If you are in a protest that severely outnumbers police and you see your comrades being dragged away/ beaten, absolutely grab some people around you and tell them to help you get your comrade back.
People want to help, often times they just need a little of direction or someone to show initiative.
P.S. cops are pussies. Unless they have been given a literal kill order, they will back out of fights they know they'll lose.

May 2, 2024 - Hundreds of protesters gathered in southeast London’s Peckham district to prevent the forced deportation of migrants to Rwanda. Protesters surrounded a bus intended for the transfer of migrants from a London hotel to the Bibby Stockholm barge, known as the “floating prison.” Police scuffled with the protesters, violently arresting a total of 45 people. The protesters managed to halt the bus for seven hours after it turned up until it eventually left the area without any migrants onboard. Those due to be removed were said to include teenagers attending colleges in the area.
This should count for something, while the government and police are despicable fascists (as in many places), at least solidarity and direct action stopped these people from being deported for now. Taking a little hope and inspiration from these small victories against the inhumanity of our governments is important in these terrible times.
All we hear of the UK is puritanical & punitive; is there nothing celebratory & joyous? Or is query naive?

It's so frustrating to be at protests that have the numbers to overpower police and watch comrades get snatched because the crowd direction just isn't there. Yesterday the Palestine March in London was 300,000 people strong and at one point the cops did a deliberate push through the march for very clearly no reason other than to antagonise people, accuse them of assaulting an officer and then detain them. We had absolutely hysterically overwhelming numbers on them and people were telling us to give up and pull away within seconds of the commotion starting. Dearrest training needs to be as widespread as antifascist consciousness and both need to be EVERYWHERE.
When we abolish the police it won't be because we reach a critical mass at a protest where there are more of us than them - there have literally always been more of us than them - it'll be because we've created structures to replace the criminal justice system in our community, we view police as an enemy force, and we organize to oppose them on the ground. When we do it, we will win.

Saw a vid of some students doin a lil riot, pushing against cops and chanting
Even saw a dearrest attempt and most people present demanding an end to genocide were in masks. All of this a precious rarity. But
Y'all
Do not take pics or vids of riots and do not bring your fucking phone to a protest, not in any mode.
Everyone who was present for resisting genocide in that fashion is at risk from stingray intercepts, from voice recognition, and if they were unmasked, facial recognition--- and COVID.
We need to riot for Palestine but this cannot be done safely if people are unmasked or carrying notoriously compromised surveillance recording devices.
do not endanger others by recording actions the state will use against them.
Do not endanger others with a deadly pathogen.
Do not do the work of the state for it.
Let people know what happens with anonymous reportbacks and use signal for encrypted messaging.

do u have any resources for what college/university staff can do to support student actions ?
It's pretty simple actually.
Show up. Walk out of your classes. Use your body as a buffer to protect students from police violence. If you're a professor, dress like a professor, carry a sign that identifies you as such, use your university key card access to help students get in, use your respectability to make the protest look good, and amplify student voices. Bring food and water and sleeping bags. Use your insider knowledge about university operations to tip off the organizers about how they might better succeed. Fail to call university security if you notice anything. Educate yourself on barricading tactics, dearresting, and other ways of using the tools in your environment to protect students and yourself from police attacks-- there's a lot of great stuff circulating on instagram now, some of which I shared today, as well as the Anarchist Library.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You stepped away from charles, so your lips couldn't touch anymore. You looked at his face, his eyes, with confusion. What was happening ? Just as you wanted to say something, he interrupted you.
"Y/n I need you to love me, like I love you. I need you to hold on to me, like I hold on to you. I need you to need me. Because this would mean, you can't see the possibility without me. Just like I do with you. "
Speechless. That was what you were. You didn't know what was happening. Just three weeks ago you hated each other, well you didn't hate him, you just thought he hated you. But you were so wrong.
You wanted to say something again, but he put his finder on your lip to silence you.
"You have no idea how far I would go for you, ma jolie fille." charles said, putting a wet piece of your hair behind your ear. My pretty girl.
"Je te donnerais la lune et les étoiles et tout un putain d’univers, si cela signifiait que tu es la femme la plus heureuse du monde." I would give you the moon and the stars and a whole fucking universe, if it would mean you are the happiest woman alive.
In the sky, the clouds started clearing up, as your mind cleared up too, which left you with only one question in your mind. You were stunned. The words charles said, and your heart jumped in your chest.
"You taste like the sweetest drug, mon couer. Like my dearrest addiction" charles growled. "created only for me."
Your breathing started going faster, as you heard his words. Your pulse beating faster by every second that passed. Maybe he was your drug, that you couldn't have enough of.
"God. I can't get enough of you." He rasped. "Everyone says drugs are your death, tell me why I feel so alive when I see you or when I'm with you."
"I... I don't know what to say." you stuttered. "Only that..." you swallowed, took a deep breath and continued. "I think I should go."
Charles bent down to your neck and groaned, as you said that. "You're it for me, baby. It's okay if you're not ready for me yet. Je t’attendrai pour l’éternité s’il le faut, mon coeur." I will wait for you for eternity if I must, my heart.
"I will wait a lifetime for you if I must." Charles lifted his head to look into your eyes. In them was, confusion, love and most of all, adoration. Then he whispered. "You are worth all the waiting."
At that moment, Charles thought, that was the end. That you had made up your mind and that you didn't want him or the relationship. But then you kissed him.
You moaned in his mouth when charles pulled you even closer to him.
"À partir de maintenant, je ne te laisse jamais partir. Jamais. Aujourd’hui, j’ai vu que tu es la seule chose dont j’ai besoin. La course est importante pour moi, mais vous êtes aussi important que la course." From now on, I'm never letting you go. Never. Today made me see that you are the only thing that I need. Racing is important to me, but you are as important, as racing.
You stepped away from his, to say. "Alors, tu vas me demander d’être ta petite amie ou quoi?" Charles chuckled at your aswer, pulling you close to him, pulling your chin up, so you could look at him. So, are you going to ask me to be your girlfriend or what?
"Y/n, mon coeur. Est-ce que tu me donnes l’honneur et que tu es ma petite amie ? " Y/n, my heart. Do you give me the honor and be my girlfriend?
"I'm not sure. Let me think about it" you answered with a small smirk on your lip, as you saw charles jaw drop.
"oui. I will be your girlfriend, charlie"
Charles composted himself, putted on hand on your waist and the other on your cheek, cradling in the process. You looked in his eyes, seeing happiness. And he looked in yours and saw adoration.
That's when Charles realized, he would do everything for you. No matter the consequences.

May 21, 2023 - Turkish police harass a group of Kurdish men for dancing halay to Kurdish music in an Istanbul park. One of the racist cops starts pepper-spraying one of the men for arguing, causing some other to fight back. When they run away the racist cop draws his handgun and starts firing in the air before giving chase. The cops managed to arrest four of the group, made them lay facedown on the ground with their hands cuffed behind their backs, while the cops played Ottoman military marches on their car stereo. Dear Americans, you know you can just buy the very same safety cutter the cops use to release you from flexicuffs and they are legal to own*
*Sit/context could argue that it's intent? Don't take legal advise from Anarchists in other countries.

It's really strange to see people on here talking about the police repression across american university campuses and how serious they are in such a spectacular-by-way-of-Bonnano manner - these liberals talking of voting whilst everyone around them with senses to know are rattling the bars, saying, hey, do you trust your water provider? are you safe from the borders? Do you have masks and medication and things to make art with, how much can the state fuck with you? Have you seen the brownshirts? (They were there before, already; this violent wave isn't exceptional, just a steady descent thru oft trodden roads.)
There's footage of a violent arrest on an american campus demo: a student is tazed and restrained. It seems like people filming are everywhere in shot - as journalists have shown where their interests lie, as ai is used to further mechanised slaughter and genocide across the globe, facial recog and data doppelgangers and all the rest - the camera flashes sting. Body cams and documentation have shown their place in societys prison industrial complex. dearrest work and legal observers take nothing away from the cameras if they must be there. Not to backseat analyse, but if i can soapbox about any issue it is about many cameras being cops. This is not to blame any of the brave demonstrators for state violence; it's just something that hurts to see happen again and again; many black and brown and racialised people have spoken about how turning state brutality into media for consumption by white supremacist media is further violence many times already, better than me. German arrests against conferences and other academic organising nodes are subject to legal, border, arrest and other violence; blood literally flies across the world.
I have seen reports of tear gas and rubber bullets (ar Emory) used (update: pepper bullet and spray seems to have been used instead of earlier reported munitions, but the violence at that campus is without question.) I have also seen two sniper's nests at Indiana and Ohio - the sheer brutality being wielded against many campus (here's Boston) demonstrators are not those of earlier in the campus demonstration wave; the escalation people like @ 3liza, @ intactics (and others) are noting as not unlike the ladder used in the escalation of violence that led to the Kent State state murders. american and german (as well as most of anglosphere and 'west europe') states continue to victimise jewish dissenters disproportionately (just as in the KS murders) thanks to the post IHRA-style zionist revisionist legalist shit definitions of anti semitism being used to repress huge numbers of brave people.
Here is an update on palestinian campus and school violence/repression, too. Update 28th April (28.04):
Join the American Campus Arrest Amnesty Phone Blast here! Calls are needed!
UT Austin Jail Call Support needed!
and to add to the spectacle of it all - hurry to attack capital before a new ideology makes it sacred to you! How does that old song go? - AOC is doing the old cooption enforcing, PR for cops, flashing her maskless face around a swarm of those Damn Cameras. May all journos politicians and bosses fuck off!

In terms of groups blocking weapons do you think Palestine Action and Stop Weapons MN are good to give to and support
Honestly, I do not know. I know the former has been involved in some actions but nothing specific and I definitely know nothing immediately about the latter For me, I look for the following: Is everyone masked? Are they keeping out/away press and counter protestors? Do they have arrest plans in place? Do they practice dearrest? Who else organizes with them? Do they protect participants' identities? A lot of people doing direct action have been independent groups of people who may know each other from work, school, worship, or any other communal social spaces & they decide to take action. I'm always wary of any nonprofits involved (which Palestine Action is) and especially if they organize with dangerous groups like PSL or RevCom. There are many ways to shut down war factories and they don't all require large groups of people doing blockades and many of them can be done in small groups or alone. None of them require a 503c. Personally, I will always recommend first and foremost giving to mutual aid groups active in your areas of concern-- they are directly supporting the most marginalized people, which can often include protesters. A lot of mutual aid groups supported the 2020-21 protests and remained active for years & have been providing aid to protests supporting Palestine this past year.
