•Saw series- the classic films for the guys who just wanna see some people get ripped to shreads (honestly, after the second one, they go downhill)

•Jigsaw- the more recent edition to the Saw series (this ones actually pretty good and FULL of gore)

•Hostel- Saw Studies Abroad (TM)

•Final Destination series- kinda a dumb one. The movies can be kinda dumb, but the kills are INSANE. Fun movies to watch with the gang

•Texas Chainsaw Massacre- you know it, you love it, I don’t gotta explain it

•Cannibal Holocaust- seriously messed up. Banned in multiple countries. It’s something special.

•The Midnight Meat Train- lesser known, kinda weird, super bloody

•The Ritual- camping trip turns bad. Monster looks really cool

•A Quiet Place- you’ve probably seen it. Jim from the office speaks sign language

•The Babadook- children’s storybook is not kid friendly

•Backcountry- bears are dangerous

•Alien- you’ve seen this already but it needs to be here

•The Descent- dont watch if your claustrophobic

•An American Werewolf In London- also a fave. Best werewolf movie ever made

•The Monster- lesser know, actually pretty good

•The Thing- classic. Super good. Based on a short story. No one can be trusted because you don’t know if they’re even them

5) Horror Comedies

•Zombieland- hysterical. Bloody. Great cast

•Cabin In The Woods- this movie is insane. Combine every horror monster ever, the Illuminati, and the Office- that’s this movie

•Shaun of the Dead- the classic horror comedy

•Scary Movie series- less horror, ridiculous comedy

•This Is The End- again, like no horror, but one of the funniest films ever

6)Found Footage (not a great genre, but some can be pretty entertaining)

•The Blair Witch Project- basically the king of the found footage films. You’ve seen it

•The Conspiracy- the Illuminati is real and they don’t like to be filmed

•Paranormal Activity series- kinda annoying to horror fans. Relies on jump scares and the characters are idiots. But if I’m doing a section on foud footage, this has to be here

•Creep- okay this movie actually really disturbed me. People are absolutely insane. Don’t meet up with people from Craigslist

•V/H/S series- basically a anthology of short horror films. Kinda fun

•Apollo 18- the government faked the moon landing because they found some crazy shit

•The Sacrament- Jonestown caught on camera

•As Above So Below- Paris Catacombs are wack

•Grave Encounters- what if Ghost Adventures actually found ghosts

•Unfriended Dark Web- lets be honest: the first one sucked. Second one is actually not bad. Take away the ghosts, add the black market

•The Poughkeepsie Tapes- lesser know, can be hard to find. Really disturbing. Basically watching a serial killer tape his crimes

•Cold Ground- Set up to look just like it’s out of the seventies. It’s pretty fun

•The Last Exorcism- priests are liers

•Quarantine- English version of [REC]. I wouldn’t say it’s great, but it’s something

•Hell House LLC.- kids set up a haunted house. People die

•The Houses October Built- again with the haunted houses. Don’t trust em

•The Bay- Cabin Fever but found footage-y

•Willow Creek- y’all gotta leave Bigfoot alone

•Lake Mungo- girl drowns, family sees her ghost. No jump scares with this one, like most found footage. Mostly just a family in mourning

•The Tunnel- if the government says to stay out, STAY OUT

•The Taking Of Deborah Logan- alzheimers itself is awful to go through, but let’s add some more spooks

•The Possession Of Michael King- another possession film? Yep they just keep comin

•The Last Broadcast- suspicious murder of tv hosts

6) Family Fun

•Hocus Pocus- okay obviously

•Beetlejuice- dark humor in a “kids” film. Most of the comedy caters to adults, but it’s an awesome film

•Corpse Bride- guy accidentally marries dead girl. Wholesome family fun

•The Nightmare Before Christmas- my fave Disney film. Super cute

•Frankenweenie- dead dog=goodest boy

•Paranorman- sixth sense but now for kids+zombies

•Coraline- Might scar some small children, but I loved it when it came out when I was 8

7) Psychological

•Midsommar- happy cult family holds a festival

•Funny Games- home invasion movie done well. No cheap thrills, just some sadistic shit

•The Strangers- dont answer the door for people wearing masks when it’s not Halloween are you crazy

•The Perfection- artistic, bloody, absolute mind fuck

•Gerald’s Game- sexy time turns not good

•Unsane- imagine being stalked and no one believes you. That’s the premise

•Triangle- ummmmmmmm wtf is happening what time is it??

•It Comes At Night- trust is bad. Paranoia is good.

•The Silence of the Lambs- my personal favorite film. Serial killer helps rookie detective find another serial killer

High-Functioning Depression 1

Yesterday

Yest, I had a depression episode, you could say…. as depression is a constant state   of despair.

Yesterday the accumulation of stress and detonating events throgh the past weeks made me crumble friday 06/06/2020. This is the expllanaiton on how it works for me:

I work at a very demanding job as a project leader (sales) at an important packaging company on Guadalajara,, Mex. (Greetings from Mexico) so stress is part of my daily life and I´m a common overachiever so I know how to handle stress quite well. So, as for the clients I manage, June is a very charged month.

Two weeks ago, a friend of the office started flirting with me and I really appreciated the attention, because I considered him a good person and a man that could be a good stable relationship in the long run or simply a good guy I could date. So I gave in to the flirt.

Finaly a week ago, it was a mate´s birthday and various fellows from the office were invited, myself included and him. 

Long story short, I got a little drunk (which I never do because I´m an athlete and because I tend to do bad desicions as was this time) and we slept together.

Couple of days later I found out he has a girlfriend and I feel destroyed, used (I shouldn´t but well.... it is what it is) and worthless. That nigh felt so good to me and I thought of starting dating and then .....like a bomb exploding.....My love world fades into darkness once again.

I even wrote him after to go on a date which he didn´t refuse but didn´t accepted either. I see him less at work but when we see each other we interact casually and I begin to get confused.

And this Fruday after a very heavy week of work stress and in general a week where I felt down of energy, couldn´t train as eager as I do and completly destroyed my nutrition plan.......I asked him for a place to eat nerby and he offers to eat together. I accept with hope.

We arrived to the location, meal on the table I begin the smalltalk about the weekend that turned to the issue at stake.

He, once again completely destroyed me. He explains how he has a girlfriend and how he´s happy with her. 

He apologises a hundread times, he explains how he´s the one to blame and I explain how I don´t feel bad beacuse I´m single and I particularly don´t ming people seeing me kissing someone. But at the same time I felt used and how bad it is not being able to tell anybody out of fear of being judged. He explains how is his fault and how horrible he feels for being “that guy”.

And then everything comes down to me at once when he friendzoned me. I explain that it´s ok to be wrong and do mistakes.We´re all human but I tell him that ultimately I don´t know if I can (or want) to be his friend. How I feel worst because I wouldn´t want anyone to do to me the thing he did to his girlfriend. But inside I´m dead. 

How is that once again something that could be amazing and fun ended up in something so wrong and sad? How is it that another men managed to treat me this way and I let him. I would have loved to have all the information at hand and refuse him. How is that I can be the game for even the goodest men. I hate you hormones (they played a very important role on my desicion making process that night).

I feel now like an old rug which is receiver of male fluids and tossed to the trash. I guess some girls are just designed to be fucked and tossed. 

He tells me how strong and wonderful I am but by that moement I can only think to myself: “Yeah, I´m great and everything. Then how come I´m always the second  table plate?” 

He tells me how I´m a sparkle and how I shine. How happy I make people feel. If he only knew that I´m that way because I´ve walked through the darkest and saddest roads of the human mind, if he knew how bad it can get on our heart´s black holes. If he knew I am that way so I avoid people around me feel the same.

After that, leaving the place and saying goodbye with an everlasting but very sad hug, I start to cry uncontrolably and driving like a mad person. I fake a smile for the people at work but when I get home I start crying and eating uncontrollably. Listening to music to calm down. But I couldn´t calm down for hours and I cut off all communication. Is what I do so people can´t see my darkest side. I didn´t call nor answered any message. I pray to god just so I could die. 

My mom enters the room worried and just strokes my hair, she knows there´s nothing she can do and leaves offering her support the best she can, desperate and impotent I cry myself to sleep. I didn´t train (which is a big deal for me as a competitive athlete) didn´t eat (another serious red flag) and in overall didn´t have the strenght to do a thing. 

So I fell asleep and try to brace myself. Then, an old lover calls me and I proceed to meet him and ...well have sex with him. It does made me feel better, calmer and the endorphines help.

Today 06/07/20

I changed my nutritionist, so I go to the new appointment and he gives me confidence for my objectives as an athlete and it gives me the confidence I needed. 

Immideatly I proceed to train intensely and destroy myself physically so I don´t do it emotionally and mentally. While I train people gazes me like a crazy woman but I don´t care. I love to feel powerful and capable again.

Some friends messaged me and offered me their support and I feel blessed that I can count on them and to know I´m not alone and now I know that I can call them whenever I´m feeling like yesterday without the fear of them loosing their shit over my state. (OMG AMAZING!!!!)

But by far the best thing was when a couple of girls stared at me in absolute delight and admiration. I have longed for that all my life and I am so greatful for this new opprtunity to inpire, everyone and specially little girls.

 I thank life for this sign that saved my life; beacuse for me thhere´s no more important issue right now than the girls of tomorrow to be confident of themselves and it´s important to me that they know that they shouldn´t be afraid to be powerful and strong, to be whatever they want to be!

Yesterday may made me want to kill myself but today made me want to reborn from the ashes and continue to work for what I want and deserve.

"Me? Oh, you know...curly brown hair, tan complexion, I’ve gotten a little softer as I’ve gotten older, more curves than in my youth.” She rubs her hand “I’ve also gotten some radiation burns during the course of my research. “Wonderful” She laughs, and claps her hands together with a jovial grin “Simply wonderful! I spent more days than I could count out there on the sandy beaches, collecting samples of sea critters and studying them in their natural habitats” She leans on her hand , smiling “I can still smell the salt in the air, when I really think about it”

“The Institute” She says without missing a beat “I’m their Director after all.” She waves her gloved fingers dismissively "I took the liberty of changing our standards and practices away from Playing God and into actually helping someone for a change.” “As for allies...well. I met this nice man who claims to have been a courier once. Rules Vegas now, he says. We hit it off fairly well.. and heavens... I suppose there’s the woman who took over Pittsburgh from those slavers...”

“Nick? He’s fantastic” She points “I’ve never met a finer detective in my life. Even if he refuses to let me help mend his synthskin. Stubborn old bastard”

“My husband. He died when we were all frozen, but...there were some strange circumstances involving Institute tech that helped us find one another through the barrier of life and death” She pauses, and frowns slightly “ah. “I’ve always hated Vault Tec. They invited me to join their little experiment, but I declined in favor of continuing my research into radiation and mutation. And then the damned bastards froze me!”

“I wrote several studies on the effects of radiation exposure on the human body! hah, so I have some ideas on how to prevent it. Some lead lining in the clothes, lots of Rad-x and Radaway transfusions....building decontamination arches over all my doors. The usual stuff”

“I love those funny little geckos” She smiled “They’re just so precious!”

"Nuka Cola is absolute swill” She sniffs “ I’m a Sunset Sarsaparilla girl, myself. and just a little side note from one of my studies: Nuka Cola can melt a crab. A whole crab. Just saying!

“Mentats, Sometimes. I hate the damned things, but damn were they useful during particularly long and stressful studies”

“All the time. I remember it in all it’s glory...in all it’s faults. It was a flawed society built upon fear...but it was also peaceful, and comfortable... a place full of friends I’ll never see again...” She bites her lip gently “...I’ll help the Wasteland become something better... the Old World without it’s flaws..”

28. What’s your deepest regret? What would you do differently?

“Everything. I would have spoken up about the ethical issues I saw in the Institute before the war even began. I would have found another way to survive that wasn’t Vault Tec and it’s Trap. The ...the synth project maybe. I don’t know. I can’t dwell on this question too long without regretting almost everything I’ve done prior to my choice to change the Institute and fix the wasteland”

29. What’s your biggest achievement? Or what do you hope to achieve?

“Which leads us into this.. hah. When my son passed away, he left the Institute to me. in my hands. He trusted I’d keep us on the course he chose...but he was wrong. The Synths were an exercise in needless cruelty. A species created, given sentience and then called slaves and tools. I ...reorganized...the head committee, and demanded a stop to the hunting and production of synths. No more bodysnatching. no more ‘property retrieval’ . No more. There were those who fought me...and there were those who tried to remove me. But I’m stronger than I seem.” She smiled grimly “I got them to see things my way eventually. And with that, the Institute’s copious resources could be turned outward...and used to help the Commonwealth at large”

30. What do you want for the future? For yourself? Your friends? The world? ”I want...” She looks into the middle distance for a moment in thought “A world where we can all live in peaceful co-existence. Ghouls. Synths.
