This model's not going to win any awards, but it's won my heart. I have a strong fondness for the 90s monopose plastics from GW, they're all beautiful miniatures that encompass the whimsical feel of classic WFB. And I hate assembling plastic kits. It's a miserable chore.

When I first got into Warhammer, and miniatures in general, as a young sprout, I was immediately drawn to the Skaven. They were little rat dudes, how cool is that? Sadly, for a child with not a massive amount of cash or patience, having undiagnosed ADHD, it was a Bad Choice and I ended up playing Orcs & Goblins for a bit after winning a boxed army in a raffle at a nearby GW (they used to do those). But, my love of Skaven has remained and, despite only every playing one game with a mostly unpainted army, I still dream of having a properly painted set to enjoy.

I'm going to redo the sword blade though.

Le Gobbo, man at arms. He doesn't speak breton very well and looks a little funny, but as long as he can stand in a line, listen to orders, and swing a polearm his knightly lords don't care too much.

What Heliinx will sound like when (more like if, but ya know--) she reaches her 40s and 50s. She’s currently in her 20s, which would be elderly for a normal skaven. However, Grey Seers have lifespans similar to humans, assuming they live long enough to lead them fully.

After not painting for two years (or more! Possibly 3.) I can honestly say it’s not like riding a bike. I think my eyesight has worsened as well. Anyway - here’s my first albino rat 🐀

After drying, the blood on the snow looks awful. Hmm. Is there a gloss you can use on blood? Also, how should I shade this? Help 💕

realised I hadn't posted the first (semi) finished clanrat of the absolute mountain of them I need to slowly work through because I am a very good girlfriend and painting my partners skaven for them because while we're both disabled, painting is like 70% of the hobby for me vs a means to an end playing for them.

Which I totally get, however dear god why do we both have to have fallen for horde armies?? So many clanrats... so many deathrattle.....

Anyway, little rat boy who will be joined by many, many more in plenty of variations of greens and coppers/brass bc well, they're skaven, I don't see them having a uniform colourscheme beyond a family of colour (also bc skryre best clan yes-yes)

why have a mostly balanced army when you can have 1920 clanrats and a few other units?

Impressive-excellent army choice--build! Love-love the amount of clanrat there, how many of them exactly?

A skaven weapon team armed with a warpfire thrower. Even with a team made up of two skaven is prone to infighting and backstabbing, with the fuel-bearer scheming to usurp the wielder, while the wielder remains paranoid of any attempts to usurp his coveted position.

At the same time, both members of the team have to keep their ears out from the numerous threats that come with being embedded in a hissing, chittering unit of clanrats. Although often the worst threats can be dealt with when the warpfire thrower 'accidentally' misfires.
