So, I have a request for Vil and (platonic) Crewel with a reader/yuu whose fashion sense is basically nonexistent. Like, for example, pants with full picture, coat of bright color with pad shoulders and most famous of them all, crocks with socks. ("You should try it, it's comfortable!" Reader/yuu at some point)

It all started with your arrival at the Mirror Chamber for a meeting with Vil and Crewel. You’d thrown together the first thing you saw in your closet, which just so happened to be a bright orange leopard-print hoodie, glittering silver leggings with a full picture of a unicorn galloping across your thighs, and, naturally, crocs with socks. But not just any socks—socks with flames on them. Yes, you thought it was a look. A statement.

Yes, crocs with socks. How had that ensemble survived into Twisted Wonderland? Mysteries abound.

You walked into the room with the confidence of someone blissfully unaware of the impending disaster you were about to unleash. "Hey! So what’s up, guys?"

Vil, who had been looking down at his phone, slowly raised his head. His expression went from neutral to horrified within seconds. His eyes widened like you had just committed an unforgivable crime in the fashion world.

Crewel, standing next to Vil, dropped his pointer stick in shock. “Oh, sweet Circe...”

“What?” You blinked, completely oblivious. “Oh, wait—do I have something on my face?” You wiped your cheek in confusion.

Vil was speechless, but you could practically see the gears turning in his head, trying to make sense of the monstrosity before him. Finally, he spoke, his voice trembling, “What… is this… abomination?”

Crewel chimed in, clutching his heart like he had just suffered a blow. “Pup, did you get dressed in the dark? Or did you get dressed at all?”

You looked down at yourself, frowning. “What’s wrong? I think I look fine.”

“Fine?” Vil echoed, his tone high-pitched in disbelief. “Fine? You look like a circus clown who just got into a street brawl with a technicolor vomit palette!”

You winced, shrugging. “But it’s comfortable!”

Vil took a deep breath, placing a hand on his forehead like he was trying to ward off an oncoming migraine. “Comfortable. You—You’re choosing comfort over aesthetics? Comfort over… dignity?”

Crewel stepped forward, eyeing you like you were some sort of lost cause. “The crocs with socks,” he murmured, almost to himself. “We have truly reached the end times.”

You held out your arms, trying to defend yourself. “Hey, don’t knock the crocs until you’ve tried them! They’re so comfortable!”

Vil looked at you like you had grown a second head. “Comfort?! These… shoes, if you can even call them that, are a crime against humanity. There are many sins in this world, but that?” He pointed at your feet as if they had personally offended him. “That is unforgivable.”

“I’m expressing myself!” you retorted, trying to defend your beloved flames and crocs combo. “It’s, like, a mix of cozy and edgy.”

“It’s a mix of atrocity and chaos!” Vil shot back, rubbing his temples. “I can’t believe this. How can you live with yourself?”

Crewel stepped forward, eyes narrowing at your glittering silver leggings. “Do these shine in the dark?” he asked incredulously.

“They do,” you admitted proudly. “Handy for late-night trips to the kitchen.”

Vil’s gasp was practically theatrical. “No, no, no… This… this is a crime against humanity, a crime against eyes. You have reached a level of fashion disaster I didn’t even think was possible.”

You puffed out your chest. “It’s expressive!”

“It’s revolting,” Vil countered. “I’m losing years off my life just by looking at it.”

You sighed, waving your hand dismissively. “Okay, okay, I get it, you hate my style. But this is just how I roll, you know? I like to stand out! You gotta admit I’m unique!”

“Unique?” Vil choked. “No. This is not unique. This is a fever dream. This is what happens when nightmares and bad taste have a lovechild!”

Crewel leaned over to Vil, whispering in horror, “I’ve never seen anything like it in my life, and I’ve seen everything.”

Vil placed a hand on Crewel’s shoulder, staring dead-eyed at your outfit. “We have to do something. Immediately.”

You looked between them, still unsure of what the big deal was. “Guys, come on, it’s not that bad.”

Vil snapped his gaze to you, eyes wild with disbelief. “It’s worse than bad! I’m actually offended by how you’re standing there as if you’ve done nothing wrong.”

Crewel nodded solemnly. “This is a rescue mission, pup. And you’re about to thank us for it.”

Suddenly, Vil’s face lit up with determination. “This… abomination cannot stand. I will personally oversee your rehabilitation.”

You blinked. “Rehabilitation?”

“Yes,” Vil said, voice firm. “You’re a danger to yourself and everyone around you. Fashion this offensive is a public safety hazard.”

You glanced at Crewel, pleading for help. But Crewel, instead of coming to your aid, smiled like he had just found the perfect opportunity for training. “Listen to Vil, puppy. He knows best. And maybe, just maybe, we can prevent another tragedy like this from happening again.”

“But—” you started, trying to defend your beloved crocs one last time, “what if I just—”

“No.” Vil cut you off, his voice final, as if he were delivering a royal decree. “From this moment on, you are banned from wearing crocs. And if I ever catch you with socks and sandals…” He narrowed his eyes threateningly.

“But I don’t own sandals?” you tried to protest.

“Good,” Vil replied sharply. “Keep it that way.”

Crewel nodded sagely beside him. “There’s hope for you yet, pup. Just… never again.”

Vil sighed dramatically, then placed his hands on your shoulders, looking deep into your eyes. “We will make this right.”

You smiled nervously, not entirely sure what you were getting into. “Okay, Vil, I’ll trust you… but just so you know, I’m still sneaking in my crocs when you’re not looking.”

Vil blinked at you, his grip tightening just slightly as he whispered in the most chilling tone you’d ever heard, “Try it.”

And suddenly, you weren’t so sure if he was joking or not.

By the end of the day, Vil had somehow convinced you to burn the silver pants, and Crewel was lecturing you on the importance of not traumatizing the general public with “fashion choices that could summon evil spirits.”

Vil looked at you proudly, eyes softening as he muttered, “Much better…”

And as you stood there in an outfit Vil had personally chosen, you couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks, Vil.”

Vil smirked, placing a kiss on the back of your hand, making your heart do a little flip. “Don’t thank me yet. This is only the beginning.”

Crewel clapped his hands together. “And remember, pup, no more unicorn pants, or I’ll have to report you to the fashion police.”

You grinned cheekily. “What, the fashion police, or you two?”

“Both,” they answered in unison.

You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help laughing. “Fine, fine, no more crocs and unicorns… for now.”

Vil gave you a long, narrow-eyed look. “We’ll see.”

But despite all the chaos, you could tell they both secretly cared. Even if they were ready to set your wardrobe on fire.

I didnt know if you wanted then seperately or together so i put them together. If you want then separately, just let me know!

Indigo’s Crackship Nonsense pt2: Eurylochus x Elpenor

(Another Elpenor ship? Crazy ik)

Yeah I genuinely don’t even know how I came up with this. One day I didn’t ship Eury with anyone, then the next I be kicking my feet thinking of these two. Definitely not my top fav ship (Circe x Elpenor my beloved <3) but it’s decently up there. They just seem like they could never work but that’s what makes them so enticing to me >:3 On the surface they’re opposites, but I like to think they’re rather similar. Only acting so different because of their circumstances. Eury being serious since he’s the second of command. While Elpenor acting more chaotic because he’s a known party person/constant drunk. Upon befriending and truly getting close they’re able to see another side of the other.

Naturally here’s some doodles of the cutie patoodies. They’re pretty inconsistent context wise I feel- but it’s fine.

Headcanon timeee:

- Enemies to lovers except they were never actual enemies they were friends who “bullied” each other and just managed to fall in love

- Would so go on double dates with Polites n Perimedes

- Way more affectionate in private

- The friend group prob betted if they would date or not

- Eury is secretly the more sappy one

- Elpenor loves being carried around

- Elpenor often traces Eury’s scars, something Eury doesn’t mind

- Often enjoy long and quiet snuggle times together

The Wisdom Saga: My Thoughts

Hey all!!!! Here are my thoughts on the Wisdom Saga from EPIC: The Musical!

Overall it isn’t my favorite (Circe/Thunder my beloveds), but it’s still pretty good imho!

Legendary

Love how upbeat this one is. MICO as Telemachus is VERY good, and I especially liked the little trembles/voice cracks (?) as he sang! Gave Tem a “young” vibe.

also loved that “L-L-L-L-Legendary” lol

ITS THE ANIMATIC FROM THE REFERENCE VIDEO :D

The Suitors’ voices 👌 also ANTINUOUS JUMPSCARE. HOW DARE YOU CALL PENELOPE A TRAMP WHEN YOU’RE THE ONE TRYING TO GET INTO HER BED.

Antinuous’s lines are the perfect ick. The ToA Discord and I were all typing out various amounts of EW, ICKY, GET OUT at his parts.

his part was sadly short, but honestly? It makes sense why it would be! Apollo really has no beef with Odysseus, and the Sirens are a little out of pocket, like he was assigned to play the game but is throwing Athena an easy thing to counter so he can get back to Orestes and also Athena owes him a solid so EPIC’s explanation for Athena helping Apollo in the Oresteia? 👀 I’m a nerd connecting the dots leave me be

“If that’s true then release him 🙄💅” Apollo has no time for this bullshit he’s like “come on dad why did you pull ME into this?” Lmaoooo

Hephaestus’s part about trust!! I love. Also the lyricism here and in Apollo’s is very very good <3

Also Athena ain’t dead lol she comes back in King isn’t it? Also she’s a GOD. Who CAN’T DIE.

I’ve seen criticism about Zeus attacking Athena, and about how he wouldn’t do that because she’s a favorite…but the thing is, in The Iliad, he does threaten to blast her and Hera off their chariots at one point…plus Apollo’s a favorite too, and he was nearly thrown into Tartarus by Zeus! Being the favorite doesn’t automatically mean you can get away with anything and everything, so I headcanon that Zeus got a bit more peeved than usual because of just how quickly Athena swayed the others (this can connect to the Odyssey then too, because the majority of the gods already agreed that Odysseus had suffered enough and were quite willing to let him go).

I have additional thoughts on God Games, but that’s for another post since it detracts from the actual livestream, but overall I really enjoyed this one! It’s the first livestream I’ve seen in full, though I do think Thunder Saga was more impactful to watch (I watched that livestream too, but came in at the end of No Longer You).

THE MEANING OF NAMES IN THE EPIC: PART 2. POLITES AND EURYLOCHUS

Part 1 part 3

Yes, yes, yes, I couldn't ignore these two. And in general, they were the very first ones whose names meanings I looked up on the Internet!

  Let's start, perhaps, with Polites, cause Eurylochus...ha-ha... the most interesting is usually left for last ;)))

The search for the meaning of the name Polites was long, cause I wanted to find something other than 1-2 meanings, but most sites gave the same information, so here I will tell only about these two meanings

• If we translate "Polites" from Greek ( Πολίτης) - then the translator gives us "citizen", but if we try to divide the name into parts, then only one will be, in my opinion, normal - "politics " (Πολίτ). If you try to search for something by this meaning, then deep in the sites it gives out - free citizen, or something like that. That is, the first meaning is completely connected with the political and civil meaning

• BUT-BUT-BUT the second thing that the search didn't give me right away... "Respect". Yes, our beloved good-natured Polites really leaves something good also in his name !!! And, as for me, it's super cute and great (and suspicious), what is such a positive quality as respect and as a result in the musical we have a kind sunshine !

Now Eurylochus-...

• I was 86% sure that Jorge was looking into the meaning of the names to get inspiration for the songs and the changed plot, and now I'm 96% sure of it. CAUSE THE MOST POPULAR ENGLISH MEANING IS "TURNED INTO A PIG BY CIRCE"! AND IN THE MUSICAL WE GET THE OPPOSITE OF THAT MEANING (of course, there are other reasons for this event, that Eurylochus was the only one who was not turned into a pig, BUT STILL-) .It seems to me that Jorge decided to make fun of Eurylochus (at least a little) by putting him in an event that is opposite to the meaning of the name

But do you think my confidence will end there?? NOPE! ABSOLUTELY NOT!

• If we divide the name into two parts again, then in addition to "Wide" from the "Εὐρύ" part, we also get... "Each" (  Εὐρύ again) and "Team" (λοχος) ... That is, if you slightly rework the resulting translation, you get... "Everyone on the team". WHAAAT DOES EURYLOCHUS MEAN FOR THE EPIC FROM A MUSICAL POINT OF VIEW?  True, true, true - the voice of the team, EVERYONE IN THE TEAM!

This cannot but be suspicious and lead to certain conclusions, don’t you agree? I absolutely love finding something like this, you should have seen my shock and joy when I found such a cool detail!!!

I, LITERALLY SINCE THE DAY I FOUND ALL OF THIS:

Updated: I am considering these meanings of names only from the point of view of the MUSICAL, how JORGE could have been inspired by the names for certain moments in EPIC. Here are just assumptions and simply interesting facts that someone might not know and I decided to tell those who didn't know about it! If there was anything here related to the original, I would have noted it first!

Waiting for Love (part 3)

Part 3: Alone

Odysseus was alone. Out of six hundred men — six hundred — he was the lone survivor, floating away to who knows where on his makeshift raft. For ten whole days, he kept coughing up salt water, choking on his tears, and being reminded of his mutinous crew.

Every time he thought of them, he couldn’t help but feel guilty. Guilty for not being able to save them. Guilty for cutting their journey short. Guilty for making their families at home wait for someone who won’t ever come back.

He could only hope that his family wouldn’t experience the same thing.

But underneath all that guilt, he felt … different. He hated to admit it, but he had changed. He thought, deep inside, that his crew deserved their fate. That they deserved to die. Especially Eurylochus.

Odysseus hadn’t wanted to fight him — he had thought of him as a brother. And how had he repaid him? By doing the one thing he had told him not to do — eat Helios’s cattle. It was his own fault he was dead.

Or was it?

What if it Eurylochus and the rest of the crew wasn’t to blame? What if the person to blame … was Odysseus? What if he had become who Poseidon had wanted him to? What if he had become ruthless?

What if he had become a monster?

So Odysseus pondered, drifting along on his raft, watching an island in the distance slowly draw nearer. He hoped he’d find some food there, or shelter, or even just a little company.

Hope — that was all he could do now.

The second Odysseus washed up on shore, his makeshift raft splintered apart, the pieces drifting back into the wine dark sea.

There goes my only way home, he thought to himself, his heart sinking.

He wandered along the shoreline for a while, trying to find some sign of civilization. Eventually, he came across a small hut where a fire burned inside.

“Hello?” he prompted.

No response.

He took another step forward, cautious. Still no response. So he looked around, thinking he’d find something useful.

And he noticed a scroll of papyrus sitting on a desk.

His mind was suddenly flooded with thoughts of his family, of his kingdom. How he longed to go back to them, to see them once again. It’d be a while before he got to do that.

But in the meantime, he could write to them. He knew they’d probably never see his letters, but it was the only way he could feel somewhat connected to them while he was away. Hopefully, he wouldn’t be away for much longer.

He started to write.

Dearest love of mine, I know I promised I’d be home soon. I know I broke that promise. But I am still trying. Still fighting. If it wasn’t for my mutinous crew, I’d be in your arms right now. They opened the bag. Then they slaughtered the sun god’s sacred cattle. We were thrown off course, and my entire crew was struck down by the son of Cronus’s lightning. Only I was spared — I and Eurylochus. Eurylochus, whom I treated as close as a brother — I was betrayed by him. Do something for me, Penelope. Tell Ctimene I’m sorry. Tell her that as much as I didn’t want to fight her husband, I was left without a choice. It was either me or him. Tell her I’m so very sorry. As for yourself, my love — wait a little longer. My journey is not over yet, but I will get back to you. I promise. I will get back — even if it means I have to fight the entire world. Wait for me, Penelope.

He finished his letter, his lips forming a slight smile as he brushed his thumb over his beloved’s name.

A clatter snapped Odysseus out of his thoughts. He whipped his head around to see a woman — a gorgeous one at that — standing behind him, a look of surprise on her godlike face.

Surprise that quickly transformed into a smile.

Odysseus’s hands began to tremble. His gut twisted. He knew that smile — he’d seen it on Circe’s face before.

And he didn’t like it.

My favourite animal is a cheetah! I'm just so impressed by their speed and how they run. If I had a mutant power, I'd want it to be super speed. So I want them to teach me there ways!

Right now, my The Wilds hyperfixation is so strong I can think of practically nothing else (oopsie). But yes! I love all the Wilds girls but Toni Shalifoe is my favourite <3. Honestly, she might have taken the crown of favourite character of all time at this point. Just gaaah. Such a softie underneath all that understandable anger. Cares so much for those she loves. I love her and all the layers of her character.

Before I watched the Wilds I got really into Legacies again (by finally watching s3 and s4). Absolutely obsessed with Lizzie Saltzman! Very relatable in some regards. Absolutely hilarious! Has so much pain and so many deep insecurities.

Mizzie from Legacies! Still can't believe they got to be endgame!! I thought it was just gonna be hopes and dreams but the way I screamed my head off!! I love an unrequited love storyline but I love it even more when it then becomes requited. He thought the world of her and then she realised she felt the same about him too and it was beautiful and I cried (and screamed).

Natalie x Henry from Next To Normal. He's just so supportive of her and would do anything to make sure she's okay and that makes me want to cry into my cereal.

Peter x Jason from Bare: A Pop Opera. Everything hurts. But their chemistry was of the charts and they were so in love and I am in pain.

Cheer Wives from We Are The Tigers. They were sooooo bad for each other but needed each other? It was a mess but I was so very there for it.

Quincent from Adamandi. I am once again in so much pain. I can't get over how beautiful the lyrics they sang were when referencing each other.

Freffy from Skins. The way he cared for Effy D,:. He would haved moved mountains just to make her smile. My heart will forever be broken over what happened to Freddie. He deserved so much better.

Dracudeen. Just the whole of 'This is Not How Or Story Goes.' There was no hetrosexual explanation for that and Clawdeen nearly died to save her!

Chlark from Smallville. Next to Simon x Chrissie, they were one of my first otps. No one did friendship like them. But I always wanted it to be more. That whole unrequited thing that was never really given a chance to become requited.

Edited to add: Chlavis! I now one cannot have 2 otps that include the same character but I always go back and forth between which I like best. Chlavis' story was so intense and traumatic but at least it ended up being requited this time around! Extremely requited!

Simon x Chrissie. Tfw the two most terrible people you'd never wanted to be stranded in the wilderness with have the most beautiful, unrushed character development and learn to care for people other than themselves as they slowly fall in love, when there was merely the shallowest one-sided crush you ever did see there before. The way they became heroes <3. And the way Simon just didn't know how to be without Chrissie but persisted in trying to save her when chances were beyond slim. I miss them so much and need to rewatch <3.

Harlan x Cyrus. They had so much chemistry and genuinely had a connection and now we'll never know what happened to them. I wish we got to know them better. Darn you Amazon!

Cloe x Jade from Bratz. It was more of a case of all the unwritten fanfiction I had in my head for them as an 11 year old. But I only let it get as gay as Monster High 2 at the time, which is actually very incredibly gay, so I don't know who my brain was trying to fool.

Lance x Kitty from X-Men Evolution. They had a really interesting connection and were drawn to each other.

1. What motivates you to write?

Half pure enjoyment, half the beast inside me demands it. The beast keeps ya going when the enjoyments are few. ;)

2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)

I love this bit here from my wip Cemetery Sisters:

The idea stayed, lingering like the condensation on Madeleine's ice water glass. An illusive definition of family dripped down and over her fingers, a question of grief and love left a ring behind on the table. “Is it going to give you purpose in a healthy way?” Miguel asked, like he was some kind of therapist and not a boy with a circ saw. “Are you asking me if I’m going to get obsessed with results that exist only in my head?” Madeleine retorted, pulling the lemon wedge from her glass and slurping it. Her teeth tingled.

3. Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?

Most all of them do! But I definitely love thinking about my boy Tim Alabaster from a wip of only vibes at this time. He's a magician framed for murder, and I adore him :)

4. What process of writing do you enjoy the most?

When you know just enough about the characters and the arc of the story that you can see it taking shape and the words are flowingggg

5. What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)

I'm good at dialogue, I think, at having different voices and humorous jokes.

6. What is something in the writeblr community is most enjoyable?

I love how supportive everyone is, how you can get so many wonderful glimpses of others' work through tag games, how there's really a story for everyone out there.

7. A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)

I enjoy trying to put down 300 words per day. More often than not, I end up writing way more than that, but it's a nice attainable goal.

8. A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)

In Stars and Ships there's a city on a planet that's built on tidal flats--all the structures are on stilts and at low tide canoes are tied up and hang up above the sand. I still like thinking about all the implications of the setting...

9. What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?

Don't be hard on yourself, and take a rest. Sometimes, just not holding yourself up to other standards and sleeping is all that's needed, and sometimes pursuing other creative outlets really helps me! Read, draw, go on a walk, talk with friends. The writing is still inside you, it'll be there.

As for your juicy questions...

How did I get into writing?

I'm so honoured that you like my style. That is such high praise coming from a poet like yourself! 🥹 When I was a kid I loved reading and words and stories. My first "career ambition" was expressed at 9, I wanted to be an author! And when I was a teenager, I occasionally wrote stories, and I wrote loads of fanfic from 15-17 (it was a lifeline for me at that time too!). But I had really low self esteem so it was a struggle to maintain creativity alongside the self doubt and perfectionism, and trying to be A High Achiever and all the rest of it. So I lost the habit of writing. I did write some poems when I was in my early twenties, and blogged a fair bit, but didn't have the presence of mind to write stories. Life got in the way. I forgot that I have a writer's soul.

And then in 2021 I did a creative writing course, and started writing a novel on and off. I then got BG3 brainrot last year, the novel fell to the wayside (lol) because of fanfic, and now I'm here!

My novel is 2/3 of the way through, and I hope to one day finish it and get it published! I would like to be a full time writer eventually 💜

What are some of your favourite books?

* Circe by Madeline Miller

* The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

She is my greatest influence. I hope to write like her one day! Every word she writes is poetry. So much wisdom and pain and beauty, so much economy in her writing. Her books have transformed me. I just love her work so much.

* The Greenlanders by Jane Smiley

I love the Icelandic sagas and this book basically reads like a real saga from the Viking age. It's incredible. Like something unearthed from the ancient depths.

*The Hours by Michael Cunningham

When I first read this book I felt like it illuminated a fundamental universal truth and cracked my soul open. I need to re-read it...

* A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

* The Witcher by Andrzei Sapowski

* The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer

All amazing, immersive, meticulous, expertly written. The first two are well known and beloved in fandom. The Southern Reach Trilogy is super weird and fucks with your head - Lovecraftian.

I am also a big fan of Sylvia Plath's poetry.

I'm sure there are more works I'm forgetting but I could go on and on!
