouldnt be found out via radio
Who did Clarke’s makeup and hair or did she do it herself?? cuz it was definitely a bold choice. also the following image is not to mock clarke its just the most curse makeup image that ive seen and i love to share it with others
lexa bowing down to clarke...ship???
Is that Emerson??! bitch

Dusted Mid-Year Exchange, Part 2: Positive No to Yves Tumour
Six Organs got a lot of mid-year love this time
Welcome back to part two of the Dusted Mid-Year Exchange, in which we tackle the second half of the alphabet. If you missed part one, with its lengthy description of what we’re doing here, you can read it here. Or just muddle through. Cheers.
Positive No — Kyanite (Little Black Cloud)
Kyanite by Positive No
Who recommended it? Tobias Carroll
Did we review it? No.
Tim Clarke’s take:
Positive No braid tight bursts of guitars, bass and drums into upbeat yet agitated shapes. There’s a touch of Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino in Tracy Wilson’s vocal delivery, or My Bloody Valentine’s Belinda Butcher, especially on expansive opener “Elevator Up.” At just under half an hour, the urgent economy of Kyanite’s songwriting makes all the more sense when you learn that it’s the band’s final album, released on Valentine’s Day this year. As their parting gesture, nothing is wasted, everything invested. As one of the song titles says, “Get In, Get Out. Don’t Linger. Go On.”
Raspberry Bulbs — Before the Age of Mirrors
Before The Age Of Mirrors by Raspberry Bulbs
Who picked it? Jonathan Shaw
Did we review it? Yes, Jonathan said, “Even in its heaviest metal moments, on ‘Reclaimed Church’ and excellent closing track ‘Given Over to History,’ the record’s punk vibe cuts and grins. It insists on a deadly aesthetic seriousness, and at the same time, it’s tugging the rug out from under its own feet.”
Jennifer Kelly’s take:
Raspberry Bulbs splices punk’s antic venom with metal’s storm and roar, shifting from one mode to the other inside individual tracks, sometimes measure to measure. Consider “Doggerel” which kicks off in a pogo-ing furor, rattling violently over rapid oi band rhythms, everything clipped and percussive, even the vocals, though hoarse and splintered. Midway through, a sirening guitar riff intercedes and the singing turns ominous and measured; all the sudden it’s metal. “Midnight Line” pulls the opposite trick, beginning in clanging, feedback-morphing guitar and larynx shredding howl, then introducing a punk rock palm-muted chug and anthemry. It’s a volatile mix, at times nearly playful, at others agonizingly heavy, at still others (the “Intervals” mostly) surprisingly lyrical. I lean towards the punk-er tracks—"They’re After Me” and “Doggerel”— metal fans may feel otherwise.
Stephen Riley — Friday the 13th (Steeplechase)
Who recommended it? Derek Taylor
Did we review it? Yes. Derek said, “Knuffke and Riley are a directly collaborative pairing now and their partnership politely demands many more dates like this one.”
Justin Cober-Lake's take:
Saxophonist Stephen Riley has put together a quartet with a singular idea of playing these classic tunes on Friday the 13th in relatively straightforward and spacious renditions. Their take on Eddie Vinson's “Four” has Riley and cornetist Kirk Knuffke trading long solos. The rhythm section does its job, but it's a horn players' record. The album comes alive most when Knuffke and Riley interact more immediately. On Oliver Nelson's “Hoe Down,” they reveal how great a partnership they have, initially matching each other on the main melody before spiraling off. “Round Midnight” could have been too obvious a choice, but the combo's personalized take on the standard works out. Everyone sounds at ease enough within the song that they take a few more risks, and the horn players supplement each other nicely with more harmonic considerations. The album ends with a trio of spirited numbers, and in each case Riley and Knuffke play off each other's solos with a sharpness that by now makes sense. Riley's listening to Monk and playing like Rollins (hence the title track) as he and his group find ways to make old bop sound new.
Gil Scott-Heron and Makaya McCraven—We’re New Again, A Reimagining (XL Recordings)
youtube
Who recommended it? Jenny Kelly.
Did we review it? Yes. Arthur Krumins notes, “McCraven lays down a lush musical backdrop that allows Scott-Heron’s words to have emotional impact.”
Jonathan Shaw’s take:
The word “reimagine” has a sexy resonance, and for that reason, it’s often too casually used. But in the case of We’re New Again, the word is warranted. Drummer and producer Makaya McCraven doesn’t just remix Gil Scott-Heron’s final record, I’m New Here (2010); McCraven shuffles the track list, adds some relevant recordings of Scott-Heron’s voice, and creates entirely new arrangements, moods, and musical accompaniment for the earlier album’s songs. It’s ballsy — I’m New Here is justly recognized as a masterpiece, and it’s marked by a stylistic austerity. On that record, Scott-Heron sang and spoke and recited his poetry over minimalist beats, a strummed guitar, or his own piano playing. McCraven attentively reimagines the tunes, working with polyphonic, post-Bop ensembles; busy hip-hop soundscapes; gospel and funk quotations. Remarkably, none of the richness of Scott-Heron’s vocals and none of the complexity of his poetry get obscured. More often, McCraven inventively intensifies the impact of Scott-Heron’s songs. And the reordering and recontextualizing of the tracks reveals a different narrative, grounded in the resilience and the suffering of Scott-Heron’s upbringing and too-short life. You listen and you feel it. It’s a terrific record.
Six Organs of Admittance — Companion Rises (Drag City)
Companion Rises by Six Organs of Admittance
Who recommended it? Jennifer Kelly
Did we review it? Yes. Jenny said it’s “straight-down-the-middle Six Organs, not as loud and abrasive as the first Hexadic disc, not as reticently wisp-y as the older folk-derived records.”
Patrick Masterson’s take:
Back when Dusted was still a dot-com, we talked about making a site-specific canon for our 10th anniversary, a kind of “Dusted 500” field guide. There was a shared spreadsheet and talk of a benefit show and a mixtape comp and so on that never amounted to anything for myriad reasons, but I can promise you Ben Chasny would’ve figured into it somehow — and nearly a decade on from that, my promise stands. The latest (30th? Let’s call it 30th) Six Organs of Admittance record is a beautiful slow burner that shows why, all astral spirits and slow-rolling starlight guitar plucks that is, as Jenny rightly notes, a Six Organs line drive. My belief after numerous spins since early February — mostly in the mornings, for which this music also seems suitable accompaniment — is that, like the rest of Chasny’s oeuvre, it will appeal to anyone who likes guitars or reads this. On the off chance you stumbled in here or haven’t heard this record yet: Welcome. It’s always been this way.

Spanish Love Songs — Brave Faces Everyone (Pure Noise)
Brave Faces Everyone by Spanish Love Songs
Who recommended it? Ian Mathers
Did we review it? Yes. Ian said, “it’s more a record of solidarity and mutual support than it is anything more prescriptive.”
Patrick Masterson’s take:
L.A. quintet Spanish Love Songs occupy a very specific point on what I like to think of as the Bar Band Spectrum, where one end is a bottom-rung covers-only collective found in just about any weeknight dive pre-COVID playing for beer money out of boredom and modest ambition… and the other end is Bruce Springsteen. This band isn’t as ramshackle as, say, Ladyhawk, nor have they yet hit a glass ceiling à la the Constantines; they sound to me more like Beach Fossils or Single Mothers, where everything from their songwriting to their slightly glossy production suggests they’re as ready as they’ll ever be for arena life. And what a record to make the case, too: Brave Faces Everyone is the sound of Run for Covers Records growing up or early onset Gen Z realizing a glass of wine after everything is, in fact, a coping mechanism for adulthood in a profoundly uncaring world. It’s got a big, young heart to match its big, old sound. It says, loudly, that in the increasingly untethered reality of 2020, we are all losers forever — but there’s still a “best of it” to be made if you wanna and the bravest face is an optimistic one. I’ll rock with that (from the quarantined confines of home and the other side of another lousy livestream, of course).

Squirrel Flower — I Was Born Swimming (Polyvinyl)
I Was Born Swimming by Squirrel Flower
Who picked it? Patrick Masterson
Did we review it? Nope.
Arthur Krumins’ take:
Making the most of a dour mood, Squirrel Flower squeezes disaffection from her vocal delivery. The instrumentation is reminiscent of a less noisy Built to Spill, or maybe Julie Doiron, and is effectively now a retro indie rock sound originally from the late 90s or early 2000s. The jamminess of some of the drawn out riffs feel both pretty and sad, and could be a good soundtrack to a rainy drive. The heaviness is well developed without being bogged down. The lyrics catch your attention with their plainspoken narration of conflict (“You slap me, I’ll slap you right back” she repeats in “Slapback”). A fitting album for looking your troubles head on while still being totally surrounded by them.
Waterless Hills — The Great Mountain (Cardinal Fuzz)
Waterless Hills - 'The Great Mountain' by Waterless Hills
Who picked it? Bill Meyer
Did we review it? No.
Arthur Krumins’ take:
A dissonant flow that steadily increases in intensity starts this record, which is a live recorded improvisation. The combination of aching, modal violin by dbh with slightly overdriven cascading electric guitar by C Joynes makes for a feel reminiscent of “Venus in Furs” by the Velvet Underground. The percussion by Andrew Cheetham, a drum kit plug some extras like a hung Chinese gong, creates texture and mood. Sometimes there’s just a steady counting of time in the background, at other moments waves of cymbals crash and make a cacophonous emphasis as the music rises and falls. The overall effect of the jams is hypnotic, like getting absorbed in a swirling light show. The players’ sensitivity to the musical interplay of their instruments, combined with a masterful looseness, makes it a trip worth taking.
Well Yells — We Mirror the Dead (Self-released)
youtube
Who recommended it? Ian Mathers.
Did we review it? Yes. Ian Mathers notes, “tipping towards the slightly industrial/EBM side of the genre, We Mirror the Dead gains a kind of gloomy propulsion without losing any of the atmosphere or intensity of [the band’s] prior work.”
Jonathan Shaw’s take:
The Gothic is not famous for stylistic restraint, and neither are the various contemporary subgenres that have inherited goth music’s romance of dark interiors, painfully fraught feeling and highly stylized self-fashioning. A few recent acts have cut against the grain of those established maximalist textures: see the grim industrial rancor of Street Sects, and the more experimental, sample-based austerities of Wreck and Reference. Well Yells’ music feels similarly stripped down to a pulsing electronic essence. But the record is more interested in the strobing spaces of Clubland than in decrepit factory ruins, and the darkwave gloss of We Mirror the Dead presents a more conventional relation to goth’s sensations. At its best—as on album opener “Kill the King”—the music of Patrick Holbrook, sole member of Well Yells, snaps and glimmers with compelling dread and arch sophistication. Holbrook’s breathy tenor is a useful counterpoint; his vocals are vaguely reminiscent of the best of those other habitués of Clubland, the British New Romantics (remember Bronski Beat?). It’s good stuff, somehow simultaneously polished and dirty.
Lucinda Williams—Good Souls Better Angels (Thirty Tigers/Highway 20 Records)
youtube
Who recommended it? Justin Cober-Lake
Did we review it? No.
Bill Meyer’s take: I haven’t listened much to Lucinda Williams; the one record I have by her, Sweet Old World, is 28 years old. The first thing that hit me when I listened to Good Souls Better Angels is what’s changed. Williams’ voice is much rougher, and she’s adjusted the music correspondingly, adding Hendrixian guitar flourishes to “Bone of Contention” and coarsening the domestic violence scenario “Wakin’ Up” with bad-trip electronics. The next is how pissed she sounds. Violent boyfriends are bad enough, but having a charmless sociopath for president is even worse. Fortunately, bile hasn’t overwhelmed her writing chops. Big-sounding roots rock isn’t really my thing these days, but if I feel the need to change that, Good Souls Better Angels is a good place to start.
Wire — Mind Hive (Pink Flag)
youtube
Who picked it? Andrew Forell
Did we review it? Yes, Andrew said, “Mind Hive is concise yet full of restless intelligence, musical ideas and willingness to push boundaries.”
Derek Taylor’s take:
I tapped Wire late and left early. That truncated exposure lends a narrow vocabulary in describing their music contextually, pre- and post-reunions. This latest missive sounds alternately like what I remember and at least several zip codes removed with a heavy lean into synths. “Be Like Them” and “Primed and Ready” fall in the former category, while “Off the Beach” trades gangly ennui and menace for what almost resembles instrumental optimism until the lyrics stack dutifully into another ode to the disaffected and disconnected. “Oklahoma” feels inscrutably weird. “Hung” drops as the album’s extended, incremental, post-industrial dirge. There’s additional insulation sheathing this Wire, an inevitable adjunct of ascendancy to elder status, but the current foursome is still dependably conducting current.
Yves Tumour — Heaven to a Tortured Mind (Warp)
youtube
Who recommend it? Patrick Masterson
Did we review it? No.
Ian Mathers’ take:
Listen to music for long enough and you might realize that most of the time when you hope any artist goes in any particular direction with their work, you’re bound to be disappointed. But every so often, maybe after a promising album that you just didn’t fully click with, an artist does exactly what you were hoping for and fully manifests all the potential promise you thought you glimpsed. Yves Tumor’s 2018 album Safe in the Hands of Love was admirable in many ways, but it was really only on crucial single “Noid” that all the combustible elements were really brought together into something that properly bangs. Well, Heaven to a Tortured Mind might not have as many showcases for the ambient/noise chops that Tumor definitely has, but it does consistently bang for 36 minutes of should-be alternate universe pop hits, from the brassy “Gospel for a New Century” to the floaty duet “Kerosene!” For anyone who loved “Noid” and then found more to respect than the viscerally love on Tumor’s last record, this is the record you were waiting for, and it is magnificent and ferocious.

Down Below (Chapter 42)
Summary: Y/N Reyes lands on Earth with the rest of the 99 prisoners. Being one of the first people to come back “home” after 97 years of living in space, she learns what it’s like to finally live in this planet.
Pairing: Bellamy Blake x reader, Raven Reyes x sister! reader
Word Count: 1714 words
Warning: mention of sex, swearing

Bellamy sat on my bed as I closed the door to my room. I figured that it’d be better if we came to a quiet space for us to talk.
‘How was Farm Station?’ Maybe taking the conversation slow and easing up to the topic later would’ve been more effective, I thought.
'Luckily I had the seal to prove to Ice Nation that we were the 13th clan. They let us through but they took the people from Farm Station hostage and used them as slaves.’
'That’s horrible. What happened to them afterwards?’
Bellamy looked down with disappointment, 'We brought them back safely but the hydro generator is gone. That was the only way to take them out.’
'Good, good. You got our people back that’s great. Why do you sound so upset?’
'That was our only source of water once the radiation comes and now I feel like a bad guy I just-’ He paused and clenched his fist. 'I don’t know what I’m doing.’
I sat next to him on the bed, 'You’re not a bad guy. You were jus-’
'Its not just that.’ Bellamy looked at me, 'I was angry about Jasper too. I was jealous about you guys’ relationship and I had no right to be.’
My eyebrows raised, surprised to hear Bellamy’s reason to being upset this whole time. 'It’s okay. Those feelings doesn’t make you a bad guy either.’
'It makes me feel like I am. It’s not fair especially after the whole… Raven thing. You never brought it up with me and I just thought it’d be wrong to bring Jasper up too.’
'Bellamy, I would never be angry with you for talking about how you feel. The whole Raven situation does sometimes cross my mind but I trust you now. It’s different.’ Placing my hand on his lap, I tried to comfort him. 'Do you trust me?’
He smiled with his sincere eyes, 'Of course I do but it’s not that.’
'So what is it?’
Quickly shifting his eye contact with me, he stared down on the floor. 'I was jealous because of the things you did with him that we haven’t done… if you know what I mean.’
'Oh.’ I mumbled as he mentioned the sexual relationship I had with Jasper. I never thought about the situation I was with him and I felt bad that Bellamy had to hide his feelings for it this whole time.
'Yeah..’ Bellamy said, smiling nervously as he was embarrassed of the situation. 'I was never bothered by it honestly until you started to mention Jasper again and I couldn’t help but think…’
'It’s okay, I understand.’ I scooted closer to him for reassure him. 'I’m sorry I never noticed.’
He quickly sat up and stared at the ground. 'It’s not your fault. I’m sorry I was being a dick to you.’
I reached for his hand and gripped it tightly, trying to get his attention. As he finally made eye contact with me, I leaned in to kiss him.
Bellamy grabbed my cheeks and slowly kisses back as I lightly push him to lay him on the bed.
He pulled away from the kiss, 'No, we can’t do this.’
Embarrassed, I sat up and scratched my head. 'Oh, I thought this is what you wanted. I-I’m sorry.’
'No, don’t be.’ Bellamy got up and held my hand. 'Y/N, I just want it to be special. Not do it because I said what I said.’
I nodded and lightly smiled, happy that Bellamy wanted to share a special moment with me. 'Okay.’
He gave me a peck on my forehead, 'Thank you for understanding me and being here for me.’
'Of course I’ll be here for you. I’m glad you were honest with me.’
✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤
Tossing and turning on the bed, I slowly wake up to Bellamy’s light snore. I smile to myself, watching him sleep peacefully while playing with his soft, fluffy hair.
'You’re up early.’ Bellamy mumbled with his eyes still closed.
'Uhm, yeah. Just had a lot on my mind.’
'Like what?’
Clarke finally gave the speech to the rest of our people about radiation; Except she didn’t tell them the whole truth. She left out the part that not everyone can fit into Alpha Station or the fact that we still don’t have source of water and food.
'We don’t have a solution when Praimfaya comes.’
Bellamy turned towards me and looked me in my eyes, 'Actually, we kind of do.’
'What is it?’
'She’s making a list for a hundred people who can stay on the ship.’ Bellamy noticed my facial expression change, 'Don’t worry. You’re going to be on the list, Reyes.’
'That’s not the point.’ I wasn’t upset about the fact that I may or may not die from the radiation. 'Clarke doesn’t have the right to choose everyone’s fate.’
He nodded, acknowledging what I was saying. 'I get that but-’
'But what? People should have a choice to live or to die. Do you really agree with Clarke about keeping this from everyone?’
Bellamy sighed, lost for words. 'I-I don’t know.’
'Don’t know why I asked.’ I got up and grabbed my pants. 'You guys kept the whole list idea from me.’
'Hey, hey.’ He got up with me, grabbed my arm to calm me down. 'I don’t want to fight anymore.’
'We’re not fighting. I’m just disappointed.’
He pulled me in for a hug, 'We’ll find a way through Praimfaya. You said it yourself, we always find a way.’
The door bursted open, revealing Raven with panic all over her face. 'Bellamy, have you see-. Oh.’
Watching Raven smirk at us while we pull away, I scratched my head. 'You were looking for me?’
'Yeah. Both of you, actually.’ She grinned, 'We’re having a meeting so I was gonna say come in five minutes but seems like you guys need more time.’
Raven’s sarcastic remark got my eyes widened, 'Dude, he’s right here you know.’
Bellamy chuckled, 'We’ll be there in five.’
✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤
'Luna came by with others and she was sick.’ Raven explained that they’ve already been suffering from Radiation disease, which could of possibly came from the fish they ate. 'Abby’s taking care of them right now.’
'Abby’s back?’ I questioned as I thought about Marcus and Octavia.
Raven nodded for response then started typing on her computer. 'The radiation is already here so I did some calculations again. Praimfaya isn’t coming in six months, it’s actually two months. You need to make that list.’
Clarke looked over at me with a surprised face. Bellamy sighed, 'I already told her.’
'If you’re scared of people’s reactions, why are you leading us anyway?’ I laughed lightly out of frustration, 'You’re lucky I’m not crazy but if someone else finds this list, you’re in big trouble.’
She stayed silent, 'You have nothing to say now?’
Raven grabbed my hand and squeezed it, 'Y/N, calm down, it’s okay. We have a bigger problem anyways.’
'She’s right. Jaha apparently found a bunker that was used during Praimfaya years ago.’ Bellamy said while rubbing my back.
'You’re going to believe Jaha after he tried to get us all killed with the damn chip?’ Raven argued.
'We don’t have a choice right now but to believe him. It doesn’t hurt to go and see the possibility of our survival.’ Clarke said.
Bellamy tapped on my shoulder, 'Reyes and I can go check it out.’
'Actually, I’m thinking of staying.’
'Uhm, okay. Clarke, let’s go then.’ Bellamy kissed my cheek before he left the room.
The door shut behind Clarke and Bellamy, then Raven spoke up. 'I’m so done with all of this.’
'You have to be patient, Raven. I know we don’t have the time but-’
'But what, Y/N? You’re still trying to defend her after she knowingly kept the list a secret from you?’
Raven was right but no matter how much we argued with Clarke, there was no way she would do things our way. I didn’t have a choice but to trust that Clarke was going to help us.
'We don’t have a choice but to do what she says.’ I shook my head and lightly smiled at my sister. 'Let me know if you need anything, I’m going to see Abby.’
She nodded and smiled back and went back on her computer to continue her work.
✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤
'Y/N! Just the person I wanted to see. I can use a little help in here.’ Abby took a pill from the medicine shelf as she greeted me.
'Yeah, of course but you sure you want my help with this?’ I would love to help but I knew that I wasn’t technically qualified in the medical field.
Abby placed her hand on my shoulder, 'You’ve always been a huge help for me in the past few months. Don’t think you’re useless around here.’
'Thanks.’ I followed her back out to the room, filled with sick Flokru people.
I walked towards a familiar face and waved my hand, 'Hey, Luna. I hope you’re feeling better.’
'Actually I am.’ She said as she slowly sat up on the bed.
'It’s probably the nightblood. Everyone else isn’t doing too good but Luna… she’s healing.’ Abby stood next to me.
Before stopping A.L.I.E at Polis, Monty mentioned at Becca made nightblood and distributed it to people for an experiment. Perhaps we can use that method to possibly survive the radiation that’s coming in two months.
Abby looked at the expression on my face, 'I know. This can probably be the cure we’ve been waiting for.’
'Yeah…’ I mumbled to myself and looked over at Luna. 'Uhm, I just wanted to apologize for when we intruded the boat. I didn’t mean any of that to happen. We didn’t even know that one of us was chipped.’
As she lightly coughed, she shook her head. 'Don’t apologize. I understand that you were doing whatever it took to try to save your people.’
'The way we handled it was not right though. I’m very sorry for that.’
She chuckled lightly, 'You must think we deserve this… this illness.’
'No.’ Even to our worst enemy, I would never wish this deadly illness to anybody. 'Nobody deserves to suffer. Not like this.’

The Shocking Case of O.J. Simpson (Part 1)
Yep, we’re back with this insanity! In honor of me getting through the first week of winter semester, here is the next installment in KISS Unsolved! However, unlike last time, where we saw Paul, Gene, and Vinnie going on a hunt for the supernatural, here we see them covering a true crime case, because Buzzfeed Unsolved also covers unsolved true crime cases. It actually took me quite a while to decide which episode to adapt for this, but ultimately I decided on this one, partly because this case really fascinates me. I also decided that since there’s three co-hosts in this AU, Vinnie’s going to be the one covering the true crime cases (I thought it fitting, since he’s a bit of an unsolved mystery himself). Here is the original episode if you want to watch that before reading this story.
A quick note about this one: I learned from last time to split up the episodes so I don’t go over the post length limit and Tumblr starts acting like a jerk. I know it’s awkward, but that’s how it’s gonna have to be.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this case is very controversial. I realize that. It also contains some effed-up details that some people may not be comfortable with reading. If at any point you are feeling uncomfortable, please do not hesitate to stop reading. You are not a lesser person for it.
And now, without further ado, enjoy!

Paul
Gene
Vinnie
Something said in unison
[screen cuts from title card to Vinnie, Gene, and Paul sitting behind a desk cluttered with papers, pens, a desk lamp, and other objects. Behind them are bulletin boards full of things from various unsolved cases and conspiracies. In order from left to right: Paul, Gene, Vinnie]
VINNIE: This week on Buzzfeed Unsolved, we discuss the brutal murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, or as you may know it: the case of O. J. Simpson, who was Nicole’s ex-husband, a Hall of Fame running back in the NFL, and the case’s top suspect.
PAUL: Fun fact: we’re all old enough to remember this case.
GENE: Yep. I remember there was a lot of Yiddish thrown around my house after the verdict.
VINNIE: A lot of people our age and older than us will remember quite a bit about this case. I remember watching it on television.
PAUL: Yeah, I actually never knew O. J. was a football player. I always knew him as the guy who murdered someone.
GENE: Me too.
VINNIE: Yeah. There’s a lot of unpack here, so… let’s get into it. [opens folder]
[screen cuts away from the three to a black screen. Pictures and text appear on screen as Vinnie narrates]
VINNIE [voiceover]: In the early morning of June 13th, 1994, at 12:10 AM, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman were found outside Nicole’s Brentwood townhouse, stabbed to death.
[screen cuts to the three of them in a car driving through a neighborhood, Brentwood. Vinnie is driving, Paul is in the passenger seat, aiming a camera at Vinnie, and Gene is in the backseat]
VINNIE: So right now, we are on our way to Nicole Brown Simpson’s former residence. [time skip: the car parks on the side of the street]
PAUL: [looks at the house across the street] Is that it, right over there?
VINNIE: Yep. That’s the place.
GENE: I feel… I don’t really feel all that right going into this place.
VINNIE: Oh, we’re not going onto the property.
GENE: We’re not? I thought we were going to go see where the bodies were found.
VINNIE: Oh hell no, we’re not doing that.
PAUL: That is kind of disrespectful.
GENE: Okay, good.
[all three of them sit still for a couple beats. Then Vinnie sighs and unbuckles his seatbelt, and opens the door to get out. Gene and Paul follow suit. Screen cuts back to the slideshow]
VINNIE [voiceover]: At the time, Nicole and O. J. Simpson were divorced and living in separate residences, both in Brentwood. The bodies were discovered by two neighbors who were literally led to the crime scene by Nicole’s dog. Multiple neighbors would say the dog was incessantly barking at the time of the murder. [audio of a barking dog plays with the narration]
[cuts back to the sidewalk in front of Nicole Brown Simpson’s house. Paul has the camera on Vinnie, who is taking steps while Gene watches off to the side]
VINNIE: So the dog led the neighbors down the street, to the entrance, and they saw the blood coming down from the entrance to the sidewalk.
[cuts to the three once again sitting in the car; it is now darker out]
PAUL: What occurs to me, though, is how close together all these apartments are. And how…
VINNIE: How no one heard…
PAUL: Yeah. From the way I always heard it, I assumed the houses were really spread out and the street was bigger. But no, they’re all pretty stacked on top of each other. I think… I feel like someone would have had to have heard something.
VINNIE: … That’s a good point, I never thought about that. [runs his hand over his face] Jesus…
GENE: This case just got so much heavier.
[screen cuts back to the slideshow]
VINNIE [voiceover]: Let’s go over the established, highly-detailed timeline. On June 12th, 1994 at 6:30 PM, Nicole, her children, and others arrive at a restaurant called Mezzaluna. At 9:15 PM, Nicole’s sister calls Mezzaluna and says her mother left her glasses there. Ronald Goldman goes to pick up the glasses. At 9:00 – 9:30 PM, Brian “Kato” Kaelin and O. J. Simpson go to McDonald’s for dinner.
Can’t imagine McDonald’s was excited to hear that…
Yeah…
…as part of the testimony.
Was that part of the testimony?
I mean it had to have been, since it’s on the official timeline.
… Well.
*snickering*
I mean… it got a lot of coverage at the time so… free advertising, I guess?
Yeah, I suppose.
VINNIE [voiceover]: At 9:45 PM, Kato and O. J. return home from McDonald’s. Kato was staying in O. J.’s guest house at the time. At 9:48 to 9:50 PM, Goldman leaves Mezzaluna with an envelope containing Nicole’s mother’s glasses. At 10:15 PM, Nicole Simpson’s neighbor hears a dog bark and cry while he is watching TV. The prosecution would later cite these barks as Nicole’s dog, who was crying out over the murder of its owner, Nicole.
They went by dog bark?
Well all dog barks are a bit different. The neighbor could’ve recognized it as Nicole’s dog from the bark.
Yeah, that’s probably what happened.
Honestly, I feel like the dog is the real hero of this story.
*laughs* I don’t think there are many heroes in this story, Gene.
No, let’s say that. We need at least one good thing to come out of this story.
Fine, okay. This dog’s a regular Lassie.
VINNIE [voiceover]: At 10:25 PM, a limo driver named Allan Park arrives at O. J.’s home, O. J. having been scheduled for a red eye flight from L. A. to Chicago at 11:45 PM. At 10:40 PM, O. J.’s guest, Kato, hears three loud thumps on the outside wall of the guest house he is staying in. From 10:40 to 10:55 PM, Park buzzes O. J.’s intercom several times, but there is no answer. Just before 11:00 PM, Park sees a shadowy figure—six feet tall, two hundred pounds—walking across the driveway towards the house. At 11:00 PM, Park tries buzzing the intercom again; this time, O. J. answers. O. J. tells Park that he had overslept and had just gotten out of the shower.
Suspicious.
Yeah, quite suspicious.
This is a very detailed description of a “shadowy figure.”
*laughs* Yeah, “He was six feet, weighed two hundred pounds—and was enshrouded in shadow.”
*laughter*
VINNIE [voiceover]: At 11:45 PM, O. J. departs on an American Airlines flight to Chicago. And taking us back to the start, at 12:10 AM, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman are discovered outside her townhouse stabbed to death. Evidence found at the crime scene includes a bloodstained glove left behind by the killer, a knitted hat, and a bloody footprint. At 5:00 PM, detectives arrive at O. J.’s house and discover some key pieces of evidence… but we’ll get to that later. Meanwhile, O. J.’s flight lands in Chicago. According to lead prosecutor Marcia Clark, Detective Ron Philips called O. J. to inform him his ex-wife was dead. O. J.’s first response: “Who killed her?”
Not good.
Yes, very not good.
Not, “How did she die?”
Nope.
“What happened?”
Nope.
“Who killed her”… that’s what he said.
*quiet laughter*
That’s not the go-to question there.
*laughter* Heheh, no, it is not.
Not the best decision ya could’ve made, O. J.
VINNIE [voiceover]: O. J. was questioned for three hours by the LAPD, but released. On June 17th, 1994, O. J. was charged with the murder of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman. But he famously did not surrender to the police, and was declared a fugitive. The ensuing low-speed police chase of O. J. on the freeways of southern California in his white Ford Bronco is a lasting memory for anybody familiar with the case.
Do either of you remember this?
Oh yeah, I definitely remember this.
My memories of this are actually a little vague. I do remember people talking about this after it happened, though.
I think my sister actually yelled at the screen for O. J. to go faster.
*laughter*
VINNIE [voiceover]: O. J. was in the passenger seat, while the car was driven by his friend, Al Cowlings. Cowlings explained he did not stop because O. J. had a gun to his own head in the car, and because O. J. was suicidal. A suicide note written by O. J. was in fact found, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
[screen cuts to the three back in the car. It is daytime, and they are now on the freeway]
VINNIE: So right now, we are going about the speed O. J. was going, and we’re in rush-hour traffic.
PAUL: I gotta say, I’m actually a little bored.
GENE: This doesn’t exactly feel like Fast and Furious.
VINNIE: Well, the stuff in Fast and Furious probably doesn’t happen in real life, Genie.
VINNIE [voiceover]: During the chase, they recorded a phone call between O. J. and homicide detective Tom Lange. Here’s some audio from that:
LANGE: Nobody’s going to get hurt.
SIMPSON: I’m the only one that deserves…
LANGE: No, you don’t deserve that.
SIMPSON: I’m gonna get hurt…
LANGE: You do not deserve to get hurt.
SIMPSON: [groans]
LANGE: You do not deserve to get hurt. Don’t do this.
SIMPSON: All I did was love Nicole. All I did was love her.
VINNIE [voiceover]: The chase would end at O. J.’s home in Brentwood. Inside the car, they found, in what I imagine was unintentional humor, makeup adhesive, a fake mustache and goatee, O. J.’s passport, and a gun.
Pfft, hahahahah—!
*laughing* What the hell?
*laughing* I know, that’s—just try to imagine one of the most famous people at this time, trying to sneak through airport security with a glued-on mustache…
That’s hilarious!
… and thinking it’s gonna work.
This guy didn’t even change his passport, that’s… was he even trying at all?
VINNIE [voiceover]: O. J. surrendered to the police at 8:51 PM. Now, let’s go over the suicide note. Apart from thanking those who meant a lot to him in his life, O. J. professed his innocence. Quote, “First, everyone understand. I have nothing to do with Nicole’s murder. I loved her; always have and always will. If we had a problem, it’s because I loved her so much.”
Well, that’s… kinda sweet, I guess…
Seems kinda over the top to me.
I had the same impression. Overall, though, when you put it in with everything else… I don’t know.
What’s our consensus here, do we all agree that he did it?
I have actually been told that we should refrain from explicitly saying who we think did it.
Oh, really?
Why?
Well, because this is a very controversial case. We all remember how controversial it was. We don’t wanna step on any toes.
... I guess that’s fair.
Yeah, that’s fair.
To be continued in Part 2!
#kiss unsolved#kiss unsolved true crime#so just to clarify on their roles for episodes#gene does the supernatural episodes while vinnie does the true crime#and paul is the voice of reason and skeptic (and of course the troll lol)#as I said in the beginning: this is a pretty controversial case#but it was a fascinating one for me since it happened less than a decade before I was born#so that's why I went with this one#hey at least it's not jonbenet ramsey#I agree with shane; that case bums me out man#anyway hope you guys enjoyed!#kiss au writing#my writing#thanks for reading!

Throne of Night Theory Builds Part 16: The Mist Creature
Imagine my surprise when I learned the Canadian dollar dropped considerably. I’m so glad this AP was done when it was and not now. I don’t know I could have handled paying 1.5x the value we were originally quoted. That said, with so much “free time”, I can’t help but daydream that Gary’s working on the AP to kill time. During this time trying time, it’d be a nice pick-me-up.
Today’s entry isn’t a new picture, but it’s definitely cool to look at. A creature made of mist awaits our heroes and is about to ambush them. It took me a fair while to look up all the different kinds of fog and mist-like creatures in Pathfinder 1st Edition. I finally settled on today’s base creature because of the very descriptive eyes both in the picture, and in the lore write up that I discovered. They seemed to match, so that’s what I went with.
For the CR, I looked up sample encounters in the beginning of Book 5 of “Way of the Wicked”, and one of them was a CR 15. Given how difficult the creature would be to advance and make a worthwhile threat, that’s what I went with.
For space reasons, I’ll be cropping the encounter build.
All images shared here were done by the forever fantastic and amazingly talented Michael D. Clarke, aka SpiralMagus
EDIT: All stats are cleaned up and look pretty.
BTW, it suggested I make one because there are those who’ve expressed they want to reward my efforts, so I made a Ko-Fi page. No pressure in supporting it though. I know we’re all experiencing financially trying times right now. I hope everyone’s staying safe right now.
The creature I went with, due to his piercing blue glowing eyes, is the fogwarden. It’s from way back during AD&D days, and was converted by Frog God Games for their Tome of Horrors Complete. I took a few liberties and combined the 3.5, Pathfinder, and 5e versions. Yeah, all three are different from one another. This is what the “unique” aspect of it is. But this way, it’s an actual threat at CR 15. Also, I made it a psychic. While the fogwarden can still use its lightning abilities, it can’t cast any spells in its constant gaseous form. However, it can use psychic spells since you only need emotions.
For this, I advanced the HD to 8 from 4, gave it the Mighty Template, and the Mist creature template. Redundant, I know, but those extra abilities and hp from changing it to an outsider definitely round out the creature more. Despite all the overlap, it still ended up being a CR 15. It’s technically a CR 16, given the templates and HD, but it just does not have the AC nor deal the damage a typical CR 16 should, so I dropped it down to 15. If used to its fullest potential, and it can bottleneck PCs with the fog abilities, then it might actually be worth more XP, but on paper it’s only worth this amount. GMs are free to reward their players more if the encounter ends up being far more difficult than anticipated. At this level though, the PCs shouldn’t find 4th level psychic spells or obscuring fog spells that overwhelming.
I will point out that this is a 3PP monster, so it doesn’t really follow the rules too well. All monsters are supposed to have three odds stats and three even. This creature had two odd and four even. It’s not even in the original 3.5 stats. In fact, the Wisdom is 2 lower. The 5e stats are exactly the same as a the 3.5 ones, so that didn’t help me any. I needed one more odd number so I threw in a magic tome for good measure. This gave me the numbers I needed.
If you’re wondering where I got some of the damage numbers from, I was looking at the original fogwarden stats from AD&D, and what they suggested for their 8 HD advancement. Best part is even stronger ones are large size and have a less globe of invulnerability. On top of that, they’re a mystic theurge of CL 17/CL 13th (arcane/divine). It’s too bad old stats didn’t have ability scores.

Animate Dead (Su) The electrical aura of the fogwarden can animate dead creatures within 20 feet. This is otherwise identical to an animate dead (caster level 8th). The animated creatures resemble zombies (and use their stats) and are under the control of the fogwarden that animated them. They are not undead however, and cannot be turned or rebuked. If the fogwarden is slain or moves more than 20 feet from a zombie, the animated creature collapses dead and cannot be animated again. Cloud Sight (Ex) A mist creature can see through clouds, gases, fogs, mists, and smoke as though they didn’t inhibit vision. Creatures and objects do not gain concealment from a mist creature due to such conditions. A mist creature may use this ability while gaseous. Electricity Discharge (Su) Electricity constantly plays across a fogwarden’s form. Any metal object (including metal weapons) that contacts a fogwarden’s body takes 6d6 points of electricity damage. Magic items receive a DC 25 Reflex saving throw to reduce the damage by half. Nonmagical items and objects receive no save and automatically take full damage. A creature holding the object or weapon at the time of contact takes 6d6 points of electricity damage as well (DC 25 Reflex save for half). Gaseous Form (Ex) The fogwarden’s natural form is that of fog or mist. This ability is similar to the gaseous form spell (caster level 8th), except that a fogwarden does not lose its supernatural abilities or its lightning bolt ability, and has a fly speed of 40 feet. It is immune to and cannot perform combat maneuvers. Mighty Damage (Ex) A mighty creature adds +5 damage to all of their attacks, spells, and supernatural abilities. If a spell or ability targets multiple creatures (ie. magic missile), the bonus damage is only applied once to a single target of the mighty creature’s choice. Vulnerability to Sunlight (Ex) Fogwardens shun sunlight. A fogwarden exposed to sunlight is staggered for as long as it remains in the sunlight, and is destroyed utterly after 1 hour of exposure if it cannot escape.
--name means “mist” in dwarven.
