Which is the best station icon?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No propaganda submitted.
Icon meanings:
Garibaldi: EN: Icon depicts a zarape (fringed shawl) and guitar. Name and icon reference Plaza Garibaldi, a city square known for the Mariachi bands based there. The square is itself named after Peppino Garibaldi, grandson of Giuseppe Garibaldi, who fought in the Mexican Revolution.
San Juan de Letrán: EN: Icon depicts the nearby Torre Latinoamericana, tallest working building in Mexico from 1956 to 1982. Name references the former San Juan de Letrán street, now part of the Eje Central avenue.
Doctores: EN: Icon depicts two doctors. Name and icon reference the Doctores neighbourhood, named after the fact that streets in the area were named after famous doctors (streets in a neighbourhood of Mexico City tend to share a common theme; unusually, here the neighbourhood is named after the streets, whereas it's often the opposite, or the two being named at the same time, or the streets having entirely unrelated names).
Obrera: EN: Icon depicts a hard hat framed by two gears. Name and icon depict the Obrera ("Workers' ") neighbourhood, named after the many industrial workers who lived there, especially in the late 19th and early 20th century.

January 7, 2025 - The wax figure of war criminal and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in the CDMX wax museum was covered in red paint and had its head bashed in with a hammer, in an act of protest against the ongoing genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza.
Let's hope these images will turn out to be prophetic the next time Netanyahu dares to set foot outside Israel. [video]
