Inspired by how much I love the speak with animals shenanigans in bg3 and dnd in general, Nova knows the spell herself (idc if her class can’t learn it!! I don’t play her by the rules gksbfksh) and I think she can probably teach herself new animal/creature languages alongside others, although it’s very difficult and she doesn’t know a lot.

She’d likely learn how to converse with creatures like horses or ravens first (this was coincidental ofc lol) but she’d be familiar with more Fae dialects than anything else due to her raising and inclinations. However, literally all of this is just to say: she can innately communicate with cats of all kinds, including stuff like tressym and dirlagraun. Because she is one, ofc! ☺️☺️

And all of this stems from me wanting to share the concept that Nova regularly talks with or makes remarks/picks up various pieces of information from creatures sometimes instead of just people as she’s wandering around, naturally more frequently when she travels, or is just around more creatures. Vax finds it fascinating and also a little amusing, and he gets into the habit of asking her if she’s talked with the local wildlife lately if they ever hit a wall in their questing :3c

The whole wavy hair kaz hc is pretty popular BUT

its also popular that inej ADORES kaz with hisbhair like that..

so imagine if she just never says that

and he keeps gelling it back

and then someday she just says really offhand "i prefer it wavy you know?"

Nova and Baizhu probably have at least a working relationship due to how frequently they encounter each other in Qingce Village (and other parts of Liyue no doubt, like the harbor.) She always brings him a bundle of rare herbs from deep within Jueyun Karst or picked special from the wilderness around the village; I’d wager it became a sort of habit she ended up adopting out of courtesy. And also I really like collecting things lol

Qiqi and Yaoyao will tag along and help out sometimes too, Nova definitely fills a kind of niche in them both that’s akin to an older sister, but also Nova’s bond with all of the Adepti and their related members is unique! I guess that’s to be expected when you capture the heart and soul of the nation’s god, right? ;3

Hc that when Kanej's kid asks them how they meet, instead of telling them all the details Inej just decideds to make up something like

"Oh, he fell from the sky"

"You see, I was reeling the nets in on my ship when i caught a little fish. It turned out to be quite handsome so I decided to keep it"

"Uncle Jesper won him at a gambling hall and thought he'd make quite a nice birthday present"

and Kaz just goes along with it (at least until the kids are old enough to know)

After the whole Kuwei auction debacle, Kaz suddenly becomes a huge stickler about pairing off during jobs. The Dregs all complain to each other about what a hard-ass he's being, but unless they want to be scrubbing toilets for a month, they'd better stick to their pairs all the way until everyone reconvenes at the end of the job, no matter how in-the-clear or "finished" it may seem. No detours, no dallying, and absolutely no one going on their own. The Dregs don't get what the big deal is, and maybe Kaz doesn't even admit it to himself, but some buried part of him knows why.
