dont worry darlings!! i usually dont wanna get into it too much because it just makes me upset (and i dont enjoy hating on here, he's the only exception but it still feels a bit…). BUT we have mainly id say three reasons for disliking him on here:

1. super annoying driver on the radio. sure this doesnt matter a lot, but im ALLERGIC to whiny drivers. and is*ck doesn't just whine, he has on several occasions outright screamed into the ears of his engineers for things that aren't even their fault.

2. he's just generally disrespectful and rude to the people around him, even his own team members. he went on instagram and publicly slandered his engineers for "not making it easy for me this season" (when other drivers continuously thank and apologize to their engineers despite getting bad results). that just says a lot about him in my opinion.

3. the feature race of austria this year… probably the thing that sparked most ppls hatred. i've ranted about it too many times and i frankly dont have the energy to do it again rn, but to sum it up: is*ck wanted to switch positions with pepe, said he'd give the position back if he didnt catch up with the drivers ahead. took a ton of laps, didnt catch up (instead, made both himself and pepe more vulnerable to the drivers behind) – and didnt give the position, that pepe had rightfully earned, back. all this while whining about all kinds of things about pepe on the radio. read more about it heerreeee, idk im already too upset to talk anymore about it.

Might be a hot take, but I’ve always thought that Johnny is Kreese’s weakness, and Daniel is Terry’s. Like, I know some people think Terry’s weakness is Kreese (and to some extent, yes), but Daniel seems to be his absolute obsession, his total undoing. Kreese at least had the best friends/comrades in arms thing, but the Daniel thing is just plain weird from any side. This once 17 year old brat has such a hold on Silver that the man threw away 30+ years of peace at the mere mention of his name. It was never about Cobra Kai. It was always about Daniel.

YES. I completely agree. And as more time has gone by since Season 4 came out, I've noticed even the more casual fans have noticed. Someone took this screenshot from YouTube, but I've seen similar comments on reddit too.

And Kreese, being another master manipulator, knew exactly what he was doing when he brought up Daniel to Terry again in 4x01...

There was literally no reason for Kreese to bring up Daniel LaRusso unless he knew that Terry would care. Why would Terry care. 👀

Kreese knows how to get people to come to him. How to dangle something that they want in front of them that only he can seemingly give.

When no other tactic worked on bringing Terry back into the fold, Kreese brought out the big guns and dropped Daniel's name.

Not to take away at all from the love and friendship that Terry felt towards John. But it became nostalgia and obligation, ultimately ruining their bond.

Little side note-- the fact that we watched Kreese make others do what he says in order to get what they want for three seasons made the prison scene in 5x07 even more satisfying:

AND the first person to play the uno reverse card and use this tactic against Kreese was Daniel. Terry's student. You gotta love it.

I mean, we could speak at length about the parallels between Kreese and Terry and their star students Johnny and Daniel. The narrative mirrors and foils. But it's precisely their respective relationships with their students that is more compelling.

Anyway. I'm going to quickly list examples of Daniel's hold on Terry and then focus on the meat of the issue.

Terry falls apart and goes ALL IN on everything Cobra Kai only AFTER Daniel rejects his apology.

Terry gives Daniel multiple warnings to not interfere but never tries to gets rid of him like Johnny or Kreese after no warnings at all.

Terry dated a woman who looked a lot like Daniel with similar values.

Terry treats Kenny near identically to Daniel as a student but in the sincere way he wishes he had with Daniel.

Terry loses his cool when Daniel wants to surrender and walk out of his life.

Terry tells Chozen he considers Daniel his only rival. As in Equal.

I'm sure there's plenty I'm forgetting but you can find posts in the silverusso tag about all these topics and more. x.x

Now, let's get to one of the most important and defining scenes for Terry's arc. And again, it's a direct result of Kreese's manipulation:

Kreese, knowing what makes Terry tick and how to get him further on his side, comments that Daniel really knows how to hold onto a grudge. As if he doesn't. Anyway, it's twisting the knife into Terry again when he's clearly already low.

You don't think Kreese noticed how hurt Terry was at the rejection?

He notices everything. He learned in Vietnam from his Captain how to use love against someone as a perceived weakness. Many thoughts on that.

Anyway

The way in which Kreese says, "So... what now?" Tells me that he told Terry this was going to happen. You also have to remember their conversation leading up to the garden scene:

Terry was damn near close to defending Mr. Miyagi and Daniel over Kreese's own personal grudge. To the point where Terry was rolling his eyes and sighing over his friend being overdramatic about what happened in the past.

He was tired of hearing about it.

I'm sure Daniel told Terry the truth about that Halloween night. And look who Terry seems to side with...

Kreese wanted violent retribution and Terry was the one that talked him down. It was Terry's idea to apologize to Daniel and we'll just allll get along. Easy peasy. Surely, Daniel would forgive him.

But, Daniel proved Kreese right in Terry's eyes. As I'm sure Kreese hoped would happen. Couldn't have worked out better. I bet on the car ride over to Miyagi-Do, Kreese was complaining how this was a waste of time and LaRusso isn't the sweet kid you remember etc.

From that day forward, Terry is determined to prove Daniel wrong. About him, about Cobra Kai, about everything. Terry is going to make Cobra Kai work and help kids and he'll be the best sensei ever and Daniel will be sorry!

You'll be sorry you weren't a part of it!

I firmly believe that Daniel is Terry's true weakness and he didn't even realize it. But Kreese did.

And if Daniel had seen it, then he could've had Terry eating out of the palm of his hand.

The one movie quote they haven't used in the show yet is, "For person with no forgiveness in heart, living even worse punishment than death."

I'm hoping they'll use this with Daniel realizing he can help heal himself, and Terry, by forgiving him. Of course, Terry will have to do something more to redeem himself. I'm just saying.

And then maybe Terry can see that Daniel was his weakness all along, but there's still time to make him a strength.

One could argue that he already felt that way while he was being arrested. The way he was looking at Daniel... That awe. Daniel LaRusso got the best of him, again, all because he couldn't let him go.

Here's to hoping that Season 6 ends our suffering lmao.

Okay but like.... just HOW hansy is Monoma when it comes to Shinsou's girl tho?

OH man, way more handsy than anyone would really like, which gets made worse by the fact that not even Shinso is as gung-ho about touching you in public as his stupid, blonde friend.

The worst part, though: Shinso is SO dumb about it (at least, at first). He knows Monoma is quite the acquired taste for some people, but... he's gotten so used to the weird antics of being his friend that he kind of just... knows/assumes Monoma isn't actually going to steal you away/do anything that creepy to you... not realizing... he is already THAT creepy.

Monoma's "touchy" isn't the kind of gentle or flirty touching that Denki sometimes paws at you with (holding your waist when Shinso's gone to get you all drinks at the bar, if only to keep you safe, or kissing your knuckles when he jokes he wants the kind of relationship you two have--the kind of thing Shinso does keep a watchful eye on, that charismatic dumbass), no... Monoma touches you roughly, a little bit like a piece of meat, or communal goods Shinso has little interest in keeping to himself.

WHICH ISN'T TRUE AT ALL!!! And all things considered, he is well meaning? If someone who jokingly smacks your butt can be well meaning in the first place.

You just kinda have to be the one to bring it up to Shinso that... Monoma doesn't seem to get that you're not his? </3 ... and isn't just being a friend and celebrating your relationship... but rather being a little, okay, QUITE demeaning.

(Probably because... on one hand he's really happy Shinso finally scored you after 20 years of staring at the back of your head when you weren't looking, but on another, doesn't realize... being friendly with Shinso doesn't make him friendly enough with you to wrap his arm around your neck the way he does, or drag you places by the hand the way he does, or whistle when you arrive wearing the cutest outfit THE WAY HE DOES...)

Which is why I see it going one of two ways:

The first, Shinso happily gives Monoma a fat black eye which the blonde accepts rather graciously for being such a headass in regards to you...

Because, like… On one hand, I like that they take into account RB academy drivers and they promote someone who is doing good in lower formulas (that gives me hope that if Pepe has a good season next year he might have a chance in the future, who knows). But, on the other hand is like… I don't know if I like him that much (of course, this is a personal opinion, and that doesn't takes away the fact that he deserves the chance, mostly because, why is there formula 2 if not to look for younger talents?)

Anyways, enough yapping. Super happy for Paul, and I hope we can see him around F1 paddock next season <3

Feral cat boy (as in "literally raised by tigers" feral) SUPER BRATTY especially early on. he does become less bratty over the course of the show as part of his character arc (his domestication arc if you will) but its a really well done character arc. mega genki and utterly precious. also he has the speech pattern of a toddler. you'd think that would be annoying but it only adds to his kitty charm

Gekiranger also just a great show I'd recommend it to anyone

Red - Gaoranger

Yes his name is Red, the gaos refer to each other by their colors not their government names. moderately genki, a wee bit dumb and just plain strange. and hoooo boy does he get his shit rocked. all the gaos get their shit rocked, often out-of-suit and for several real world minutes at a time. several members die. they get better tho. I won't say which ones

Gaoranger is my personal favorite midtier sentai. barely a plot and zero character progression but its a fun brainless watch. even better to watch one handed wink wonk

Yamato - Zyuohger

Opposite of bratty and mean, he's super accommodating and nice almost to the point of being a pushover and his genki attitude is very obviously a mask, not helped by his teammates being a bunch of ornery animals (literal) plus a needy, emotionally volatile sixth. also mans got daddy issues. and mommy issues. and uncle issues. Yamato's suffering is just as mental as it is physical. and plenty of physical suffering is had

Zyuohger actual good show as well, even when not accounting for the plentiful ryona

Also I haven't watched dekaranger yet (I hear its just Fine) but I do know dekared is absolutely batshit. like dropkicking his teammates type batshit. if anyone wants to recommend more bratty/cunt reds from sentais I haven't seen yet to Anon, speak your truth x
